《When We Crashed》Mirror Mirror On The Wall

Ella's pov:
It was a long car ride to the Barrington household.
Not in distance, but an internal, wanting to cry but jump out the window at the same time, kind of thing.
And the fact that I was the main reason why I was feeling this way made me feel even worse.
Also through the course of the car ride, I kept glancing at my mom.
I want to tell her to not be mad at Luke, but it feels like lately every time I try to fix things, it just makes matters worse.
Again, I know she didn't say that she technically doesn't like Luke...
Just that she was unsure about him.
From the past it normally means she doesn't like someone, but I can still be hopeful... right?
Maybe she was just unsure...
And maybe pigs do really fly.
Suddenly, I feel a tap on my shoulder and I look over at Ally who was looking at me.
"What?" I whisper to her.
She points at my foot, and I look down to see without knowing, I was nervously tapping the back of my heel on my left foot.
"Don't be so nervous, I'm sure things will turn out fine." She whispers to me.
"Are you saying it will turn out fine before or after I tell Luke that my mom doesn't like him because of me?" I whisper back trying my best not to let out a frustrated sigh.
It was too risky with my mom sitting so close.
She has always been a persistent woman, meaning that when she sees or thinks something is wrong, she won't stop until she knows exactly what.
"It would be wrong of him to hold you against it. You made a mistake, it's not like you intentionally wanted it to happen." She urges, which makes me understand where she is coming from.
I mean, it makes sense. Luke wouldn't do that, he is understanding.
Maybe I am over stressing.
"We have arrived." The driver says, looking at the mirror directed at my dad, who nods his head and looks at my mom.
"Would you like to keep a couple of body guards in close perimeter?" He questions my mom, to which she nods her head.
"Yes, as much as I trust the Barrington family, I want to keep things disclosed from the public eye." She says.
I never understood why they always want to keep body guards around.
I know there is always reporters who like to keep up to date on my dad's business, and even take it so far as to follow our family around...
But I have always hated it.
It's freaky!
I hate knowing that my every move is being watched by somebody.
That being the body guard.
I understand that they are just doing their job and all... but still.
It's just one of the many things that come with the business.
Stepping out of the car, I couldn't help but take in the Barrington house...
No, more like mansion!
I mean, it was the size of ours, but I never overlook the beauty of a house.
I guess you could blame my obsession with house hunters.
But this made me wonder a lot about Luke's family.
I know I rarely talk about my family when I am with Luke. I always try not to bring it up, but I really know nothing about the Barrington's.
Of course I know somethings from that one dinner weeks ago, but not a lot.
Just that his parents are similar to my parents, at least money wise, and Luke's brothers are stuck up, annoying brats who only care about money and can't take a hint when someone isn't falling for their terrible excuse of a pick up line.

I mean, with all the money that they said they had, they might as well buy a magic mirror.
Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the biggest f*ck boy of them all.
...
I can so see that happening.
As soon as we got to the door, it was opened by a familiar set of faces.
Mirror mirror on the wall...
I mean...
The Barrington family.
And as much as I wanted to think of it as a good thing...
It really wasn't.
It makes me so thankful that I have Ally as a sister. I probably would have gone insane if I didn't have her.
"Welcome!" Mrs. Barrington is the first to greet us.
"Thank you for having us on such a short notice." My mom greets her, and pulls her into a short hug.
After her, I am pulled into a hug also, which was less shocking because it wasn't the first time.
"Oh I am so happy you are safe and sound Ella." She says.
"Thanks." I mutter, looking past her, I see Luke making his way towards us.
When we make eye contact, a heart warming smile takes its place on his lips.
It was a whole new set of feelings than times I have greeted him before.
He was my boyfriend.
Every time I think of him like that, although it's still weird to me, it causes butterflies in my stomach.
When Mrs. Barrington lets go, I instantly head towards Luke, who wraps me in an embrace of his own.
"I missed you." He whispers into my hair, as he squeezes me closer towards him.
As always, he smelled good, which told me that I was definitely going to be one of those girls who steal their boyfriends sweatshirts.
But speaking of boyfriend, I quickly pull away from him and look at my mom to see that she was too busy talking to Mrs. Barrington to notice us.
"Is something wrong?" Luke asks, frowning at the fact that I pulled away so soon, as he takes one of my hands in his.
"I... have to tell you something." I whisper to him.
He nods his head slightly, and pulls me with him away from where everyone was and to a random room in his house.
As much as I wanted to admire the room, which had a huge piano and pictures all throughout the walls of the room, I was too distracted by my thoughts and what I would be trying to say.
"Are you okay?" Luke asks, worriedly looking into my eyes as he slightly pushes me down onto the couch, sitting next to me while doing so.
"I sort of... messed up." I say looking down.
I feel Luke move closer to me, "Is it about your mom? I think I know where this is going. If you didn't tell her yet, I understand. I didn't exactly talk to my parents yet either, well, it's not like they care anyways." He says, placing a hand under my chin and making me look up at him.
"It's not only that..." I draw out, he signals for me to continue and I take a deep breath.
"I sorta.. kinda... uhm... yeah."
You know, English is a great thing.
But don't listen to me, I clearly CAN'T SPEAK IT.
"Woah you kinda... uhm... yeah, jeez Ella, I don't know what to say. I don't think I could ever forgive you for that. I mean, uhm yeah? Really? You know how much that hurts me." Luke smirks, but I push him away which causes him to fall back on the couch in a fit of laughter.

