《Royal Jester》33. Anastasia

After Ana experienced what was probably the best orgasm of her life, they left Mason's room to find something to eat, and only then did she remember that Josh was in the living room.

She smiled at him; he couldn't have heard anything (right?). Her silent question was answered when Josh smirked, "Never would have pegged you as the type of girl to moan so much. You guys forget I was here or some shit?"

Ana coughed as Mason wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her against him. "Back off would ya?" He rolled his eyes with a muttered, "Asshole."

She lightly slapped his shoulder at the curse, turning slightly to give him a look. "Language," she mouthed.

Her boyfriend rolled his eyes once more before he bent down to give her a light kiss on the cheek, playfully pressing his nose into her skin and causing Ana to laugh at the sensation. "Do you want me to make us something? Or do you want to get take-out?" He shifted so that she was now pressed against his front and her eyes widened when she felt his obvious erection on her stomach.

Ana looked up at him curiously and Mason gave her an awkward smile in response. She grinned gently at the hesitation on his face, "Whatever you prefer."

She wanted to tell him that she was okay with it - it was a natural reaction after all - but she thought that might be more a private discussion. Instead she wrapped her arms around him, laying her head on his chest and feeling him relax.

"Take-out it is," he whispered in return as he laid his cheek on her head.

She realized in that moment how often they hugged exactly like this, and she found herself wondering why Mason seemed to favor this position so much.

She mentally shrugged before pushing the thought aside.

"I'm still right here you know?" Ana sighed before releasing Mason and turning to face Josh at the words.

"Jealous little shit," Mason grumbled and both she and Josh glared at him. "He is!" He defended when he noticed her side-eye.

Ana huffed, "I could say the same about you."

"Pfft," he scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest, "As if. When have I ever been jealous?"

"I can name at least three moments right now," she deadpanned.

Mason's hands raised slightly, his mouth twisting as his eyebrows furrowed with clear disbelief. "Oh yeah? Name one then."

"You locked me in the bathroom!" Ana gestured to said room with both hands; she still couldn't believe he had done that. "With a chair of all things!"

"That was one time!"

The next few days were uneventful as both Mason and Ana became busy preparing for the upcoming semester. They hadn't been able to actually hang out since that first night and it was slowly driving Ana crazy.

She was looking forward to spending time with him her entire flight back, and now that she was actually here the opportunity felt like it was slowly slipping through her fingers.

"Carly," Ana called out when she noticed her walk past. She was lucky to have caught her now, it was normally very unlikely to see her in the halls at UPenn.

Her roommate paused before turning to face Ana and she smiled when she realized who it was. "I just realized I forgot to give you this," Ana explained.

She pulled said item out of her satchel, it was a handcrafted bag she had found in town one day as she was exploring more of her kingdom. Carly had been complaining about her favorite bag having a hole in it before Ana left, so she immediately thought of her when she saw it on the shelf.

Carly's eyebrows raised when she saw what Ana was holding. "Oh my- that's for me?"

"You said you needed a new one right? You kept losing your pens and stuff?"

Carly nodded as she reached forward to take the bag from her hands. "This looks really expensive," she said when she held it up to see it better.

"It's handmade by a very talented seamstress," she told her, "So it's worth even more than how much I spent."

"And how much did you spend?" Her voice was wary, as though she was dreading the amount.

Ana shook her head with a smile, "That doesn't matter. All that matters is that it's a gift from me to you because you needed a new one." Carly's mouth opened, but she didn't say anything so Ana gave her another grin, "You should be thanking me, you know," she teased.

She laughed at that before suddenly pulling Ana into a hug; Ana was surprised by the gesture but returned the embrace nonetheless. "Thank you so much," Carly exclaimed when she pulled away. "I'll take good care of it, I promise."

"Even if you didn't," Ana began, "It's yours now so you can do anything you want with it."

Carly laughed again, "Right. It's just that I've probably never gotten anything so expensive before, so I'm trying not to freak out right now is all," she squealed.

"This is you not freaking out?" Mason suddenly stepped up beside Ana and clasped their fingers together before bringing her hand up to kiss the back of it. He smiled gently down at her wide eyes.

She practically melted on the spot; he was perfect.

"You guys make me feel so lonely," Carly abruptly said. "Also, Mason, kindly fuck off." She gave him the middle finger, "Your girlfriend gave me a gift and not you, so suck on that."

Mason turned to look at Ana with flirtatious eyes, "Oh I don't know," he hummed with a mischievous smirk. "I think I got a pretty damn great gift a few nights ago." And then her boyfriend winked. He winked.

Ana's face flushed and she bit her lip when they made eye contact.

Is this what people were talking about when they used the term panty-dropping? Because she'd be totally fine with dropping her panties right about now.

She shook her head to clear her thoughts as she forced her gaze away from Mason to look at Carly as she gagged. "Are you purposefully trying to traumatize your roommates," she shuddered.

"It's your fucking fault for overhearing," Mason argued.

"Maybe don't be so loud next time!" Ana felt like her face was on fire.

Her boyfriend noticed and he reached up with his free hand to cup her face. He stroked her cheek gently with his thumb, staring intently at her face before he directed a glare at Carly. "You're embarrassing her," he accused.

