《Bakugou X Kirishima's sister (Reader)》Chapter 30

The rest of your first week back at school continued uneventful. You and Eijiro went back to not speaking to one another and Kyoko gave you an earful for the now scabbed scratch on your face. At some point in the week you had received a text from Mitsuki asking you to dinner at her house Friday night. A sort of welcome back to school celebration dinner. You missed her and Masaru, but you declined, not wanting there to be a chance of running into Bakugou. It was now Thursday night and you had rushed home after class, picking up the things your mother cleared out for you.
*Bakugou's POV*
He sat at the usual table in the common room his friends used to study. The others occasionally chatting and asking questions. He, like usual, did not have much to say. He focused on the homework before him, trying not to let the others pull him from his work. He heard the front door open and close but kept his eyes on the page before him.
"Is she going somewhere?" Mina questioned, her attention moving from the person who walked in, to Kiri.
"Don't know, don't care," was his only response.
The context clues gave away who they were talking about and he couldn't help but take a quick glance up to see the girl he had been avoiding walking through the room with a suitcase behind her.
"Come on, Kiri. What happened between the two of you? You're back to where you were at the beginning of last semester."
"It doesn't matter," he muttered, looking through his pages of work, pretending to look for something to avoid the conversation.
Mina's voice held a tinge of sadness as she spoke, "Is she really leaving?"
An agitated sigh came from Kirishima before he responded, "She said something about spending time with our grandma. I really don't know."
Bakugou couldn't focus on his work after that, something compelling him to move from the table.
"I need some water." He stood up, bolting from the table. He could only hear Kaminari asking for some too as he walked away.
His feet took him passed the kitchen walking away from the others line of sight. He spotted her, making her way towards the girl's side of the dorm. His body pulling him to her side, she stopped a moment, glancing up at him, before she decided on ignoring him and continuing towards her room. Which was fair, he was the one who broke up with her. He wasn't sure why, but something urged him to talk to her.
"What's the big idea of turning down the old hag's dinner invitation?" His words came out harsher than he intended causing him to mentally cringe at the way he was acting.
She turned to face him again, a mixture of confusion and irritation on her face. She didn't respond, probably mulling over if she even wanted to give him a response. He spoke again before she decided to ignore him.
"I wasn't planning on going. If that's why you said no. I-" he paused, second guessing if he was saying to much. "I didn't want to come in between you and my parents. I know you guys are close." His gaze was averted from her the entire time he spoke. When she still didn't respond he looked down to read her expression. Her eyes stared at the wall next to them as if it held more interest than him.

"Fine, if you won't be there, I'll go."
There was another silence, neither one of you making the first move to leave. Waiting to see if the other had more to say.
"So, you're really leaving?" again his words sounded harsh even to him. As if accusing her of throwing in the towel on UA, on her time in Japan, and some small part of him, a part that would never admit it, saw it as her throwing in the towel on him.
This time she did look at him, her expression fueled with outrage, "What does it matter to you?"
He knew he shouldn't have asked that, because it wasn't supposed to.
His jaw clenched as his face remained blank, "It doesn't," again looking anywhere but her. "Mina just seemed upset at the idea of you leaving."
She sighed heavily as if this whole conversation was exhausting. "If you must know, for Mina's sake, I'm not going anywhere. My grandmothers coming to stay with my parents and my mom asked me to make some room in my closet for her. So that's what this is." She gestured to the suitcase beside her. "But I've got stuff to do. So, see you around." She left then, leaving him alone in the hallway.
*Your POV*
After your strange encounter with Bakugou you messaged Mitsuki to ask her if the offer was still there and if so, you would be at her dinner. She was happy to hear from you letting you know that you were always welcome in her home.
The remainder of your Thursday night was spent finding a place for your clothes from home, trying to distract yourself so you couldn't analyze your conversation with Bakugou. Once you had finished you decided to go to sleep, not wanting to be left with your thoughts. You got ready for bed, flipping the lights off you climbed into your bed checking your phone one last time. There was a message from Kyoko with a picture attached. You couldn't help but roll your eyes, this was the fourth time she's tried to set you up with some guy. You knew it was just some publicity stunt, but you didn't want to actually date anyone, much less fake date someone. That was enough to put you to bed for the night.
The next day was the same as the rest, you went to class, spent time with Jirou and Mina during your training and went back to your dorm. Since you no longer studied with your brother and your friends, you had started studying with Jirou. But since today was Friday you decided you wouldn't study tonight, instead you hung out in her room for a bit, listening to the new music she was constantly finding. You enjoyed your time together, glad that you had someone to spend your time with. But of course, your time was cut short, Denki showed up to pick up Jirou for their Friday night date.
"Hey, you ready?" he questioned after she opened the door for him. He peered inside her room spotting you sitting on her bed. "Hey Y/N! When's that double date happening?" he grinned at you, oblivious to what had gone down between you, Bakugou and Eijiro.
Jirou promptly jabbed him in his side with her elbow, giving him a will you shut up? Kind of stare.
"Oh, um right. Well I'll wait for you downstairs." He looked back at you an apologetic expression on his face before he left.

