《Bakugou X Kirishima's sister (Reader)》Chapter 31

Saturday morning was spent in a whirlwind of cleaning. Your parents had you putting even the smallest things away and cleaning any visible surface in the house. Your grandma was flying into town tonight and your parents wanted everything perfect for her arrival. It was now late afternoon and you were all taking a much-needed break before you set out to the airport.

You checked your phone to find yet another message from Kyoko. Yet again she sent you a picture of another guy and a list of his qualities. You looked it over and you had to admit the guy was attractive, he didn't have that same pretty boy look as all the rest. But just because he looked different didn't mean he was. Shutting off your phone you went back to cleaning, not really having anything else to do.

Everything, and you meant everything, was now clean, even the little ridges of the sliding glass door were clean. Your father said he'd get your grandma alone to let you and your mother rest before welcoming her home. You sat at the dining room table while your mom made a snack.

"Okay, no more sulking." She spoke as she took a seat across from you.

"What are you talking about?" you asked, reaching for one of the crackers on her plate.

"You're not fooling anybody anymore. I let it slide during the summer, hoping now that you were back in school, you'd feel better, but you haven't changed. So, I'm letting you know you're not allowed to sulk anymore." She grinned at you. You knew she was messing with you and she just wanted you to open up, but you couldn't stop the eyeroll from her words.

"Oh of course mom, I'll just turn these feelings off," your words dripping with sarcasm.

"Dear I know what this is about and I'm sorry things turned out this way. I can't change Eijiro's mind or Bakugou's but I can be here for you. You know that."

Some part of you still didn't want to admit what happened between the two of you. Because if it stayed within that small group of people maybe you could pretend like it didn't happen at all.

"How do you know what this is about?" you looked off to the side, not wanting to solidify her speculations.

"Honey, I'm not stupid. I saw the two of you on the beach that night you kids went to that party. Not to mention I saw him leaving your room the next day." Her voice turning to that of a disapproving parent. Your face instantly turned red. So, he wasn't lying about that. "I was going to scold you about that, but I never got around to it and then well this happened, and I would just feel bad for lecturing you about it now."

You put your head on the table, your mom knew more than she let on.

"Oh, don't be so down. You're young and I know things may seem like the worlds ending but it's not. You'll find a boy who will cherish and love you so don't waste time worrying about it."

Lifting your head up just enough to lock eyes with her you groaned before speaking. "We really don't have to talk about this. I'm not worried about any of that. I just-" you didn't know how to finish your sentence. Because all you had been doing was trying to shove your feelings away, smother them to where they would hopefully fade out.

"Listen to me. Don't hide your feelings. Let yourself go through them. We're meant to feel things. And things will get better." She gave you a small smile.

"Who's hiding feelings?" the familiar voice of your grandma caused you to turn in her direction.

"Grandma!" you jumped up running to give her a hug. You'd missed her, the crazy old woman who never held anything back. She loved you all with her whole heart, but had no problem telling you the absolute truth. No matter how brutal.

Once you let her go, she made her way to the seat by your mother, joining your table conversation.

"So, what's this about hiding feelings?" she continued. Your grandmother, like your mom, always wanted the tea on everyone.

She looked at you, expecting you to inform her on what she missed in your life since you'd returned home.

"It's just some stupid boy," your head once again rejoining the table. Was this really going to be your family conversation on her first night back.

"Mmm, boy trouble." She nodded like she was all too familiar with this topic. "Well I have all night, why don't you tell me all about it."

With a deep sigh you dove back into the story of your short-lived relationship with Bakugou. You made sure to leave out certain details. Your grandma did not need to know that Eijiro found you both making out in your bed.

When you had finished, she looked at you with surprise, "I didn't take you as the girl to start family drama for a boy."

"Grandma!" You threw your head back staring at the ceiling. You couldn't handle her comments if she was going to take Eijiro's side.

"What?" she threw her hands up in defense. "I've always told you to live your life to the fullest. And this is no different. If you'd have asked me months ago, I would have told you to do what made you happy. I wouldn't have told you to lie to your brother, but we can't change that now. If things are meant to be, they'll happen in their own time. But you don't need to be worried about any of that. So, go out, have fun, forget that boy and don't let your brother bother you about it too much."

Crossing your arms, you leaned back into your chair. "Maybe you're right."

"I'm always right dear," she gave you a wink and you couldn't help but laugh.

"You know dear, Kyoko sent me a picture of that boy she wants to set you up with. I think you should try it." Your mother returned with a tea for your grandma, sitting down to rejoin your conversation.

"No mom, I don't want to go on some fake date to boost some guys ego."

