《Besides Being Werewolves, They're Weird, Rude, Confusing, and Clingy》[1]

A/N (2020): Howdy! FUN FACT: Considering I wrote this before my eighth grade year, and posted it on quizilla before here on wattpad, this story is (a little over) TEN YEARS OLD this summer. This serves no immediate relevance, but I would like you readers to understand that ten years ago, I was a non-cussing, grammar-questioning, and movie/book-impressioned young girl (I was literally 12 years old)...meaning I censored my cuss words that were bound to be in this story, I have areas of horrible grammar, and worst of all, I didn't understand high school or boyfriends or werewolves or conclusive plot lines. Bear with me and enjoy the story though!

******STORY START********

"Excited for school tomorrow?" my best friend Jasmine asked me as I laid upside down in my bed and played with strands of my hair.

"Ha. You're funny, J," I replied with a sarcastic laugh. Like anyone in their right mind would be excited for school to start. That meant it was time to kiss summer goodbye.

"I was just asking..." Jasmine responded, although being my best friend, she should've known that my answer wouldn't necessarily be optimistic when it came to school.

"Hello, lovelies," a cheerful voice greeted. It was my sister Zoey in a better mood than I would've guessed. "I come bearing gifts."

I back-rolled off my bed and sat on the floor to face my sister who stood at the door with a plate of cookies. It didn't take long before I basically tackled her for the goods.

"Share much?" Jasmine asked. I glared at her. She and my sister Zoey laughed once before taking the plate away from me.

"So any goals for this year?" Zoey asked.

"Boys," Jasmine immediately answered. Of course... I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "What? I am seventeen years old and I think it's about time I find that one special guy that won't be a piece of shit."

"Amen to that," Zoey chanted.

Even though Jasmine had her fair share of dud boyfriends purely who were immature, her relationship failures were minor compared to Zoey's repetitive tragedies. Her first boyfriend back in middle school cheated on her (if having a side "relationship" with someone who was three states away in his home state counted for the pubescent fling). It took her all these years to build honest trust towards her other boyfriends, regardless of how unofficial relationships were back then. And then there was Micah: the "love of Zoey's life." Well that was until he was caught cheating on her...by me. It broke my heart to have to tell her the sight of seeing him on top of a half naked girl. You haven't seen pain until you catch your sister's love cheating...especially on their year and a half anniversary.

Either way, I had immediately built a wall up that no guy could tear down because of their relationships by proxy. As if they even tried...

"Lili? What are your goals this year?" Zoey asked me-using their Godforsaken nickname that they made up for me when I was younger- as if they'd ask me this question a dozen times and I dozed off.

"Oh I don't know. Find the love of my life and have amazing adventures with him. Not to mention be top of my class and be the most talked about girl?" I fantasized with sarcasm. Yeah right. "I just want to make it through the year."

It was junior year-nothing special...what could go wrong?

"My goal is coming to life!" Jasmine squealed to me as she basically tackled me at school.

"How so?" I asked, sighing in my fatigue because I was used to staying up until four in the morning and sleeping until the afternoon. I was clearly not used to having to wake up to go to school so early in the morning. Instead of her answering me, she grabbed my wrist and dragged me away. "Jasmine-"

"Look!" she silenced me. Before I glared at her for being so demanding, we were now behind a corner of lockers, looking down the opposite hallway.

"What? I don't get it," I whispered at her, not really knowing what she brought me here for.

"Look," she commanded. I tried to focus on what she stared at and saw her targets.

"You are not serious," I said to her. She slapped herself out of her gaze before I had to. "You cannot be serious."

"Oh but I am," she assured. I rolled my eyes and walked away. She was referring to a group containing four boys. I didn't really see them through the rushing and crowded high school corridor, but I knew one thing-they were tall and unknown. And Jasmine wanted a piece of them.

As she looked back to view them, they had disappeared. With that, the bell rang. I rushed off to my first period class and took my usual first-day-claimed seat in the back. As I read over my schedule to really understand and memorize it, a big tanned hand landed on my desk. I looked up to see a boy with long dark hair and matching dark eyes (despite their blue allure) looking down to me.

"Up," he demanded.

"Excuse me?" I asked. That was a bold order.

"Oh look, you're in luck. You're excused so get up and move," the boy commanded. As I stood my ground and glared at him, I noticed that he looked like the stereotypical scene kid-long unruly hair, mysterious eyes, and even a lip piercing. Oh, you're cool. Before I could retort anything, he eased up from my desk as his friend tapped his shoulder and whispered something to him. And before I could look at the jerk's friend, he stood up straight and blocked the view. His friend pulled his backpack on his shoulder and walked past me as they took the other seats in the back. Two more tall new guys passed my desk, but the demanding jerk from earlier placed a hand on the back of my chair and the corner of my desk, blocking me in.

