《Babysitting the Demon's baby ✔️》i

In desperate need of money Ria takes the first babysitting job she's offered. She didn't expect to work for the big name of the country, August Knight, but with two months of rent due she didn't hesitate to sign the contract. His baby was an angel, with the sweetest grin showing his little teeth and twinkling eyes, cheeks so squishy August personally asked her not to squish it too much in the contract.
Aaron, the sweetest little baby, who was still learning how to talk but loved blabbering his mind out all day as he followed his babysitter around the house. Sadly for the girl, her bliss at job lasted exactly three days. The fourth day started just like the usual, she arrived right on time to be greeted by her employer who was hugging the sleepy form of his son.
"Take him from me, quick! I'm running late."
"Yes sure sure! Have a great day!" Ria wished him as she hugged sleeping Aaron close to her, quickly sniffing his pure baby smell. August hummed in response and shrugged on his black suit. He looked every bit like a ruthless ceo he's described as in the magazines, cliche but so sexy.
After August drove off, Ria hummed to herself as she climbed up the stairs to the second floor and slipped into Aaron's bedroom. She quickly set the boy down and placed a sweet kiss on his forehead. Aaron looked like an angel when he's asleep. She went downstairs, humming a random tune as she started prepping for lunch. Their day was going exactly how it was supposed to.
Well, until it wasn't.
August furrowed his eyebrows together when his phone started ringing. He hated being disturbed during work. Since the call was from his son's babysitter he picked it up anyway.
"What is it?"
"YOUR SON SET THE COLORING BOOK ON FIRE!" Ria had screamed. August grimaced at her high pitch. "Then put off the fire, why are you calling me?"
"No you don't understand! Your son set the book on fire! With his mouth! He spit out fire! Out of his mouth! And now he's giggling like a pure angel as if the book isn't just ashes now!"
Realization dawned on August and a small smile stretched on his face. His little boy was growing up so fast.
"Lovely!"
"ARE YOU HIGH?"
"Ria, you do as I instruct you to, feed him only light food and give him a shower if his body temperature goes up. Am I clear?"
"NO MR KNIGHT YOURE NOT CLEAR!"
"Cease the unnecessary screaming."
"Your son spit out fire, any mentally stable person would scream!" Ria repeated again. But then she cooed. "He's such a sweet little thing! He's trying to eat the slippers you wear at home and won't stop giggling!"
"Yes Ria, demons spit out fire." Was August's response. There was small pause before a dramatic gasp, then Ria spoke again. "Your baby is a demon?"
"Goes after his father I believe."
There was a longer pause, followed by a screech. "You exist?" She shouted.
"I'd appreciate if you save my slippers from him and stop shouting, take care of my baby well."
"You and I are having a big ass conversation tonight, I don't care how busy of a person you are. I have to go now, Aaron is trying to eat his pencils. I'm sorry I think he already ate the blue color! Gotta go!!!!" Ria probably set her phone down and forgot to decline the call. August could very faintly listen to their conversation.

"Baby no, pencils are not food!"
"Am hungy."
"Aw my baby are you hungry? What do you want to eat?"
"Cookies, mwake cookies pweese, Ria."
There was a sound, a lot like a whale dying, made by Ria. "My angel baby wants cookies!"
"Yesss, lots of choc-wates pweese."
"Sure baby, lots and lots of chocolates for you, but in return you have to give me lots and lots of kisses."
Then they were both giggling. August hung up there and looked back at his computer screen, but there sure was a faint smile on his face. Ria wasn't really what he looked for in a babysitter for his demonic son, yes. But she was kind and she was brave. Aaron liked her a lot too.
Maybe, just maybe, she will look at this misfit duo of a son-dad one day and wish to stay.
That night, when he returned from work Aaron was already asleep in his bedroom and Ria was waiting downstairs. The said demon quietly took a seat across her.
"Before we start, yes, I'm immortal and no, you can't poke my horns." August broke the silence. Ria gulped before speaking. "But can I see you? Demon you?"
