《Never in a Million Years ✔️》23- Thats unfortunate

"Can one of you help me wrap this, I have to take a shower" I huff, trying to wrap the plastic bag around my cast but failing miserably.
It's been two and a half weeks since I got the cast. I can't even write. Like Caleb and Dr.Hannom predicted, I broke my hand in multiple spots. One of my knuckles, and two fractures in my wrist.
"I can help you" Caleb wiggles his brows suggestively earning an eyeroll from me and a whack on the head from Arrex.
"Ow"
"Thank you" I grin at my brother as Caleb rubs the back of his head. Sometimes he really just deserved it.
"No problem" Arrex grins as he wraps and tapes the bag around my cast before giving it a light tap.
"I'll be back down in a few" I yell before quickly running back upstairs
"Don't threaten me!"Caleb retorts again making me roll my eyes.
After taking a quick shower, I quickly brush my teeth and hair before throwing in a theory of a Deadman t-shirt with a pair of blue jean shorts.
"Where are you going?" Ace asks as I sit down on the stairs to tie my shoes.
"Dallas and I are going out to get some food" I tell him.
I glance at the guys and all see them look at eachother. It's safe to say that they really don't like Dallas all that much. We'd been hanging out more since the day of the party, much to their dismay.
"Guys please, we're just hanging out" I huff and their overprotective ness, it got old sometimes.
"Yeah we know all about just 'hanging out'" Caleb rolls his eyes, again earning another smack from Arrex.
"Dude what the fuck?!" Caleb says rubbing the back of his head. "And you straightened your hair again, something you don't really need to do. You only do it when you are with him"
"He likes it straightened"
"Well he's a dumbass" Caleb snorts "You also started dressing differnetly, and wearing more makeup" he points out
"Okay? And? I'm finally acting more feminine, is it a bad thing?" I question immediately getting defensive.
My brothers just stop and observe the stare down happening between us.
"Listen I don't wanna argue with you, I'm just saying that you've only been hanging out for like a little less that three weeks and you have changed for him, you never wear a lot of makeup and you never straighten your hair. It's not a bad thing, you can do whatever the hell you want as long as it's what you want, not anyone else." he shrugs
I narrow my eyes at him before looking at my brothers. They just nod I'm agrreance.
"Guys I'm still me, don't worry" I roll
My eyes at their unnecessary concern before
I feel my phone ring in my hands, seeing the text from Dallas and immediately stand up, giving my brothers a kiss on the cheek and Caleb a playful shove of his head before leaving.
"Okay he's here, love you guys," I say looking at all of them
"I'll be back in a bit" I yell before closing the door and running over to Dallas's car
"Back by eight, its Monday and dads getting home early" I hear Arrex yell out. I'd honestly forgot. I get my cast off on Wednesday if the scans are clear.
"Hey Belle" Dallas smiles as I plop into he passenger seat
"Hey Dally" I grin "So where are we going?"
He just shrugs and looks over at me "I don't know, you can choose"

I stop to hink. The times we've gone out in the passed wekk, we've gone to nice places. And although I'm happy he wants to go to these nice places, this time around I just wanted a giant greasy ass burger.
"Let's go to Kanes" I smile at him, he'd never been to Kanes. I think it'd be a nice change of scenery.
"Really? Kanes?" He questions, as he turns where I tell him to
"Yeah it's the best place in town" I smile and nod
I hear him mumble something but choose to ignore it as we pull into the Kanes parking lot. Kanes has never been much, just a small bar and grill. Everyone in town loved it though, it was our little place.
"Hey Baby Bails" Kane smiles and waves as we walk in
"Hey Kane" I smile at him as I drag Dallas over to the usual booth
"So this is Kanes?" He questions, distaste laced through his voice as he looks around.
"Yep!" I smile as Kane makes his way to our table
"Usual Belle?" Kane questions
"Everything, shitload of ranch" I grin before looking at Dallas "Do you know what you want?"
