《Besides Being Werewolves, They're Weird, Rude, Confusing, and Clingy》[52]

Wes Knight was a LIAR. He didn't even come to my dorm. His excuse was that he had something to take care of, but what did a pack of werewolves have to take care of when there were no threatening vampires or witches within a 150 mile radius of their territory?
Torrance went to his tux fitting yesterday but now he was hanging out with his friends. Since Jasmine was out of town, that left me alone. In the mean time, I was actually studying both yesterday and today. But now I was starting to crash. I didn't realized I had dozed off until I received a text from a near-stranger.
I knew it was harsh, but she had been harsh in her decision to leave three years ago with her brothers. At least Chase had told me in slight advance. She just left without a goodbye and it hurt. I wondered why she texted me in the first place, but I was slightly grateful because it was now eight and my exam was in thirty minutes.
I quickly rushed around my dorm to get ready and grab my things before practically running through campus to my literature class to make it on time for my exam at eight thirty. As soon as my butt hit the seat, I was angry at my literature professor. His version of advice for an exam was that it was "fair game," "something we learned," or "from the book." I was glad I studied for the last two days, but I still felt behind.
"Good morning, students," our professor greeted at exactly eight twenty-eight. There were a few grumbles and I could tell my classmates were just as thrilled as I was to be here. They looked like they were up all night as well. But I realized that there were a handful of people missing. Maybe that half of the class overslept like I was about to. "As you may know, it's testing day," he added at eight twenty-nine. "Please present a sheet of blank paper on your desk with nothing else except a pen."
We all did it and waited for our repetitive instructions that we received every single test.
"Write your name on the paper with your student ID number and section," he instructed. We all obeyed and then waited until the clock changed to eight thirty exactly. "Now pass them up to the front row."

Wait. What?
"You heard me. Pass your papers forward," he ordered. We all hesitantly passed our papers down to the front row and to the farthest right desk in a pile. How were we supposed to do a test without our paper?
"You've all received a hundred for studying your asses off yet still managing to make it to class," our teacher congratulated. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. "And in note of that, I'm busy and you all are tired. You're free to leave class, but if you see any of your classmates that didn't show up in class today, be sure to inform them that the test was the hardest yet."
Even though I was appreciative of the free grade, I'd kill this professor for misuse of psychological warfare. I grumbled to myself and got up to leave.
"Miss Lindros," he suddenly addressed. I stopped and turned on my heels to face him and walk down the three steps to the front of the room.
"Sir?" I asked.
"How are you and my boy Torrance?" he asked. He loved Torrance. He was his TA all last year and this semester. They had a close relationship that mimicked a father-to-son vibe.
"As good as can be as far as I know. How's your wife doing?" I asked, knowing that she had cancer and they were battling it together.
"She's better...this week," he answered thankfully. She really was a sweet lady who didn't deserve it. What she did deserve was the anonymous donation for her treatment that she recently received. No one knew where it came from, but everyone was still grateful. We had a short conversation before I left to go to my other class.

"So wanna go out sometime?" I heard a girl ask from down the hall as walked to my dorm after my classes were finished. I rounded the corner and saw the scene. Wes leaned against the wall while a fashionable girl stood and twirled her blonde hair. I just shook my head.
"Oh yeah totally," Wes answered as the petite girl smiled up to him. "Let me just go ask my girlfriend..."
I laughed as the girl rolled her eyes and left.

"That was mean," I told Wes as I walked past him to my dorm.
"I thought it was funny," he laughed. I opened my door and threw my bag down before sitting in my chair. Wes followed me in.
"You said you'd be here yesterday," I reminded him as he sat on my bed.
"Something came up," he shrugged. I put my work on my desk and started to use my laptop with a sigh. "How'd your test go?"
"I did not know that this time he meant 'write your name on your paper and pass it up' instead of a hard test worth like thirty percent of our grade," I answered. "Nice to know you remembered though."
"Of course," he beamed. I spun in my chair and started some of my work for school. Suddenly I was spun back around and Wes leaned onto the desk.
"Let's go out," he suggested.
"Weren't you here to tell me something? Not offer to take me out?" I recalled.
"I can tell you wile I take you out," he grumbled. His eyes held humor in its blue color even though he gave me a pained look before standing up straighter.
"Leese!" Torrance's voice called, knocking on the door before opening it. He immediately frowned. "Oh. Hey Wes..."
Wes just hummed and nodded in the shared dissatisfaction. "So me and the guys are gonna take Alicia out tonight, so you can just leave—"
"And what if I was taking Alicia out tonight?" Torrance interrupted.
"Then f*ck your plans because she's going out with me instead," Wes responded.
"Stop it," I warned. "You guys are ridiculous."
"He's ridiculous!" they accused at each other. I scoffed playfully.
"So who's it gonna be?" Wes asked.
"I'm her boyfriend and you're just...you," Torrance insulted.
"I didn't ask you," Wes sneered.
"I think Jasmine and I are going out," I suddenly informed.
"For what?!" they asked.
"We don't need a reason," I said.
"But I need to talk to you," Wes whined.
"You could've done that last night, but you didn't show up. Not my fault," I reminded. I think I heard Torrance laugh at that.
"But it's important," Wes added. Any more of a protest and he would've stomped his foot.
"It doesn't seem too time sensitive because you could've told me already so just tell me whenever—"
"It's something I have to tell you in person and tonight is the only night I can be away from home..."
"You have a phone. Use it," I shrugged.
"I can't," he said, "and plus, I think I lost it."
"Sucks to be you."
"So..."
"No," I declined before he'd ask again.
"Haha," Torrance teased.
"I'm not going out with you either," I told him.
"Haha," Wes mocked as Torrance had.
"What's it about?" I asked Wes.
"Never mind," he mumbled after glancing at Torrance. A ringtone started to ring and Wes pulled his phone out of his pants pocket to check the message. "Eh. Gotta go."
"What happened to your 'lost phone'?" I asked suspiciously.
"Who says this was mine?" he winked before leaving.
"How do you stand him?" Torrance asked me.
"'How do I stand you and him together' is the better question" I countered. "You guys better behave at the wedding."
"Of course I will," he promised.
"Good boy," I teased while poking him. He leaned down to kiss me and it created butterflies in my stomach.
"Hey, can I sleep here tonight?" he asked.
"As I stated before, I'm going out with Jasmine, so if you would like to enjoy an empty room by yourself, by all means, go ahead."
"Never mind then," he sighed. "Well I'll see you later babe," he concluded before kissing me again, but this time I stayed in the kiss and added my hand on the back of his neck to keep him there. My other hand pulled on the bottom of his shirt and played with the loops of his jeans. He pulled away though and gave me a nice smile before leaving.
I just sighed and waited for Jasmine and Eli's big day.