"That's not a problem, but are you sure you'll be able to handle?" He asked her. Ria chuckled. "I saw your baby setting his books on fire, I can handle horns too."
August nodded. "Well then," And he shut his eyes firmly. Ria gasped when she saw two black horns slowly rising up and when August blinked his eyes open, they were pitch black. Not a hint of white in them. Suddenly her mouth ran dry, she just stared intently.
After a long silence consisting Ria just staring at her boss openly, August smirked. That seemed to pull Ria out of her thoughts. His smirk made him appear so much more sinister.
"I can't believe you're a demon."
"A very powerful one." August added.
"And so is Aaron?" She asked.
"Ah about that, today was the first day he showed his power and I wasn't present for him. Can't say you handled it well, but anyone else would've abandoned him here all alone and run for their life. I appreciate that."
"I'd never abandon him! It's not like he's done anything wrong. He's just an innocent demon baby!" Ria spoke. August feels his heart squeeze, just a little bit. The sincerity in her voice calms him yet makes him wary at the same time.
"You've done a great job today, my driver will drop you off. Good night, Ria."
—
Next morning, Ria greeted him with a bright smile and took a very sleepy and whiny Aaron from his arms. She pressed a firm kiss on the boys head, muttering something lovingly. That was enough assurance for August. As much he hates not being able to spend so much time with his son, there's still peace in knowing he's in good hands.
He was sure the duo will be having a very normal day when, sometime before lunch, Ria was calling him again. He couldn't pick it up the first time, already busy talking to one of his workers on his other phone. But Ria ringed again and he picked it up, a little annoyed.
"What is it this time?"
There was a choked noise, Ria was in tears. "I just wanted to say, you have the cutest little demon baby," She choked on her words again. August was sure she was bawling her eyes out.

He sighed. "What did Aaron do?"
"Nothing, he-he... so I ordered a vampire costume for him few days ago and i-it arrived today. He's spitting fire in his vampire costume," Ria sniffled. "I don't know if vampires do that? Like who cares? He set two trees in your garden on fire, looking absolutely the cutest and I just can't stop crying. Thank you for hiring me August!"
"Okay, Ria. Now please stop crying. What will Aaron think?"
"He wants to see you! Wait let me call you on FaceTime!" Ria immediately cut the call only to call him on FaceTime in a few moments. The Call connected and on his screen was his precious little boy, grinning ear to ear in his little vampire costume. Ria even did some makeup on him.
"Dwaddy!"
"Hey little man, you look scary." He smiled down at his phone, adoration pouring out for his only family. Aaron giggled. "Dwaddy Riri made me vampy!"
"Riri?"
Another face appeared on the screen and she was smiling brightly. "Me! That's me!" Ria answered. The phone jostled again so the camera was very close to Aaron's face this time. "Dwaddy I can mwake evvything bunn!"
"Is that so? Why don't you show daddy?"
The phone jostled some more so now Ria was holding it and camera pointed on Aaron who was running a few feet away. He stopped then turned around, closed his little fists tightly before making a face and fire came out of his mouth. It didn't last very long and sure the heat wasn't much too. But Aaron was doing pretty well for a three years old.
"Yes! You show daddy your fire baby! Ohmygod that's my baby!" Ria was shouting. August had to roll his eyes, strictly instructed Ria not to cry again and blowed a kiss to his son before he finally cut the call and went back to work. The call was shorter than five minutes but it seemed to brighten up his dull day almost immediately.
—
A week after the first fire incident, things had fallen back to normal. One morning, Ria went too early, August had shared the password with her and even accessed her fingerprint in the front door. She was in the kitchen, prepping breakfast for the two of them when she heard footsteps approaching.
"Oh you're here."
She turned around to greet August but froze. There stood Daddy Demon, sweaty gym clothes clinging to his abs and a drink in his hand. Ria bit down hardly on her bottom lip. He wore basket ball shorts that hugged his muscular thighs and the muscle flexed as he took a step closer. "You alright?" He questioned.
"Co-coffee?"
