Did we all forget Virgil often had nightmares when Thomas was younger? Because-and I hate to admit it-I did.

I woke up during the night needing to get something to drink. So I did, and was on my way to my room-with the pastel pink and purple striped door-when noise from the black and purple striped door caught my attention. Gently pushing it open, I saw Virgil, curled up in his hoodie-that was still 2x too big for his now 11 year old body-but he was crying. "Verge?" I walk in, and sit on the edge of the bed, unsure of what to do. "Do you need anything?" he nods. 'A hug maybe?" another nod, quicker this time. I move closer, and hug him.

"It's okay." I whisper, starting to rub his back in circles. "I'm here." I wasn't sure what to do next, but whenever I have a nightmare, Patton usually sings a song to calm me down.

Would that help Virgil?

I chose to sing one of our favorites-from the Prince of Egypt. "River Lullaby."

"Hush now, my baby

Be still love, don't crySleep like you're rocked by the streamSleep and rememberMy last lullabyAnd I'll be with you when you dream...." Virgil leans his head against my shoulder, and I continue singing,

He was asleep.

Now what? I leaned him down so he was back on the pillow, and covered him up. As I started to go, he grabbed my hand sleepily. "Stay.." he mumbles.

How do you argue with the cutest Side ever?

Quick answer:

You don't.

So, I moved back over, and he snuggles closer, and falls asleep.

"Night Verge," I whisper, then I fall asleep, too.