"I'm embarrassing her? You're the one that brought it up!"

Mason tsked, "Whatever. Let's go, baby," he started waking in the direction of Ana's classroom, and there was no point in fighting him, so she merely waved at Carly as they left.

"You're terrible, you know that?" Ana asked with a small giggle as she quickened her steps to match his pace. She wrapped her other arm around his bicep and felt the muscle tense slightly under her hand.

She smiled to herself as she tightened her grip.

"I know," he acknowledged. "And you love me because of it, don't you pretty girl?"

Ana's heart jumped at the pet name. He had used it for the first time the other night during their . . . escapades, and now he couldn't seem to stop saying it. And she never wanted him to.

She leaned her head on his shoulder, forcing them to slow down a bit as they continued walking. "One of many reasons," she nodded.

"Ah-," he sighed, "You drive me fucking insane."

They stopped outside of her classroom and she adjusted slightly to kiss his jaw. "You love me because of it," she repeated with a teasing grin before pressing her lips against his. The kiss was passionate - as most of theirs were - and made her feel deliciously light headed.

Mason smirked as he pulled away, "Naughty, naughty girl." He rubbed the tip of his nose on hers and she smiled as she realized it had become a sort of habit after they kissed. "Making a scene like that," he shook his head softly.

"I'll see you after class," she giggled.

"Be good," he called out as he started backing away.

"How about you try listening to your own advice," she yelled back, gaining a few glances from passersby.

She saw him roll his eyes and turned to walk into the classroom when he was out of sight, only to abruptly be shoved through a door right beside the class's. She stumbled onto the ground, catching herself with her hands and wincing as her bare knees made contact with the ground.

She loved wearing dresses, except when something like this happened.

She heard the door close behind her and was descended into darkness. She stood from the ground, brushing off her knees and grimacing as she felt a sort of liquid on her left knee.

Definitely blood she thought to herself as she turned back around.

Ana ran her hands over the door in front of her, sighing in relief when she found the doorknob. But she was only able to turn it a quarter of an inch before something stopped her. She froze momentarily before trying to turn it the other way.

It wasn't opening.

She jiggled the handle a few times, sighing with frustration when it didn't budge.

But she relaxed slightly as she thought over what might be happening. She had mentioned the incident with the bathroom earlier, and Mason had probably finally came up with his prank and this was it.

Soon enough, her boyfriend would open the door and she'd yell at him for scaring her until he begged for forgiveness and everything would be okay.

Except she heard the sound of voices lessen, the noise of everyone moving around outside the door dissipating until it was so quiet that she could hear her own breathing.

Okay so he was really dragging it out but- any minute now.

Ana sat on the ground after looking for a light switch and failing to find one. She felt cramped in the small space and she thought she heard something fall to the ground when she leaned back against what she thought might be a shelf of some sort.

She sighed as she let her eyes fall closed; it was too dark to see anything anyways.

Some time had passed before she reopened her eyes and chanced a glance at her phone's screen to see the time. It had been over half an hour since she had been locked inside.

Did he just forget about her?

She rolled her eyes as she pulled open her contacts list and swiped on Mason's contact to call him. But just as she heard the second ring, her phone suddenly died and she groaned as she realized she forgot to charge it.

She had spent all of this morning trying to get ready for class, so she had completely forgotten to plug in her phone as she was getting ready.

If she had known she was going to get stuck in a such a small room, she never would have come to class in the first place. She'd rather be with Mason right now (even though he was probably the one who locked her in), snuggled up in his bed and watching a movie.

She tossed her phone on the ground, not caring where it went in the slightest; so much for that.

Ana wasn't sure how long she had been in there, but at some point her annoyance had become panic and she was on the verge of tears when she finally started banging her fist on the door.

And she was screaming at this point, her throat sore as she sobbed for help. "Come on Mason! Let me out," she wailed. "This isn't funny anymore!"

She gasped for air, choking on her cries and gagging as she suffered through what had to be the worst experience of her life. She never thought herself to be claustrophobic, but it suddenly felt as if the walls were closing in on her and she was going to be crushed a very slow, painful death.

She hit the door harder, screamed even louder and finally (finally), the door was pulled open.

She fell through the opening, as she had been leaning heavily on the door, and scrambled to stand back up as she cried out in relief.

"Anastasia," she heard someone say and her blurry gaze met a pair of wide blue eyes.

She knew those eyes, she knew that voice.

Ana collapsed into Mason's arms, clinging onto his body with all her might as she buried herself in his chest and wept on his shirt.

"My poor girl," she heard him say through her sobs as she felt his hand rub her back. "What happened to you, baby? Why were you in there, my girl?"

"Someo-," she hiccupped, "Someone pushed me in."

She desperately attempted to get closer to him, even though she was already as close as physically possible. Still, she tried. She wanted to crawl into his skin, wanted to feel his warmth and bask in his protection.

Mason stiffened in her arms, "Who did, baby? Who locked you in there?"

"I don't know," she shook her head with a sob.

"I think I know who," he sounded so mad and she felt one of his arms loosen around her waist. She turned with dismay to see what he was reaching for.

It was a piece of paper taped to the door.