"Uh do y'all have pasta? Gnocchi maybe?" He questions making me laugh slightly
"Uh I'd recommend a burger, they're the best here" I tell him. Kane's wasn't really that kind of place. It was know for its burgers and wings.
"Oh, okay just have the normal cheeseburger then " Dallas smiles fakely at Kane
"Okay I'll get that right for y'all" Kane nods before returning to the kitchen.
I smile at Dallas as he glances around. The bar was open but fairly empty considering it was a Monday night. Granted it was still early too, so that could also be it.
"Whats wrong?" I question. He was looking around weirdly.
Within seconds it clicks. This place isn't really his scene. Caleb was right, he's a rich kid, used to fancy food and expensive restraunts. Not dusty old bar and grills with ultra greasy goodness.
"I'm sorry, I didn't think. This place isn't really your scene" I huff
"It's different" he shrugs, looking back at me
"It's home for me" I sigh "this is where I grew up"
We were quiet for a minute or two, only to be interrupted by an eerily familiar, annoying voice.
"Well if it isn't Princess" Caleb grins as he slides in the booth beside me, Beck and Ace pull chairs over to the table as Em sits next to Dallas on the other side of the table and Arrex sits next to her.
"Wait what are you guys doing here?" I question as I look over at Dallas. His face showed hints of annoyance. I knew it.
"I'm sorry I had no idea you guys were here" Em pleads.
I can't really blame them, I didn't tell them where I was going to be in the first place, but just with my luck they're here.
"We won't stay for long, promise" Beck states glancing at Dallas before looking back at me "We just came to get food"
I just nod my head with a small grin. He usually had my back with these things even if he did hate Dallas with a passion.
"Oh Belle, Brett is coming in this weekend" Ace smiles
"Yay! I can't wait to see him again"
"Wait who's Brett?" Dallas questions
"We met him at a party," I smile "He's awesome"
I glance at Ace, and he just smiled and nods at me, allowing for me to tell Dallas. Ace doesn't really care who knows that he's gay, but I still just like to make sure it's fine with him before I tell people.
"Ace likes him" I tell him making his eyes go wide
"You're gay?" I hear a hint of indifference in his voice as he stares at Ace
"Yep" Ace nods proudly.
He's really come out of his shell. When he first came out, he was shy and extremely quite, almost ashamed of it. But he has really grown so much and has learned to accept himself. He is so confident now and it's amazing.
"Oh okay" Dallas shrugs, but I could tell he was bothered by something
"Anyway" I smile as I turn back to Ace "what are y'all gonna do?" I ask him
"Probably just hang out. He's like you, doesn't really want anything big. Simple is best. we'll probably just eat and watch some movies. I'm trying to think of something else to do though," He smiles
"Aw thats so cute" Em and I both coo earning an eyeroll from my brothers and Caleb. Beck even silently mocks us.
"Ow" Beck whines after she smacks him upside the head
"Yeah he's a movie nerd" Ace nods with a smile "I already rented a few of his favorites. But he's gonna be here the whole weekend so I wanna plan some other things"
I was so happy he's finally happy.
His last boyfriend, Jack, was an asshole. He wasn't out yet, which I felt bad about, but he never wanted to be with Ace in public and he just lead him on for so long. Turns out he had another boyfriend the whole time he was dating Ace.
"Wait! Maybe we can go to the beach House! We could leave Thursday night so you and Brett can have a night without us and the you two can drive down on Friday!" I smile at him, we didn't have school plus they didn't have football this Friday so that also wasn't a problem
"We'd have to ask dad and Cheri but I think he'd be fine with it. We havent been to the beach house since the Fourth of July" Beck says
"Wait you guys have a beach house?" Dallas questions
"Yeah, it's just a small little house on a private Beach in Galveston." Arrex nods, the beach house was a special place for all of us, but to Arrex it was extremely special "It's been in our family since my dads dad, our grandpa, was little"
"Oh that's cool" Dallas grins "I used to go there all the time with my grandma"
For the first time I see Caleb actually slightly smile at Dallas.
