《Bakugou X Kirishima's sister (Reader)》Chapter 29

😊
The summer had finally come to an end. Shuffling around your dorm, you were just about finished with putting your clothes away and getting your things ready for tomorrow's classes. You had yet to say more than a few words to your brother since that day he'd walked in to find you and Bakugou. Both of you were still angry with one another, but for completely different reasons.
That night Bakugou never came back to your room. After his talk with your brother he completely ignored you, only talking with you when you had finally cornered him and demanded to know what had happened.
You remembered that night too well. He had avoided you at all costs for the remainder of your time at the beach house and the night before you left, you ran into him on your way outside. You remembered how emotional you had felt, your face hot with anger, upset because he was the one who promised things wouldn't change. He'd only looked down at you, his face completely blank and in an unusually monotone voice he told you, "Whatever was going on between us is over."
Your heart was completely crushed with how nonchalant he had acted about the whole thing. It was at that moment you understood what had happened. There was a choice between you and your brother, and he had picked Eijiro. Not that you blamed him, but it still hurt nonetheless that he had to make that decision at all. You'd never been so glad that your parents had taken separate cars on the ride home, you weren't sure what would have happened if you'd been stuck with your brother and Bakugou the entire way home.
After your family vacation, your class was supposed to meet at UA for a special summer training course. And your class did partake in that, but you opted out of it. After receiving special permission from Principal Nezu, you spent the rest of the summer focusing on your work instead. And even though it wasn't actual hero training he agreed, saying something along the lines of "Public image is important in your career as a pro."
Even though it wasn't what you wanted to do, you needed any sort of distraction to keep you from dwelling on this situation for too long. Kyoko was ecstatic to have you in the office every day, because you purposefully showed up every day. When you couldn't make plans with Mina or Jirou over the weekend, you found yourself in the office. Most days you would be gone the entire day, only coming home when it had turned dark.
Your parent's concern for you soon became evident, your mother even talked with you one night to try and find out what was wrong. You could remember that moment too, the look of sadness on her face as she questioned why you never wanted to be home. It's not like you were trying to make her sad, you only wanted to prevent yourself from feeling miserable.
Her words followed you as you would leave every morning, "Dear, I was hoping to have you home this summer. But so far, it's like you're back in New York again. And even when you are home, it's like you've checked out. You've stopped playing your music, your games, reading and honey, I'm just worried about you."
You smiled to yourself, appreciating her concern for you. But at the time you weren't ready to talk about what had happened. You weren't trying to be dramatic or anything, you just didn't want to deal with your emotions, unpacking everything just felt extremely tiresome.

When you were done putting everything away in your dorm you went to get ready for bed. Starting with a shower downstairs and brushing your teeth in your room before you turned off the lights and got into bed. You double checked your alarm, knowing that your brother couldn't care less if you woke up on time, he'd probably revel in the idea of you not showing up at all. Your mom had sent you a message to remind you to come home this weekend to pick up some more things you had left behind. You responded to let her know you'd be there at the end of the week and to tell her goodnight.
You really didn't even want to go to class tomorrow. You haven't seen, much less talked with Bakugou since that night and the idea of having to somewhat face both of them made you anxious. But you tried not to dwell on it too much as you fell asleep. Instead, you focused on spending time with Jirou or one of the other girls for the semester.
The ringing of your alarm instantly woke you up, normally you'd hit snooze, but your unease about the day kept you awake. You took your time getting ready, not wanting to spend any extra time just sitting in your desk waiting for class to start. You walked slowly across campus to your classroom, almost the entirety of your class was inside by the time you made it in. But you obviously didn't waste enough time, there was still about 10 minutes till class started.
Luckily, Eijiro was across the room talking with Bakugou, so you could reach your seat without having to deal with him. As you made your way down the aisle of desks Jirou grabbed your arm stopping you.
"What's up? I haven't heard from you in a while." She looked at you with concern in her eyes.
