《Besides Being Werewolves, They're Weird, Rude, Confusing, and Clingy》[31]

"Hey Wes?" I addressed one morning as he drove me to school. He just now turned into the parking lot.

"Yes?"

"How come you never considered marking April?" I asked him curiously. He parked the car and turned to me.

"Who told you that?" he growled.

"Chase..."

He hit the steering wheel and my eyes widened.

"Chase has no room to say shit about me and April or anyone else when it comes to that," he roared.

"I know, but I'm just asking you..." I mumbled.

"Why?" he asked, turning to me. His hair was in his eyes and they were pretty dark. "Are you thinking that I'll mark you?" He leaned his face close to mine. "I wouldn't want you to be stuck in this shit forever," he whispered. "And plus, if...she comes back..."

"I know," I sighed. "It's hard to get out of..."

Wes smiled faintly and I gave him an amused and confused look.

"You think of us being bonded," he sang. I laughed and pushed his face away. He pursed his lips and kissed my hand when it reached his lips. I smiled lightly. He leaned close to me again and then looked to both of my eyes and kissed my lips. I added my hand into his hair and played with it as I kissed him back. I was getting way used to the feeling of his cool lip ring so much that I ran my tongue against it and felt Wes press himself more into me and undo my seat belt. He pulled me over the seat so that I straddled him as his hands roamed beneath my shirt. We parted for a second to catch a breath, but then we were right back to making out. There was a knock on the car's window and then we pulled away when we saw Mason, Eli with Jasmine, and Chase walk past the car. We laughed quietly.

"I think we should get to class now," I giggled.

"Or we can keep doing this," he said before kissing me again. Meanwhile his grasp on my waist was slowly inching its way down...so I pulled away.

"Class. In five minutes," I reminded.

"And? We don't need to go," he shrugged.

"Even though you have forever, I don't," I reminded before opening his door and crawling out. I stretched my hand out to him as he still sat there. He looked up at me with squinted eyes due to the sun. "And I'm not letting you flunk junior year because of an excess amount of absences."

"I'll make it up," he said. A glint ricocheted off of his bright blue eyes. I shifted my look into a persistent one and then he finally grabbed my hand and stood up from the seat.

"You're so lucky I love you," he groaned before lacing our fingers and wrapping his arms around the front of my waist while kissing my neck.

"As lucky as I'll ever be," I returned as we walked into school like that.

"Someone's in an I-got-laid mood," Mason teased at first.

"Ha ha," I said monotonously. "Very funny. Solid observation."

"TMI," Eli commented with disgust all over his face.

"I was kidding," I said, lightly hitting his shoulder.

"Good," Chase replied as he shut his locker and walked away.

"What's drama king pissed about now?" Wes asked the guys as his head was rested on my shoulder.

"He and Kayla got in a fight last night," Eli informed.

"About what?" I asked because from my understanding, Kayla was obsessed with him so why would she ever argue enough to put herself on his bad side? Eli shrugged. I broke out of Wes' hold and jogged through the corridor to catch up with Chase.

"Hey," I said, grabbing his arm. He stopped in the hall and looked down to me, questioning my actions. "What happened with you and Kayla?"

"Doesn't matter," he said before walking away. I followed him and I had to walk quickly since his strides were long.

"Yes it does. I don't want you to be mad at all of us the whole day because of some argument with her," I reasoned. He stopped yet again and then looked down to me.

"I'm not mad...well not at all of you anyways...and it's not because of her," he announced. His jaw tensed up and he looked above me. "I couldn't care less about her at the moment."

"Then why are you in such a bad mood?" I asked. He looked back down to me with his deep chocolate eyes.

"Ask Wes," he said before walking off. What? Wes hadn't done anything. Just as I was completely paused in confusion, someone familiar grabbed my hand and laced our fingers.

"You okay?" Wes asked. I looked up to him.

"What have you done to Chase?" I asked. His forehead wrinkled.

"What?"

"Chase," I started. "He's upset because of you."

"I haven't done anything drastic enough for him to act out today," he assured.

"That's what I thought."

Wes stressfully let out a breath and shook it off.

"Whatever. I'll talk to him later," he decided before I simply nodded and walked to class with him.

Little did I know that Wes' "I'll talk to him later" meant "I'll text him in class." Of course they got caught. But oh no, they had no hesitation with agreeing to the detention and giving up their phones. I started to think it was on purpose even though it left me pacing the hallway outside science class waiting for them after school.