"You got lucky this time," he whispered in my ear before he took the seat furthest away from me in the back row. Ugh. Jerk. After he sat down, I looked over to him and saw him talking to his friend to his right. As I looked back to my desk and my vision turned, I noticed that his other friend snapped his head away from my direction. He added his right hand to the side of his cheek as his elbow rested on the desk, blocking any view of him even though something was drawing me to look at him. He started to interrupt the conversation that his other two friends had going on.

"Hey," someone to my left whispered. I looked over to see a boy with shaggy yet short brown hair whispering to me as his arm stretched out to the desk adjacent to my left-which was empty between us. He was ridiculously cute. "Don't worry about him; he's just an asshole."

I smirked and laughed once.

"What's your name, cutie?" he asked with a small smile.

"Alicia," I answered.

"Nice to meet you, Alicia," he smirked and leaned back in his seat as the teacher started class. Even though I would normally question the catch for why such a handsome guy was asking me for my name, but I was distracted by the other guy who had seemingly controlled the jerk from before. Like earlier, I thought that I saw the other guy looking at me and then turn back around. There was no way I was imaging it.

Eight classes and I only had three of them with Jasmine along with lunch. And obviously none with Zoey because she's a senior, but we still had the same lunch period.

"Still on the boy hunt?" I asked Jasmine. She bit her bottom lip, nervously, but managed a smile. Cool for her I guess.

"Yup," she answered, cheerfully. "Why do you look so bothered?"

"Maybe because I am?" I replied in a mumble.

The scene-looking jerk that demanded my seat in first period was in six of my classes. Might I add, I noticed that he tried to seduce as many girls as he passed? A boy with long hair, lip piercing, tall height, muscles, and black straight-leg jeans caught the attention of various girls-regardless of the fact that he was just plain rude everyone else. He gave me daggers any time I was in a ten foot radius of him. But I didn't care. In every class, I claimed my back corner seat and he dealt with it.

The cute boy who asked my name, however, was genuinely nice even though he was quiet. I only had three classes with him though. Of course two of those same classes I had with Jasmine...thankfully. Also, the other boy that talked to Jerk-face in first period had those same classes. And then there was the boy that I kept swearing to myself that he kept looking at me. He had five classes with me. Therefore, there wasn't a single class of mine without someone from their exclusive group.

I was starting to think that when the bell would eventually ring, I'd nearly have to drag Jasmine out of eighth period. She was unmistakably staring directly at the four boys with her head on her palm. When the bell rang, the four boys walked past our desks and Jerk-face was in the back. Instead of continuing to walk and ignore us, Jerk-face stopped at mine and Jasmine's desks. He placed a hand on her desk and the back of her chair. He smirked as he looked to Jasmine.

"How's it going?" he muttered to her. Heat rushed to her face along with her huge smile. I scoffed and rolled my eyes as he looked to me before smirking and leaving with his friends.

"Jasmine!" I said to her as I slapped my hand onto her desk. She snapped out of it and then looked at me with a questioning look. I walked away from her boy-crazed self and watched as one of the exclusive boys talked to my sister as she was up against the wall and he towered over her. It was the Staring-guy.

They exchanged conversation and then he left, now walking in my direction as I felt Jasmine exit the room from behind me as I stood at the doorway. The boy still walked past us and looked down to us. I noticed that regardless of any specific qualities of his face, he was absolutely handsome. The one thing that I noticed prominently was his eyes. I couldn't identify the color, even though he stared directly at me for three seconds in his passing.

I was confused in an instant, but felt two girls shaking my arm. Annoyed at the movement, I looked to Zoey and Jasmine.

"Let's go before they leave campus," Jasmine suggested.

"Well they kind of already left..." I noted.

"Exactly! Don't you wanna know where they live?" Jasmine asked.

"Quite frankly, no," I answered, honestly. What magical aura did they have to make my best friend go totally stalker-psycho. "I couldn't give a damn about some new jerks."

"They're not all jerks..." Zoey mumbled. I glared at her.

"Well I'm curious, so...yeah-bye," Jasmine said, heading in the direction that the boys left. Then Zoey followed her. Although I didn't want to, I followed them. The boys walked side-by-side down the sidewalk out of the school campus. I couldn't believe we were actually following them, but I admit that I was curious to where they lived, considering they left the school through the back way and not through the front. Suddenly, the four boys stopped in their tracks. I stopped myself and then grabbed Jasmine and Zoey's arms to pull them into nearby bushes. I looked forward as the boys decided to continue walking...but not without Stare-guy looking back briefly with warning eyes. I was hesitant to move and waited until they rounded the corner.

"Close call," Jasmine commented.

"Exactly why we shouldn't be following a group of boys that we met just today," I reasoned, but it was an unheard and/or uncared for comment
