Mark stopped singing immediately as he saw the way Haechan was swaying back and forth, eyes closing. He was quick to embrace the younger, catching him before he hit the ground
"Haechan!"
☾ ☼
It had been a day and Haechan was still unconscious after the sudden faint.
Mark was devastated. What was he supposed to do knowing Haechan could faint at every second?
"We are going to the beach," Jeno said as he entered Mark's room where the older sat, staring out of the window while nuzzling Haechan who laid next to him's hand.
"I'm not going," the older mumbled.
"Mark, you need some air-"
"I said," he gritted. "I'm not going."
Jeno's sighed. "Listen, Mark. We know he's going to wake up again, and that he's probably just remembering something right now. He's fine and if you want someone to keep an eye on him, I can stay," Jeno told him. "I can stay and you can get some air. I think you need it."
Mark turned his head towards Jeno. "I'm not leaving his side Jeno, not until he wakes up."

Chenle ran into Jisung's room with excitement, swim shorts and a t-shirt on and two giant inflatable animals under his arms.
Jisung who was packing his beach bag looked with big eyes at the sight.
"Look what I found!" Chenle shrieked and threw one of the inflatable animals at Jisung, the younger catching it with a smile. "We bought these five years ago, remember?"
Jisung chuckled. "I remember."
Chenle suddenly gasped and hurried over to Jisung with a worried face. He tiptoed and leaned closer to the taller male, rubbing his thumb against Jisung's lips, causing the said to flinch.
Jisung was beyond flustered as Chenle smiled and moved away. "W-What was that for?" the younger asked and tried hiding his red face.
Chenle shrugged unaware of how much his simple action had affected Jisung. "There was toothpaste on your mouth. I just removed it," he said and walked towards the door. "That's what friends are for, right?" he grinned and then he left.
Jisung just stood where he was, trying to process what just happened and trying to figure out why he still had a crush on Chenle, a boy who cleared saw Jisung as nothing but a friend.

Mark ended up not going. He didn't want to leave Haechan's side no matter what happened. Not when the younger was in this kind of state.
There was just one slight problem of not being able to leave the bedroom for hours.
Mark was getting really hungry.
He glanced at Haechan, finding the younger laying the exact same way he had laid for hours now. With a frown, Mark finally moved down from the bed and went over to the younger's side. He stared at Haechan for some time and his lips naturally curved up without him thinking much about it.
He snaked his arms under Haechan's tiny body and lifted the younger up in bridal style. Haechan's head hung down from Mark's arm, his fluffy brown hair falling away from his face. Mark quickly made a little jump so the latter's head fell into a more comfortable position up against Mark's chest.
And then the older made his way downstairs. He stopped once he reached the living room at the end of the stairs, considering placing Haechan on the couch before going to the kitchen.
He inhaled sharply and kept walking towards the kitchen, determined to never let Haechan out of his reach.
Mark didn't even know if there was any food left when he opened the refrigerator with his foot as his hands were pretty occupied at the moment. A little plastic bag with boiled eggs caught his eyes and he thought it would do the job of ending his hunger.
Mark leaned closer, resting him and Haechan against the fridge just enough so he could reach the bag with his mouth. He bit into the plastic and dragged the eggs out of the fridge, closing the refrigerator with his butt as he made his way back to the living room, Haechan still resting peacefully in his arms.

Jeno tiptoed downstairs.
It was almost midnight and they had only arrived back from the beach two hours ago. Everyone went straight to sleep when they came home, but Jeno couldn't sleep yet.
He didn't see Mark anywhere when he came by the older's room to say goodnight. Jeno just shook it off, thinking Mark probably just moved Haechan and him to some other room, but he wanted to be totally sure where they were and that they were okay.