"Excuse me," a voice said from behind me. I turned to see a thin boy with messy bronze hair and piercing golden eyes. He wore a gray jacket and black straight-leg jeans. I'd never seen him before because I doubted that I'd forget that handsome of a face. "Do you know where the archery club meetings are held?"

"Uh yeah, sure," I said. I looked back to the science room's door and decided that I wouldn't be missed. "I can walk you there if you want."

"Thanks," he replied with a friendly smile. I walked through the halls with him following me as I headed toward themost unused hallway that was by the back door to the gym. I looked in the room and the lights were turned off with no one in there.

"It looks like their meeting was cancelled or something. Maybe it moved?" I shrugged as I turned to him. He was looking down at me. I felt like his eyes were shooting straight through me while they swirled suggestively. "I haven't seen you here before. Are you new?"

"No," he answered before his eyes twisted in some way that connected with the innards of my body and then I blacked out.

I woke up with a slight headache and in a strange silver and black room. The sheets were made of satin and the walls were gray with a few furniture items spread around the room. I sat up immediately.

Where the hell was I? How did I even get here? I patted my pockets for my phone and then took it out. I noticed that I had a few missed calls from shared accumulation by Eli, Chase, Wes, and Jasmine. I also had a few texts from Zoey and Wes, but the missed calls were in the dozens. I clicked Wes' name and the speaker button and then held my phone up to my ear. I was in pain of the loud bleeping, which rang from my phone, and a messaged that appeared:

"You are currently out of range. Please try again later."

I opened my phone's keyboard and started texting a group message.

I moved my phone higher into the air and all around so I could find reception as the little loading dots flashed on my screen as I impatiently waited for the message to send. And then...

"You are currently out of range. Your message could not be sent and it was not saved in outbox. Please try again at a better receptive area."

"UGH!" I yelled, throwing my phone down on the bed. I crossed my arms and then re-grabbed my phone to try dozens of times to send messages and make calls to anyone I could. I eventually got fed up and hopped off of the bed and hesitantly walked to the door. I grabbed the handle and sighed quietly before turning it and cracking the door open. I examined the hall to see it was clear, so I opened the door all the way and saw cement walls that were cracked slightly from the ceiling. How was the room so nice when the hallway was not? When I finally leaned my full body out of the door and carefully closed it, something grabbed my wrists. They turned me and I saw the same guy as before, but he looked less friendly and a hell of a lot more menacing.

"Great. You're up," he smirked before throwing me over his shoulder and moving away. We zoomed through the place at an amazing speed—so fast that it was inhuman. I had only known that speed with Chase's running.

I was suddenly dropped onto a carpeted floor in order to see the mystery guy wasn't the only one here with me.

"Hey, Alicia," Riley greeted in such a usual and friendly way as if I wasn't just taken without will. I looked around from the ground and saw as it was an official office setting with red curtains that completely blocked the window and stacked brick walls with an off-white glossy paint.

"Where am I?" I asked. Riley crouched down to my height and then I saw something glint off of his silver eyes.

"You are with me," he said.

"Yeah. I got that. Any more you'd like to answer bluntly, Captain Obvious?" I retorted. He gave me confused look even though I was practically asking for a fed-up one. Then he stood back up and turned to the guy that falsely asked for the archery club directions.

"How'd you get her here?" Riley asked him.

"That's for my business," he hissed.

"Well last time I checked—"

"Hey. Instead of arguing about how the hell I got here, would you like to explain to me why the hell I'm here?!" I interrupted. Both boys looked down to me.

"Because you're with Wes Knight."

And before I knew it, I was being picked up and flown through a passageway at such another amazing speed that my head hurt. I was thrown onto a hard, cement ground and I immediately got up and tried to stop Riley as he walked out, but the barred door was slammed in my face.

"Riley, I thought we were friends!" I yelled after him.

"Oh, we are," he returned calmly, as it echoed through the halls.

At first I hit the bars while yelling out profanities at him, but it was clear that I would be left down here when he walked off. I pulled out my phone once more and then tried to call Wes. Once again it beeped and the same message appeared on the screen. I still tried again, but called Chase the third time.

"You are currently out of range, but if you would like to place a voice message press one—"

I pressed it and it beeped.