"Fake date? Well that sounds perfect. You're not pressured to start new with anyone and it'll let you have a chance to let loose and have fun with someone new." Your grandma looked at you as if she saw no problem with it at all. "Let me see this boy." She expectantly turned to your mom.

Groaning you slouched farther into your seat as they both gawked at the photo Kyoko had sent.

"You said no to this?" your grandma's incredulous look making you slouch down even further. "Let me see the other boy, I must know why she's acting like this." She again turned to your mother. Your mom pulled up one of the articles about you and Bakugou and showed her one of the pictures. She inspected the photo a moment before her eyes slowly looked up meeting yours. "I see," she said, like it held all the answers in the world. "It still doesn't change my mind; you should go out with the one Kyoko found for you at least once."

"Grandma, he's just going to end up being one of those shallow guys and I really don't feel like dealing with that."

"And how do you know? You haven't even met him." When you didn't respond she continued talking. "Are you really going to say no? What if I died tomorrow? Could you live with yourself knowing you said no to my dying request?"

You scoffed at her, hating how dramatic she was sometimes. "If I go, will you drop it?"

She mulled it over a moment. "Yes."

"Fine," you huffed. "Tell Kyoko, I'll go. But make it something quick." You turned your head, not wanting to see her smug smile. She always ended up getting what she wanted, and Eijiro thought you were bad.

The rest of the night, thankfully, was spent talking about your grandma's trip. She told you about the rest of her time in America, the different places she went to see. She even gave you a few souvenirs she thought you might like.

You all stayed up much later than you expected, you were completely exhausted from cleaning all day. With a yawn you got up, giving your parents and grandma a hug good night before you headed for Eijiro's room. Your grandma was going to be staying in your room, so you were forced to sleep in Eijiro's or use the couch. It felt weird to be in his room, knowing he was still upset with you. But you shrugged it off. Checking your phone, Kyoko told you that you'd have a coffee date tomorrow before you sent back to school.

Well that was fast. With a sigh you stared up at the ceiling. You tried to block out your thoughts so you could sleep, but it was no use. Your talk with your mom and grandma only made those memories of everything that had happened up until now flood your mind. Luckily Sora was there next to you, she gave you a bit of comfort, helping sooth your thoughts so you could fall asleep.

You woke up the next day to the sun illuminating the room. The voices of your family could be heard through the door. You got up, going to join them, not wanting to lose anytime you could spend with your grandma. The rest of the morning was spent talking, watching tv, anything your grandma wanted to do before it was time to get ready. You didn't really even want to, but your grandma forced you, telling you that you still needed to look nice even if you didn't want to go.

She followed you to your room, helping you get ready. You could only comply with what she wanted, because you still wanted to spend time with her until it was time for you to go. Once your makeup was the way she wanted it and you had put on the top and skirt she had picked out, you were ready to go. The whole ensemble wasn't that bad, you had to admit it was actually pretty cute.

"I'll be back soon, I promise." You hugged her goodbye, before hugging your parents.

"Just tell me how that date goes," she laughed, shooing you out of the house.

You shook your head at her, she was definitely something. Kyoko was waiting with a car for you, taking you to the coffee shop your date was at.

"Please just be nice, I know you don't really want to do this, but it'll be good for your publicity."

"I'll be on my best behavior."

She gave you a look like she didn't really believe you. "Alright, he's already here. His name is Hoshi. Remember, be nice!" She yelled as you climbed out of the car.

You gave her a small salute before you closed the door on her shaking her head at you. Hoshi, seemed fitting. You made your way into the café, doing a quick glance over the place you easily spotted him at one of the tables off to the side. With a closer look you realized that those photos really didn't do him any justice. How was it even possible for him to be even more attractive.

"Uh, hi?" you walked up giving him a small wave.

Instantly he stood up, "Hey! I was waiting till you got here to order. Have you been here before?"

"I can't say I have." You spoke slowly. Now that you were here, it felt weird, knowing that both of your agents had just thrown you two together without a real introduction.

"No worries let's go look at the menu," he led you up to the front. He seemed nice enough. You'd only just met him, but nothing stood out about him that screamed he was being fake.

Once you both placed your order, he brought you back to the table he was sitting at before. You sat down across from him, taking a real look at him. His hair was dark, almost black and his eyes were an icy blue that stood out against the contrast of his hair. He looked up, his eyes catching yours, he was smiling. It was a warm and friendly smile. He looked almost cute, like as if this was a real date.

You were still hesitant about what to expect from him, but so far he didn't give any indicators about who he really was.

"So," his words pulling you from your thoughts. "Tell me about yourself."
