《Heathers x reader (genderbend)》Forgive and forget

"Bye mom! Bye dad!", I yell while grabbing my bag and heading out the door. And there, all three Hunters are sitting in a car waiting for me.
"Hi guys", I grin as I hop in the car beside Duke. He greets me by quietly wrapping his arms around me.
"You ok?", I ask, slightly confused about his behavior.
"Yeah, I'm just happy you've healed", he replies while letting go of the hug. When did he become such a sweetheart?
"You're so dorky Hunter", Chandler grunts from the drivers seat. I almost stand up from my seat and hit him in the back of his head with my notebook.
"He's just a nice human being, not a dork!", I grunt.
"Whatever", he mumbles. 'What's with him today?', I think to myself.
I feel myself heating up with anger. Or, jealousy. How could I fall in love with the one girl everyone adores? If she wanted me, we would have been together by now, right? But I couldn't give her up, not now.
"Y/n when again are you taking the bandages off?", McNamara smiles, turning around to face her.
"Today actually! I've had these for way to long in my opinion. A week!", the smiling girl replies as we pull up to the school. The shitty school, Westerburg high.
"I better be of to class, thanks for the ride boys. See ya!", Y/n quickly gets out of the car and runs off to God knows who.
"Hunters!", a random girl yells as she runs towards us waiving her hands like a maniac.
"What do you want?", I question. She stops in front of me, breathing heavily. After catching her breath she looks up at us.
"Did you hear? Westerburg is throwing a Christmas ball!", she squeals.
"Wait really?", McNamara gasps. The girl nods and hands me a poster.
"S-So, Hunter. Wanna go with me?", she shutters, looking down at her shoes.

"No", I grunt, making her frown and run into the school. I look down at the poster as well as Duke and McNamara.
"5th December, that's in two weeks", Duke says, trying to grab the poster from me but I glare at him, making him stop trying.
"Well I have a girl in mind to bring", McNamara sighs, slightly drifting off into a daydream. And I know exactly who he's talking about, but his daydream won't come true. I'll make sure of it.
"Vincent!", I smile seeing my best friend standing by his locker.
"Hey Y/n", he smiles back slightly turning red.
"You okay—", I ask but is quickly interrupted by a note pushed in my face and Vincent running down the hall away from me. I look down at the note and read it.
'Meet me at our spot in lunch time', it says. I shrug and put the note in my bag before I head back to class.
I hit my head with a pencil while staring out of the classroom. How can I ask her? Y/n has been in my head since I heard about the ball. She had to go with me.
"McNamara", the teacher says as she clears her voice. "Would you like to tell me the answer to my question".
"I-I didn't hear it, sorry", I murmur.
"Please begin focusing in my class", she sighs before turning back around to face the chap board.
"Hey, what's wrong?", a voice sounding like Kate's whispers from beside me. I really don't want to talk to her, but on the other hand, she's the only girl I can talk to about Y/n.
"It's a girl. I really want to ask her to the Christmas ball, but I don't know how", I whisper back.
"You can just refer to her as Y/n. We all know it", Kate rolls her eyes. I feel myself turning into a tomato.
"A-Anyway", I clear my throat. "You're her friend—I mean, we're her friend. What does she like?". Kate turns quiet for a bit before answering.

