《Bakugou X Kirishima's sister (Reader)》Chapter 15

You sat in class, taping your foot on the floor. Aizawa had decided to give your class a pop quiz on basic first aid after Denki failed to give a proper answer to your teacher's question. It wasn't entirely hard; it was a subject most hero students learn in the first year. But Denki had a way of forgetting things which would always lead to quizzes like this. Looking over your answers, you figured that was as good as it was going to get, no point in overthinking it and changing them now. You leaned back in your chair playing with your pencil. Aizawa never let students leave the class until everyone had finished and knowing how indecisive Denki is, your class would be here for a while.
You glanced across the room at Bakugou who was staring out the window, you should have figured he would have been one of the first done, he always took his studies seriously. Scanning the class your eyes landed on your brother in front of you who looked like he was weighing his options on a question. As the time progressed more people started finishing the quiz and it wasn't too long until everyone was done.
Passing your papers to the front, Aizawa walked by collecting them as he spoke, "This may have been a subject from last semester, but that doesn't mean you guys can slack off and forget. This topic will follow you throughout your time as a hero, put it to memory." He stopped at the last desk before he turned back towards your class, "Alright, class dismissed."
Everyone began to stand up and collect their things. You walked back towards the dorms with Mina. She was rambling about the quiz, but you weren't really paying attention. Now that class was over, it was time for the study date you had made with Bakugou. You'd tried not to think about it all day, it wasn't like it was any different than studying with your friends and you'd studied with only Bakugou before. So why did you feel nervous about it?
"I'm sure we can review some stuff tonight with the group." Mina spoke, pulling you from your thoughts.
Right, your usual study group would still be meeting, you'd forgotten you wouldn't be joining them tonight.
"Actually, Mina I'm not feeling too good. My stomach's been hurting since lunch, I don't think I'm going to be able to meet tonight."
"Oh no, are you okay?" she turned to look at you, concern on her face.
"I'll be fine, I think I just need to lay down for a bit." You both walked up to your doors, pausing before you went inside.
"Well, if you need anything, just let me know okay?"
"I promise you I will," you gave her a small smile before you opened your door and slipped inside. Leaning against the door you sighed, you didn't want to lie to her, but you really didn't know what else to say. You put your bag on the floor and laid back on your bed, needing a moment to just relax. Math wasn't your worst subject, but Ectoplasm loved to make his tests notoriously difficult. He had a chapter test coming up this Friday, figuring that would take the longest out of your work you pulled out the study guide he had given the class. Needing some kind of background noise, you turned on your computer and pulled up one of your favorite playlists.

Straightening up your pillows and blankets you made a spot for you to lay out your books. Settling into your bed you began the first problem of the study guide. You didn't get far when you heard your door open and close.
"Sitting like that's going to hurt your back, dumbass. Why don't you use your desk?"
"The chair isn't comfortable, and we've been sitting in desks all day," you glanced up at Katsuki before you reached for you calculator.
"Tch," was his only response and without even looking you knew he rolled his eyes at you. He took a seat on the floor by you, leaning against your bed. Pulling out one of his books, you both got to work. It wasn't long before he rolled his head back onto your bed to look up at you. "So, tell me again how this is considered a date?"
You chuckled, looking over towards him, "Well I think we have to get through the actual study part first."
"And what's the actual date part?" he asked, turning back towards his work.
"You know for someone who complains that I bug him when he's doing his homework, you're sure stalling on your work."
"Shut up, dumbass."
Holding back a laugh you went back to your study guide. You'd gotten through about half of it when you decided to move on to something else. You'd have the rest of the week to finish up your math. Cementoss had given you some English work and Aizawa had given you a chapter to read in one of your hero course books. You leaned back onto your bed, not quite ready to start the rest. Taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes, a nap sounded great about now.
"I know you're not done with your homework." You heard Katsuki say. Rolling onto your stomach you looked over his shoulder to see what he was doing.
"I just wanted to take a break," you spoke defensively.
He turned his head slightly to look at you, "Did you want to work on homework or not? You need to make up your mind."
"I'll get back to it, my brains just starting to turn into mush."
Katsuki shook his head at you before finishing the English homework. He turned to face you, "What are you looking at?"
Ignoring his question, you asked your own, "The drum set in your room, do you actually play it?"
"It's obviously not just for looks." He seemed annoyed at your question.
"Well are you any good at it?" you leaned forward, genuinely curious.
He pulled back slightly, not expecting this line of questioning. "Uh I guess."
"Oh don't be so modest now, we both know you think you're great at everything," you laughed.
He made a face, "Because I am great at everything."
You smiled in response, he was definitely conceited and full of himself but it wasn't like the other guys you encountered. Most of them acted that way, like a front to seem better than everyone else and make the people around them feel inferior. But Katsuki was different. You knew he truly believed that he was the best. Even though he was a jerk about it, he didn't actually work this hard to only make everyone else feel less, it was to prove to himself that he was number one, in anything he tried at.

