《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Hvitserk: Sweet talking
Advertisement
You couldn't keep a hold on yourself, seeing those boats sail in as you knew Hvitserk would be among them. You got used to the life alone in the past weeks, but it would be better with him, or at least if you had a child to take care of, which you didn't. Now all you did was washing, cleaning, serving a higher purpose. So yes, seeing the boats, having the usual banter of those brothers back around you would be a nice switch. You stood in the first row around the harbor, recognizing Ubbe as he already stood on the edge of the boat. As soon as the dock was within reach he jumped over on it, smiling like the conquering man. Only by his face you knew the rest was just fine. Your eyes scouted the boat and you bite your lip as you saw Hvitserk pulling himself up on a rope to walk onto the dock. He didn't greet the queen of Kattegat, his eyes scouted right for you, his wife. You tilted your head, not knowing what to do, cry, yell, run over to him. But clearly you didn't had to for he was already on his way. No words needed as you reached out for his face, fingertips resting against his jaw as he kissed you. Feeling his arms sneak around your waist was the best feeling you had in all that time. His taste didn't changed, you opened your lips to him, smiling like an idiot when he pulled back.
'Wife.' He greeted you. You opened your eyes and looked at him before throwing your arms around his neck, feeling how he buried his head in the crook of your neck. You laid your hand on the back of his head, feeling the familiar curves of his hair tight together in braids.
'I have missed you Hvitserk.' You signed, on the verge of tears, happy that he was alive and well.
That evening everybody gathered in the great hall to talk the victorious days of the Ragnarssons on their first joined raid. You foresaw everybody of ale and sat down aside Hvitserk who laid his hand almost immediately above your knee. You looked aside to him, still with that wide grin and he bowed closer, kissing you almost tenderly. You rather had him for yourself now but in tradition you wanted to hear everything, wanted to honor their travels.

'Did you hear what your husband did out there?' Ubbe asked with a joyful smirk around his lips as he pulled the ale towards him.
'No she doesn't.' Ivar guessed, chuckling over the piece of bread that Hvitserk threw his way. You looked aside to Hvitserk only for him to shook his head in reassurance.
'Tell me.' You insisted. Depending on the foolish smiled going fort and back it couldn't be that big a deal.
'Well,'
'Don't.' Hvitserk interrupted his elder brother.
'You gave us victory, can't you wife know the story?' Ubbe asked him right back. Hvitserk groaned for his own, his hand left you and you looked between the brothers in.
'Tell me.' You pushed through.
'Hvitserk almost died giving us victory.' Ivar spilled, like always, straight to the point. You just froze a little, not being able to move while Ubbe and Ivar started arguing about how he announced that kind of a fact. Your husband, Hvitserk Ragnarsson, got almost killed?
'You are making it bigger then it is.' Hvitserk protested. You gave him a warning look and looked right back at Ubbe.
'Alright, we were on the verge on raiding a village. Wooden walls, spikes, well defensed. We didn't knew what we could expect when Hvitserk just took the risk on walking out there and knocking.' Ubbe started.
'He did eat something of a mushroom the night before so I think he wasn't thinking clear. He quote,' Ivar paused a moment to give Hvitserk a warning glare before continuing. 'He quote; if the gods want me dead so be it. Valhalla isn't the end.' Ivar nodded and you just looked to the both of them. The silence around the table was almost pressing everybody down.
'And you let him?' Was your first reaction to it. Ubbe and Ivar changed looks, like they weren't expecting for you to react it out on them.
'We were preparing when we noticed he was gone.'
'You should,' you stopped your words and looked aside to Hvitserk, angry. 'just, no, let it slip.' You muttered, pushing up from the table.

'Y/n!' Hvitserk called after you. You ignored him, walking out back home. How could he be so selfish?
He caught up with you when you were almost home but for some reason he kept you on a safely distant.
'Y/n,'
'I don't want to hear it Hvitserk!' You warned him.
'You don't have to believe everything they say.' He started, desperately for you to stop and turn around, which you did.
'Did you risk your life?' You asked him straight forward. He looked down to the ground and you knew already enough. You started to walk again, turning around the corner when he grabbed your wrist.
'Y/n, please stop.' He begged you. You tried to pull your wrist loose but he was always the strongest of you two. 'Let me explain.'
'What is there to explain Hvitserk, you killed yourself almost and you said you didn't care if you would die. Did you think about me?' You asked him harshly.
'I thought of you all the time.' He softened his voice a little and you shook your head, not believing what he said. He lifted his hand but you slapped it away before it could touch you. He signed, let go of you and you walked over to the little house, pulling the layers of fur out before turning back to him. '
You ate mushrooms, how irresponsible are you Hvitserk?' You flew out and he kept his distance.
'I was careful.'
'You were heading into war.'
'A raid, just a village raid.' He corrected you. You putted your hands up, desperate.
'Do you hear yourself? You could have been killed Hvitserk.'
'I know, I'm sorry.' He crossed the little distance and laid his cold fingers against your face. 'I'm sorry. I didn't slept that night, all I could think of was almost loosing you in the stupid mistake I made.' He began, smoothening his fingers over your cheek. You looked him in the eyes, struggling in keeping angry or giving in on how much you missed him. 'Please please please, I have missed you to much to make a drama over it now.' He whispered.
'You think I'm over reacting?' You flared up again.
'No.' He reacted right away. 'I just don't want to discuss it now.' He placed his lips against your cheek, a nose stroking in the movements and you couldn't keep grip on the frustrations. 'Forgive me.' He whispered, moving his head so his lips lingered just over yours. You opened yours, eager on tasting him but struggling to keep control.
'No.' You answered, looking up into his eyes while your hands crawled over his chest.
'What if I promise to never do something this stupid again?' He asked, a warm breath hitting your lips. You closed your eyes, a hand curling around his wrist. 'I love you Y/n, and I need you.' He know how much he could get done with words. You felt lost, caving under the words as he knew he had won his battle and placed his lips on yours. You signed wrapping an arm around his shoulder while he leaded you straight to the bedroom. Feeling his hands, his eager touch, you forgot the anger, the frustration and just give in on the feeling he gave you. His hands traveled down, pulling your dress up in his hands that laid on your hips. The fabrics scouring your body as he lifted it over your head, leaving you naked and vulnerable to his loving eyes. 'How could I even think that I could leave you, this,' his words got drown in a kiss while his hand caressed your naked body before he laid you on the bed, loving you like he never did before.