You gave her a half-hearted smile, "Oh nothing really, sorry I've just been busy with work things."
She looked skeptical, but conceded in letting you pass by. You slumped into your seat, leaning back so you could stare at the ceiling, hoping this day would be over quickly.
Class started like normal, with each teacher coming in to teach their subject of expertise. You sat in your desk trying to see around your brother to write your notes. Most times Eijiro would slouch down a little to let you look over him, but not today. He sat up even straighter than normal as if trying to block your view.
Glaring at the back of his head you whispered, "Move your head, Eijiro. I can't see the board."
"Sounds like a you problem," he whispered back. Moving his head to the same side you were leaning to see around him.
"It wouldn't be a me problem if you had a smaller head," you said through clenched teeth, kicking his chair, trying to get him to move out of the way.
He swiftly turned to face you, "What's your problem?"
"What's yours?" you bit back. The two of you glaring at one another a moment, daring the other to say something else.
Ectoplasm cleared his throat, causing both of you to slowly glance over at him.
"Am I interrupting something?" he questioned, staring both of you down.
"No sir," you both grumbled at the same time as you went back to taking notes.
After what felt like forever the bell rang, dismissing you to lunch. Jirou and Mina walked on either side of you, discussing what they had done over the rest of the summer. You walked with them in silence, listening to what they had to say as you made your way to your usual table.

"What was up with you and Kiri in class?" Mina asked once you settled into your chairs.
You moved your food around with your fork as you contemplated how much information you wanted to reveal to her. "It was nothing, just his big head in the way of the board," you mumbled, ultimately pushing your tray away, deciding you weren't really feeling hungry.
Jirou gave you a knowing look, she was the only one you had confided in during this whole ordeal. She knew the real reason the two of you were on thin ice. But she didn't say anything, that was a big reason you liked having her as a friend, she really knew how to read a room.
They didn't mention anything about you or your brother after that, timidly going back to talking about how everyone's summer had ended. You tried to listen to what they had to say, but you really couldn't focus on their conversation. Instead your eyes wandered around the room, spotting Midoriya, Iida and Todoroki across the room, looking deep in conversation. They always seemed to be discussing something serious. Your eyes continued around the cafeteria, seeing all the kids from the different courses the school offered. You spotted a particular purple haired boy across the room, sitting with some students from class B. His eyes met yours for a brief moment before your gaze drifted around the room.
Eijiro's bright hair stood out as you reached his table. He was laughing at something Denki must have said. They all looked like they were having a good time, well except Bakugou who just looked annoyed to be there. With a sigh you dropped your gaze, picking up a bottle of soda you selected in the lunch line. Twisting the cap off you took a quick drink, feeling the tingle of the bubbles run down your throat. Setting it down you left the cap in your fingers, fiddling and twisting it on the table, letting it spin until it stopped.
Suddenly you stood up, causing the girls to look at you. "I'm not feeling to good; I'm just going to head back to class," you declared to no one in particular.
They all nodded, offering hopeful comments for you to feel better before you grabbed your still full tray and trashed it. You weren't trying to be a downer, but for some reason you really couldn't get into the lunch conversation. Probably from your lack of socializing during the summer.
You walked slowly down the hall, lost in your thoughts, trying to pep talk yourself into feeling better. You could hear steps coming up behind you and you saw their shoes come into view as they synced their steps with yours. Glancing up, you found Shinso standing beside you with his usual blank expression in place.
"Someone doesn't look too happy to be back in school," his monotone voice sounded soothing compared to the emotions swirling inside you.
You chuckled without humor, "You could say that. So, what brings you over here?"
His steps faltered a moment before he composed himself, "I just needed to get some water and you happened to be walking here."
This time you couldn't help but laugh, "I don't know Shinso, you chose to come to the water fountain down the hall when there's one by the cafeteria?"
"The waters better at this one," he said quickly, as if he expected you to question him.
"If you say so."