Caleb used to go to the boardwalk with his grandma all the time too. It was a summer tradition.
I smile at the small interaction between the two before noticing Kane approaching.
"Okay Belle, your usual bacon cheeseburger, fries and Extra ranch, and then the cheeseburger with fries" Kane grins as he hands Dallas and I our food.
"Y'all want your usuals?"Kane asks everyone else
"Yes please!" Em grins
"Thanks Kane" Caleb says as he walks back to the kitchen
"This thing is so greasy" Dallas says as he sizes the burger up
"It's amazing" I lick my lips at my burger "The patty literally melts in your mouth"
Kane comes out minutes late with everyone elses food and we're all quiet as we dig in.
"So Kazer, that's a nice truck you have out there" Dallas says gesturing out the window to Caleb's old red pick up.
That fuckin truck. I loved it. He had saved up since sixth grade to get that truck by sophomore year, doing all the shitty little jobs he could to get enough money for it. Allen, the little old guy at our auto body shop, gave it to him at a discounted price, but it still took him just over four years to save enough.
"Thanks" Caleb smiles slightly "It used to be a lot worse looking but after saving up for four years I was able to buy it and fix it up" Caleb nods proudly.
That truck was his baby. The only thing he loves more than the truck was his family and even that was debatable.
"You did that?" Dallas quesrions
"Yeah he's been working on cars and trucks basically his whole life" I nods. Him and Arrex even taught Beck and I how fix them. The only thing he didn't teach me was how to change a tire. I wasn't super good at the rest of it but I could for the most part still do it.
"I just do it for something go do." Caleb shrugs
"What about your car? That thing looks brand new."
"Yeah my dad just got it, he lets me use it while he out of town" Dallas shrugs "I drove it to the last football game"
"Oh Yeah" Caleb smirks and I immediately nudge his leg with mine, silently telling him don't be a dick.
"Yeah you two kicked Williams ass" Dallas rolls his eyes
"Okay Dally I though we were over this" I say with slight annoyance. Turns out Williams was one of his best friends. He wasn't too happy when he found out I was the partial source of his concussion, swollen jaw and black eye.
"Bonnie and Clyde had us dying" Beck smirks, knowing he stirring the pot between Dallas and I.
When I first told Dallas he was mad at me but got over it, I guess he still was harbouring some feeling about the situation
"Bonnie and Clyde?" Dallas questions
"Bails and Caleb" Arrex clarifies "It's what his mom has called them whenever they do something stupid or get into trouble"
I just grin at Caleb before looking back at Dallas "It's not that often, but I think it's gonna stick this time" I huff
"Okay guys, let's go, we've eaten, let's leave these two alone" Em says, trying to push A pit of the booth
"But-" Arrex starts to whine but Em gave him the scary wide eyed look and immediately shut up. The guys scoot out of the booth, all following suit and throwing money on the table.
"Thanks Kane!" They all yell back into the kitchen before turning back to me
"Belle home by eight" Arrex states sternly
"Yeah I got it Arrex. See you guys at home" I say making him roll my eyes as they leave.
"Well that was ...Fun"
"I'm sorry about that, they can be a little overbearing if you aren't used to them" I apologize for my brothers
"Just a little" Dallas chuckles lightly "So you and Caleb are close? I knew you guys were kinda close but I didn't know like that"
"I guess, he's been there my whole
Life. He's just as important to me as my brothers are"
"How? You're sweet and nice and hes a dick" he snorts, obviously amused.
I just stare at him. Sure, I was allowed to call him a dick, but no one else was. Though Caleb was an ass sometimes, there was more to him than just that stupid image. He was actually the sweetest person I've meet in my life. He's incredibly smart and annoyingly stubborn/ determined. He was caring and compassionate, and if he loved you, then he would be there for you, always. That was just his nature, but most people never got to see that side of him.
