Chapter 5: It Seems Me And Everyone Else Are Pretty Powerful

"I thought they said it was a lie that the Dark Elf lady were strong but..."

"........just where were they living?"

The knights who were revived by Shen had been like this not that I can blame them. Currently I was busy shooting down the goblin horde we had met along the way, they were rather too easy. I had grown to easily hunt down goblins with a proficiency that made me an expert on how to kill goblins, I know what you're thinking when are you going to get the official Slayer title. Sorry I am not that badass yet, I would need the full set to be that cool. Geri and Freki had been hunting large deer as of late and that's what we had been cooking so the knights were rather astonished for some reason.

"I am eating the meat of a creature that is so rare that its worth can make me rest for all my life"

"And it is delicious as well"

"Hey aren't we supposed to be helping the Dark elf onee-chan"

"Bro we can't beat that many, relax and what the scene that is unfolding in front of us"

"Ah you're right"

That's right knight dudes and dudettes chillax whilst I provide the entertainment of a one sided slaughter. I was finished rather quickly and joined in the feast.

"Yukiyo-neechan done already?"

"Yeah I am done, they were rather easy compared to the goblins I used to fight in caves and dungeons. Now those made me a death machine, I could fight about a horde of four thousand at a time"

"Knight dudes?!"

They made a sound that indicated their shock, but regained their composure. Apparently the kingdom of Bythalis had been in a lot of conflict in the past with other nations as explained by the butler Albert, it was interesting lore to me but Shen seemed totally uninterested with the whole thing and slept off during the entire journey! There were no problems at all because Geri and Freki were outside exuding their beastly aura to ward off any monsters and people who might want to attack this carriage, as for Gertrude-san she was with them at all times, why? Because she wanted to be with her gods up close and personal. It was rather hilarious seeing them fluster when she praise them each time they killed a large Greater Demon Bear, even more so with a fanatical stare in her eyes.

"It seems Gertrude-san has taken a liking to the Fenrirs"

Albert said with a keen sense of happiness in his tone.

"Yeah she seems really happy"

"When she first came to us she was really stoic and never talked to anyone, she only tended to Mona and me but everyone else were blocked by the barrier she had put on her heart"

She was talking brightly about the tales of her family and their people, it was obvious that only noble children from other noble families were taken to be maids and butlers. She had only interacted with such people all her life and now she was clearly more talkative than the night one of that fateful day. The knights and I smiled as we looked at this scene.

"We should be close now, the city of Melbour is not far from here."

"Ah does that mean that I have taken care of a goblin horde that an adventurer from the guild was supposed to fight and get rewards from?"

"Yes."

"But even those at the guild couldn't handle something like this. It should be noted that we are far weaker than you Yukiyo-san"

The person talking to me is the knight Ryza-chan, she is amongst the last knights who survived the onslaught of the bandits. She has bright red hair and some awesome looking green eyes wearing the silver plated armor of the Ostrosky family with its symbol of a bird's wings and a sword in the middle shining brightly in the sun. A tomboy of a girl, I hear that guys love this type of woman on the internet. A dude with tits they say. Though I do see the charm of a tomboy, she is rather dashing to be honest.

"I must thank you for your actions once more, without you Yukiyo-san we would not be here right now"

"Indeed. That said are you going to report everything to the Marquis?"

"Of course, I need to say what happened so we can tighten the security near the Arensha Forest."

"Got it"

I didn't guess that the girl was the marquis' daughter which makes things difficult because I know how nobles work. They are often well corrupt, I've rarely found a storyline where the noble is the good guy except from the occasionally unrealistic otome games which I rarely played thus I decided that I would follow my usual motto of "DO NOT TRUST THE NOBLES NO MATTER WHAT!!". Shen looked over my side whilst I was thinking this and immediately sighed. Eh?What is it?I did nothing wrong you know! We finally arrived at the city of Melbour, roughly speaking this is actually beautiful. The architecture of the city itself is similar to Venice with small rivers come in and out of it. Roughly speaking I was pretty much prepared to go out right now and run away. Wait.

"Please Yukiyo-dono do not leave us just yet"

"Oh c'mon!!!"

I screamed as Albert-kun was watching with his super keen veteran eyes. This man, if he was strong he would be as powerful as that butler of the skeleton overlord! I was about to stealthily run away but this old man had already seen me. I was quickly prompted to return to the carriage where Shen was sighing as she looked at me.

