When you awoke the first time it was painful, painful but bearable. You hadn't been able to feel your limbs... or anything for that matter. Which had worried you but not as much as the unfamiliar room or bed you lay upon. The bed was soft and the blanket that lay over you warm but the room was dark except for the strange glowing liquid that coursed from a plastic bag down a tube and into your left arm. You had attempted to pull out the tube but was surprised to find both your arms were strapped down, along with your legs. What was even more worrying was the hefty cast that encompassed your right arm. You struggled as you heard footsteps from outside the room quickly approaching. The effort you had put into your attempt at resisting your binding had worn the little strength you had though and you slipped back into the empty darkness that was unconsciousness.

The second time you woke up the first thing you realized was that the strange liquid and tubes were gone. The second thing that was noticeable was that you weren't alone. He was sitting there, a notepad in one hand and a pen in the other. You shuffled uncomfortably when his eyes shifted to meet your own. You froze in place as you stared at the tall skeleton who had attacked you.

"Hmm, it seems you have finally awoken," He stated plainly. His voice was methodical, not cold but also not filled with feeling. He was simply stating what was true and that was all. The way he held himself screamed professionalism. He was dressed in a white lab coat, a beige turtleneck and black slacks. A name tag was clipped on the breast of his coat and read Dr. Gaster.

You tried to speak but your throat felt nonexistent as no sound came out. You felt slightly ridiculous as you opened and closed your mouth like a gaping fish.

The man, Gaster, you decided to call him that, ignored your actions and instead took your left arm into his own gloved hands. Laying to boney phalanges over your wrist he waiting for a few seconds before jotting down a note on his pad.

"It appears your signals are normal... or at least what I assume is normal for a human," He muttered the last part. You didn't move your eyes from the skeletal mans.

He continued to ignore you as he jotted down more notes and almost blinded you with a torch light. Once he appeared to be done he stood and pocketed his notepad.

"I do not know who you are, nor do I care to know who you are however I must tell you that the only reason you are here and not another soul in our kings collection is because I find myself backed into a corner," The doctor stated, his eyes not meeting yours purposefully. "I would regard yourself as a very lucky person right now."

You couldn't completely understand what the man was saying but the tone of his voice made it very clear to you that he did not truly care what happened to you.

Swallowing you nodded as the Doctor turned towards the door, "I will return to check on you shortly."

He slipped out of the room, closing the door quietly behind him.

After a few moments you felt yourself relax slightly. Something about the intensity of the man set you on edge. You looked around the room, it was still dim but you could make out a few different objects such as a plain dresser and bedside table. The bed itself was longer and wider then a normal single bed. Your limbs were still bound to the bed but now you found you could sit up and lift your hands to a certain point without restriction. Not enough to be able to untie the bindings but enough to do small activities such as grab the glass of water that sat on the bedside table. Taking a generous sip of the water you felt your throat begin to feel soothed by the coolness. Placing the glass back down you decided to check your injuries.

You winced at the collection of bruises that spread along your limbs, each a different colour of blue, purple, green and yellow. The largest ones spread along your legs and along your side. Lightly prodding at them with your fingers you decided to trust that the Doctor was right when he said you were showing normal signs. Then you studied the cast that encompassed your arm. You hadn't noticed it previously but now you could feel the throbbing that emanated from beneath the cast. You sighed as you lay back against the headboard of the bed.

Looking over at the dresser you noticed a neatly folded coat and your pair of boots... Your eyes widened as you looked down at the dressing gown you were wearing.

I wasn't wearing this when I arrived!

Before you could say anything a creaking sound distracted you.

Your eyes darted towards the door.

Good! I need a few words with this "Doctor"!

Surprisingly it was not the doctor who appeared in the doorway but was instead a familiar and much smaller skeleton.

"Paps?" You asked, surprised by the rough croakiness of your own voice.

The skeleton child approached with something in his arms. As he got closer you noticed it was a tray with food on it.

Your stomach growled as the smell of pasta wafted upwards. Paps laid the tray on your lap before climbing onto the bed beside you. He beamed up at you, "I-I MADE IT WITH DADDY."

"It smells amazing. You must be a very good cook," You told the beaming child.

Taking a fork you shoved a heap of pasta and cheese into your mouth, letting out a satisfied moan.

