Gemini

"Come on, let's get you home," called Ginny as I donned my clothes from last night, hurrying downstairs. Taurus had just done the sweetest thing-she'd taken me in for the night. It was nice, lying in bed and watching 90's flicks with someone who genuinely cared. "Alright, let's go! Are you sure this is your address?"

I nodded, smiling at Ginny. You could see where Taurus had gotten her looks from-Ginny must've been a total babe back in the day. Of course, her daughter had followed suit-I honestly envied her big doe eyes and petite, curvy figure. In my opinion, Taurus was the prettiest girl in junior year. Not Libra. Not Aquarius. Taurus.

That being said, Libra and Aquarius were both close seconds.

"Here-WOW!" Ginny exclaimed, turning to look at the modern mansion I called home. Overlooking a private jetty, my home boasted four glass-walled bedrooms within two floors. A fully-equipped kitchen which was never used for anything apart from heating takeout led out toward an ultra-modern LED equipped patio dining area, next to a perfectly kept grass terrace. Lounge chairs were propped up next to the terrace, and beyond the dining area was an arrangement of patio furniture, leading out toward the infinity pool.

(Gemini's house)

"You can come in, if you'd like," I offered, glad to finally share my home with someone else. Ginny and Taurus followed me inside and I left them sitting by the infinity pool, heading upstairs to get changed. My own bedroom was identical to the rest of the house-cold and scarily quiet. A perfectly-made bed faced floor-length windows, a white armchair propped up, facing the bed. A fireplace heated up the room. I felt for Adam, our butler. How sad was it, caring for an empty home?

I changed into a pair of flared denim jeans and a pink cropped tee reading 'Angel', pulling on a pair of white sneakers. Tying my hair up in a high ponytail, I took one final look at myself in the mirror, applying some mascara and lipgloss after I'd washed my face and patted it dry.

I stepped out of my bedroom, looking down at where Ginny and Taurus sat, Ginny with a loving arm around her daughter as they laughed about what a lovely house they were sitting in. I sighed, my heart slowly breaking. How badly I wanted a mother who would just put an arm around me and laugh. Instead, I got this gorgeous mansion and Adam as an excuse of a parent. My whole life, I had spent about half a day with my parents put together. The high point of my life was when my dad spent five minutes eating an ice cream with me.

A solitary tear made its way down to my chin and I wiped it away hastily.

You're strong enough to go it alone, I told myself. You've never needed anyone else: why should you need them now?

I hurried down the stairs, leaving the house with Ginny and Taurus, saying goodbye to poor Adam, slumped in front of a portrait of the family.

I hadn't even posed for that.

I was drawn in.

.....

"Okay, girls, have a good day!" Ginny called as she drove away. I waved to her, smiling. Taurus took my hand, leading me into the main corridor, where we ran into Pisces, who was wrapped up in a conversation with Scorpio and Libra. "What? She is not the worst, try having Mr. Hawkins for PE- Oh, hey!"

Libra smiled warmly at Taurus and I, the past hostility between Taurus and Libra forgotten. Of course, Leo was now a combined enemy to them both. "Hey, what's Leo doing with Virgo outside of tutoring?" Pisces asked, squinting as if he couldn't believe his eyes. We all turned to follow his line of sight, and surely enough, there stood Virgo, laughing along with Leo, who had a hand on her shoulder. Taurus' and Libra's eyes widened while Scorpio rolled his eyes. Personally, I couldn't believe Virgo. She'd been warned about the kind of guy Leo was-why was she hanging around with him outside of peer tutoring?

"Typical Leo," Scorpio commented. "Doesn't know how to keep his head down, does he?" Libra nodded in agreement when Capricorn walked over to us, looking incredibly stunned.

"I understand her acquainting herself with you lot, but that Leo was out, wasn't he?" he asked, every word coming out with such force. "Look, we have no idea why they're hanging out. I thought they only had to be together during Leo's tutoring sessions," Pisces replied as Aquarius' gang passed by. They paused in front of Gemini, Aquarius at their head. Today, Aquarius wore yet another black outfit-an asymmetrical black cropped blouse with a pair of skinny jeans that had patches adhered to them. Personally, I'd always preferred Libra's colourful outfits and matching stilettos to this.

