《Bakugou X Kirishima's sister (Reader)》Chapter 42

Katsuki never ended up telling you what he and your grandma had talked about. Not even after you threatened to use your quirk to find out. You figured you wouldn't be too nosy, considering it seemed like they both didn't want to share. As the weeks of the school year progressed, Katsuki spent the majority of his free time with you. Give or take the few days he'd hang out with your brother, trying to balance his time between you both.

At this point, Katsuki practically lived in your dorm room, staying in your room most nights. Especially on the nights leading up to your "dates" with Hoshi. After hanging out with Hoshi a few more times, you figured you'd give him the benefit of the doubt, he had been nothing but nice to you and had respected your space whenever you seemed uncomfortable.

The two of you actually got along nicely, if things hadn't ended up this way, you both probably could have ended up as friends. And at some point, maybe the two of you already had, Hoshi wasn't shy when it came to texting you, even if it had nothing to do with work. Sending you funny pictures or just asking how you and Katsuki were. Though it was weird to hear from him in the beginning he always made sure to ask how you both were, not wanting to start a fight with Katsuki.

Katsuki was never happy to hear that Hoshi was messaging you, but he trusted you and tried not to argue about it. You rarely brought Hoshi up, unless you had too, you knew that this situation wasn't easy for anybody, but you felt especially guilty for leaving Katsuki every weekend to spend time in the public eye with Hoshi. But luckily this was almost over, only a few weeks left and you'd be free to spend time with Katsuki anytime any place, no need to hide that the two of you were the real couple.

You set your phone down on the table separating you and Hoshi, you had decided to go on a breakfast date this Saturday, giving you the night with Katsuki. You sat in the back of a café, ripping apart a piece of your bagel before popping it into your mouth, listening to whatever story Hoshi was telling you about his last tour.

"You know, I was thinking we may be able to get out of this contract sooner than the full three months."

Those words piqued your interest, you dropped the remainder of your bagel back on the table, looking at him waiting for him to continue.

"I think if we can really sell that we're together and not like some speculation that the media can't figure out, then they may let us off the hook."

You picked up your coffee taking a sip, thinking over what he was saying. "And how do you suppose we do that?"

"Well," he couldn't look you in your eyes, "there are a number of ways to show that you're with someone."

"What did you have in mind?" you questioned, not liking where he was going with this.

"Couples tend to hold hands or um," his voice trailed off as his gaze locked with yours.

Your eyebrows pulled together in disapproval, "Absolutely not."

His hands went up, "It was just a suggestion."

You didn't say anything else just went back to picking at your bagel. Once it was ripped to shreds you glanced back up at Hoshi, he was just drinking his coffee looking at you.

"Listen, Y/N. The only reason I suggested it was because our agencies have noticed that you don't look all that happy in the pictures of us together. And I get it, this situation makes that hard but they've made it clear that if this relationship doesn't look real they're going to prolong this or it won't end well for both of us financially."

That was the last thing you wanted to hear, "I'll work on it."

He nodded, "Well ready to go?"

You stood up, following behind him, trying not to let the inner turmoil you were feeling show on your face. Lost in your thoughts you didn't notice the uneven ground outside of the café, and as a few cameras flashed around you, you tripped. Hoshi reached out stopping you from landing on the ground. He held you in one of his arms, his face inches from yours.

"Wait!" you turned your head, his lips pressing to the side of your face. You closed your eyes, hearing the snapshots of cameras going off. This wasn't supposed to happen. You pulled away, hiding your face as you walked to the car. The second he got in and closed the door you turned to him.

"What the hell was that?"

"I know you're upset, and I'm sorry but I just figured it would help."

"Well how about next time you don't help." You crossed your arms, leaning back into your seat, hoping that you could get back to the dorms before those photos were posted. "Just take me back to UA."

The car pulled away, driving back to the school, while you both sat there in silence. Once it parked you didn't wait for Hoshi, shoving your door open you made your way to your dorms building.

"Y/N, wait!" Hoshi rushed after you, tugging on your shoulder to stop you. But you didn't stop, just kept walking, trying to ignore him. "Look I'm sorry. I promise you it'll never happen again. I was really just trying to help."

You stopped in front of the steps leading to dorms porch, "Hoshi, I don't want to hear it. I told you no and you did it anyway. I think you need to leave."

He stood there, regret clear across his face as he hesitated to walk away. He looked like he wanted to say something more but before he could the front door swung open with a slam.

"Who the hell do you think you are?!"

