Theresa sat down on the muddy ground, her back against a tree, as Edward, Rosalie, and Emmett ran south trying to trick James into going south after Bella instead of north, where she was.

Theresa sighed as her phone, that she held next to her ear, went to voicemail again.

"Hey mom. I know you won't answer me, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm safe and that I love you" Theresa said before ending the phone call and turning off her phone.

Theresa threw her phone to the ground and sat in silence. She had left her mother too many voicemails to count. She thought that she would be scared to know that she wasn't going to be at Charlie's for a while or that she's "running away" with Bella, but she was sent straight to voicemail. Every. Damn. Time.

Theresa ran her hands over her face, trying to stay awake since she's been up for hours, when her phone beeped. She immediately took her hands off of her face and looked over to where her phone laid in the mud. She slowly stood up and walked over towards her phone, another beep coming from it. She hesitated before picking it up.

She cleaned the mud off of the phone screen and revealed the text message,

If you know what's best for you you'll meet me in Phoenix.

If not I could just pay "Jas" a little visit.

The phone fell to the ground, submerged in mud once again as Theresa stood there still, shocked.

It was an unknown number, but she knew that it was James.

She stood still in shock until she heard footsteps running towards her. She looked behind her to see Edward, Emmett, and Rosalie standing there.

Edward gave Theresa a look that told her what she already knew.

"He's figured it out."

"Where do we go from here?" Theresa asked.

"I'm going to get Bella and take her somewhere safe. The rest of you will continue hunting James."

"What about Charlie? We have to tell him something" Theresa said, not wanting to worry Charlie, "He'll survive" Edward said, turning around to walk back to the cars.

"Hey" Theresa said, grabbing Edward by the shoulder before continuing, "I know that you are in this love drunk state, but we are the ones that have to keep searching for James. I'm the one that has to face Charlie everyday and act as if I don't know where his daughter is when I do! You're ignorance to how everyone else feels is going to ruin your relationships!"

Edward stood still as everyone got quiet.

"I think that everyone's had a long day. Let's go home and get some rest" Rosalie said as she put her hand on Theresa's shoulder.

But Theresa knew that she wouldn't be able to rest. She knew that she had to go against what the Cullens said and go to Phoenix to meet James and let Bella live while keeping the Cullen's safe as well.

Theresa looked at Rosalie and nodded before speaking, "You guys go start the car. I'll be there in a second."

Rosalie smiled before nodding at her and walking with Edward to the car, Emmett about to follow behind them, but not without giving Theresa a smile.

Theresa waited until they were in the car before picking up her phone again and cleaning the mud off of it using her shirt sleeve.

Theresa took a deep breath before unlocking her phone and going to her messages.

Theresa texted James, "Send me the address."
