《UNDER HIS PROTECTION》- Chapter 4 -

"Yes, I will personally visit myself if you don't mind."
Anisa was on the phone with a doctor, arranging a schedule to go help out the children. Toni sat on the chair, listening in on the conversation. It was part of the job.
"Let's schedule it in a week if that's alright with you."
"Alright, sounds good, thank you!"
With that, she hung up and kept the phone in her hands as she got up from her chair to leave her office.
Tahir instinctively followed, making sure to keep a safe distance between her and himself. The only time he really needed to be close as if she was outside the palace walls.
As they walked through the countless hallways, Anisa spotted Leyla and rolled her eyes. But Leyla's eyes shot up after seeing who was behind her.
"Who have we got here?" Leyla smirked, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Get out of my way," Anisa calmly said.
Leyla scoffed, "I'm sorry but I happen to be a princess, not a worker, you can go command someone else."
Leyla inched closer to Anisa to get a better view of Toni who still stood with a poker face.
"Tell me, who is he?" Leyla asked a second time.
Anisa didn't want to reply because she knew too well why Leyla was asking. Tahir wasn't just any bodyguard. He was someone that had the ability to attract attention, specifically from the opposite gender.
So, Tahir turned his head to face Leyla with a stern look, as he said, "I'm her personal bodyguard."
Leyla's brow went up in amusement.
"I'm pretty sure Anisa is a hard person to work for. If you want, I can have you transferred over to me."
Anisa scoffed at her proposal towards Tahir. It wasn't as if she hired him personally. It was all her father's doing so she never wanted him to begin with.
"I didn't come here to do an easy job," Tahir responded which made Leyla's smirk slowly fade.
On the other hand, Anisa tried her best not to laugh and even had to turn her head to the side to conceal her expression. Leyla took notice and said, "you think this is funny? I'll make sure you regret it."
Anisa nodded knowing too well that Leyla was powerless. Despite her stance as a royal, there was never a job where she tainted her own hands. Even simple tasks like preparing her own bath weren't in her resume.
As Leyla stormed off, disappearing into the hallway, Anisa turned to face Tahir. He wasn't paying attention to Leyla like Anisa had, rather his gaze was directed towards her this whole time.
"I'm going to change and then I have lunch with the prime minister today since my father canceled on him."
Tahir nodded and stood outside her door while she went in.
As he waited, his thoughts kept him occupied. He quietly went through the details of the plan that brought him here and how he was going to leave this palace.
Anisa wasn't a factor that would prevent that from happening. But, she was a factor that would assist him in getting the information he needed, as well as the evidence.
While Tahir watched every single palace worker pass by, as well as animals that inhabited this place, he heard the door finally open, to reveal Anisa in a formal dress.

He couldn't help but look at her for a few seconds before he cleared his throat and said, "Let's go."
Anisa was confused but she didn't put much thought into his reaction. This time, rather than walking behind her, it was Tahir that was leading her outside, from the back gates where there was a driveway filled with cars.
Tahir decided on the nearest key and walked towards the car that happened to be the urus and held the back door for Anisa to get in.
Soon, he made it to the driver's seat and after starting the engine, he asked, "what's the address?"
Anisa handed her phone that contained the address already and he started pulling the car out of the driveway.
As Tahir drove, he kept stealing glances at Anisa through the rearview mirror. She was peacefully observing the scenery outside the window the whole time.
Once they came to a stop, he parked the car and rushed to open the door for her. Both were welcomed to a tall skyscraper and it was the royal family hotel.
Tahir followed Anisa into the building and pressed on the elevator.
"Which floor?" He asked turning towards her.
"The tenth."
He pressed the button to the tenth floor. Luckily, it was just the two that were on the elevator so it didn't take long to arrive. As soon as the doors opened, they were greeted to a waterfall that fell just over a glass with the sign of the restaurant labeled "Les Louis XV."
Tahir grew skeptical about the place as he was welcomed by gold tiles where bouquets of flowers filled the place. It was too fancy for a simple lunch with the prime minister. But it wasn't his business either way.
"Salam, Anisa!"
"Salam Rashid," Anisa smiled and Rashid pulled out her chair for her to take a seat.
Before sitting on his own, he glanced at Tahir and gave a quick smile as a gesture. But, Tahir only gave his poker face in return.
"I see you've already got a new bodyguard," Rashid began their conversation.
"It sort of happened that way," Anisa responded
"So, what was your father's reason for leaving me this time?" Rashid asked.
"To be honest, I don't know. I was just told by Hakim to come in his place. I don't really question what he does anymore. I think you've even gotten used to this yourself," she took a sip of water and Rashid nodded.
"Yes, and it's always nice to see the princess."
Tahir rolled his eyes discreetly and grew bored of this lunch. Suddenly, he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and looked at Anisa to excuse himself. She simply nodded and he walked outside to the entrance of the restaurant.
"Yes, Mr. Latif," he answered, picking up the call.
"You must come to the headquarters this evening for a briefing. Also, I wanted to check up on how your mission was going."
Tahir looked around before responding, "So far, my only plan is to get close to the princess. From there on, I shouldn't have a problem acquiring the needed documents for evidence."
"Good, I'm counting on you. Your my best spy I've got. Just meet me here after the sun sets."
"Yes, sir."
Tahir hung up and calmly returned back to the table Anisa sat with the prime minister, Rashid.

