《UNDER HIS PROTECTION》- Chapter 44 -

(5 days later)

"Just because you're finally discharged, doesn't mean you can do whatever you want," Saif reminded Tahir, "You need rest for another week."

Dr. Maryam had informed Tahir that he was able to be discharged. Currently, it was just him and Saif packing some of the things in his room before they left the hospital.

"I rested for a whole week already," Tahir said as he zipped up his travel bag.

Saif rolled his eyes. When will he ever learn? It was typical of Tahir to act tough, not that he wasn't, but he would always push himself. If it were up to him, he'd take as much rest as he could get. Especially after being hit by a bullet. It was never fun.

Once they both checked the room again for anything they'd missed, Saif picked up some bags and opened the door to leave. Tahir followed behind him and they both walked into the elevator to leave through the garage floor.

Mr. Amin had offered to drive him home but Tahir refused. Even Saif offered but all Tahir wanted was to drive on his own since he'd be going to see Anisa. He hadn't seen her since the day of the nikah since she was busy with her princess duties. At least, that's what he was informed. But, little did he know she had a surprise for him.

"You sure you can drive?" Saif made sure before giving him the keys.

"Yeah," he simply said, grabbing the keys Saif tossed to him.

"Well, all I can say from here is don't drive crazy," Saif chuckled.

Tahir frowned at him and got into the driver seat. He honked the car lightly, twice as his farewell to Saif before storming out of the garage and making his way to Anisa.

Speaking of Anisa, she had already decorated the place and all that was left to do was prepare herself.

While Tahir was in the hospital, she purchased a new home, one where no one would be able to find them, one that was away from the rest of the population but it wasn't far from the palace. After filling the place with furniture, she decorated it with balloons and flowers and since she didn't have the guts to decorate their bedroom, Reem did it for her and told her not to see it until Tahir arrived so the bedroom was a surprise for Anisa as well.

Today, Anisa was going to introduce herself a little different than Tahir would normally see her. She was going to let her hair out. Once she wore her dress, she let her hair in a low bun which she thought complimented the dress.

Every second felt like hours for her as she waited for him to arrive. What would he think once he sees her? Did she over-prepare? Should she have waited a little longer? All of these thoughts circled her mind up until the very moment she heard the doorbell.

She gasped and walked quickly to open it but not before looking at the camera. It was him.

She allowed entrance by opening the gates for him. Then, she unlocked the front door and opened it, standing behind it so he wouldn't see her yet. She was practically hiding because she didn't feel so confident in seeing him anymore.

Her thoughts got the best of her.

She heard his footsteps approaching and they got louder by each step.

Tahir was puzzled to see the door open but he went inside to a fully decorated entrance hall. There were flowers in the theme of pastel colors everywhere. There was even a welcome made of balloons.

While he was distracted, Anisa took this time to slowly close the door without making a sound. Then, she tiptoed to stand a few feet behind him and lightly tapped him on the shoulder.

Tahir turned around, greeting her with his surprised expression and blue orbs that were full of excitement he couldn't contain it anymore. She had opened up to him. Every part of her seemed more beautiful than ever.

"Salam," she said nervously.

The next thing Tahir did took Anisa by surprise. He wrapped his arm around her waist and forcefully brought her closer to him, hitting his chest. Her arms instinctively held onto his shoulders and he crashed his lips onto hers.

Anisa's eyes widened but somehow the butterflies in her stomach returned and lifted her up for a better angel to kiss him back with all the passion she contained.

Once they pulled apart after physically expressing each other, Tahir cupped her right cheek while keeping one hand around her tiny waist.

"You're my life, you know that?" He said in a low voice.

Anisa nodded, "And you're my everything."

She was back on her tip toes as she placed her head on his shoulder and went in for a hug. In that moment, he picked her up and walked straight without knowing where to go. But once he saw the couches in the living room, he gently placed her down and sat beside her, never wanting to let go of her.

"What is this place?" He finally asked

"It's our new home. One where we won't be bothered by anything but ourselves," Anisa smiled proudly.

Tahir looked around with his eyes and smiled as well.

"I could've done this for you," He started

Anisa shook her head, "You've done more than enough for me by waking up. It was time I showed my gratitude."

He placed a strand of her hair behind her ear before he asked, "Where's the bedroom?"

Anisa pointed upstairs and Tahir grabbed her hand as they proceeded to the stairs. He let her guide him through the entire place and they finally came to a stop at the end of the hallway.

"I haven't seen it myself," Anisa admitted before opening the door.

Once she did, the whole place was decorated in rose petals with candles surrounding every corner. There was a shape of a heart formed just on top of the bed and Anisa wasn't able to look anymore because her cheeks flushed a bright crimson red.

"So, this is our room?" He smirked at Anisa

She couldn't look at him so all she did was nod. Then, he slowly got a hold of her hand and made her look up at him.

"We still have one last thing to do to make this official hayati," he whispered, teasing her.

This time, she blushed even more which was something she never knew was possible and hid her face.

"But, I'm not gonna force you to do anything you don't want to," He told her.

Tahir knew that she felt uncomfortable. But, he didn't want her to. He was able to wait for her, whenever she felt ready to give herself up to him. Back when he got a taste of her lips for the first time, he almost couldn't stop himself, but he did for her. He now needed to protect Anisa from himself because at the end of the day he is a man and one that was madly in love with her.

"Tahir," Anisa said

"Hm?"

"I'm ready for anything if it's with you..."

The next day welcomed itself with the bright sun forcing its rays through the window of Anisa and Tahir's bedroom window.

Tahir squinted his eyes from the brightness and slowly opened them to see he was alone in bed. That was certainly not how he went to bed last night. So, where was Anisa?

He got up and put on a white t-shirt with black shorts before washing his face in the bathroom. Memories of last night flooded his mind everywhere he looked in the bedroom. He couldn't help but smile and chuckle to himself.

He slowly went downstairs and smelled something delicious so he followed that scent into the kitchen. There, he saw the back of Anisa as she had a messy bun on her head, wearing a dress up to her knees, revealing her legs.

He could get used to this sight any day.

"Morning, love,"

He startled Anisa as she jumped up and growled while turning to look at him.

"You're not supposed to scare me like that!"

He couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. But, he also felt bad for scaring her so he went around the island and hugged her from behind, smelling the crook of her neck.

"You smell like roses," he complimented.

Anisa blushed and was still not used to being complimented so much by him. After spending their first night together, she felt closer to him than ever and felt herself regain her confidence. She had wished every day was like this. One in which she wasn't doing paperwork , one in which people weren't bothering her, one in which she could just be with Tahir and be unbothered by the world.

Sadly, that was to end in the evening where she needed to be present at a press conference.

"Tahir, can you grab me that plate over there," she pointed to one of the shelves across from where they stood.

"What did you just call me?" He asked

Anisa froze. Did she say something wrong?

"Nothing, I called you by your name?"

Tahir shook his head in disappointment, "So that's all I mean to you?"

He grabbed the plate and gave it to Anisa and kept his eyes fixated on her.

"Of course not, I guess I'm so used to calling you by your name. It'll take me a while to call you something else," she explained

"Ok, I'll let you go on that," he said, "But, I can only be so lenient."

Anisa shook her head in annoyance and finished setting up the plate as they walked to the table together.