"I should remind you that you are powerful enough to turn this city into a pile of rubble, you have nothing to fear even the power of a noble"

"As expected of Shen to have caught on my plans within a single gaze"

"You're rather easy to read Yukiyo"

I looked at Albert who nodded, then to Mona-chan who looked away immediately, then back to Ryza-chan who laughed loudly with her arms akimbo, and Gertrude who ignored I existed entirely by talking to Freki who was explaining of the wonders of dungeon hunting. Uwah I really am that easy to read anyhow I ended up staying the carriage until we got to the marquis' mansion. It seemed beautiful on the outlook and relaxing to the eye, I expected that what I didn't expect was the door being immediately opened and another beautiful woman who seemed like an older version of Mona with tears inside of her eyes jumping towards us. It was the body I had a problem with it was those massive jugs she had on her body and I was going to be squished by such, if I were a boy this would be one lucky pervert scene but I am not and its rather unfortunate that I have to experience this. I could almost hear them making some sort of sound, holy shit if I adjust my own chest will it make such a similar sound?!Nonetheless I was squashed along with Mona-chan.

"I apologize for such brash actions, I was rather worried sick about what would happen to my Mona that I ended up coming here myself just to check on her."

"You think?!I was completely squished back there!I felt like my world was going black!"

"It is understandable, ignore this idiot dark elf please"

The person who leaped to hug Mona was of course Mona's mother Risa, she was basically the older version of Mona. Blessed with golden blonde hair which reached her waist, bright blue eyes, a beauty mark on near her left eye, a brilliant smile, then those huge jugs. I looked at Mona and saw her chest and touched her shoulder.

"Don't worry you have plenty of room to grow"

"Eh?"

"I feel like you have said something incredibly rude Yukiyo-san"

"She has potential after all "

"We cannot talk outside any longer my husband is waiting for us inside, let us hurry"

Geri and Freki decided to sleep in the large yard of the marquis' home, aight let's see the ugly bastard type noble who probably NTR'ed Risa from some ikeman chad. I've got Shen and the Fenrirs any enemy before me will cower, plus I am a little strong myself might need to ask what's the level limit of the people around here. Albert opened the door and instead of some neckbeard bastard what I found was an ikeman!!!!!Well it was kinda obvious he would appear like that since Mona is one cute girl.

A heartwarming scene was occurring right before our eyes as Mona ran towards her dad and hugged him with Risa joining in as well. He seemed like a family guy, he too was blonde (expected that) but had green eyes and a nice velvet red suit. After that he walked towards me and Shen bowing as he did so.

"I've heard the reports and I must thank you for saving my daughter, and all the good work you've been doing ever since"

"You're welcome"

"You can praise my actions more you know"

"It is as the letter said an impressive dark elf and dragonborn. It must've been easy for you to defeat high quality bandits and a horde of goblins for you two"

"Honey they also had large wolves, they are sleeping outside currently"

"Ah I apologize for leaving them out"

"Its okay"

"How about we discuss more while we have tea?"

Usually I would be panicking about this but I have the Status Effect Resistance skill on a high mountain so I am pretty sure there is nothing that can kill me unless its Shen's cooking then that will certainly turn me into goop. As Mona was being led to her room by her mother so they could have some bonding time we were led to the garden where a set of tables and chairs were set. Me and Shen sat down and immediately as we did the maids served us cake and a cup of tea.

"I do not know how to thank you Yukiyo-san, seriously if I were to lose Mona now I do not know what Risa and myself would do. You see Mona is a child born from many miscarriages and her being alive truly made us happy from the bottom of our hearts"

"Awww"

"Please tell me whatever you want, I'll grant it"

"Hmm"

"Shen?"

"This is the time where you gain the recommendation of the Marquis"

I was completely blank and Shen did the thinking for me, it is times like these that I am truly glad that Shen is around to help me out.

"I wish to be an adventurer thus I want to travel a lot of places without needing to verify my identity each and every time"

"I'll give the word out to the guild later, you'll need to take a paper seal of my family. You can head there after you have your tea and get your registry done."

"If I may ask where did you live before you met Mona?"

No need to lie here because it could be possible that he may actually know of dark elf settlements.

"I've lived in the Great Forest of Arensha, so did Shen, Geri and Freki"

"Hmmm"

The marquis closed his eyes whilst folding his arms. He opened his eyes and stared at us before but his eyes were of a different color, this guy is he appraising us?

"Hoh?It seems my skill is lower than yours and I cannot see everything, well then I'll cut to the chase. Are you the great darkness that lived in the deeper parts of the Arensha Forest?"

"Darkness?"

"You see several decades ago there was a dragon attacking a kingdom"

I looked at Shen who immediately looked away.

"Its wrath was so great a Great Sage had to stop it and send it away. Since then we've kept tabs on that dragon and other potential threats in the forest. According to the data from 4 years ago, the threats were an orc king, a goblin chief and a giant all living within the same vicinity of each other but different areas and territories. The dragon slept in the lake but then something happened and the other three went missing. There has been word that they all wiped each other out, several of our adventurers were sent out to investigate and found landscapes changed and one sided massacres."

