《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Halfdan: Enemies wrath
Advertisement
You run like your life was depending on it, feeling adrenaline rushing through your body like nothing before. Despite you heard the violence around you, within you everything was completely silence while finding your way to the great hall. It was the only thing you wanted to do, getting to the great hall, getting to your husband who would keep the both of you safe. It wasn't much, still you supported your belly against whatever was hunting you down. You turned around the corner, seeing his clenched teeth as he killed one of the intruders. You wanted to call out but the loss of breath surprised you when somebody wrapped a hand before your mouth. You started screaming, looking to Halfdan who was so heated in his fight. 'Look good woman, the next time you see him it won't be with good news.' A man whispered in your ear. Your eyes started to fill with tears. Why did Harald had to provoke them, why was Halfdan always the one suffering under it.
Even after hours the panic didn't leave you. You felt so hollow, so empty, so not existent. The only thing that framed your eyes where those men and what they did, the pain they caused when they kicked you to the ground, the loss they made when they tear your clothes apart and raped you. It did nothing with you but only looking in front of you over the water. They left you here, on this spot, hardly clothed and with hours between there attack and the loss of your child. No tears, nothing. Until a sound ripped your attention away from that water, looking with thick swollen eyes over your shoulder. 'Brother!' Harald yelled. You looked at the man, the man you would hate for the rest of your life, this was his fault, because of him you lost everything. You closed the blanket more around you, ignoring the pain in your belly as you shifted a little. The soft running steps through the sand made your eyes a little blurry with tears until he fell on his knees aside you. 'My love.' His hands where blooded while he touched your face, tilting your head to look you in the eyes. 'I wasn't fast enough.' You whispered. All what you saw of ruthlessness drained out of his face, leaving an emptiness of emotions while he tried to measure your condition. 'I couldn't protect,' you sobbed, looking to the slight confusion before his eyes looked down over your hardly covered body. You answered his expressions. Halfdan didn't breath out, he slowly clenched his teeth before he got up and turned to his brother, smacking him right in the sand. 'This is your fault!' He shouted. He sounded so angry, so lost in his temper that you thought he would kill Harald right here on the spot. 'Halfdan.' You begged. He always was so sensitive to your emotions that his eyes turned right your way. That axe rested against Harald his throat, one slice, not more would it take for one brother to kill the other. But he didn't, he turned back to you and he lifted you up in his arms, in the safety you were looking for but couldn't reach before.

'I wasn't fast enough.' You repeated, torn between your anger and sadness for the loss of your unborn child. With an arm of him wrapped before your chest, your head resting against his shoulder, you finally started to realize. 'If I just,' 'Y/n.' He interrupted you. You had never heard him this vulnerable before, the way he stroke your hair. 'Nothing is your fault, I couldn't reach you in time, I should have fought harder but,' he took a deep breath, keeping your tighter. 'The only thing I am the gods thankful for is that they didn't took you to. You are alive, you are hear. There are enough other moments to be happy, for now you will never leave my sight.' He whispered in his own grief. You rested your hand on the emptiness underneath your skin. 'Don't leave me again.' You begged, haunted by the memories, now and forever.

It's up to you to help him survive the darkness of the Astral Ocean. This is the only book on Royal Road where your choice can make the MC become a villain or a hero, to die horribly and quickly, or slowly and painfully, to live out an interesting life, to become god, or to be trapped in a nightmarish loop without an end!

Joie de Vivre
A modern man chased immortality and found it. In a mixture of good and bad luck, he was re-born as part of the Uzumaki clan from the Naruto-verse, some few years before their scheduled destruction. But if Daichi were the sort to allow a little thing like fate to get in his way, he'd never have survived in the first place. Dedicated, intelligent, chock full of ideas from a technologically advanced society, and perfectly willing to scorch the earth, he sets out to avert history. Can he avert canon, save the Uzumaki, and forge his people into a mighty nation? Or will he fail, dooming his clan to extinction? At the end of the day, all he wants is a good life. And considering even Death itself didn't stop him, he pities whoever gets in his way. ================== Tags: Naruto, Reincarnation, OC, eventual multi-cross. ================== Author's (Brief) Note: Back by popular demand. This was my first significant fanfic (and fic in general). I wasn't happy with the writing as time went on, and took it down, but years later am still getting requests to put it back up so I guess some people liked it. Newly re-released as I finish some minor editing, there are about 100,000 words (~360 RRL pages) already written, so releases should be fast until I catch up with the backlog. That said, it may languish in hiatus at that point if the interest isn't high enough to merit continuing, so if you're the type to only read finished stories (or ones where the author promises to do so), I am very specifically not promising that. On the other hand, if enough people read, like, review, comment, rate, etc. then it will get added to my writing schedule. Generally, the character is based on a “how badass could someone who hasn't done ridiculously crazy shit be? Or, how does someone with the potential, in another setting, with a lot of luck, to be a badass act and develop as a modern, productive member of society? And then how would they deal with the Naruto-verse?” Please, please do not judge my writing by this. Unless you really like it, in which case fine, do, but recognize my other writing is likely better (unless it’s that one MTG/ASoIaF/SW fic I did over on SB as a speed-writing experiment, which is also pretty terrible).

King Erik must overcome this crushing responsibility or let it consume his people. A haunting past eats away at the Queen of Xer. Cara is hellbent on protecting the ones she loves and the future of her kingdom. Balancing the greater good, she fights to keep her head above the waves of guilt. In a remote town, Henry, an energetic bookworm is thrust into the world as chaos engulfs his once seemingly peaceful world. His lord has a task for him, one in which will change his life forever. Wars brew, betrayal is at each corner, shadows step into the light, a supernatural force awaits the time to strike. Awakening an ancient civilization from their past may be their only hope now. A spiraling doom awaits the world of Isulia. **************** I put the gore and traumatizing warnings not because my book is overly gory. However, there are a few moments that may be traumatizing to some people. As for the gore, it shows up fairly often but not extensively. I've always loved violence in movies and books, (The Boys, Banshee, Kingdom of heaven, Vikings, etc.) I am descriptive of the scenes with gore. So be warned :) I have multiple MC and as a nooby writer, I've had a harder time writing from a female POV. Just a heads up. Don't kill me if I make the woman in my book seem weird. The Forest's Guardian
Follow Iago, a man with a past unknown even to himself, who has dedicated his life to defending the Beasts of the Awakened Forest - sentient creatures with magical abilities highly sought after by poachers. He must battle Mages and foot soldiers alike, all while attempting to gain the trust of the Beasts as a whole, and grappling with his own motivations for what he does. Things were looking up for the Forest, until a new threat emerged, and the poachers gained far greater resources and numbers than ever before. Now he must face off against an Archmage - and the support of the Forest is not guarenteed. Old powers must be persuaded to assist, or the Forest will fall forever. I'm writing this for fun and don't think it's particularly good, but it's fun to write so I figure I may as well upload it here! If you give it a read, thank you, and I hope you enjoy! Trying my best to release a chapter every other day, barring most weekends/holidays (though I will still try to get them out, but I make no promises) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
