The Empty Valley Cries Unheard
The stories can be read at any order. Phew, this story was finally finished at last! What could I say, it was a hell of a ride when I wrote it from the beginning to end. Thanks for having me on RR :D All the current chapter had already done a run on Grammarly, so hopefully it'd be more readable. ...kinda feeling lazy so calling off the edits for now. A couple of old / new attempts of combining Horror, Comedy and Absurdist elements. I'm not very good at writing Horror stories but I'd like to try once in a while. Although the first chapter may be completely screwed up, believe me--I mostly write fluffy gay scenes between two girls. It would PROBABLY become a lot lighter as we moved up the chapter count. Not for the faint of heart, but if you're like me who like some absurd or nonsensical stories, this might be right up your alley. The Mystifying Diviner
Content warning, there is cursing in the story and there will be some pretty heavy sexual innuendos in it also. I don’t really plan to write gore, but there will be fight scenes. Fair warning to readers, it is a slow start. But hopefully it is enjoyable for you to read. Follow the story of an old chef who was lucky to be selected to become a system host. Well maybe not so lucky, because gaining the system killed him. He will be given a system that might not be the best match for him. While also having to deal with a snarky system monitor who might not be that helpful most of the time. He will also use his new found powers to enjoy life in a new younger body. What you can expect from this story is bad writing, poor grammar, and slow pacing maybe. Food, cooking, comedy, slice of life, fighting, exploring, tournaments, scamming and probably face slapping. I mean who doesn’t like a good face slapping? This is my take on a cultivation story, a lot of Eastern stuff will be crammed into with a mix of Western. This story started as a goal for myself to write 60,000 words in a month for NaNoWriMo. I was able to do it even with taking days off and not writing. I plan to keep writing the story, but at a slightly slower pace. I am aiming for 2-3 chapters a week now with about 4-7k words written. This is only posted on RoyalRoad currently, and I have no plans to change that for now. In the year 1058 of the Aphax Calendar, a grand war between the realm of dragons, Shas, and the human country called the Linsian Empire. The empire had managed to push back the dragons through the use of ancient magic that stole the souls of many dragons, and cursed them to mortal bodies, ready to be slaughtered. A hundred years later, once the war had ended, the dragons are left to rule over three sanctuaries, hidden from the Empire with their dwindling numbers. A once stubborn dragon changed his mind. Unwilling to let his ilk die like starving wolves, Victor, cursed like many others to live in a human body, set out. His journey is one that will be followed, told, and recounted through the years for generations after he dies. Schedule: Every Wednesday and Friday. Length: 1,000+ words every chapter. Side-note: This is sort of a test run. If it's received well with the first few chapters, I'll keep going! If not, oh well, I can try something different. ------ Currently on Hiatus