"Dark please. Let me go shower." He walks away and Ria gapes at his perfect butt in the most inappropriate way possible. It's too damn early for this.
But then August walked back into the kitchen, wearing a cotton white shirt tucked inside his slacks, sleeves rolled up. The buttons he left open gave her a very clear view of hard chest.
Like, it's hard for Ria, you know?
August is bloody attractive when he's dressed in work clothes, clothes that keeps most of his figure well clad. But now, he's practically naked and roaming around in the same room as her. Ria is certain her heart will jump out of her throat. The more she sees, the more greedier she becomes. It must be such a glorious sight, August Knight roaming naked.
"What the fuck Ria stop it stop it!" She mumbled to herself as she turned around, shaking her head to get rid of the colorful images flashing in front of her eyes.
"I'd very much appreciate it if you don't use that language in front of my son." August commented as he took a seat. Ria scoffed. "We both know who August could learn that word from, and that's definitely not me."
August looked up from his coffee. "So you're saying me?"
"You cursed on the phone while Aaron and I were in the next room, we could hear you!"
August set his mug down. "Okay, I'll be careful."
"Uhm, also for tomorrow. Could you come back early if possible? I'm going out with some of my friends so-"
"Yeah sure."
Ria widened her eyes. They did not just have a civil conversation over breakfast? And that too without August reminding her to do her job properly? It was entirely too good to be true.
"Also don't teach my son these comical facial expressions. I dislike it."
What a fucking asshole, Ria thought as she pursed her lips. Blissfully unaware that August could read her mind.
—
True to his words, August returned early. He was greeted by the usually occupied living room deserted and shrieking laughter coming from the guest bedroom. He let his feet carry him to the source with urgency.
"Riri you lwook so pwetty!"
"Thanks baby, do you like the lipstick though? I think it's a bit too much!"
"No no no! Red pwetty Riri pwetty!" Aaron said again and it made the babysitter laugh. When August peeked in, Ria was pressing a noisy kiss on Aaron's cheek and leaving a bright red lip mark on his bubbly cheek.
"I love you so much my prince, you're the best."
Aaron clapped happily. "I lub you mwor." He responded before his eyes landed on his father who was leaning against the doorframe. "Dwaddy is home!"
Ria turned around swiftly and the sight that greeted him, nothing could prepare him for it. Ria was in such a short black dress that hugged her curves and rested over her mid thigh. The smoky makeup making her hazel eyes stand out and her lips painted a tantalizing shade of red. Would it be too scandalizing? To pull her in and devour those pretty lips he's found himself staring at too many times.
"Oh hey! I hope you didn't mind me using the bathroom to get ready!"
August shook his head, trying his best to form words. "It's okay." He replied.
The way Ria is dressed, she's going out clubbing. A wild night out with her friends in a club where everyone can see just how attractive she is. August isn't sure he likes the idea of other's eyes on Ria.
Aaron, in the mean time, had looked at his reflection on the mirror and squealed. "Riri lips on my cheekies! Riri kissy again pweese!"
Ria giggled as she kissed the other cheek and left a lip stain there too. The demon baby giggled as he looked at his reflection. August once again finds himself melting at the scene. Last few years he had failed to provide this for his son, an environment filled with love for him to grow up in.
Aaron pointed at his father. "Kiss dwaddy?"
Ria choked on her words as she frantically shook her head. "No baby, all my kisses are for you." She said as she placed another kiss on Aaron's nose, leaving another spot. The boy giggled, as if he didn't bite his fork into two during lunch today.
"I'll get going now! Good night you two!" Ria reached for her purse and August couldn't hold it in anymore. He spit out the words in his mind. "Share your location with me."
Ria raised a single eyebrow. "Hm?"
"Send me your location, you're going out alone."
"I'm going with my friends though!"
"Just send me a text of where you're going or something, it's not that hard." August used his commanding tone making Ria huff. "Fine, I will."
That puts him at ease. August knows he shouldn't even be worried in the first place, Ria and he doesn't share anything special. The text arrived an hour later and Ria was in a club indeed, a club belonging to none other but August Knight himself. The man smirked.
