《When We Crashed》How To Prevent A Murder

Ella's pov:
"If you think I'm getting up Luke Barrington, I will have you know.." I say sitting criss cross on the grass.
"Ella I said I was-.... sorry." Luke says back, he let out a small laugh but quickly tried to cover it up with a cough.
"Good, now say that without laughing." I glare.
You are probably wondering what we are arguing about.
"I'm sorry that I'm good at soccer... and football... and tennis.. and basketball."
Yes, we have been out here for over two hours playing different sports and guess how much I won out of all of those games?
None.
Absolutely nothing.
It is so unfair.
And I wasn't even close.
He is probably some how cheating.
"One day, I'm going to get you back for that." I say, while he just laughs and nods his head.
"I'm sure you will." He says sarcastically, but I just ignore it because I don't feel like hiding a dead body today.
Luke squats right in front of me, "Can you please get up now?" He asks.
"Fine... but you have to pull me up though."
He stands up and grabs my hands and pulls me off of the ground.
"See, was that so hard?" He smirks while I just roll my eyes.
"Very, it involved too much muscle effort." I try not to smile.
We stand there for a moment looking at each other, his hands still connected to mine.
Do I say something?
Disney channel really needs to stop with these special moments because it is making my life really confusing.
But I wasn't the one to decide because suddenly, a door opens and I look over to see my mom starting to walk towards us.
Well, that is after she gasps in horror.
"Ella! Look at your dress!" She says, I quickly let go of Luke's hands.
She grabs my arm looking at all of the grass stains and dirt.
I quickly unlatch myself from her and take a step away.
"Mom it's fine" I say but she only shakes her head.
"Go shower and get dressed quickly, we have dinner in ten minutes." She says then looks at Luke.
"Come on, let us meet back with your parents." She smiles at him.
Okay.. rude.

I try my best not to glare at her as I head up to my room.
When I get there, I once again look at my pile of t-shirts.
One day, I am going to straight up burn all these dresses.
Woah, that came out really dark, but you get the point.
I go to my closet and pick up my back up summer dresses, which really wasn't back up in the first place, I just refuse to wear anything else.
I take the dress and bring it in with me to the bathroom.
Well, I guess this will have to be the quickest shower I will ever take.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Oh Ella..." Ally sings as she knocks on my bedroom door.
"Coming." I mutter from brushing my hair and open the door.
"Dinner is ready." She says now in a monotone which makes me raise my eyebrow at her.
"Okay what happened." I laugh at her face.
Okay, I wasn't really laughing at her face, technically.
It was just, you see, as a twin, I could tell when she is annoyed.
And by her facial expressions, she is about to straight up murder someone.
"Nothing." She says and tries to look away.
"Ally..."
"Really nothing is bothering me."
...
"Those stupid boys and their stupid little aghh!!" She says out of nowhere and storms into my room, laying across my bed.
Called it.
"What did they do?" I let out a small laugh as I sit by her on my bed.
"What they did is they decided to live." She says sitting up and looking at me.
"Oh..."
"And they all were like, 'My business this' and 'I own this' or 'I have so much money'!!!" She says and glares at my carpet.
First off, what did my carpet ever do to you?
"So they are just like the man version of mom?" I say and she looks at me wide eyed.
"Except these BOYS are demons I tell you!!"
"And you are saying this about all of them?" I ask.
"Yes!! Well... except the one that you were with, he doesn't talk much, he might be shy."
And that... is when I almost chocked on my own salvia.
"Luke? Shy??!" I almost shout at her and laugh.
She looks at me in confusion, "What are you talking about? He doesn't talk."
"What you mean to say is he doesn't stop."
What I'm serious?
Remember, I spent days with him in the hospital, and just outside in the backyard.
If him rubbing it in my face that he won is shy, then I don't want to know what loud is for him.
But out of nowhere, my sisters small glare goes away, and I watch as she looks at me with a wicked grin.
"Someone has a crush."
This time, I didn't just chock on my saliva, I suffocated from it.
"What? No..." I let out a small laugh as I try to dismiss the thought.
"Is that what your blush says to you when he's around?"
"Don't we have dinner?" I partially ask which makes her roll her eyes.
"This discussion isn't over Ella." She follows me down the stairs and to our dining room.
Ally is completely crazy.
I barely know him.
Sure, I spent all those days with him, but he was ignoring me for the last part remember?
Sure, he's attractive, but that doesn't mean I have romantic feelings for him...
Right?
Plus he's the first actual guy I like ever actually talked to.
How in the world would I know if I liked him?
"Glad you could finally join us." I look up to see my mom staring at me and Ally as we awkwardly walk in.
Yes, and I say awkwardly because all of the five boys, their parents, and our parents are looking at us like we committed a crime.
Which was about to happen if Ally didn't get away from Luke's older brothers.
I should be thanked for being late.
I prevented a death.
Good for me.
"Why don't you girls take a seat." My dad says and we both nod.
I look at the table and give a small smile when I see that there is an empty seat next to Luke.
I quickly walk over and sit down next to him.
"Thank god, I thought I was going to be sitting next to your mother, no offense, but she scares me." Luke whispers in my ear and I try my best not to laugh at loud.
"It's okay, I'm scared too." I whisper back, and it was his turn to try and not to laugh.
I look over to see that he had a tie on, which was not on before.
"Nice tie."
"Nice dress, you must have known you were getting down and dirty to have a backup." He smirks.
It takes me a second to register his dirty joke..
Hah, get it?
Oh gosh, his presence is affecting my mind.
I look away from him and hide a blush as our food is being served.
"Now that we are all here, I would like to know more about your two girls." Mrs. Barrington says as she looks at my mom.
My mom looks at me and Ally then smiles.
You know, like she is a proud parent.
Which is not true by the way.
As you could already tell.
"Well, Ally took an interest in shopping and loves makeup. She recently made it on the cover of a hair magazine, I think I still have it laying around somewhere." She says as she shows her off like a prized possession.
She will probably look at me and be like, 'And I also raised a potato,' which I will totally accept by the way.
"Oh that is unbelievable! She must take after you." Mrs. Barrington swoons at my mom.
I'm suddenly.. not hungry.
They start to talk about the cover and I feel Luke nudge me.
"Yes?" I whisper to him as he just looks at me for a long time.
"I hear meditation helps with murderous thoughts." He says and I stare at him blankly.
"What-...." I start to question but he continues.
"Looks like you might need it."
"Wait.." I start to say in horror as he stares at me seriously.
But then, his lips turn upwards, "Sorry, there actually is no meditation for that."
This makes me smile as I even try not to laugh, "I was starting to move my seat back away from you."
But this makes him grin, "It was worth it, made you smile."
And at this, I blush.
Curse my blush.
"And what about Ella?" I hear my name being called and I look over at Mrs. Barrington, then at my mom.
I guess it's time to find out what she really thinks.
The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