(Aquarius' outfit)

"Hey there, Gem. I see you've finally found your people," Aquarius commented. "The ones time left behind-I mean, look at your little friend Taurus' outfit!"

The kids surrounding Aquarius-the popular kids-burst out laughing. They were all dressed just like her-wearing all black. Taurus looked absolutely crushed, fingering the floral dress she was wearing. "Don't listen to them, you look per-"

Pisces was interrupted by Libra, who had taken a step in front of us. "Before you go about insulting Taur's outfit, take a good look at what you're wearing, sweetie." Aquarius raised her eyebrows and Libra went on. "Where'd you find those jeans, the thrift store? Those patches you've stuck on are looking incredibly sad.

"And that top? And stilettos with jeans? You're either incredibly challenged or your mother dresses you." She was back. Libra was back. I glanced at Scorpio, who was watching his girlfriend, a smirk on his face. If there was anything that I knew about Scorpio, it was that he liked a girl who could use her words as a weapon. No wonder he was head over heels for Libra. Aquarius' mouth opened and closed. "Well, you should watch you mouth, because you look like... um... like a..."

"Cat got your tongue?" Libra asked. "Or is that just your horrible fashion sense rubbing off on your personality?"

"I don't need to be here. I'm leaving-come on."

"That's right, Aquarius. Run along, like the amateur that you are."

This got snickers out of Aquarius' minions. Aquarius growled, looking incredibly irritated.

"Turning away, Aqua? Are you trying to hide the fact that Godzilla did your makeup? He definitely went big on the glitter gun..."

Laughs, evens snorts, came from the populars. Aquarius forgot-the populars were Libra's minions before they were hers. "Don't you dare insult my friends again, Aquarius. Next time, I won't be so nice."

Libra turned away, Scorpio wrapping an arm around her. "I love when you get all confident like that," he remarked, grinning. "Well, I've been at it a long time. Are you okay, Taurus?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"You look great. Don't listen to Aquarius and her cronies, yeah?"

Taurus nodded gratefully when Virgo walked over to us, grinning. "What's up, guys?" Capricorn glared at Virgo before opening his mouth. "What were you doing with that Leo character? You do realise he fractured Libra's wrist?"

Virgo sighed, her smile fading. "He was just being nice!" Virgo retorted. And that was the exact moment that Cancer chose to walk in. Looking as assured as ever, he high-fived his friends, striking up a few conversations as he went past. Finally, he noticed Aquarius, who had now regained her composure, and struck up a conversation with her. She giggled and he put his hands on her shoulders, smirking, before leaning down to whisper something in her ear...

Did I not exist?

In a fit of anger, I found myself walking over to the two of them. "You jerk!" I yelled, bringing my hand across Cancer's cheek and slapping him. "It hasn't even been a day since we broke and you're flirting with Aquarius? " Cancer laughed before lowering his voice.

"Look, you weren't a keeper," he replied. "I already told you last night, I had my eye on someone else. It wasn't fair to you."

"HOW THE HELL IS THIS FAIR?" I replied, breaking down. It was mortifying, but I just couldn't help it. "HOW IS IT FAIR FOR YOU TO DUMP YOUR GIRLFRIEND OUT OF THE BLUE LIKE THAT?" Tears were falling to the ground, onto my top, ruining my makeup. "YOU WERE THE ONLY THING THAT KEPT ME GOING, CANCER! EVEN WHEN YOU WERE NEVER THERE, EVEN WHEN YOU STOOD ME UP, I STAYED, BECAUSE I LOVED YOU!"

Catching my breath, I turned to stare him right in the eyes. "You treated me like a joke, and you left me like it was funny." I narrowed my eyes, drawing myself up.

"But you mark my words, Cancer. In the end, I'm going to be the one laughing."