This is amazing.

Swallowing you gave Paps a thumb up, "You're an amazing cook, Paps."

Paps giggled happily at the approval of his cooking, "Daddy taught me."

Daddy?

Paps must have noticed your puzzled expression as he answered, "Daddy is the one who is fixin you up... I toll him that you didn wanna hurt me."

You recalled the moment before you had passed out, when Paps had been standing over you as the man... the Doctor attacked you.

That man is Paps father.

You busied yourself with shoveling pasta into your mouth as thoughts buzzed around your mind.

So he attacked me because he thought I was attacking his kid? I mean sure I'd probably be worried if my kid showed up with some stranger... but to the point of wanting to kill that person...

You sighed pushing the thoughts to the side, your head was aching and all the worrying wasn't helping. You finished the last of the past and downed the water before placing the tray on the bedside table. Paps had been telling you all about his cooking lessons and you half listened to the excited child, eyes drooping from tiredness.

Paps noticed, "You must be tired. You can sleep if you wan... I'll protect you." The little skeleton declared, puffing out his chest.

You giggled and lay down, your head sinking into the soft pillow, "I trust you to do a good job, my little guard."

Paps let out a strange little giggle again as he nodded excitedly. Your eyes drooped further as sleep began to take over your mind.

The third time you awoke was the final time. You felt incredibly rejuvenated, sure your arm was still in a cast and limbs stiff from long periods of inactivity, but you were mentally buzzing. You sat up and noticed that a plate of cookies, flavoured milk and a note sat on the bedside table. Paps himself was gone though.

You munched on a cookie as you read the note, its contents scrawled in red crayon;

Dear Human,

I had to leave because Daddy said I had to sleep.

I have made you cookies.

Please enjoy,

Your guard,

Papyrus

The spelling wasn't the best but you managed to make out the message and smiled.

You polished off the rest of the cookies and drank the milk. Having finished you stared around the room and noticed nothing had changed since the last time you had been awake. You relaxed, closing your eyes, and tried to make sense of what you knew.

I am ______

I fell from Mount Ebbott into this place... wherever this place may be.

Monsters are real and I am currently being kept in ones... house?

And I am sitting here having just eaten cookies like everything is completely normal...

I have so totally lost it.

You opened your eyes again as the door opened. This time it was the Doctor.

"You are awake. Good this will be easier then," He stated.

You swallowed, "Why am I here?"

The skeleton ignored you.

"What do you want with me?"

Nothing

"Where am I?"

Still nothing

"Will you listen to me?"

"I am listening. I simply do not see anything to be gained from answering," He said. The doctor was busy reading from his notepad. Placing it down on the bedside table he seemed surprised to notice the crayon printed letter.

"Where did this come from?"

You remained silent.

He raised an eye socket in your direction, "Do not make me repeat myself."

"Why? I don't see anything to be gained from answering," You answered back calmly. Internally you were shrieking. Yes, good job. Let's annoy the man who could kill you in a second.

The doctor seemed surprised by the answer, a ghost of a smile playing on his face however when he turned to look at the letter again it disappeared, "Who gave you this."

"Your son... Paps did."

"Paps? Oh, you mean Papyrus. I told that child to give you food not make friends with you," The skeleton stated, though not angrily but more so in a weary tone.

The Doctor put the letter down and turned to take your pulse, "You seem to be doing well Human."

"________, my name is _____________." You told him. Silence followed as you waited.

The doctor continued to run through his checklists, ignoring your expectant look.

"And your name is?"

"It does not matter," The skeleton answered plainly.

You huffed in annoyance, "It does to me."

The Skeleton raised another eye socket and glanced in your direction, "Very well... you may call me Dr. Gaster."

"Gaster," You said, feeling the name roll of your tongue. It was strange but an interesting name.

"No. Dr. Gaster," He reinstated

You rolled your eyes at him but didn't make any effort to change it.

"Well, Dr Gaster , can I please be released from my bindings so I can use the bathroom? It doesn't sit well with humans to be tired up and I haven't seen to my personal hygiene since you decided to attack me yesterday," You stated in annoyance.

Gaster seemed slightly perturbed by what you said, "Hu- I mean _________, do you know how long you have been here?"