But Jeno didn't come far down the stairs before he could glimpse the faint silhouette of a body laying on the couch in the living room, another body crouched down next to it.
He looked closer and smiled once he started making out the features of the two people.
Haechan laid on the couch, his unconscious face turned towards Mark who stared so deeply at him, head resting on his arms as he sat crouched down next to the couch.
"Want me to tell you a story?" Jeno heard Mark whisper to Haechan. "Once upon a time.."
"Jeno?"
Jeno flinched as a soft voice called out his name from behind him. He turned his attention from the two people in the living room to the person standing behind him wearing a blue pajamas.
"Hi Renjun," he whispered and smiled softly. "You're awake too?"
"I went to get a glass of water," the older said and walked towards the stairs. "What are you doing?"
Jeno motioned his hand for Renjun to get closer. The older raised a brown but tiptoed a couple of steps down the stairs until he stood next to Jeno. Jeno pointed at the couch in the living room and Renjun followed the latter's finger, laying his gaze on Mark and Haechan.
"The bluebird wanted to go, but he was nervous," Mark chuckled and caressed the unconscious Haechan's cheek. "Do you remember nervous, Haechan? Nervous, that's our word," he whispered and smiled, but it faded into a sad frown the longer he stared at the brunette.
Renjun joined Jeno and smiled sadly at the sight.
"He loves him, doesn't he?"
Jeno sighed. "I've never seen Mark be like this before. I think he does."
Renjun sat down next to Jeno on the stairs.
"When I first saw how Mark acted around Haechan, I didn't think there was any love involved between them. I thought Mark had taken an interest in the boy only because of how unexplainable and unreal he is. You know, since Mark is such a storyteller and has an imagination that stretches so far. I simply thought Mark was liking Haechan because the latter is straight out of a fairytale," Renjun said and kept staring at the two on the couch.
"I was wrong."
Jeno chuckled. "So wrong..."
A silence fell between them and they watched how Mark placed two small kisses onto Haechan's forehead before trying to fall asleep himself.
Jeno turned his head to look at Renjun. He just wanted to do the same. Cuddle the living hell out of the older and place small kisses all over his face. Tickle him and hear him laugh out so loud. He wanted to do things like that, but he couldn't.
"You're staring."
"I was just thinking," Jeno said. "Has," he paused. "Has Jaemin spoken to you?"
Renjun locked his eyes with Jeno. "He hasn't but I know what you two talked about, and I hope it won't go between our friendship," the older spoke and looked down at his hands. "I know you might be weirded out by the fact that Jaemin likes us both, but you need to trust me. He really loves you, and he really loves me too."
Renjun stood up and Jeno could only look up at him with sad eyes. He could see how much the whole situation was bothering Renjun and it hurt.
"I know you have feelings for Jaemin, and that you've had them for a long time," Renjun sighed. "So let's figure this mess out with respect. We both love Jaemin and Jaemin loves us both, the least we can do for him is ending this peacefully," Renjun finished and started making his way up the few steps they had walked down the stairs, vanishing down the hallway towards his and Jaemin's room.
Jeno's breath hitched and he quickly followed the older, catching his arm and turning him around before he managed to enter his room.
"I wasn't weirded out by the fact Jaemin likes two people," Jeno inhaled sharply. "I like two people as well."
Renjun stopped breathing for a second. "You-"
"I like you so much Renjun. Just as much as I like Jaemin."
Renjun's face went pale and he took a step back. "I-I need a moment," he mumbled and ran into his room, leaving Jeno to stand foolishly in the middle of the ever so dark and long hallway.

A Fate Shaped by Magick
This fiction was (and is) published on fanfiction dot net under the same title; though as I slowly transfer it to here, I am editing and smoothing it. This story takes place in the Elder Scrolls (TES) Universe mostly ending up in Morrowind. This is a slice of life meant to answer the questions of how (in the TES universe) do mages study and learn, and exploring some of the in-game differences between TES 2 and 3. This book has minimal spoilers for the Morrowind main quest and does not fully explore it. If you think that giant insects would make cool pets - if you like the idea of exploring magic NOT intended simply as killing something better, faster or more gore-ridden, then come on in and enjoy.