"Chase! I don't know where I am, or how I got here, but all I know is that Riley's here too. I don't know why the hell none of my messages are going through on my phone, but get me out of here," I rambled fast since I didn't know my maximum amount of recording. "I don't know what Wes did to make you mad today, but you need to tell him why so you and him can come down here—wherever here is because Riley said it's Wes' fault I'm here... I don't know what will happen if...if I'm stuck here for however long—"

"The voicemail box is full. Recorded message sent," The phone announced, cutting me off. UGH!

I suddenly heard a sound from behind me that didn't originate from me smacking the door in anger. I turned into the dark cellar and heard quiet footsteps hit the cement floor. What was this? What possible monsters could be in here? In a contradiction I was glad that a girl was revealed. She had messy reddish brown hair and partially torn clothing that otherwise looked clean. Her face had a nasty bruise on the side that her hair barely missed to cover though.

"You said Riley..." she mumbled.

"Yeah. The guy that just threw me down here..." I said, pointing over my shoulder.

"So you know him?" she asked. I nodded slowly. "All these months and I finally learn his name...I thought it was Sean."

"Yeah that's his last name. Wait. You've been here for...months?" I choked out. She nodded. I immediately attached my hands to the bars and started to attempt to shake them. "Riley, I swear to God that if I'm down here for months like her, I'll...I'll..."

"You'll what?" he scared me as he showed up out of nowhere. "You'll get your scary boyfriend to beat me up?"

"You sure as hell know he will kill you any chance he gets," I hissed.

"You sure about that?" he laughed. "Because last time I checked, Wes and stupid Chase were locked up in detention."

"Detention ended hours ago," I reminded.

"And?"

"They won't think that I just decided to walk home instead of just waiting an hour for them. What the hell do you think will happen?"

"I don't know. We'll see."

"Judging on the texts and missed calls I've gotten from everyone already, they've noticed I'm gone so we will see," I said, narrowing my eyes.

"What texts and missed calls?" he asked incredulously. I held up my phone and showed him the screen. He reached for it, but I pulled it back. "How do you have that?"

"Um. It's called pockets. I like to put stuff in them," I responded. Plus, what teenager doesn't carry their phone with them? Riley looked over his shoulder.

"Roger, I am going to kill you!" he roared. I laughed and he snapped his head at me. I was scrolling on my phone and saw a hand reach out to grab it, but I pulled it away on time.

"Nice try," I teased. "If you want it, you'll have to come in and get it."

He narrowed his beautiful eyes at me.

"It's no use. Your stupid phone can't hold reception here—"

"One new voicemail," my phone announced.

"Seems to me like Chase got my message," I smiled sarcastically.

"Like Chase gives a crap on where you are," he replied. "You're nothing to him. He has a girlfriend to go home to, not you. Even when he was dating your sister, he still didn't have you to go to."

"You don't know shit about me and Chase," I shouted. I immediately scolded myself for even considering there was a "me and Chase."

"Oh really? Because the multiple fights you and him have sure does put you high on his friends list, right?" Riley taunted. My jaw tensed and I narrowed my eyes.

"I can't believe that I chose you over them," I muttered. "The countless times they told me to stay away from you, and yet I wanted to stay your friend."

"Maybe the knowledge that you actually were my friend will make me go softer towards you, or maybe spare you actually seeing the man you love die trying to save you."

"You kill him and I kill you," I threatened as tears welled up in my eyes. I couldn't fathom the thought of Wes ever having to die...especially for me...especially in front of me...But to my surprise, my brain referred me to Chase.

"Says the girl locked away," he responded. I was really starting to hate him now. Just like Wes and Chase had hated him this whole time. "Alicia, you are seriously not crying right now. You can sit in a freaking graveyard all day in mourning your Dad and not shed a tear, but—"

"Don't you dare bring my father into this!"

"—but when it comes to you being vulnerable because of some guy, you start water-falling," he finished anyways, even though I stopped every other tear since the first one. "It's even funnier because the one person that breaks down your little wall is gonna get every part of him broken down until he dies for you."

"Like I said—you kill him, or any one of them...and I'll personally kill you," I managed to retort. He gave me a doubtful look.

"Maybe you'll be dead first," he suggested. I let out a small grasp and he laughed and started to back away. "Or who knows, maybe you'll have a change of heart and end up being with me."

I couldn't respond because I was having a panic attack. I was sucking in as much air as possible as I fell to the ground and my chest got tight. Someone hit my back and then I felt my heart ease up, even though I was still breathing heavily. I looked up to see the girl.

"We'll get through this," she said.

"I can honestly say I don't believe you," I responded.
