《Bakugou X Kirishima's sister (Reader)》Chapter 24

It had been a week since you'd been home for the summer, your parents ready to disown both you and your brother. The two of you had fought every day so far and today had been no different. You didn't mean to argue, but you were so agitated lately, it didn't help when your brother would get on you about it and say things like relax, it's the summer, why are you so tense. Kyoko also had been on your back since the day of the practical, asking for sponsored posts so she could approve them before they were posted. She had bombarded you with different things you needed to do since you'd been in school. And the cherry on top of your bad mood, the true root cause was that you hadn't spoken to Katsuki since you walked away from him at the final.
You had told him to find you when he was over it, but he still hadn't made a move to talk with you. It only made you feel even more upset because you didn't think it was that hard for him to at least apologize for how he had acted. The clanging of pots and pans pulled you out of your thoughts. You'd been sitting at the table, scrolling through your phone, with your parents working to get dinner ready. Glancing over at them you could see as they moved around the room, working on two different things yet somehow, they managed not to get in each other's way.
"Y/N, sweetie can you get your brother in here for me please?" your mom asked, as she pulled out a couple of ingredients from the fridge.
You nodded in response before making your way to the living room. Eijiro was sitting on the couch, headset on, controller in hand. He was leaning forward, closer to the TV as he was lost in whatever game he had been playing.
"I don't get how you're still so bad at this, Denki," your brother laughing, not breaking his eyes away from the screen.
Walking to him you nudged his knee, "Mom wants you."
"Can it wait, kind of in the middle of something." Eijiro didn't even glance at you.
"You know mom, probably not," and if on cue you could hear her calling his name.
"Oh, come on, I can't just pause this," you brother complained.
You rolled your eyes, sitting on the couch with your brother, "Cry to someone who cares, E."
Without skipping a beat your brother mimicked your voice, "Cry to someone who cares, E."
"Excuse me?" you gave your brother an incredulous look.
In the same annoying high-pitched voice, he repeated you, "Excuse me?"
You gave him a glare, "You want to try that again?"
He tried not to laugh, and in his stupid mocking voice he spoke again, "I'm Y/N, and I've been nothing but a jerk all week," he couldn't hold his laughter back anymore.
"That's it," you lunged across the couch at your brother. Instantly jabbing your hand into his side, knowing that was his weak spot. "You want to laugh, why don't you laugh a little harder?"
He tried to move away from you, laughing, "I-I'm sorry, stop." He couldn't stop laughing in between his words. He finally got a hold of your wrist pulling you away. Sora had gotten up from where she was sleeping and began jumping and barking at you both, wanting to play.

"Will you both quit it already, you've been at each other's throats since you've been home. Eijiro I need you in the kitchen." Your mom had walked in, about ready to separate the both of you.
"Be right there," your brother called after her as she left the room. "Here play for me, the games going to start." Eijiro put his headset on you and shoved his controller into your hands.
"No, E, wait. I don't want to-" but he had already walked away from you. Looking at the screen you could see your character, you didn't know what game this was, but it looked like something he'd made you play before.
"Hey Y/N! I guess you're playing for Kiri?" You heard Denki's happy voice through your headphones.
"I guess so," you moved throughout the map, following someone named Sparky, you could only assume it was Denki.
"Don't worry, you'll be fine, just aim and shoot the guys in red."
A voice you hadn't heard in what felt like forever, growled through your ears, "You better not make us lose Dumbass."
You knew he couldn't see you, but you couldn't help but roll your eyes. You moved throughout the game, shots firing around you. The map that was chosen was an empty mall, your team starting on one side, the enemy team on the other. Everyone split off moving further into the mall. You weren't good at games like these, but your brother would always ask you to play with him when you were little. Opening a door, you yelped slightly in surprise, pressing the trigger button. It was just a mannequin. You released a breath; you couldn't help but get panicky during these games and you were much too quick to pull the trigger when something spooked you.
"You good, Y/N?" Denki asked, but his voice sounded distracted as he focused on the game.
"Yup, just fine."
You had to get it together, your brother would kill you if you messed up his score. Running through the building, throwing grenades, your finger glued to the trigger button whenever someone from the enemy team showed up. The game was overall fast paced, and words would periodically flash across the screen about accomplishments and kill streaks. It wasn't that you were even good at this game, Eijiro usually swept the floor with you. Yet somehow your jumpy game play kept you alive for longer then you thought.
The match ended and the games stats appeared on the screen, your brother's gamer tag showing up in the second slot. The boys had gone silent as they all read their screen.
Sero was the first to speak, "Y/N are you secretly good at this game?"
"Huh? No?" You were confused as to why they would think that.
Denki spoke up next, "Well how'd you get so many kills?"
"You do know I have a brother, right? Do you know how many times he's made me play stupid games like this?" You didn't understand why they were asking you all these questions. You'd only played the game like you would with your brother.
"If she keeps this up, she's going to replace you, Denki." Sero laughed into his mic.
"I'm not that bad," Denki cried back in protest.