"Thats only the Caleb that everyone else sees. Sure he's a dick sometimes, but he's actually an amazing person. Just a little rough around the edges." I defends my friend. I may not like him all the time, but I'll always defend him.
"And Bonnie and Clyde?" He raises and accusatory brow. It was like he was fuckin interrogating me about my friends and family.
"Yeah that was all true" I sigh "He and I are usually the ones to get in a fight together, so every time it would happen his mom would yell at us and call us Bonnie and Clyde." I smile at the sentiment. It was a cute nickname for us and it corresponded with our own names with the B and C.
"You guys all seem really close" Dallas he says though there was the slight edge to his voice
"We are, we're together almost every day" I nod along, there was no point in lying, it was true.
"I don't know if I like that" he states making me drop my fry. He is not about to say what I think k he's going to.
"Well that's unfortunate," I snort "And I don't like the fact that you're basically interrogating and bashing my fuckin friend right now. But I wasnt a bitch now was I?" I could be a bitch when I wanted to. I could be the biggest condescending bitch, it just took a lot to get me to that point.
"No seriously, you spend more time with him than you do me" Dallas states ignoring my second statement
And here it goes. We were doing so well too.
"Well sorry he's always at my house," I stare at him in a challenging stare down.
Sure I'd change my hair and wear more makeup for him. By there was no way in hell I'd start abandoning my friends.
"Well I'm just saying you could avoid him" he mumbles, picking at his fries
"And I'm saying I'm not going to do that."
"Why not?" He snaps impatiently
"I literally just told you how much he meant to me and you're first thought is for me to stop hanging out with him. I don't know what goes on in your mind, but that doesn't sound right to me." I retort with an eye roll "Listen Dallas I like you, a lot. And I like hanging out with you. But we aren't dating and even if we were you can't play the over jealous asshole. Don't make me choose between you or them, you won't like the outcome. I'm telling you now that it will always be them."
"Okay fine, fine. I still don't like him" he grumbles
"OH trust me he doesn't like you either" I chuckle "but he knows what you mean to me so he's not a dick. It would be nice if you could do the same"
"Okay well it's getting kinda late, wanna go?" He quickly changes the subject as he stands up.
"Yeah, let me give this to Kane" I say before adding a $20 to the small pile of money and taking it up to the bar
"Thanks Kane" I smile as I hand him the cash
"No thank you" he grins "You know you don't always have to give pay me right?"
"I do it cause I want to. You deal with us every day, it's the least I can do"
"Well thank you Belle" he smiles
"No problem" He grins as I join Dallas at the door
"Love ya B!" Kane yells before speed walking over to another table
"Love ya too Kane"
"Jesus do you know everyone in this town?"
Dallas questions as we enter his car.
I just laugh. Our towns may have been right next to eachother, but our worlds were two very different ones.