"You know, your mother contacted me the other day," Rashid said, "and she asked if I knew anyone that could suit your sister."
Anisa frowned at what she heard. Why was that woman trying to have connections with the prime minister?
"What'd you say?" She asked
"Well, of course, I wasn't sure what to say. Usually, I'm only to answer to the king but since it regarded something related to her, I told her I'd be delighted to find someone," he replied.
Anisa nodded and as they talked about some of the concerns and work-related topics related to each of the cities in Saudi, she kept stealing glances at Tahir. She noticed that his expression didn't really change, although he did seem uncomfortable being here.
"Well, I hope that by doing so, we can call it a resolution and see how the people react to change," Rashid said.
"Yes, I hope so," Anisa smiled and stood up from her chair, "it was nice having this conversation with you, I hope next time, you get to have my father standing before you."
"Oh no, please, you're just as a company and someone who understands this side of the business as he does," Rashid told her.
He was walking with her but Anisa knew what he was doing and told him, "I don't need an escort Rashid, I've got someone to do that for me already."
Rashid nodded, understanding her request and watched Anisa leave the restaurant.
"Next time you have lunch with this man, remind me to stay in the car where I don't have to listen to him flirt with you," Tahir said while they were entering the elevator.
Anisa scoffed and replied, "Excuse me but I think you need to know that he's a married man."
"Married or not, they're all the same. Looking for trouble as always."
"I'm sure you know you're speaking for yourself as well," she reminded him.
"I'm not looking for any kind of trouble. I'm looking to resolve it," he told her.
She gave him a quick glare and turned her head to watch the blinking lights switch from the previous floor to the next.
Tahir looked at the time to realize that it was past midnight. As Anisa's bodyguard, he was given a whole separate house to himself. One where he had his own kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and every appliance all in one, located just outside the humongous backyard, kind of like a lake house.
It seemed like they didn't do any changes to it from when Mr. Amin would stay here. And he couldn't help but want to keep it that way. It wasn't his, after all.
He quietly got ready and put on a black shirt that hugged his upper body. It revealed his muscularity and kept him warm as the nights were always cold, no matter the season.
He passed every security guard that held patrol on the outskirts of the palace. He was now the head of security so where he went what he did, didn't need to be reported, and neither would they be allowed to report on him and his whereabouts.
He chose to go with a dark matte car this time and drove without looking at the speed limit of the roads as he normally does. Except, he wasn't allowed to do that when driving a royal.
Eventually, he came to a stop in what looked like a dead-end but he pulled on a certain tile on the wall where a keypad was presented and he entered a ten-digit code.
The wall separated and he drove straight ahead. Thankfully it was in the middle of nowhere. Neither was he being followed so this location was kept a good secret.
He parked the car in the underground basement and was welcomed to the agency's logo, "JSS"
The glass doors separated, scanning his identity, and notifying his presence. Then, Mr. Latif appeared in his usual uniform with a white button-up top that always had the sleeves rolled up just an inch below his elbow with his hair, strengthened to perfection with gel.
He was an easy-going guy and was only intimidating when needed and he also happened to be the director of the agency.
"You made it," he grinned, smacking Tahir's shoulder and walking down the hallway with him.
"Yes sir," Tahir replied.
"Come, we have a whole day's worth of information to hear from you."
Both men walked into the meeting room with transparent glass walls. The entire building was made up of them. When they arrived, Tahir greeted another spy of whom he was good friends with since starting this agency at a young age, Saif.
"Look who's back in town. Took you long enough." Saif said
They exchanged a simple handshake before sitting down and waiting for Mr. Latif for further instructions.
Once he made himself comfortable, he turned to look towards Tahir and asked, "So, give us a briefing of your first day. How was it? What did you notice?"
Tahir shrugged and told him, "Not much. It was just my first day and I spent it with the princess. She argued with the king because she didn't want another bodyguard."
"How come? Even after seeing you, she said no?" Saif asked in disbelief and Tahir rolled his eyes and continued.
"She said those who get close to her end up dying and she wasn't able to go through that. Then, I went out with her while she had lunch with the prime minister. They just spoke of business and caught up with the family and the rest of the day, she stayed in her office, doing more work."
Mr. Latif nodded, "Sounds nothing like hectic as I thought it'd be. But did you notice anything suspicious?"
"Besides the fact that animals roam the palace freely, no. But, I started a journal with all the information. I'll be sure to document everything I experience."
"Good. Soon, Saif will join you. We received word that the King requested a bodyguard for his other daughter through our online database. It didn't make sense to me as I thought they'd have one for her already," Mr. Latif said in confusion
"Oh, as for that daughter, I would trust Saif with her. The family creates a facade for the public that the two princesses are close despite having different mothers, but in reality, there's a war between them."
