January
Theresa sat in the common room, watching as the news played on the screen of the only TV the psych ward had, at least for the patients.
Theresa watched as the TV went fuzzy, then back to normal, then fuzzy once again.
"Okay! Does everyone have their party hats?" One of the nurses yelled as she walked around, a party hat placed promptly on her head.
Theresa sat still as patients yelled, happily and angrily.
"Here you go sweetie" One nurse said as she placed a party hat on the girls head.
"Look at you! Your ready for the new year!" The nurse said way too happily as Theresa stated at the television.
"Okay everyone!" She yelled, clapping her hands together, "Get ready to start the countdown!"
The girl listened and watched out the window as everyone began counting down.
""
"They talk about you as if you're not here."
"Well Mike sure seems to know that I'm here."
""
"I'm just messing with you Jas."
"Jas?"
"Is that okay? Would you rather me call you Jasper?" Theresa asked him.
"No, I quite like Jas."
""
"May I have this dance darlin'?"
""
"But I can't dance."
"Then I'll teach you."
""
"It's up to you, but while you are human- I will give you the protection of my body, if need be, you have it."
""
Theresa realized as she saw fireworks outside that she had finally reached her new low.
~~~~
"Here you go sweetie" Theresa's nurse, Janice, said to Theresa as she handed her her daily meds, "Thank you Janice" Theresa said, taking the meds and putting them in her mouth before taking the water bottle Janice handed her to wash them down.
Theresa had met Janine right when she was pushed through those metal doors, away from Charlie and into the psych ward. Janice was at Theresa's side, reassuring her that everything was okay, which Theresa appreciated. Janice was a welcoming old lady, she was Theresa's main nurse. She took the time to learn and get to know Theresa, understand her history, giving Theresa time to open up about her mental health and always told Theresa before she asked her a question, "If you don't feel comfortable to answer, don't."
Given Janice wasn't her doctor or therapist, but Theresa had more trust in her than she did her doctors. The doctors didn't really care about her, they just wanted to get her out of the psych ward due to the amount of patients in the psych ward, which didn't give Forks a nice reputation. It has only been a month since she's been admitted into the psych ward, but the doctor's were still giving Theresa pill after pill to try to magically cure her depression. Theresa knew that the doctors were annoyed by her slow progress, but Janice made sure to reassure Theresa that slow progress is better than no progress at all. But one thing that Janice didn't know was that nothing could cure what Theresa was feeling, except her mate.
"New year, new visitors!" Janice said, causing Theresa's eyes to widen, who else would be here to see her except for Bella and Charlie?
Charlie came to visit whenever he could, but Bella made sure at least once a week to visit, which made Theresa happy. Don't get it wrong, Theresa was still severely depressed, but seeing her family made her days more bearable.
"Say's her name is Alice dear" Janice said, causing Theresa to stand still, shocked, "Alice?" She asked her, Janice nodding in agreement.
That was all it took. Theresa ran out of her room and down the hallway, "Theresa!" Janice yelled from her room, Theresa not bothering to look behind her, running as if she was running for her life.
Theresa turned the corner to the community room where she usually met up with Bella, stopping when she saw Alice and Bella standing at the front desk, arguing with the receptionist.
"This is important!" Alice yelled as the reseptionist shook her head, "She cannot be signed out without her legal guardians consent!" The lady said sternly.
Theresa smiled, "Alice" She said, almost in a whisper, but Alice could still hear her with her vampire hearing, causing her to turn her head and look at the girl.
"Hey Tess," She said, stopping the argument with the receptionist for a moment to greet the girl. Theresa smiled wider as she ran to Alice, hugging her tightly.
"Your real" Theresa whispered as Alice hugged her back, "As real as it gets" Alice said with a laugh. She pulled away fro, the hug to look at Theresa, "You look horrible" She said with a dry laugh as Theresa nodded, "It's been a while" She said as she watched Alice's eyes trail down to her gauze wrapped arms. She quickly rolled down her sleeves, covering the bandages.
"What are you doing here?" Theresa asked as she looked behind her to see Bella on the phone.
"The boy's are in trouble."
"What?"
"Jasper couldn't stand what he did to you so he went to the Volturi," Alice said, pausing as she saw Theresa raise an eyebrow, "Vampire royalty" Alice said, explaining what the Volturi was to the human. Theresa nodded, telling Alice to go on, "He asked for death," Alice said as Theresa felt her world fall apart at that very moment, "Death?" She asked her, tears beginning to form in her eyes, "But the Volturi hasn't decided yet!" Alice quickly finished, grabbing the girls shoulders, causing Theresa to look her in the eyes.
Theresa nodded, realizing what she had to do, "We need to go get him" She said as Alice nodded in agreement, "That's why we came to brake you out of here" Alice said with a smile as Theresa looked back at Bella who was still arguing with the receptionist, "What's the problem?" Theresa asked as she turned her attention back to Alice, who looked behind her to see Bella and the receptionist still arguing, before turning back to Theresa and rolling her eyes, "Their throwing a fit because it's in Rome."
Theresa was shocked, to say the least. How would they get there in time to save Jasper? That must be a long flight, and this was wasting time.
"Is there a problem here?" Theresa heard a voice behind her ask. She turned around to see the ward guards standing behind her.
Theresa turned around to look at the guards before looking around the room to see no one except her, Alice, Bella, the guards, and the receptionist in it.
Theresa took a deep breath before putting her hand up in front of her face, "I'm sorry" She said, red glow flowing out of her hands, blasting the nurse into a chair that was sat in the community room.
"What?-" The receptionist said, but was cut off by Theresa locking the door to the receptionist area, locking her in.
"Theresa-" Alice said, letting out a deep breath that she didn't know she was holding in, as Theresa cut her off, "Let's go."
8 177Olive the Other Werewolves
"Shift." His voice hit me like a serrated blade as he stepped out of the crude semicircle of hardened wolves that had formed around me. I pushed myself off of the cold floor for what felt like the thousandth time that day, wiping the small trail of blood coming off of my lip and down my chin. "I won't ask you again." My limbs felt like lead, these wolves had been at me for hours trying to get me to shift into my wolf, unbeknown to them was that their efforts would forever be futile considering the fact my wolf wouldn't make an appearance for me even when I begged. I seriously doubted she would suddenly pop up as a result of their abusive tactics. Instead of explaining my circumstances, driven by a bizarre combination of adrenaline and fatigue, I leaned back on my heels and sent the largest loogie I'd ever conjured flying over and landing squarely between the eyes of the man before me. oOoOoOoOoOo As a late bloomer who was incapable of shifting yet, let alone making any contact with her wolf, Olive Ludovic's life was not off to the best start. Growing up, constantly being tormented and taunted by those around her forced Olive to grow a tough skin and work even harder, despite the fact she was without her wolf. When her home is taken over by a dark pack, life seems to only get worse for Olive as it is quickly discovered that her mate is none other than Matteo, the Alpha of the very pack that was terrorizing her people.
