"Tess."

More than 3 million men fought in the Civil War.

"Tess!"

Two percent of the population, more than 620,000, died in the war.

"!"

Theresa quickly looked up from her book, startled by Alice yelling her name at the lunch table.

"Finally you have your head out of that romance novel-" Alice said, but was cut off by Theresa, "It's actually about the civil war."

"Way off Alice" Emmett said with a laugh as Alice sent him a glare.

"Anyway-" Alice said before continuing to speak, "I was thinking that us girls should go to that dress shop after school."

"Why?" Theresa asked as she turned her attention back to her book, flipping the page as Alice talked to her.

"Because we all need prom dresses-" Alice said, but stopped as she noticed that Theresa was back to ignoring her. Alice reached across the table and took the book out of Theresa's hands causing her to yell, "Hey!", before sitting back down in her seat. "Now that I have your full attention," Alice said, continuing from where she left off, "We need to get our dresses before everyone else."

"Why's that?" Bella asked, confused at how Alice was stressing about dresses when they still had two months left before prom.

"I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to be matching with someone else." Rosalie said.

"Well you guys have fun" Theresa said, causing Alice to gasp loudly, grabbing everyone's attention.

"What do you mean? Your going too aren't you?" Alice asked as the bell rang causing Theresa to stand up from her seat and grab her bag.

"I don't have time. I need to study as much as I can for this civil war test in history tomorrow. Plus we already talked about this Alice. You know I'm not going to prom."

"I didn't know that" Bella said as Theresa took her book back from Alice before turning to face Bella, "Well maybe if you were home more you would."

Theresa didn't mean to be rude, but she wasn't wrong. Theresa was left alone 24/7 at the Swan residence. Charlie couldn't control that he had more work suddenly because of the animal attacks, but Bella was attached to Edward at the hip and the only time Theresa saw her was at lunch. As of right now Theresa felt more lonely than ever, which she used to not mind, but now since she's in a new state, a new house, and a new school, she didn't like being left alone at home surrounded by forests.

"Bye guys" Theresa said before quickly walking away from the lunch table.

"Tess! Wait up!" She heard Jaspers voice yell, stopping her in her tracks.

"Yes?" Theresa asked Jasper as she loved off to the sauce of the cafeteria doors so she wouldn't get trampled by other students trying to leave the cafeteria, much like the first time her and Jasper officially met.

"Maybe I could help you study tonight. I know a lot about history and I wouldn't mind helping you, if you need it of course."

"Um, sure" Theresa said, hugging her book closer to her chest.

Jasper smiled, "Meet me in the parking lot after school then" He said, causing Theresa to smile. She swore his smile was contagious, "Okay."
