《PHAT》Chapter Sixteen.

My heart was in my stomach. It was like two car loads of men outside that door. Every one of them had guns. I ran into the bathroom and locked the door. I was officially in panic mode.
I climbed on the sink to try to open the bathroom window but it was bolted to tight. I needed some hard to push it open. I found a air freshener and banged the lock till it fell off. Once was open. I heard foot steps running towards the bathroom. Than a hard bang at the bathroom door. The banging got louder and soon I heard more voices. I hurried up and threw the duffle bag out the window first and tried climbing out without hurting myself, but when the door got kicked in it shocked me causing me to hit the ground hard. "Fuck" I said in a low voice. "She went out the window" someone said. He shot at me barley missing my face.
I got to my feet and picked up the duffle bag and started to run, but when I fell I really hurt my leg. I looked back and I seen one of the guys coming after me. I started to run faster and dipped off in someone house. I hid behind a shed.
"I don't see her" dude said with a gun in his hand. "Find that bitch" a voice said on the phone. Once I thought it was clear I started to run again. I found myself out of breathe so I started to walk. My feet was all scratched up from running barefooted. I needed to sit down. I looked through the bag looking for my cell phone and realized I left my purse. I had to go use a pay phone. I dialed the only number I knew would answer.
"Kayla" I said through the phone out of breathe. "I need a favor" I added. "Nikki are you okay" she said. "Yea I'm fine can I crash at your spot for a few days" I said. "Yes you know you can" she said. "Okay I'll be there in like two days" I said hanging up the phone.

The cab only took me so far so I had to get a hotel. I laid the duffle bag on the floor and went to the bathroom. I had so many cuts on my feet. After I used the first aid kit on my feet I sat on the bed and went through the money. It was enough to last me a very long time. My problem is I don't know how to cut up dope and sell it. I took the lap off the table and took out a key. I grabbed some scissors from the bathroom and cut a little slit. The little slit made to much fall out.
I put my finger in it and debated on if I should taste it or not. "Fuck it" I said tasting a little bit. It wasn't so bad it was so pure, kind of fresh. I put a little on the table and grabbed the loosest bill. I rolled it up and sniffed a line. "Shit" I said scratching my nose. It was so exciting I did another line. I started to be paranoid. I left my purse and it had my cell phone in it and my wallet along with my other information. I don't know if it was the drugs that got me paranoid or was I really scared. I fell back on the bed. Than I heard a knock at the door. I jumped up. "Who is it" I yelled grabbing the money and putting everything back in the bag. I slid the bag up under the bed and ran my hand across my nose. "Who the fuck is it" I said checking the peep hole. "I just wanted to see if your was okay I brought you some food" the voice said. I looked out the blinds. It was that black dude who works in the lobby "I'm not hungry I'm fine" I said hoping he would leave. "I'll just leave the food by the door" he said walking away. I opened the door "come in" I said stepping to the side. He came in and gave me my food "Thank you" I said closing and locking the door. He gave me a bag that had a pair of sandals in it "thank you" and he turned to leave. "Wait why you being so sweet to me" I said smiling. "I'm just a nice guy I guess I don't tend to get in people business but your feet was scratched up so I thought you had a ruff night and would need some food and shoes that's all" he said. "Are you sure that's all you came here for" I said walking up to him rubbing on his body. "No disrespect but I'm happily taken three years strong" he said grabbing my hands from touching him. "She don't have to know it can be our little secret" I said taking my shirt off revealing my nude body. He looked so tempted and plus I ain't never been with a older man I bet this would be fun. He picked my shirt up and gave it to me "your food getting cold" he said. "The fuck am I not attractive enough for you or something I mean damn" I said letting the drugs talk. "You are very attractive but I'm not that type of guy" he said. I put my shirt on and grabbed my bag of food. I pulled out the hamburger and took a bite "you gone watch me eat or you gone eat with me" I said. He sat down on the bed with me and we talked all night.

We laid beside each other not cuddled just side by side. His name was Devin and he was a great listener. He was the first guy that wanted to talk instead of fucking me. He was very sweet. "Are you in trouble" he asked. "Shouldn't you be getting home to your girlfriend" I asked him leaning up on my elbow. "I don't have one I just didn't want to have sex with a woman I didn't know without seeming like a lame" he said laughing. I laughed "how old are you" I asked him. "Twenty-six" he said "you what 18 or 19" he asked. "That's it I thought you were older and I'm old enough" I said. "Hard work makes you look older than you really are" he said. "I want to know more about you ms Nikki" he added. "What do you want to know" I said. "Everything I want to know about you and what you like to do and what you see yourself doing in a few years you know stuff like that" he said. I never really discussed my life with people not even Rari, but for some reason I trusted him. "Well I never knew my dad. My mother is a drug addict. My sister stole my man. My brother hates me. I dropped out of high school anything else" I said. "I'll pray for you" he said. "Your life seems horrible" he added. I shrugged my shoulders "I make the best of it nobody's perfect" I said.
Soon the sun began to rise and James had to get back to work. "I would love to do this again" he said putting his shoes on. "We ain't do shit but talk" I said. "Exactly" Devin said showing me a smile. He was a cute guy. His personality was amazing. "I'm leaving later on today maybe one day I'll come back and see you" I said. "I'll be waiting for you when you come back see you later Nikki" he said about to leave. "Wait I got something for you" I said reaching under the bed and grabbing some money out of the bag. "Here" I said handing him some money. His eyes got big. "Just take it Devin pay for school okay" I said. "Where did you get all this money" he asked.
"Like I said nobody's perfect" I said shutting the door in his face.