The game started again, when Bakugou finally spoke, "You didn't suck that much dumbass, but it was probably just beginners' luck. Don't screw it up now."
You hated that he knew how to get under your skin, you turned in the game aiming for him and pressing your finger onto the trigger button. His character falling over, waiting to be respawned into the game.
"What the fuck?!" he yelled so loud, you winced from the pain it caused your ears.
"Oops, my finger slipped." You could hear Denki and Sero erupt in laughter as they went into the mall.
The four of you continuing to play the game, Denki spoke up again, "Hey Y/N, I heard you were seeing someone."
Your heart nearly skipping a beat at what he said. His words had shocked you so much you had stopped paying attention and you'd been killed. Your screen changing waiting to put you back into the game.
"And where did you hear that?" You kept your voice even, almost indifferent.
"Well I was talking with Jirou and she may have mentioned something. But I was only asking because I want to take Jirou out and I figured if you had a boyfriend, we could do a double date."
You couldn't help but smile at the thought, but it didn't last long as you thought about your situation with Katsuki. "Well I'd say sure, but I think my boyfriends got to stop acting like an idiot first."
As if on cue, Bakugou started grumbling indecipherable words and then proceeded to yell an obscene amount of profanities when he was killed as well.
The match ended again, the stats screen popping up but before you could look at it you felt something jab into both of your sides and your brother made a ghoulish noise, trying to scare you. You instantly jumped and screamed in surprise.
"Eijiro, what the hell is wrong with you?!" He doubled over laughing. Sora once again jumping around you both excited, trying to grab someone's attention.
He'd finally stopped laughing long enough to tell you dinner was ready. You shook your head at him and started heading for the dining room. You heard him talking to his friends before he logged off.
"Hope she didn't suck too much guys, but I've got dinner, I'll jump on later."
Your family gathered around the table, talking about the normal things, like your parent's day at work and what you and Eijiro planned to do with the rest of your summer. Your mom stopped eating and looked at you with an almost nervous look.
"Dear, have you talked with Kyoko lately?"
Your face scrunched up in confusion, "I try not to, why?"
"Well, she messaged me today about one of your sponsorships, and it involves a free weeklong trip. I figured you wouldn't mind so I told her you would do it."
You could only stare at her with your mouth fallen open.
"Don't look at me like that, it's a free trip. We'd be able to stay at a beach house in a small town not too far from here. The owner of the house is trying to drum up business and figured there would be no better way then through social media. So, you really only need to post about the trip." She smiled at you.
You mulled it over, you hated doing things like this, but it was a pretty great offer. Your parents haven't taken time off work in a while and it would definitely have been nice to treat them to a trip. You looked over at her and smiled, "Fine, sounds good."
"Oh, that's great honey! We head over on Monday, the house has a private beach and is right by some hot springs, it's going to be so much fun!" She gushed in excitement, smiling happily at you and Eijiro, "I know it's short notice, but Kyoko did say the house can comfortably fit 6-8 people so if you both want you can probably invite a couple of your friends."
Your mind instantly went to Jirou, you both had become such great friends this semester and you wanted to see her before your class started their summer training. You picked up your phone, sending her a text. Once you hit send, you looked over at your brother who was also on his phone. Your eyes went wide in realization, you knew exactly who he would invite. Part of you hoped he'd say no, like he did to most things.
Your family had returned to dinner, and you couldn't help but think about the roller coaster of feelings you'd been on this last semester. You'd never gotten around to telling your brother what had been going on between you and Bakugou. Not wanting to distract him from his finals you were going to wait until the break, but now that you both were in this weird stage of not talking, you figured what was the point. Why even open that can of worms if you weren't even sure if your relationship would last through the summer.
Trying to partake in your family's dinner talk you found it difficult to pay attention. The second everyone was finished you and Eijiro cleared the table, cleaning up the dishes and putting the rest of the food away. You'd looked at your phone to find that Jirou had excitedly accepted your invitation to the beach house this next week. Well, if you had to be stuck with your brother and Bakugou, at least you'd have Jirou there to keep you company.
Eijiro made his way back to the living room, logging on to join his friends in whatever game they were playing. You could hear his joking and laughter as you walked by, heading to your room. Sora stood up, trotting over to where you were. You couldn't help but smile, your brother looked so happy and much more confident than when you both were in middle school. As if he had heard your thoughts, he looked up at you.
"Hey," his voice pulling you out of your thoughts. "Want to watch a movie later?"
"Sure, don't forget the popcorn this time." You laughed, but as you turned back towards your room you couldn't stop the smile from falling from your face. Your feelings of doubt returning. Was this still right? You weren't sure, perhaps you and Bakugou drifting apart was for the best.
