After Avni and Neil decided that they were ready to accept parenthood and welcome their little one, they'd been extremely happy together.

Their days went really well in Amsterdam... Both Avni and Neil were earning more than enough money to lead a well settled life. Neil's work at the detective agency was going good where as Avni was promoted to next post at her office.

Both were busy with their respective work schedules but never missed the weekends to spend quality time with each other.

The south indian family from Hyderabad to their house next door was always helpful for them whenever they were in need.They had become like family to AvNeil. Avantika as usual continued her wooing on Neil and in turn get bitter frowns from Avni while Neil enjoyed his sherni's jealousy.

Life at Amsterdam was bright and beautiful for AvNeil... None questioned about their relationship nor taunted them about being unmarried ! They lived their life to the fullest without any inhibitions of the society's evil prey on their live in relationship like in India.

Shwetha was still not on talking terms with Neil which upset Avni most of the times but Neil would always assure her that one fine day his mom would run back to him.

Neela and Prakash always had their support for AvNeil and spoke to them daily. Neela even visited them for 6 months in Amsterdam and pampered the two the whole time she stayed.

To say that both were "Happy" would be an understatement. Avni and Neil worked hard at their jobs which was very much necessary in Amsterdam to survive and maintain their lifestyle . Often they over worked and used to end up not meeting each other throughout the day but they made sure that how much ever busy they were, weekends were exclusively to spend quality time with one another.

As they decided about having a child, they didn't intentionally try to conceive but instead made love like they used to earlier with the same passion and same love for each other...every time they got intimate. Only thing that changed was Avni was not on birth control anymore !

"Neil... You have got a call... Its...Its Avvv... Avvantheeekiii..." John informed Neil struggling to pronounce an Indian name.

"It's Avanthika John..." Neil taught him to pronounce correctly while getting up from his work desk.

"oh ya... Avanthika... quite difficult names dude !" John exclaimed as he saw Neil walk away swiftly towards the landline phone.

Neil checked his cell phone only to find that it was switched off... then rushed through the walk way along his office corridor . His forehead had lines of worry as he neared the telephone.

"Avanthika...kya hua ? aisi kya urgency thi ki tumne mere office pe call kiya ?"

"voh...jeeju... Avni akka..." she paused...

"Avni ? Kya hua Avni Ko ? Bolo ?? " Neil urged as he sensed that something was to worry about.

"Voh jeeju... Avni akka has labour pain ! Amma and dad took her to the "Cloud Nine" hospital nearby... Aap... Aap jaldi se... Directly vahi pe aa jaayiye..." Avantika urged him.

"Oh god ! I should have been there with her today ! I'm coming !!" Neil said and kept down the receiver without waiting for any reply from the other end.

He took his car keys and rushed outside his office as fast as he could... while screaming to John that he had to leave to the hospital.

He reached his car and drove off swiftly... Images of Avni with 9 months baby bump were repeatedly flashing his mind as he drove. He recalled how dumb he was when Avni had said that she missed her periods in that month.. he'd casually said "oh, is it ?" and had earned punches from her to understand what she had actually meant.

Neil had danced like a mad man when he finally realised that their little bundle of joy was on the way... He had showered her with umpteen number of kisses all over... Avni too was ecstatic and had shed tears of joy seeing her man so happy.

He'd lifted her in his arms and spun around quite a few times in that excitement and finally fell on their bed together...

"I love you Jaan..." He'd kissed her lips and said while taking her in a huge hug.

While Neil was cherishing all these memories, he'd reached the hospital and brought himself out of his trance.

As much excited he was for his baby's arrival he was equally worried for his Avni's safe delivery. He rushed through the entrance of the hospital and asked at the reception about Avni.

"Ma'am...eh uh An emergency delivery case... Avni... Avni Mehta... Where has she been taken ?" He asked worriedly.

" They just took her to the operation theatre sir... 1st floor..."

" Oh no ! I can't be late... Avni needs me... I have to be there !" Neil mumbled to himself while running towards the stair case.

"Avni...!" Neil yelled on seeing Avni crying in pain on the stretcher at a 50 metre distance while Avantika's mother was on her side consoling her as the Doctor spoke to the nurse regarding her deliver.

He rushed to her... " Avni... Baby ! You will be alright... Our little one too... Trust me... Bas thodi der aur... Hey Avni... Don't... Don't shut your eyes... Dekho... Dekho mujhe... Mein hoon na... Kuch nai hoga tujhe..." Neil held her palm and tried to confort her as he kept on talking.

"Nei...Neil..." is all Avni could utter before screaming aloud cuz of her labour pains.

Neil held onto her palm tighter and leaned down to kiss her forehead... " Avni...I'm there with you baby...I love you !" Neil said finally breaking into tears as he couldn't see her in such severe pain.

"Neil... Neil... Doctor bula rahe hai apko..." Avantika's mother shook his shoulder and said.

Neil turned behind to the doctor, still holding Avni's palm. " Doctor...! yeah I'm her...her...her boyfriend... Why are you delaying ? Can't you see that she's in pain ?" Neil frowned

" I need to talk to you before we proceed... Can we ?" The doctor asked him to move to another room along with him.

Neil just nodded and unwillingly left Avni's palm "mein Abhi aata hu Avni..."

"Okay so Mr Khanna... She's going through a complicated pregnancy due to her high blood pressure... It's quite dangerous for a normal delivery right now. I can't assure you of the baby's survival. A C section surgery would be difficult too...but we could try and if God permits, the baby also could be saved. it's your decision now. If you sign the consent form we can proceed..." The doctor said with utmost professionalism.

But for Neil... He felt like the floor under him was snatched away ! Their happiness, their first baby's life was at stake now... Moreover it was Avni's life too... He shuddered down to the floor with tears flowing down his eyes profusely...

He wiped his tears and stood after few moments as if he decided what had to be done.

" Doctor, I give my consent for the C section surgery. Please save my Avni if not my baby... Please !" He signed the form and walked out of the room to see Avni...

"Jaan...nothing to worry. You both will be alright... Common smile and get ready to bring happiness to the world. I'm with you Avni..." Neil said as he wiped her years and placed a peck on her lips though he knew what he said might not become true in some time.

"We need to take her to the OT. You should wear the robe and the mask Mr Khanna " the nurse informed and pushed Avni's stretcher towards the operation theatre.

Avni was given anaesthesia to her spine before they could start the operation...Neil was stunned to see what all a woman has to go through to bring a new life to the world. Avni's pains and screams had reduced because of the pain killer injection that was given to her earlier.

Neil was by her side holding her palm protectively. His eyes brimmed with tears but didn't dare to drop down his cheeks... because he knew he had to be strong for his two souls... Avni's and the unborn baby's.

The operation started as the doctor cut openes her abdomen... Neil shut his eyes and squeezed Avni's palm as he wasn't able to tolerate to see the difficulty in his lady's delivery process.

It hurt him a lot to witness so much pain of his dear soulmate... After some time of struggle by the doctors and nurses... And his endless prayers for the well being of both his souls...

He heard a cry... The cry which they both yearned to hear since 8 months... The doctor cut the baby's umbilical cord and exclaimed "Your prayers are answered Mr Khanna... Here's your daughter !"
