《When We Crashed》Serial Killers And Ghosts

Ella's pov:
"I don't think it works like that." Luke mutters as I give him a side glare.
"What do you mean? I think it looks perfectly fine." I try to argue as I look up at my tower of blocks.
"Yeah, until you move one little block, then the whole thing will come crashing down." He says pointing at my horribly supported castle of wooden blocks.
After I finished giving Luke a tour of the house, there wasn't much to do.
So, we decided...
Okay so I decided...
To build a castle out of a big box of blocks that I kept in my closet.
Don't ask why I keep a box of blocks in my closet.
I just do.
Because I'm cool like that.
"Yeah, IF someone moves it, so that means it works." I grin as he rolls his eyes.
And that leads us to present time, Luke was judging my building skills, which are very good by the way.
He gives me one of those judge-mental looks and I huff in annoyance.
"Fine, you try." I say and move back from my beautiful question of no talent what so ever.
I watch in horror as he moves a couple pieces around and somehow makes it better then it already was.
Am I going to admit to it though?
Nope.
"I liked mine way better." I mutter as he laughs at my defeat.
"Okay, would you like to do something else?" He questions standing up, he grabs my hand and pulls me up and I can't help but blush.
What?
I already admitted he was good looking.
Cut me some slack.
Plus we are friends.
Well, now thinking about it, he is my only friend.
Woah, if I really think about it, I have never realized how lonely I actually am.

All these years, all I had was my sister, which she is great, but that doesn't mean I wished to have others for a chance.
And now I do?
Which is strange.
A good kind of strange though.
Well, only a good kind of strange when they are NOT testing your building skills!!
"Earth to Ella." Luke says waving a hand in front of my face.
I look up to see he is already staring down at me.
I give him a questionable look as he just shakes his head, "I asked if you wanted to go outside, but you were spacing out." He says.
"Oh, uh sure." I say and quietly follow him as he leads us to the back yard.
But suddenly, he stops, "woah" He mutters under his breath.
"Woah what?"
"Now that I really see it from that horrible tour, no offense, your back yard is huge!" He says in astonishment.
First of all, offense was totally taken.
It took a lot of effort to give a tour of the house, and I thought it was amazing.
He's just jealous of my touring skills.
And my building skills.
I refuse to let that go.
Oh and secondly, huh, I guess my backyard is pretty big.
I mean, I never noticed it before, probably because I have walked around it so many times it seemed short to me.
"So, what do you want to do?" I question him as I walk further into the lawn.
"I don't know, what can you do?" He questions my question and looks around again.
Dang it, he's that type of person who answers a question with a question.
He sees our shed and walks towards it.
Just to be clear, there could be a serial killer in there and he wouldn't even know.

Just saying.
Or I might even be the serial killer...
...
Just kidding, no Nutella in jail so...
Luke opens the shed door and walks in.
And to say it was a total mess was an understatement.
There was stuff thrown everywhere in every direction you look at.
We also haven't really used this shed in years so there was dust everywhere.
Which means...
It could be haunted.
And by haunted, I mean ghosts!!
... I have a creative imagination.
"Ohh, you have a soccer ball! Do you know how to play?" Luke asks me as he grabs it from a small bin that was filled with jump ropes and frisbees.
"I have an idea how to, but I haven't played in years." I say in all honesty.
Like I said, before my dad went work crazy, my life was actually, well fun.
"Well, we could play a game, we can use maybe rocks for the goals or something." He says and walks out of the shed, me trailing behind him.
"Yeah, that could work." I stop following him and I go out further in the yard and I look around for about four rocks, two for each goal.
After searching for a couple of seconds, I found four perfect rocks that were about the same size and I walked back to where Luke was standing in the middle of the yard.
"You have a lot of security guards around your house." Luke exclaims, there were only two out here and some in the house.
Trust me, you should see the house on holidays.
They are almost everywhere!!
Which means I have to actually wear a bra when walking around my house.
It really sucks.
"Where should I put these?" I ask him and he turns towards me.
"How about I make my goal on the left side of your backyard and you make yours on the right." He suggests.
I nod my head and give him two of the four rocks and I head to my side.
I look over at Luke and we align our rocks with one another so our goals were the same size.
Once that was taken care of, we both walk back towards the middle.
"So, first to ten?" Luke questions, but I only shake my head at him.
"How about fifteen?" I offer instead, he nods his head and sets down the soccer ball so it was in the middle of us.
"Ladies first?" Luke says and I stifle a laugh.
"But I wanted to go first." I pretend to whine, at this, he gives me a small glare to which I wink at him in return.
Why?
Because I am nice.
Well, what I tell myself to make me feel better.
"Just for that, I will be the one going first." He says and steps back, getting ready to kick.
I back up a little, but at the last second, I run up and kick the ball first before he had the chance.
"Hey!!" He yells and chases after me as I head to the goal.
"You got to be quicker than that!!" I yell to him laughing as I score a goal.
"Cheater." He mutters and I only grin.
Something tells me this day won't be so bad after all.
At least that's what I was hoping for.