"Pretty much yeah, it's a small town" I shrug as we drive down my street
"Hey listen I'm sorry about the whole Caleb thing. I got jealous, you guys are close and he seems to really care about you. I will fully respect that" He says sincerely
"Thank you. Caleb and I are just friends, and we do care about eachother. He knows literally everything about me, but I like you" smile at him just as we pull into my driveway
"Night Belle" he grins as I step out of the car
"Night Dally"

Horizon
Emiluna is about to turn 16 and gain access to her first two classes. Living in a small village in the middle of nowhere, she always wanted to become a Hunter. Having learned a bit under her parents, a miller and a seamstress, she was sure she could never pick a class that meant staying inside all day. But being a Hunter is more than just a class. It means providing meat for the village, culling small pests near the cultivated fields and most importantly guarding the village from predators and monsters. But Emiluna is not a normal girl and her destiny far bigger than she could have ever imagined.Join her as she finds out what awaits just behind the horizon.[Word from the author]I am looking to create a fantasy world that has some logic to it and stays believable even as characters gain power and progress in levels.Classes and level quantify the people's progress, but they do not artificially inflate their power to demi-god levels. I am primarily trying to write a captivating story, not "power-porn". That means it will be slower than the fast burning litRPG you might be used to, but it won't burn out that quickly either and I won't drop half of my plots at the wayside. I should mention that English is not my native language. I hope it is mostly unnoticeable, but sometimes I manage to slip some awkard sentence structure in there (German sometimes puts things together in reverse). It it also my first time writing an actual fantasy novel and the first time writing anything at length in English. Any constructive feedback is very welcome.Credit where credit is due: Cover picture by Paul Bica (Licensed under CC 2.0)Check out his amazing photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dexxusYes, my cover picture is a photo, not a drawing. :D I might try my hand at some Paint-ification later to add the title.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

RE: Choice
Misaka is a shy misunderstood 16-year-old boy in his first year of high school in Japan. His parents wanted him to be a girl, so they gave him a girl's name. He grew up being bullied and ostracized by his peers. In junior high, he developed a crush on a girl in another school who greeted him with a smile. Later, he found out the girl's name was Lucy and applied to the high school she was going to. One year later, he musters up the courage to confess his feelings for her only to find out that she was the wrong girl all along. Suddenly, a piano falls on top of him and he dies.He finds himself in front of one that calls himself God. He takes pity on Misaka and bestows him with the name Durrendal. He gives him another chance at life in another world and lets him pick a power of his choosing to take into the world. Story is going to be heavy reader interactive. Expect short frequent chapters. One chapter every few days. Two per week minimum. If I feel like it, more than that.Your choices WILL influence the story. It determines whether you get a game over (may discover new information), go around in circles never advancing the story, or advancing the story. Consequences of certain actions will shift Durrendal toward evil or good. The default personality of Durrendal may be ""pervy"" but depending on the actions that he takes it can be reversed. Think of the character as a game character. You are playing a game. It does not require that you make an account to vote. So screw around or advance the story? It's up to you.

Naga rising (Final version)
Eshanai used to think that her life was pretty good, that the elders of her tribe of Naga sisters had their best interests at heart. But one suspiciously regular disaster after another sort of makes you question things. So when Eshanai decides to go out on the island to do the unthinkable, break some rules, and nothing terrible happens to her like the elders said it would, her questions start to multiply. What else could the elders be wrong about? Were the Naga really chosen by the spirits? And could there be other people out there, beyond their island? Follow Eshanai and some of her sisters as she tries to find a way to leave the island and comes up with increasingly creative ways to get into a certain Oni's pants. Author's note: This is not a rewrite of my original Naga rising story. It's more of a reimagining, as it contains many of the same characters and settings but will have a completely different plot. Be advised that the two are not related to one another. This should not be seen as any form of sequel or prequel story. So I have caught up to my backlog, and at first, I thought I could release a chapter once a week. That turned out to be unrealistic as I am writing in my spare time, so periods of inaction might not be uncommon. Some of the tags might not come into effect until later on in the story.

Why The Hell Not
Sweat started to form all around my body as the pain consumed me. It was 9pm and this had to be the worst wave of heat I've ever experienced! The second you turn 16 your heat starts. Then for the rest of your life you get a heat cycle once a month, as if having a period isn't bad enough. The heat happens right after your period, leaving you 2 weeks of peace as a woman if you find your mate your 16 years of life! If you did not find your mate at 16, when you turn 17 it will be every 2 weeks! Your period is still once a month, thankfully, but the heat cycle directly after your period is the strongest! Leaving you ONE week of peace...unless of course you don't find your mate by the time you turn 17. If you are unlucky enough to not have found your mate by the time you are 18, then yes it will be EVERY week! Leaving you NO peace!!Basically the longer you go without finding your mate, the more heat you will go through. If you're 20+ then it could be EVERY hour! Once you find your mate it goes back down to once a month, thankfully. Lucky, or lucky for me, I'm 17...meaning I've gotta deal with this every 2 weeks. This one in particular is the worst one yet!