Condolences to Ria, but he wasn't a good man. He was a demon, in fact.
His son was already asleep so he ringed his kind neighbor to come and look over his son.
"Work emergency, or else you know I would never bother you!" He tried his best to sound sincere.
"Oh Mr.Knight! I understand! Don't worry Aaron is safe with me."
With one grateful smile her way he went to change. He picked his sexy leather jacket from Louis Vuitton and fetched the keys to his brand new Lamborghini.
—
August wasn't planning to look like sex on legs, he was just feeling himself and it pleased him beyond words to see heads turn as he confidently strode in. His eyes scanned the crowd, looking for that one woman but she was nowhere to be seen. She couldn't have left so early? The night has only just began. Ria wouldn't send him the wrong location either, she was too innocent to lie to him.
Then where was she?
Someone bumped into his back then, startling him. August turns around just in time to catch the already falling woman in his arms. A pair of hazel eyes blinked up at him.
"You!"
"What a coincidence!" August feigns surprise.
"Indeed!"
"And Ria,"
"Yes?"
"You look absolutely shit faced."
The babysitter bursts into fits of giggles. August finds himself smiling too, her smile was contagious and it only expanded the already growing soft spot in his heart, for her.
"You see, I wasn't planning to. But, an unfortunate series of events happened. And here I am!" Though Ria speaks with a smile, something she always does, there's still a hint of sadness in those eyes. August tightens his grip around her waist, pulling her closer.
"Sad, really. But I think I should drop you home now."
Ria untangles herself from him. Her accusing finger probs at his chest. "You know what I absolutely hate in a man? This. Don't act like you're my dad, don't talk like you're my dad and definitely do not speak of my dad." She says angrily, tears now blurring her eyes. August sighs.
Good old daddy issues.
"May I drop you home, if you don't mind?" His tone is much softer. Ria sniffs, then nods. "You may."
—
That's how they find themselves back in his car, Theo driving rather slowly. Ria sighs loudly, staring out of the window.
"My dad," she sniffs. August was half expecting her to start talking about this. In this life as a demon, he's heard numerous stories that ashen the lives of these silly mortals. But when it's Ria, it actually catches his interest. They stop at red light and he fully turns at her.
"He was there tonight. With his girlfriend, I suppose. The girl looks as young as I do." She sighs, defeated. "After their divorce I used to live with my mum, but she died when I was ten. He didn't take me in, he put me up for adoption. No one adopted me, they didn't want me for god knows why." There's tears stinging her eyes, making them look glassy. The neon lights from the street reflect on her almond eyes, August is captivated with this little thing.
"It was just so upsetting. No one wanted me. The only person who did, my mom, she left me too. Well that's, that was until I met your son. Aaron is an angel. I know he's a demon and all. But he's too good for this world and I-I love him."
August nods awkwardly at the untimely confession for his son, but he shared her sentiments. Aaron is very easy to fall in love with.
"Yes, my boy is lovely." He says as the light turns green and he starts driving again. Ria quietly wiped her tears away.
"Your dad is an ass, the old fuck never deserved a daughter like you. I'm sure you know that by now. But what you said earlier, I don't entirely agree with you. Aaron wants you and so do I. You are a part of the family now, he's way too attached to you to let go."
Ria smiles. August smiles too, he knows she won't remember any of it tomorrow. She's still drunk.
"Can I ask you something?"
August hums.
"Where is Aaron's mother?"
"Oh, he doesn't have one."
"What? Is he like the Satan's son or something..."
"The devil's." August corrects. Ria is still confused. "Devil or not, he'd still need a mom."
"The woman who gave birth to him died."
Ria gasps. "Died? But how?"
"Deal with the devil gone wrong."
She sinks back to her seat. August looks at her from the corner of his eye. There's a faint smile on her face now.
"So you're single?"
"I don't want to answer that." He replied coldly. That elicits a giggle from her. "Available on the market?"
"We're here."