The music you had put on earlier filled the silence that sat between you now. The longer you looked at him the more you realized that the hard demeanor he always had was seeming to fade. It was slow at first but you could begin to see the change in his expression. You weren't sure if Katsuki had a soft side, but he must of, you've caught glimpses of it. It was almost like he had heard you because once you had realized it, he must have too, his usual grimace returned.
"Do you always listen to shitty music when you study?"
"You're acting pretty mean to someone you supposedly like." You smirked, sitting back up on your bed.
"I never said I liked you, I said I feel some way about you." He grumbled more so to himself then you.
You shook your head, but you couldn't really say anything in response, it's not like you had revealed your feelings in words either. So you opened your English book getting back to the work ahead of you. As you worked you couldn't completely focus on what was in front of you. The back of your mind still wondered about what was happening between the two of you. It was apparent there was something you both mutually felt but with neither one of you wanting to admit it, where did that leave you. It was made evident physically, you'd never shared a kiss with anyone that left you as breathless as with Katsuki but with how closed off you both were could you ever share something like that emotionally?
"What's with that face?"
"Huh? What face?" you didn't realize how lost in thought you truly were. You'd stopped writing all together and found yourself staring at the English book before you.
"You looked like you really mulling something over. I didn't think the English work was really that deep." Katsuki was staring at you like he was trying to read your expression, find the true reason for it.
"Uh, it's nothing I'm just stuck on this question." you pointed to some random question at the end of the section.
Katsuki stood up, "Move." Pushing you over he sat down on your bed with you. He pulled the book out of your hands and read the question you had pointed too. "Are you being serious, dumbass?"
"What?" you took the book back and looked at the question you had pointed at. It was asking to define some word you knew could be found in bold on one of the past pages. Out of all the questions you picked you had to pick this one.
"Will you stop goofing off and just get to work?" he huffed grabbing one of the many hero textbooks you had and flipped to the pages Aizawa had assigned.
"You want to read that out loud so I don't have to read it later?" His eyes looked over the book at you in a glare. "Can you blame me for asking, I just want to listen to your voice." You smirked back at him.
His face flushed slightly before he collected himself. "Will you stop being annoying?"
You smiled to yourself mischievously, he always thought you were being annoying, but you wondered what affect you could truly have on him. He obviously was hiding how he felt, the same way you were but could you break through, even for a moment. You turned towards him, leaning into him, you emulated your mothers signature puppy dog eyes, "Please, Katsuki?"
He froze, looking down at you, "Uh, I- what? N-no." you could hear the nervousness in his voice as he spoke.
You looked down, faking disappointment, "But why not?" your eyes glancing up to meet his. But the second you looked up, a pillow was shoved into your face.
"Will you stop looking at me like that?" he muttered. Tearing the pillow away you could see Katsuki completely turned away from you.
Biting your lower lip to keep from smiling you spoke, "Okay, fine but only if you read the chapter."
You could hear him sigh, "fine." He picked the textbook back up and you went back to your English homework. It wasn't too long before you were both done and successfully completed your homework.
You shoved your books off your bed, "Want to watch a movie?"
"Sure," he leaned back into the bed putting his arms over his face, he looked exhausted.
"Are you tired already? It's like only 6."
"When you get up at 5 you go to bed early dumbass."
You expression turned to one of disgust, "Why would anybody willingly get up at 5 in the morning?"
He sighed, "You know there's more to being a hero than just the textbooks right?"
You weren't sure if he was being sarcastic or if he truly thought you were that dumb. But it made sense, he wanted to be number one and to do that you needed to work harder and do more than just what was done in class. That included training. You got up, turning on a movie anyway. When you returned to your bed, Katsuki got up and sat beside you. About 15 minutes had passed when you realized Katsuki had somehow gotten closer to you. And it took about another 15 minutes for him to grab a hold of your hand. You turned to look at him.
"If you say some smartass comment I swear," but he didn't finish his threat. You just bit your lip and turned back towards the movie. You'd be lying if you didn't say it gave you butterflies to feel his hand in yours but you just continued to watch the movie, not wanting to put him in a bad mood with your remarks.
You were surprised that Katsuki hadn't fallen asleep during the movie from how exhausted he looked earlier. But the credits started rolling and he was still up. He sat up and stretched his arms.
"I guess that movie didn't entirely suck." He turned to look at you, "But next time I'm picking what we're doing for our date."
That was shocking, "Oh really?" the curiosity in you rose, "And I don't suppose you might give a hint as to what that would be?"
He leaned towards you, "Not a chance." Yourheart rate rose as he closed the distance between you and gave you the lightestkiss. Your body's automatic response was to lean in but as you moved towardshim he moved away. He laughed at your confused expression. "Don't you know you'resupposed to always leave them, what did they say in the movie? Wanting more?"He smirked at you as he got up to leave. "See you tomorrow, dumbass."