Apparently, the paparazzi were on it today and had gotten that picture out as fast as they could. Katsuki stormed down the steps, you could sense the rage coming off of him in heaps before he even reached you both. His arm already cocking back aimed for Hoshi's face, and even though you thought he deserved it, you couldn't let it happen. Not wanting to get into trouble and risk being sued for breaking your contract.

"Katsuki wait!" but you knew he wouldn't listen to you, reaching out with your hand you activated your quirk, preventing him from moving any further. You turned to Hoshi, "just leave," your voice stern as Katsuki struggled against your hold.

"Let me go! Why are you protecting him?" the intensity of his anger only increasing as you held him back. His eyes singling out Hoshi as he walked away, "Your days are numbered! You hear me? If I ever see you again, you're dead!"

"Katsuki," you tried to get him to look at you, but he ignored you, still focused on Hoshi's retreating figure. You needed him to calm down, so you pushed yourself into his thoughts, his face contorting from rage to pain as he tried to fight against your quirk.

You could feel everything he was feeling, rage, pain, doubt, each emotion passed through you as you delved deeper into his head. You had known this situation wasn't ideal, but you didn't know how much of a toll it had actually taken on him. He'd never shared any of these emotions or thoughts with you, burying them deep down, trying to ignore them.

"Get out of my head," his voice sounded strangled as he tried to fight you.

Complying you pulled away, his face relaxing slightly, the pained expression now gone, leaving behind only anger. You let him go now that Hoshi was out of sight, he grabbed your wrist before turning to go back inside. Neither one of you spoke until you had reached your room.

You turned to face him, he stood in the small doorway, eyes closed, one had pinching the bridge of his nose. The other in a fist pressed into the wall as if that was the only thing keeping him from falling over. His entire body was tense as he took deep breath after deep breath, trying to calm down.

"I didn't know he was going to do that. He had mentioned it but I had told him no, I didn't think he'd try anything after that."

"That's all the more reason you should have let me-"

You cut him off, "No, it only would have made things worse." He knew you were right, so he didn't say anything just tried to focus on his breathing. The silence between you only made you anxious as you recalled what you'd seen in his thoughts. "Why didn't you tell me how you were feeling?" your voice soft, not wanting to disturb the quiet that had settled around you.

"How was I supposed to? It's not like anything would have changed." He looked at you, and you could see him struggling to hide his emotions behind his eyes. He took a deep breath, he looked lost as he glanced to the side of you, seeing something that wasn't there. "Do you know what it's like to watch your girlfriend leave every few days to spend time with some asshole? To see the one person, you care so much for spend her time with someone else. To have to hide how much you actually care about her because the rest of the world thinks she's dating someone else."

You didn't say anything in response, you couldn't have known what that felt like. Even though you could imagine how it would feel if things were reversed, you hadn't a clue what it was really like.

"I didn't trust him, and the shit he pulled today only proves I was right to feel that way. I don't want to even let you near him again, but I know that I can't ask that of you."

"So, what do we do?" you didn't want to deal with this anymore, wanting nothing more than to just wrap your arms around him and pretend like this wasn't real.

"I don't know," he sighed. He had relaxed a little, moving to sit on your bed, his hand reaching out to hold yours.

You closed your eyes, you felt awful for the situation you had put the both of you in. "I don't want to continue to put you through this," your voice quiet again.

"You're not breaking up with me," his tone was hard as he yanked you to him, wrapping his arms around you.

"I didn't say that, but I can't help but feel responsible for this." Your hands cupping his chin as you searched his face, wanting to know what he was thinking.

"Can't you see that's what he wants?" your expression changing to show your confusion. "He's into you, it's so obvious. I don't believe for a second that he didn't have anything to do with this."

"But he said-"

"You're too trusting. It's painfully obvious that he wanted a chance with you. And when he realized that things weren't going to go south for us, he meddled trying to drive us apart."

You didn't entirely believe what he was saying. Why would anyone go through all the trouble?

His arms dropped from you as you took the spot next to him, "How do you know that?"

He grabbed your chin so you would look at him, "Because if things had been reversed and you had picked him, the second things were going bad for you both I would have done the same."

You remained silent, thinking over what he was saying.

"If you don't believe me, ask him yourself. The second he thinks things aren't going well for us, he'll make his move. I guarantee it."

You weren't sure what to say. Originally, you'd thought he'd known about it, but after he explained that he had no involvement you had started to believe him. But did all of this really happen because Hoshi had feelings for you? You tried not to think about it, pushing it to the back of your mind. Scooting over you wrapped your arms around Katsuki, wanting to just spend the rest of your Saturday by his side.

He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer, "You mean the world to me, dumbass. Don't ever forget that."