"Stop!!" I whine like a child, as he sits up and grabs both of my hands.
"What ever you have to say, I won't be mad at you marshmallow."
"Marshmallow again, I thought you got over that?"
"Nope," He leans forward and kisses my cheek, "it's cute like you."
"Okay, okay, wait." I back up away from him, while trying to hide my blush at the same time.
"Okay, okay I'm listening." He mocks me.
"You know, I am trying to be serious."
"Yeah, but I wanted to see your smile." He says.
I wanted to kiss him and slap him with an over expensive fan that I would pull out in the coolest way possible at the same time.
It was amazing.
"I didn't want to lie to my mom because I wanted things to change but I ended up telling her about everything when I was gone and how you helped me but now she is unsure about you which means she might not like you and I'M SORRY." I quickly cover my face with my hands in attempt to not see his reaction.
There was a long pause, and I honestly didn't know what to think.
I was too scared to even take a little peek to see what he might have been thinking.
"Ella" He says slowly from beside me.
Usually I could tell what someone was thinking by the way they would talk, but I didn't have a single clue on what he could have been thinking.
"Ella, look at me."
Too scared to find out, I shake my head while keeping my hands on my face.
"Ella, please look at me."
"Mhhhm." My voice comes out muffled from my hands.
I feel another pair of hands cover my own as he slowly pulls my hands away from my eyes.
"Hi beautiful" He says, as I open my eyes to see his face only a few inches in front of mine.
He had the exact opposite facial expression of what I expected him to have, instead of a frown, he had a light smile on his face.
"You're not mad?" My voice came out unsure.
"Why would I be mad? I know you didn't mean it." He says.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Like, really really sure?"
"Yes...."
"You mean you are not upset at all-..." but before I could finish, his lips connect to mine.
Taken back at first, I start to kiss back as he wraps both of his arms around my waist.
"You talk to much." He says as he pulls away.
"I don't understand though, I made my mom not like you."
"And I know that you would have never done that I purpose. I would never be upset at you for that." He says, tucking a loose strand of hair from the side of my face behind my ear.
Like that, it felt like all the weight was lifted from my chest.
Again, Ally was right.
Not only is Luke my boyfriend, but he was my bestfriend way longer.
I shouldn't assume the worse all the time. One day, I am really going to over stress myself.
"But you know what this means right?" I raise my eyebrow at him, but he shakes his head.
"As much as I want everyone to know what an amazing boyfriend I have," Luke smiles at me, "I think we should keep this between us until this grudge thing with my mom passes. I just want to tell her when the time is right."
"Only between us?"
"Well, us and Ally. But I trust that she will keep this a secret. She OTP's us too much." I grin.
Yes she said OTP.
Yes I am scared.
Yes I have many regrets in life.
Yes I don't want to talk about it.
"You think that is bad, wait until Zander and Julie find out, we might not make it out alive."
"Do you think they already came up with our ship names?"
He shakes his head, "By now, they our planning the names of our great great grandchildren.... it's not healthy." A look of pure fear crosses his eyes.
I laugh the same time a pair of footsteps makes its way to where we were, and I look over to see Ally walking in.
"Sorry to rain on your parade love birds, but dinner is ready." She says smiling.
"You seem to be in a good mood... wait," a feeling of hope takes over as I look over at Luke, "Did your brothers leave?!"
He shakes his head, "I wish."
I look over at Ally, "Why are you smiling like that?"
"Because I got it!"
"Got what?" Luke and I end up asking at the same time.
"Lukella" Ally says, pointing at us.
"It sounds like Nutella-.."
"I like it! Lukella, it rolls off the tongue perfectly!" Luke says grinning as he wraps an arm around me.
"I know right?!" She squeals.
Luke is about to say something else but I quickly nudge his side, "Shhh, we can't encourage it, it isn't safe!"
"Hey!" Ally calls out, as I laugh and stand up and grab her wrist, "Come on I am-..."
"Hungry?" Ally and Luke say at the same time.
"No I was going to say.... yeah let's go." I turn on my heel and head towards the hallway, with the two following behind me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As we near the dinning room, I turn around and stop Luke as Ally continues to walk to the dinning room where everyone was.
"You know that since we have to hide that we are dating, you have to keep yourself from... being yourself." I say slowly.
Luke holds his hands up in defense, "What does that mean?!"
"No kissing, no side hugging, no flirting or hand holding-..."
"Are you actually trying to kill me?" Luke says, shaking his head and tries to grab a hold of my hand.
"Trust me, I hate it too, but I just don't want her to make us break up."
"No one for f*ck's sake is breaking us up. Even if I have too-..." I cover his mouth with my hand.
"And you have to keep control of your.... slightly, very visible, funny in a way, anger issues."
Luke removes my hand from his mouth, "Me? Anger issues? What do you mean?"
"As in you know, how your brothers are. You can't go into that weird over protective mode like when we hangout in public."
"I have no idea what you are talking about."
"In Costco, when that worker walked up to me asking if I needed help on finding anything.
"That was barely anything."
"You threw a stuffed rabbit at his face."
"It was an accident!"
"Then you told him to be useful and put his carrots at use somewhere else."
"I was doing him a favor! Plus that was when we were just friends."
"Exactly, which means that your over protective mode is now heightened."
Luke groans, "Fine, I will try not to get upset."
I smile and hold out out my pinkie, "pinkie promise?"
He rolls his eyes by my childish behavior, but before pulling out his pinkie, he sweeps down and kisses me on the lips before he knew that he would have to refrain from doing so, "pinkie promise"