Uwah how absurdly investigative the human race is. We are the culprits for that though.

"And as of late a Goblin King finally rose but just when we were about to send out our adventurers and knights, it disappeared from the map."

".......oof"

"Now then I take it that you are the great darkness that lived within the Arensha Forest and that is our culprit dragon"

"It seems there are humans with a keen sense of intellect since the time I roamed the world freely"

Shen smiled brightly with her arms folded and staring at the marquis with analytical eyes.

"I Franklin Von Ostrosky have but one request"

"Speak"

"Please do not rampage around like you did the last time"

"I am well past that age, you should thank this dark elf here for bringing perspective in my life"

"Oddly enough that sounds like a wild man who has found a woman who settled down with him"

"SUCH LIES!!"

"Actually you're right, Shen is definitely more calmer than when I first met her"

"I thank you for taming this dragon"

"Umu"

"You two have unworldly power I hope you do not wish to use it against us one day"

"We won't"

"You insult me human, why would I waste my power on feeble beings such as yourselves without reason"

"You seemed to do so a few decades ago"

"Guh"

"Well she had her reasons. Humans aren't unconditionally good, if we find it that they are doing some pretty bad stuff then I wouldn't mind burning a kingdom down for the sake of good"

"Yukiyo...."

Shen looked my direction with tears welling up in her eyes as I held her hand and reassured her.

"Then I rest my case."

The marquis said with a sigh along side a refreshing smile.

Well then I didn't expect this, mostly because the only thing that was happening now ever since I left the Marquis' home is people staring at me. I am certainly not dressed inappropriately, I am rather dignified and respectable. I can only guess the reason why which is the following things: 1. I am a dark elf (in appearance) something rarer to see in life than an elf , 2. Geri and Freki were out in the public and in full size, 3. Shen walking beside me. With all of these things coupled together it was truly a sight to behold, one would normally want to see what was going on. After asking around for a while I finally found the Adventurer's Guild, it looked the same as the one in Sword Fantasy. It was a rule that you had to leave familiars outside if they were huge thus I had to leave the two Fenrirs outside who curled up at both sides of the Guild's doors and fell asleep in the sunlight, what are you guys? Dogs?Ah wait they are kind of dogs.

"This place certainly hasn't changed much"

"Ohhhhh. Wait Shen you've been in the Adventurer's Guild?"

"No I merely destroyed it in the country I rampaged about but it seems they recreated it to the way it was before I demolished it"

"And here you called me bloodthirsty"

It was spacious and big enough for a very large bar fight to occur, every type of role was here ranging from the clerics going down to the rogues. Me and Shen decided to walk in deeper despite the stares and headed what seemed to be the reception, the receptionist herself had black hair and triangular cat ears in her hair wearing the red and black suit that made her look very charming.

"Yo"

"Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild how may I help you?"

She was shivering despite talking in a polite tone, but let's ignore that all together.

"Me and my partner would like to become adventurers"

"...partner..."

"Very well, please wait a moment"

Everyone was still looking at us and I could hear noises outside, ah they discovered Geri and Freki lol.

"Here you go. You must write your full name, race, age, current job if you have none you are free to use the job changing room that the guild has, and previous residence or nation but you can leave that part blank if you do not have one. Do you want me to write for you?"

"Nope I am fine"

"I am confident in my literacy thank you"

"Alright"

"Ah before I forget I was told to give you this"

"Hmm?"

The receptionist's face went pale as she saw the seal of the Marquis and immediately launched away from the place she was. I was done with everything same with Shen, I think I will head over to the job changing room. I've been curious about the job system for a while now.

"Hey where is the job changing room?"

"T-T-T-T-To your right in the hallway"

"Thank you"

"Don't take long"

"I won't Shen"

"I've returned with the level reading crystal"

"Then I'll be the first to have my level read"

I heard some shouts and screams afterwards but I didn't heed them. I had something else on my mind entirely, that is what kind of jobs would appear for someone like me. The room was silent and had a single magic orb in the middle, I touched it without much thought and suddenly they appeared.

Eh?Am I seeing this right?DEMON KING?!Why is that job there?!I didn't do anything worthy to be a demon king, the others I can understand because they are related to my skills one way or another but this?Well I will just avoid it for the time being, let's choose Sword Cleric, it seems compatible with my previous job in Sword Fantasy.

【The levels of the Sword Technique skill, and Bow Technique skill have increased!】

Well then I guess I will leave as soon as I got out of the room, I saw the scenery had calmed down after a while.

"What was the commotion about?"

"My level"

"Oh....."

"Please touch the orb it's really soothing"

"I will"

I touched the orb and my level was revealed.

"Level 464?!"

The receptionists shouted as quietly as they could ending up going back up the stairs. Ah I set up a flag didn't I? I should have acquired the Falsify Status skill.
