Scene. (Continue.)

“Eva.. Who is at the door?” I ask Eva through mind link. I try to sit up straight in the bed by pain erupts from my torso. My muscles in my leg feel so weak and let my body lay back on bed.

“Dr. Miller, Maxwell and Demi are here.” She says through mind link and few seconds later, Dr. Miller with My mate Eva walk in the room.

“How are you feeling ? Alpha.” Dr. Miller ask in his not so sweet voice. He is all well dressed up in professional Black suit and blue tie and my eyes move over to my Beautiful Mate Eva. She is dressed in baggy sweatshirt and black pants, she looks stunning as ever.

“I am just fine as it is. Glad to be not dead.” I say.

“It’s good to hear that son i am glad that you are okay. I am sure Our Dr. Luna is taking good care of you.” He says and walk by the side of my bed where I lay.

“Now I and going to check few thing.” He places his stethoscope on my chest and then check my limb reflexes along with few other things before speaking again.

“Everything looks fine and you are recovering well. But I would like to recommend at least one month of complete bed rest. No harsh exercise or activities out of the room.”

“I can think of some activities I can do in this room.” I say and glance over to Eva, she is all blushing red.

‘You have a dirty mind. But I like that idea.’ Anna, Eva’s wolf mind links me and a smile spreads on my face.

“No physical activity at all. Your Lung need time to recover from the trauma, same is with your muscles.” Dr. Miller says in his professional tone.

He turns over to Eva and discuss the medication for my recovery and leaves. Eva walks Mr. Miller out of the room, leaving me all alone in the room. I have a strange feeling in my gut, it’s kind of irritating me to not know what it is.

As soon as Mr. Miller leaves, my Beta Maxwell walks in with in hand. I see his big grin over his stupid face. “What’s up bro..?” he asks. He places himself over the chair by the side of the bed.

“I am your Alpha. You stupid man. Give your Alpha some respect.” I say in my irritated voice.

“I am your best friend. And for your kind information your mate is current working Alpha of the pack and I must say she is pretty good at it, much better than you.” He grins and pets the smelly Cat on the head.

Getting all irritated by the situation and this foreign smell. I ask “What’s with this stupid smell?. It’s irritating me and my wolf.”

Smile from his stupid face fell and his complete attention is on me as he asks. “Eva didn’t tell you?”

“Tell me what?” I ask.

‘Did Eva adopt a new creature?. New cat? It was all over her and I didn’t like her smelling like anyone else other than us.’ My wolf mind links me.

“I will let Eva tell you the news.” Why is he so secretive over such things.

“What news?” I ask in irritation. It’s getting on my nerves. With in instance Eva walks in the master bedroom with Demi holding two trays of food. I again smell the same annoying smell all over Eva.

“I got us some food.” Eva says and just ignores my questioning glare and moves over to her side of bed.

“How are you feeling Alpha?” Demi asks respectfully.

“I am Feeling Alright.” I reply.

“Maxwell, could you please help Liam to sit up straight by the headboard.” She asks Maxwell and he helps me to sit up.

Room fells all quiet, too quiet for my liking.

“I Umm.. um have some work at the office. I will visit you again later.” Maxwell says and quickly runs out of the room.

“Come-on, eat your food and Don’t forget to take all the medications.” Eva says and dig in her fruit bowl, I don’t know what but I feel something is fishy.

I take the medication Eva gave me and soon sleep engulf my body.

"Sleep well." She says and i close my eyes.

......Few days later......

“Is there something wrong. Eva.? Are you giving me silent treatment again.? You have been ignoring me for last few days now.You didn't even kiss me today.” I ask my mate.

Lately she has become moody. Like every moody and overly emotional. When ever i try to discuss the topic of The News with her she just either ignores it or argues with me for all the mess she goes through the day in Alpha's office.

I know she have so much on her plate right now.

And I am mentally dying to touch my Mate. She is avoiding me and my wolf. We both need our mate, but it’s only possible when she is not giving us silent treatment. She is angry at me and my wolf Leo.

“No.” she says and avoid making eye contact with me by stuffing a huge bite food in her mouth and chew on it. I am curious about ‘THE NEWS’ now. It's been few days, since Maxwell told me about Eva having something to say to me.

I try different approach “Maxwell told me some news the other day. When were you going to tell me about it.?” Let’s just hope she tells me now.

I see her facial expression turn in to complete shock as her beautiful brown eyes shrink to look at my face. “No, he didn’t tell you. I specifically asked everybody not to tell you. I should be the first one to tell you the news.” She says and gets off the bed.

“So you want to discuss about it then?.” I ask as hope fill my eyes and I try let her feel my feelings for her through the bond.

“Eva. I am your mate. If something is bothering you, please tell me, so that I can help you.”

She turns her body to face me and audibly takes in a deep breath. “Ok. Don’t freak out Liam on what I am going to tell you. I am not sure how you would react on this thing. I know I should have called you and told you about it, but I thought you were pissed at me and didn’t want to be with me anymore. Anna also told me to tell you but I with hold this information from you. I felt so alone without you by my side, I thought I could do this alone without your help but-”

Her whirlwind of emotions through the bond is making me feel that something has gone terribly wrong. She is scarring me now.

“Eva, tell me already.” I ask her impatiently. I want to touch her and soothe her inner turmoil.

“You are going to be a dad and I am preg-.” Mid sentence she starts sobbing.

“You are what.?!” I didn’t mean to ask her so harshly but it has definitely affected Eva. "Are you sure the pup you are carrying is mine.?" I say without any thought.

I would very much like to blame this on medications i take, making me dizzy, but we both very well know it's not.

Room gets completely silent, only Eva’s sobs can be heard and I am frozen on the bed, nothing coming in my mind. I know that I have fucked up. I completely shut up my mouth, not to anger my mate any more.

Few seconds later, I feel Eva’s walls go up in our mate bond. She wipes off her tears. “I am having a pup. If you don’t want it you can just leave. I am very well capable of having this pup without anybody’s help.”

She says very seriously and no words come out of my mouth.

I know that i should ask her for forgiveness but i am too stunned by the news. Eva is having my pup.

She places a protective hand on her swollen tummy, which by the way I have just now noticed. I stare at her tummy for few seconds, different types of emotions dwell in my mind. My attention is again diverted to Eva when she speaks again “Don’t you dare come near me and my pup now, Liam Knight.You don't want it, it's okay. But I am warning you, I will kill you even if you tried to come near me or my pup, mate or no mate.” I see thunder in her eyes, her anger has turned up a notch, as she speaks with authority just like a fierce mother who is protective over her pup would kill anyone for her pup.