"I-I don't know, but all girls like flowers. And also romantic things. So maybe ask her out while on a picnic?", Kate shrugs.
"Great idea, thanks Kate. But, why are you helping me? I though you and Ray wanted us Hunters to yourselves?", I whisper, kinda confused.
"Because I kinda owe it to Y/n", she slightly smiles.
Wow, maybe Kate isn't as bad of a person as I thought.
I sit down at the bench, waiting for Y/n. My heart beating faster than it ever has. I see Y/n running towards me, her hair hopping up at down. My face is feeling hotter than ever as I stand up to greet her.
"Vinny!", she smiles wrapping her arms around me. Geez, this girl is fantastic. I never want to lose her, ever. "What's up?".
"Y/n, I really like you, and please don't laugh because it takes a lot of courage to do this. Y/n L/n, will you go to the ball with me?", I say but someone interrupts me.
"Y/n!", Chandler yells as he runs over to us. "Will you go to the Christmas ball with me?".
"Hey, I asked her first Hunter, back off", I yell, feeling myself heating up, but now with anger. Hunter Chandler has stolen everything from me, and I won't let him steal Y/n.
"I do what ever I want Vincent", Hunter sneers back at me. I clutch my fist before I feel a hand on my shoulder. It's Y/n's.
"Hey, this isn't your decision. It's mine. So if you'll excuse me I'm going to think about my decision. Don't bother following me", Y/n says with irritation in her voice. She lets go of my shoulder and walks off.
"She's right, she'll decide", Vincent sighs. Hunter frowns and walks away, leaving me alone in the freezing air.
"Hello?", Y/n says after picking up the phone.
"Come outside and dress warm, I have a surprise for you", I squeal, feeling myself grin wildly. She agrees and hangs up. A few minutes later she runs out of the door and flinches when she sees me standing right outside.
"Hey, what are we doing?", she smiles, giving me a quick hug. I grab her hand and drag her down the road.
"Hunter! What are you doing?", she giggles as we stop outside the woods. I grab a blindfold from my pocket and take it over her eyes.
"I'll lead the way. Just trust me", I whisper in her ear. She obviously gets goosebumps. I grab her shoulders and lead the way through the dark woods. After a few minutes we come to where I've set the picnic and take off her blind fold.
"Wow! Is this for us?", she gasps running towards it. I laugh and nod before sitting down beside her on the carpet. "You didn't have to do this Hunter".
"Anything for you", I smirk, obviously making her blush. I grab a sandwich and hand it to her. She quickly eats it.
"Peanut butter and Jelly, my favorite!", she gasps, grabbing another one.
After eating and talking for a while, Y/n lays down at her back. Looking up at the dark sky. I lay down beside her, staring up on the shining stars. I grab her hand, it's warm. Now is the perfect time.
"Y/n, would you want to go to the ball with me?", I say quickly, looking over to her. She doesn't answer, just sits up and lets go of my hand. "Hey, you okay?". She looks over at me, with tears forming in her eyes.
"I-I have to go!", she cries as she runs away. And there I'm left confused, and alone.

Rekindle
My Newest, and at the same time, Oldest novel. This is a Rewrite of my very first novel that I begun when I was just starting out. It follows the story of Mark Floyd, a broken man who once tried to do what he thought was right... only to be stabbed in the back and thrown away. Now, pulled into a conflict that spans time and space, Mark has a choice to make; Stand up once more, even if it means facing an unknowable future, or let the Embers of his heart die and sink back into darkness. ----------------------------------- “For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity”. Once part of a Special Ops team in the US Army, Mark Floyd thought he had seen the worst that Humanity had to offer. That was until his final mission, one that would leave him a broken and shattered man, betrayed by the Country he served, and abandoned by society as a whole. His dreams filled with nightmares of the ones he failed to protect, mind and memories clouded by booze and more, Mark finds himself stumbling through life without purpose or desire. Life isn't done with Mark yet, however. For as long as even a single ember remains in a persons heart, here is still yet hope for the flames of Passion and Hope to be Rekindled. When the dying embers of Mark's heart catches the eyes of a Being far beyond his understanding, Mark finds himself thrown into a situation not even his years of training could prepare him for. Will this new chance be Mark's hope at both Redemption and Recompense? Or will it simply be the final nail in the coffin for a man already dead to the World? [This is a rework of my very first story. The general story will remain the same, however a few details have been tweaked, the chapters have be Edited better and some chapters have been broken down into smaller chunks for better flow and consistency. The biggest change will be to the System itself; It will be a lot less "Game-like", meaning no stats, levels or similar aspect, though skills will still be present in the form of "Programs". Instead, It'll focus more on the Sigil's nature as super-computers and how they change the world around them. This should make for a much more "natural" and less info-dumpy system.
