《When We Crashed》Greetings

Ella's pov:

As I pace back and forth in my room, I can't help but think that this might have been not so much of a good idea.

I mean, sneaking out of my house?

Where would I go?

But it's not like I'm leaving for good. Obviously, I will come back, and when I do, I will probably be in a lot of trouble.

More than I ever have in my life.

But it will be worth it. At least I hope so.

I look around my room one more time before making a decision.

I don't want to do this.

I NEED to do this.

I peek out my door down the long hallway to my parent's bedroom.

Without any sign of the maids, I sneak down the hallway and into their bedroom.

Their room was plain and simple. The walls were a creamy white and the room was barely decorated.

Since they were both currently attending a meeting, I knew that they wouldn't be up here for at least another two hours.

That would defiantly be enough time to sneak out and in without them noticing.

I walk up to my mom's large dresser and open the small box which had three sets of car keys.

I pick up one set before quietly heading towards the door.

That was until I saw something else.

"Oh, my baby." I coo as I grab my phone and hug it to myself.

Yes, I love my phone.

I put it in my back pocket and quietly walk out of the bedroom and into the hallway.

"What are you doing?" A voice scares me.

I jump up and turn around to see my sister leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.

"It's none of your business Ally." I roll my eyes attempting to walk away.

Normally, I am never rude to my sister.

But all I can think about is her telling mom. She knew that mom would freak out on me if she knew that I wanted out of this house.

Not even a second later, I feel the car keys in my hand being ripped away.

"What are you doing with these?!" She says holding them up in front of my face.

"I said it's none of your business." I grab the keys from her hand but she doesn't let me try to walk away again.

I look up at her as she looks at me with a confused face. "Since when have we not told each other everything?" She questions.

"I don't know Ally, since when have we gone behind each other's backs?" This time, it was me to cross my arms over my chest.

"What are you even talking about?" She throws her hands up in the air.

"What do you mean what am I talking about? Why would you tell mom I wanted to leave?!"

Her eyes go wide. "Ella I.."

"Don't Ella me. I trusted you."

And believe me when I said this.

"I was trying to help you."

"By telling mom something that I only trusted you with?"

She stays silent and I don't hesitate to walk away toward the stairs.

"You're making a mistake." She calls out, but I ignore her.

I'm not letting this life control me any more than it already has.

~~~~~~~~~~~
You know those moments in life when you feel what you are doing is right but on the other hand you feel you are breaking some sort of law in the meantime?
Well, let me introduce you to me...
Who doesn't know what the frick she is doing?
Let me go into further detail.
"And may I ask why you are trying to leave?" The security guard questions standing right in front of the exit to my house.
So maybe... I didn't think this through.
At all.
You see, I kind of just thought, 'hey! I'm going to steal my mom's car and drive away.'
It wasn't until five seconds later that I remembered about the security guard my dad hired.
So, here I am after I pulled up the car to the security guard.
I let out a nervous laugh. "I need to go to the plaza."
"For what?"
With a fear of getting in trouble, I shout out the first thing that pops into my head.
"I need tampons."
Please tell me I did not just say that.
His eyes go wide as he stares at me with some sort of expression I really don't want to know.
I silently cringe at myself as he scratches the back of his neck and moves out of the way.
"Have a good day.... miss?" His sentence came out more like a question, but I was too busy being awkward to care about that.
I pull out and sigh in relief when I am out of view.
But the relief all drains away when I realize what I'm doing.
OH.
MY.
GOSH.
I just sneaked out...
....of the house I have been trapped in for years.
Okay so maybe 'trapped' is a bit exaggerative, but that's surely how it has felt.
It's not like it's the first time out of my house.
It's just the first time on my own.
So where do I go first?
Well...
~~~~~~~~~

"Hello, welcome to McDonald's how may I help you?" The person says from the drive-in speaker.

Yes, McDonald's.

The first time on my own and I choose a fast-food restaurant.

Doesn't that say a lot?

After placing my order down, I pull up to the next spot and take out a twenty-dollar bill that I snatched from my mom's purse. Somehow, I knew that I would need it.

Because I knew that if I was spending money...

It would be on food.

After paying, I get handed my bag and I park my car and start to eat.

I still can't believe I'm doing this.

I look at the clock to see I had another hour and a half until my parents meeting was over, which wasn't a lot of time to see everything, but I'll take it.

I pull out my phone and go onto google maps.

There were so many places that I didn't even know where to start.

So, I closed my eyes and pointed at a random spot on my phone like any non-childish person would do.

When I open them, I smile.

The local park...

Perfect.

I start up the car and pull out, with one thought on my mind, I am going to make the most out of this hour and a half.

~~~~~~~~~
"Excuse me lady, have you seen my sister?" I look back to see a boy looking up at me.
I decided to walk around the park for a while since I got bored of sitting on the bench looking like the loner I am.
"No, I'm sorry I haven't," I kneel down to the boy, "but I can help you find her if you want?"
"Really?" His eyes brighten as I nod my head at him.
"What is your name?" I question him.
"My name is Jake." He says.
I again nod my head and stand up and signal him to follow me.
"What does she look like?"
"Well, she has glasses, uhm.."
I laugh as I watch him try to think.
"Oh she has brown hair...uhm.."
"Anything else?"
"She is pretty lazy.."
"I don't think that will help.."
"She reads too many books, like who does that?"
"I think we are getting a little off track.."
"She actually likes school!" He says throwing his hands up in the air.
So now I know how difficult it is to be a good person.
Great.
We continue walking in silence for a couple of minutes until we get to the main clearing.
At least I'm pretty sure this is the main clearing.
Did I mention I have never been here before?
I try to look around for someone who fits his..
Not very good description.
"Is there anything else you can tell me? Like what she is wearing?"
"I don't know." He says shrugging his shoulders.
Meanwhile I feel like banging my head against a wall.
"Jake!! Oh my gosh you gave me a heart attack!! Are you okay? I am such a horrible sister!" A voice cries out. I look ahead of me to see a girl, who looks the same exact age as me, run over and engulf, what I'm guessing now is her brother in a hug.
After they hug and I stood there awkwardly for a couple of seconds, the girl turns to me. "Hi, my name is Julie." She smiles at me and holds out a hand.
"I'm Ella." I say back shaking her hand.
"Thanks for helping my brother, I'm pretty sure my mom would have killed me in my sleep if I lost him." She says.
I laugh as her face shows complete horror as if she was imagining her mother.
"It was really nothing." I shrug, but she shakes her head at me.
"No really, thanks! Are you new?"
"What do you mean?"
"To this town, I haven't seen you here before.." she starts to say but I shake my head at her.
"I'm homeschooled" I say and she nods her head in understanding.
"Oh, okay.." she says, suddenly, her eyes go wide.
"Oh no."
"What's wrong?"
"By any chance do you know what time it is?" She questions.
I pull out my phone, "5:30, why?"
"I just promised my friend I would be at his match. I better go. It was nice to meet you." She says and waves as her and Jake scurry out of the park.
I decide that I should leave too just incase my parents meeting is done early.
I walk back to my car and start to head back home.
Well, at least that's what I thought..