He sighed, "Fine, I know we're not friends or anything, but I noticed you didn't look entirely happy back there and I guess I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You just seem like a nice person and after working with you in class and for the final I figured I could at least do that."
A genuine smile crossed your lips. He didn't seem the type to consider many people friends and it made you happy to know that he noticed that you were upset and concerned himself with checking on you.
"Well thanks, maybe, if you want. We can be friends," you smiled up at him.
He only nodded in response, not saying much of anything until you reached your class. Saying your goodbyes, you headed back to your seat to rest your head on your desk while you waited for class to start.
You didn't have much time to be lost in your thoughts before people started returning to the classroom. The bell rang bringing Aizawa back to the front of the room to start your hero classes. He decided to take you all to one of the training rooms to practice with one another before the real training started. He wanted you all to break off into groups to spar for the day and work on perfecting your moves.
You instantly turned to Jirou and Mina, your usual group for these types of classes. As you walked towards them, you felt a hand wrap around your arm before spinning you around. Your brother towered over you, his normal happy demeanor was gone and replaced with irritation.
"Let's work together sis," his words sounded harsh to your ears.
You crossed your arms, not letting him intimidate you. "Why? We never work together."
"We can finish that conversation from earlier." He walked away, expecting you to follow and you did. Rolling your eyes, your steps mirrored his as he led you across the room.
You could sense the unease from the class as you both walked away together. Eijiro only ever acted this way with you. You were sure no one in the class had ever experienced this harsher side of him.
He turned to face you before he spoke, "Don't hold back."
"Wasn't planning on it."
He barely let you finish your sentence before he rushed you, throwing his fist directly at you, but that was to be expected and you easily dodged him. The thing about Eijiro was that his moves were easily predictable. This wasn't always the case, but usually when he was mad at you he wouldn't think his actions through and just moved. This made it easier for you to control the situation.
"So, were you ever going to tell me about the two of you?" He asked his question between each swing he took at you.
You dodged effortlessly, "I was planning on it, but it never seemed to be the right time."
"It obviously never would have been. Do you just not care about my feelings? I asked you to stay away."
His movements were getting quicker the more he spoke. He was getting too close, you pushed out with your arm activating your quirk to push him away from you. At the last moment he swung his arm to the side of you and as you pushed him away his hand sliced against your face. You could feel the sting of the cut and instantly reached up wiping your fingers across where he had hit you. You could feel the blood pooling at your fingers and with a quick glance you could see it dripping down towards the floor. You knew that would end up becoming a scar, similar to the one Eijiro already had.
"Kyoko is going to kill you." That was all you could think of to say at the moment. The last month or so of your life had been spent in her office. Her biggest concern with your hero work was the injuries that were sure to come with the job.
"Like I care," he bit at you as he ran back towards you.
This time you didn't let him get close to you, instead grabbing him with your quirk, you prevented him from taking another step. You picked him up, his feet now hanging above the ground. This summer you hadn't completely ignored your training. You'd actually learned a thing or two, practicing at the gym in the office when Kyoko didn't need you. One thing you had began to develop was using your quirk on one part of an object or person.
For Eijiro that meant he hung in the air with your quirk wrapped around his throat. He struggled to breathe clawing at his throat, trying to pry your invisible quirk off of him. You pulled him so he was in front of you, rage glowing in your eyes, but you didn't know what to say to him. Your anger fueled your actions, you were still so upset with him, at yourself, at this whole situation and you didn't know what to do about it.
Before you could even think of what to say, Eijiro fell to the ground and you could hear heavy footsteps coming up behind you. Aizawa's hair was lifted and disapproval clear on his face.
"Enough, both of you. I don't know what's going on, but it needs to end now. I should send you both to the principal, but I understand siblings can bicker. If this happens again, you're both expelled. Got it?" He was seething with anger as he all but yelled at you both.
The two of you nodded, averting your gaze from his glare.
"Get out of my class," he demanded, pointing to the door.
You both begrudgingly walked out of class and made your way back to the dorms in silence.
