《Vikings, Mini Drabbles》Hvitserk: Protective father

Your father his father was a skilled boat builder, on occasion he made something for his own, like that rocking chair you so much loved. You father give it to you when you announced him your pregnancy, what was about three months ago. Wrapped in a blanket you rocked fort and back in the chair, resting your hand on your belly, more like a baby bump really. You looked at it way to much, loving it grow, waiting for the first kicks but it wasn't that moment yet.
'On day I will be sitting here and watching you play, or maybe further on you will be sitting here yourself, looking down to your own baby bump.' You smiled down to your belly.
'Who says it will be a girl?' A voice asked from behind. You startled that hard you jumped out of the chair and he caught you right at your upper arms. 'Y/n.' He reacted startled himself.
'Hvitserk!' You smacked your hand against his chest, angry.
'I'm sorry.' He fell out, worried looking down to your belly.
'Oh, you think she is startled, what about me?' You lashed out. You really couldn't call it lashing out as it was more the fact that he startled you that much.
'We don't know if it will be a daughter.'
'Leave my fantasy intact, you did already enough.' You stated. He slowly sneaked his arms around your body and pulled you closer.
'Forgive me?' He asked with a tilted head. You muttered something for your own before stroking your hands around his neck over his long hair.
'Maybe.' You smiled, looking into his bright eyes. His charming smile showed up before he kissed you gently.
'I love it when you tell our unborn child how the future will look.' He whispered, leaning his forehead against yours. You smiled, resting your fingertips against his jaws.

'Are you always secretly listening?'
'Most of the time.' He placed a fast kiss against your lips before crouching down, placing a kiss against your belly. 'My stories aren't half that good as the one your mothers tells you.' He whispered. You smiled when he looked back up to you. How could you still be so madly in love with him? Even after all this time.
His brothers invited you for dinner. Margrethe had cooked and Ivar sat in the corner, sharpening his knife as you walked in.
'Look who's getting all fat.' He stated as soon as you came in his sight.
'Still that sweet and concerned.' You reacted right back while walking over to Ivar. He sat up on the bench, pointing his knife at your belly.
'Brother!' Hvitserk yanked that knife out of his hands and aimed it to the wall, throwing it there. You frowned your eyebrows, looking how he laid his hand aside your belly before walking over to Ubbe and Margrethe. You and Ivar looked behind him before looking back to each other.
'He is still that protective?' He asked secretly. You chuckled and sat down beside him, looking how Hvitserk smiled to his brother, both looking over to you for a moment, you just waved.
'Wouldn't you?' You asked.
'Not if I have a woman like you.' He said, scouting your body. You slapped him against his crippled legs and he chuckled before you both looked towards Ubbe who nodded over to the table. Hvitserk offered you his hand to help you up and you took it. 'You shouldn't pet her like that Hvitserk.' Ivar stated, like he knew everything about it. Hvitserk placed his lips against your temple, looking over your shoulder to his brother.

'She is carrying my child, she deserve all of that.' He said it with proud and love. You pulled his head your way and placed a kiss on his lips.
'If you don't forget to take care of yourself sometimes you won't hear me complain.' You smiled. He nodded, giving you one of his intense looks before leading you over to the table. Ubbe was pouring ale and even before he got to you Hvitserk grabbed your cup.
'No ale, I heard it isn't good.' He stated. You couldn't hold back a chuckle on his concern. Ubbe frowned his eyebrows, amused looking towards you, you formed the word 'water' with your lips and he skipped you to give you water sometime later. During the meal Hvitserk shared his love for food and you equally. Times he enjoyed the ale and the conversations his hand laid on your baby bump caressing it with his fingertips. And when you later walked back out with him you couldn't resist on pulling him at his collar towards you, kissing him half smiling. 'Where is that good for?' He asked surprised.
'Just the fact I love you.' You clarified. He nodded in approval and kissed you fast.
'I love the both of you.' He confessed ... again.
