《Jealous Lines III NaJ! Paperjam X reader III》(27)

No POV
She continued to be mentally killed by nightmare as she tried to make it better. She kept resetting, hoping she would make it better. Every time, she lost a piece of herself. Eventually, she stopped when she came to a timeline where no one remembered. All was normal, except that she was broken. And she even knew. Her (h/c) hair reached her knees from all the resetting time mess ups. Her once bright and shining (e/c) eyes were now dull and dead from the torture. She could barely sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, she would see herself covered in blood. Every time there was silence, she would hear screams. It slowly killed her. Her insanity slowly ripped her apart.
But she hid it all.
Hidden behind a mask of happiness, everyone loved her. But she couldn't love herself. Every time she was told a compliment, her mind would always turn it negative. She became popular and well known. But she didn't even know herself. She told lies, cried where no one could see, and his what was killing her. One day she started. Started to break the skin and show flesh. Wearing long clothing hid her scars. No one knew a thing.
She was at a park and playing with a young boy when she accidentally revealed her scars. The boy looked at her sadly.
"Are you an angel miss?"
"Why would you say that child?"
"My momma was an angel. She had those too."
"Why so?"
"Momma told me Angels break their shell that keeps them from heaven."
For a once in a long time, she had a genuine smile.
"Your mother is very wise."
"Thank you, but my momma has already gone home."
After that encounter, she met with other children that told similar stories. Slowly, she gained back sanity. But still, no one noticed. She was still insane, and hid.

When would someone save her?
Paperjam thought she was strange. He caught her crying a few times. And once, she looked at him with dull eyes. What was she hiding? Was there something wrong with her? Heck, he didn't even know her name. He decided to follow her. She looked around before opening a locker. She walked in and somehow shut it behind her. He silently followed her and opened the same locker to find a path. It came to a turn and as he walked closer, he heard sobbing. He peeked the corner to see a scene of pure insanity. She was crying and curled up. Around her were papers that were scribbled with words. He watched as she cried and cut herself. She teleported away and he walked around the small room and read the notes.
'Horrible'
'Crazy'
'No one cares'
'Your fault'
'Your fault'
'YOUR FAULT'
In neater but still crazy handwriting were saddening notes that brought him to tears.
'Pain is the only thing telling me I'm alive.'
'My captor is insanity'
'As I run, it catches me'
'When will I kick the stool'
'When will I take the shot'
'When will I pull the trigger'
'When will I die from madness'
'When will I get a sharp enough blade'
'When will I die from my lack of happiness'
'When will I just die'
There was one that was still dripping in fresh ink. But there was something very troubling about it.
The 'ink' used was a crimson hue.
It read:
'WHEN WILL HE REMEMBER'
He looked around the room in confusion. He saw a peeling corner in the wall. He reached up and finished off the wall damage
The wall painted with blood was terrifying.

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.

Ten Thousand Sallys
Imagine waking up in a hospital room, you can barely move. No one comes when you call. The only other person present is a little boy, who is, surprisingly, more help than you would expect. What would you do? This is the exact situation Sally finds herself in. Almost immediately she discovers that nothing is what she thinks it is. Not the boy, not the hospital, maybe not even herself. She is in deep trouble and the consequences will be dire if she can’t find a way out. She is a fighter, though, and just doesn't quit. As a baseline human, she starts as the lowest of the low and has to claw her way up in spite of being tangled in a shifting web of schemes and plots. She has to do her best, and maybe her best is pretty good. As Sally uncovers more about her situation, she finds that she has to be smart and tough and that in this place she needs to depend on her friends, who are using her as much as she is using them. This book contains themes concerning life, death, and body functions, light swearing, minimal nakedness, and should be suitable for most. Some pertinent info: Ten Thousand Sallys is a complete novel of approximately 140 pages in 20 chapters. Around 80,000 words. not too long, and maybe too short. Give it a read and let me know your opinion.