"Sorry about that." Jirou scratched the back of her head. "I tried to tell him you weren't dating anyone anymore, but you know him, he's kind of an airhead sometimes." She chuckled.
"It's cool, have a good time tonight, and tell me all about it when I come home Sunday, okay?" You smiled at her. Hoping she would know you weren't upset.
You went back to your dorm, changing into some jeans and t-shirt for dinner tonight. You grabbed an overnight bag as well, planning on going directly home after your night with Mitsuki and Masaru.
Walking to their house didn't take long and once you found yourself on their porch again you couldn't help but think about the last time you were here. It felt like such a long time ago, it was the first time Bakugou showed you what he was really like. The softer side of him that most people never get to see. You closed your eyes, running your fingers through your hair, trying to push those memories out of your head.
The second you rang the doorbell Mitsuki pulled the door open, barely giving you a moment to realize who it was, she pulled you into a hug.
"I missed you so much! I'm so glad you decided to come over."
You couldn't stop the smile from forming on your face. Her expressive personality was one thing that you loved about her. She welcomed you in, pulling you to the kitchen to find Masaru finishing up with dinner. The house felt a bit strange this time around without Bakugou and his mom bickering throughout dinner. It felt almost quieter and it didn't sit well with you.
Mitsuki didn't give you much time to really dwell on it though, asking you questions about school and how everything was going. You were grateful, she was a pretty good distraction and she barely left you a moment to be alone with your thoughts.
"I'm so glad school is going so well. I invited Katsuki home for the weekend, but he refused every time, little brat."
"Uh, that's okay. What's going on with you? How are things at work?" You quickly changed the subject. You knew she was his mom and he'd probably come up at some point, but you didn't want to talk about him if you didn't have too.
"It's been good, we're going to renovate the office soon. If you want, I can show you those plans! Oh, that reminds me, I have something for you!" she jumped out of her chair, hurrying out of the room.
She returned with a garment bag on a hanger. You had zero idea of what she could have brought you.
"I was going through a block and then suddenly when I was sketching, I designed this, and I instantly thought of you. Katsuki had mentioned something about you liking red and when I found this fabric, I knew I had to make this for you."
You mentally rolled your eyes at her mention of Bakugou. How very much like him to say that you were the one who liked red when it was he who said it was a nice color on you.
She unzipped the bag to reveal the red fabric she was talking about. You couldn't quite tell what it was until she pulled it out of the bag. She held a beautiful dress before you, the use of lace and tulle making the dress more formal, but the shorter skirt made it a bit more casual. Your jaw dropped at the sight of it, you couldn't believe someone had made something so stunning specifically for you. Getting up from your chair you slowly made your way over to her. One of your hands partially covering your mouth as you stared in awe, reaching out you softly touched the tulle fabric.
"I made sure to line the dress so the lace and tulle shouldn't be itchy at all." She beamed at you, clearly pleased with your reaction.
"It's so beautiful, I don't know if I can even accept this." You could feel tears pooling in your eyes. Not entirely sure why you wanted to cry. She had made clothes for you to wear before, but not like this. This was different and she'd never made anything with specifically you in mind.
"Oh hush, I made this for you. Of course, you can accept it. You don't have to wear it but if the need ever arises, you'll have it." Her smile still in place as she put it away handing you the hanger.
"I-" you didn't really know what to say. "Thank you so much." You swiftly put the bag down before wrapping your arms around her in a hug. You hid your face from her so that she couldn't see the tears as they ran down your cheeks. You took a step back, quickly wiping your tears before she noticed. "I'm so incredibly grateful."
"You know you're like family to me, so don't worry about it. I'm just glad you like it." She smiled, patting your hair, her motherly instincts coming through as she saw your red ringed eyes.
"I love it," you corrected her with a smile.
Masaru called the attention of both of you for dinner. Pulling down plates and cutlery and placing them on the counter so you could serve yourself. The rest of dinner you felt elated and couldn't stop smiling from the stories and adventures that they told you about their office. After dinner Mitsuki brought out the plans for their office and showed you how she was changing things and her new layout for the building.
It had been awhile since you had been that happy, they really knew how to bring out the best in you. They were a balance between calm and exuberant, Masaru's calm and reserved characteristics helped when Mitsuki's energetic side became overbearing. You hadn't realized how much you missed spending time with them, but before it got too late you decided to head home. Grabbing your things and the dress Mitsuki made you, you headed towards the front door.
"I had a great time guys, I really missed you both and thank you so much for the dress," you grinned, turning to look at both of them. They looked at you with the love a parent has for their child. They really were like a second set of parents to you.
"Come by anytime, we miss having you around." Mitsuki pulled you into a hug, this one not as much like her usual bear hugs.
You waved goodbye onelast time before you turned down the street towards your house.
