"I swear to god, Murphy." Raven grumbled, rolling her eyes at him.
Murphy held up his hands in surrender hastily. Bellamy hid his smile, how were his friends so oblivious to each other's feelings?
He glanced at Clarke, who was talking to Maya animatedly. Then again, he and Clarke had been like that too. The thought made him smile again.
He walked over to Clarke and nudged her side. She turned away, her smiling widening when she saw who it was. "Mind if I steal my girlfriend for a moment?" He asked Maya.
When Maya nodded, he grabbed Clarke's hand and dragged her over to Murphy and Raven, who were still bickering. "Look at them." he whispered to Clarke. "They're so oblivious."
"We can hear you." Raven snapped, and Clarke shoved her fist into her mouth to stifle a laugh.
"I made sure of it." Bellamy told her with a wink, and as Raven glared at him, Clarke turned away, her shoulder shaking from contained laughter.
They walked past, and Clarke completely lost it, giggling until Bellamy had to tell her to stop because Raven kept giving them her murderous glares over her shoulder.
As the sky slowly darkened, Clarke and Bellamy settled into lawn chairs with Monty and Jasper. They talked about Clarke's new job- she'd been hired as an artist for a children's book last week. Clarke had always loved art more than the Hospital, and even though it paid less, she'd still gladly accepted it.
Her face lit up whenever she talked about art, which Bellamy of course thought was adorable.
Jasper stood up at about 9, and cleared his throat. The backyard fell silent. Jasper had become the official firework conductor, and of course he went all out. "Let the firework show begin!" He announced.

He stepped aside, and Maya was sitting on the grass, trying to light to firework. An awkward silence. Then Jasper said: "Well. Looks like you're about as good at lighting fireworks as you were last year."
Maya raised her eyebrows at him as she stood and handed him the lighter.
Jasper bent down, lighting it quickly, before backing up to stand beside Maya. The firework exploded in a colorful array of light before dying down again.
Clarke stood up to sit on his lap. Bellamy wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head as Jasper lit the next firework. "You're sickening." Raven mumbled to them as the next firework exploded.
Clarke stuck her tongue out at Raven, who stuck her tongue out right back.
The night passed quickly, Jasper enjoyed lighting fireworks way too much, and Monty had brought watermelon that was quickly devoured (mostly by Clarke).
By 10 PM, there was only one firework left. Jasper smuggled it in behind his back, before giving them a grand reveal. "May I present to you... THE HUNGRY ALLIGATOR!"
"Isn't that firework illegal?" Murphy asked, and when everyone else turned to glare at him, he added: "Just saying."
Jasper set it down and lit it, backing up quickly. Childish suspense filled the backyard. Green fireballs shot out of the top before the whole thing dissolved into a shower of sparks.
Raven clapped, but it wasn't over. The thing let off a sound like a firecracker before bursting into the sky. Clarke jerked back in surprise, letting out a nervous laugh. "I think I know why this thing is illegal." Clarke told Bellamy, but she didn't turn back to face him.
If she had, she would've seen him staring at the firework, his face silhouetted with its light, a single tear making its way down his face.
But he was smiling, too, because he knew that this wasn't the ending of his story.
It was just the beginning.

The Court of Souls?
Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it, or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur) ——————————————————————————————— Reading Order of the Multiverse-Books ——————————————————————————————— What do we talk about tonight? ~“How about a story?”~ Fine by me. Which story? Hopefully a good one. ~“There was once a lonely child in a world filled with myths, gods and demons. Only power counted there and the weak were worse than cattle. A world where survival of the fittest ruled.”~ Was it strong then? ~“No, but the child had a power. One that made him stand between light and darkness. Nothing could escape him, so he was shunned by his people.”~ What did he do? Did he fight his fate? Did he hide his power? What was it? ~“Oh, he fought. He fought a lot. And no thing could escape his power. It was something that everyone had to live with.”~ So he became a hero and changed the world? ~“…”~ Tell me. ~“Nooo, that's not how the story goes. This isn't a story of a noble man, doing good amidst a sea of monsters. This is a story of a demon who was... kinder than the rest.”~ A kind demon? How boring. ~“I think it would be better if I tell the story, so you can judge for yourself.”~ So tell the story!

In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