"A day...?" You said, though it turned into more of a question.

Gaster shook his head and made a note in his notepad (you were really starting to hate that notepad), "__________, you have been here for exactly one week."

One Week

You stared at the skeletal man in shock.

One week... how is this possible!

Gaster busied himself with untying your bonds as you sat in shock, attempting to process the news.

When he was done you shook yourself from the shock and shifted to the edge of the bed. Gaster stood nearby watching you, making sure you wouldn't attempt to escape.

You planted your feet onto the ground and slowly attempted to stand. Your legs wobbled weakly, failing to take your weight, as you stood up. All of a sudden they gave out beneath you and you found yourself in the arms of Gaster. He gazed down at you as you grasped at his lab coat.

Damn he's really tall.

"Sorry," You mumbled. However you could not find the strength to stand on your own.

Gaster sighed, "It seems that this is unavoidable. We will have to commence activities to return full control of your limbs if you are unable to regain sufficient control of them. For now I shall escort you."

His version of "escort" was not what you expected. With a sudden motion you found yourself surrounded by a purple aura. panic gripped you as you floated above the ground and you let a short yelp of terror escape past your lips.

"I will not harm you," Gaster stated as he began to walk through the door and out into a white corridor. There were no windows so you assumed you were underground.

You suddenly started to float after Gaster. Shrieking in surprise you held down the gown as it floated upwards, trying to keep any last remnants of dignity you at least believed you had.

Finally Gaster turned into another room and you got a view of a bath tub and toilet. The bathtub was already filled to the brim with steamy hot water. Raising a questioning eyebrow in Gaster's direction you felt yourself gently touch the ground.

"There is a spare change on the sink. Do not attempt anything as I will be waiting outside. Make it quick." He stated before turning to leave. He paused a moment and motioned towards the basket beside the tub, "Dirty clothing goes in there... I do not accept dirtiness in my lab."

You nodded as he exited the room. Dragging yourself to the toilet you did your business before carefully pulling yourself into the bathtub, making sure your cast remained dry. The water was scathing however as you lowered yourself in it became more bearable, soothing even. Using the soap and scrubber that sat on the edge of the tub you scrubbed at your skin. A lot of the bruises had faded however the larger ones were still noticeable, such as the one of your torso. You hadn't realized how dirty you were before. Your arms, legs and face were cleaner then the rest of your body however.

Gaster must have made sure I wasn't a complete mess.

You eyes glanced towards the door where Gaster said he would wait.

I wonder what kind of guy he really is...

You sighed as you dragged yourself to sit on the edge of the tub and dried yourself off before changing into the clean robe and discarding the older clothing into the basket.

"I'm done," You called out towards the door.

Immediately after Gaster entered. He looked you over approvingly. "I'll bring you a brush later on," He told you as he motioned to your stringy wet hair.

"Thank you," You said quietly.

Gaster appeared to be about to reply but instead turned his back to you before flicking his wrist. The familiar purple aura of Gaster's magic engulfed you as you floated by his side. This time however you sat cross legged.

I feel like a genie

You giggled at the childish thought.

"What is it that you find so amusing?"

You noticed Gaster's eye was trained on you in curiosity.

Blushing at the embarrassment on having to explain your childish thoughts you answered, "I just thought I looked like a genie."

Gaster raised an I socket, "A genie?"

"A genie, they're a magic being from human stories. If a person finds a genie then they are granted three wishes," You explained.

Gaster's eyes returned to in front of him, "A useless fairytale then. Wishes are simply the way low intellectual creatures face their problems with out having to realise the reality of their situation and can not be relied on in the eyes of science."

You rolled your eyes but stayed quiet realizing Gaster had moved on from the topic as they approached you quarters.

He laid you gently on the bed as the purple magic dissipated.

"I will return for your check up tomorrow morning," He stated simply before leaving. "I assume I do not need to take precautions to keep you from leaving? Or causing harm to yourself?"

You frowned before looking at the bindings on the bed, realization dawning on you, "N-no."

"Good, I will see you tomorrow," Gaster stated before locking the door behind him.

So he was using those to protect me? Strange guy... but understandable I guess.

You lay down and stared up at the ceiling.

This Gaster person is definitely interesting.

You sighed as your eyes closed and you slipped into sleep.
