Jimin

Two days.

Two whole days. That's how long Ma-ri ignored and gave me the silent treatment for. I couldn't even be upset, I deserved it.

For two entire days she lived as if I didn't exist and that hurt more than if she would have screamed at me and cursed me out. I apologized with flowers, lots of flowers. I wasn't sure if she actually liked them, but I needed to prove how sorry I was. She would simply glance at whatever I presented to her and turn the other direction or leave the room completely. I was feeling defeated, but I was not going to give up. I know I hurt her deeply with what I said but I didn't mean it-not even a little bit, she means the world to me and not a fraction less.

On day three I decided I had to make her listen to me. When she woke up, I had a bath drawn for her with a citrus bath bomb, after her relaxing soak I served her favorite breakfast of French toast with fresh berries, crispy bacon and cheesy scrambled eggs. When she was done eating, I cleared away her plate and cup to wash them, as I worked in silence, I felt her watching me and I wanted to say something, but I didn't know if she was ready to talk to me yet.

Before I could muster up the courage to say a single word she was gone, I turned to see an empty chair and kitchen. I slapped the dish towel down and sighed heavily, she was really committed to the act and as frustrated as I was, I had to take it. I made her feel insignificant, but she could never be anything less than a priority to me, none of my soulmates could. I trudged upstairs to my room and fell back onto my unmade bed, trying to think of a way to break the silence that's settled between us. I felt the hurt I caused her, and it made me feel like shit and made me wish I had a time machine so I could have just told her the truth about my family upfront.

As I laid on my bed, racking my brain for ideas a firm knock on my door caught my attention "Come in" I tell them

"Are you okay?" Jungkook asked, getting on the bed with me. He laid in the opposite direction but with his head next to mine

"No," I answered honestly "Ma-ri still won't talk to me or stay in the same room with me long enough to hear me out either. I don't know what to do to change this"

"What is she feeling right now?" He asked. I tilted my head slightly and closed my eyes, I focused solely on Ma-ri but I didn't feel much of anything.

"Nothing. I don't feel any strong feelings negative or positive which is somehow worse than if she was angry. It's like she doesn't care."

"She is stubborn" was all he said. The room fell silent for a few minutes when I got an idea that was a little cliche but would be my best shot. I couldn't let another day go by with her ignoring me like that.

"I have an idea; can you help me?"

"Of course, what do you need me to do?" He asked. I sat up and pulled my phone out, opened my web browser.

"Pick up her favorite cake, I'm calling the bakery right now and will text you when it's ready. I need to go to the Lotte store"

"Okay... what are you planning?"

"You'll see," I smiled and pecked his lips "Keep your phone nearby"

I grabbed a coat from my closet, my wallet and shoved my phone in my pocket. Downstairs I grabbed my keys and closed the door behind me. Once in my car I called the bakery to see if they had any triple chocolate cherry cake available, either by the slice or a whole cake. Thankfully they had half a cake available so I text JK right away so he could go get it.

Merging into traffic I navigated the streets of Seoul until I reached my destination. Making sure I was as unrecognizable as possible with a hat, a mask and sunglasses, I entered the large department store after parking, making my first stop in the Dior store, picking up two fragrances. Next, I went to the Gucci store to buy her a new handbag, the Ugg store and lastly, I went to Tiffany & co., an apology diamond couldn't hurt.

When I was done at Lotte, I had to drive to a specialty toy store for the best part of her gift package. Jungkook texted me to let me know he got the cake along with some white chocolate- raspberry cake pops. I made it to the toy store and happily found exactly what I needed, paid for it then left.

I had the store clerks gift wrap everything so I could skip that step myself. Jungkook must have been watching for me because as soon as I opened the door to our house he was there, like he was waiting.

"Were you waiting for me?" I asked, setting the bags to the side so I could go and get the main gift

"Kind of. What's all this stuff?" He nodded at the luxury brand bags

"Present for Princess, I need help with the last one. It's huge" JK made a confused face but followed me anyway

"Holy shit, that is enormous!" He exclaimed while I smiled "How did you fit it in here?"

"Me and the girl and the store had to force it in" he and I carefully wiggled it out so we would rip or damage it.

We carried it inside and sat it in the corner until we could take off our shoes. I grabbed the other bags since Jungkook grabbed the jumbo stuffed animal, dragging it towards her bedroom. The door was open, and I was able to see that her room was empty, which I preferred. I set the bags on her bed then helped get the teddy bear through the doorway.

"Thanks, Guk"

"No problem," he said, wiping the droplets of sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand then wiping his hand on his shirt. " The cake is in the fridge"

"Perfect. I appreciate your help, I got it from here." Jungkook nodded and walked out the room. I managed to wiggle the heavy stuffed bear into the corner then tied a big red ribbon, I bought along with it, around its neck.

With everything in place, I searched the house for my princess but didn't have to look long or far considering she came running through the house screaming, which scared me shitless. She flew past me in a blur of hair and blue, courtesy of her hoodie, which made me turn on my heels to follow her. Ma-ri fell into her desk chair and opened her laptop excitedly with tunnel vision, paying no mind to me or the bags sitting on her bed.

"I got the job!" She screamed, bouncing in her chair and clapping her hands. What sounded like a stampede of people funneled into her room as the rest of our soulmates came to see what the ruckus was

"What happened?" Jin asked, looking her over for injuries

"Are you hurt? Do you need a hospital?" Taehyung added

"No" she grinned, trying to calm down "I'm fine, I'm great actually, I got the job! I got a job!" She squealed and a collective relief rushed through all of us.

"Congratulations baby" Namjoon scooped her up in a bear hug, lifting her thick body from the chair "I'm so happy for you"

"Thanks, Joonie" she kissed his cheek before he sat her back down. She stood up on her own to receive hugs and high fives from everyone. I stood back, waiting to go last

"That is awesome news baby girl, when do you start?" Hoseok asked pulling out of their embrace

"Two weeks, a few days after your vacation ends actually. Oh, I'm so glad to be working again soon" she smiled, turning back to the email displayed on her laptop screen.

"This is good news love, we should celebrate" Yoongi expressed.

"I agree," Jungkook said, looking back at me "but we can do that later" he tapped Yoongi's shoulder and pointed at me

"Oh, yeah. I just remembered I have a thing" his acting was terrible, but I did appreciate him taking the hint

"What thing? You said- ow" Tae winced when Jungkook yanked him back by his hair

"We also have a thing Noona, but we promise to celebrate later with alcohol" Ma-ri looked at everyone like they were weird and shrugged

"Oh, right, yeah I almost forgot about the thing" Namjoon played along

"Yeah, us too. Completely slipped my mind" the six of them pretended to remember.

"Okay, go do your imaginary things" we all chuckled at them being busted. Everyone filed out of her room, Jin being the last one, winked at me then closed the door behind them.

She settled into her desk chair again, smiling before closing her laptop. I cleared my throat to let her know I was still in the room with her. She jumped and turned to see me coming out of the corner, her smile straightened.

"I was hoping we could finally talk" She looked beyond me to see the life-sized teddy bear then towards her bed

"You thought you could buy my forgiveness?" Her face deadpanned on me.

"No," I sighed "Ma-ri I am so sorry for saying what I said about you, I honestly didn't mean it. I know it hurt you and trust me when I say that is the last thing I ever intended to do" I started, approaching her cautiously. "I bought you all these things because I'm trying to prove that you are not, and could never be, just some girl because I would never splurge on and spoil anyone that I don't love like this."

"Why didn't you tell me about your parents before?"

"I was embarrassed, and I didn't want you to know my parents are those types of people" I answered looking away. "I didn't want you to be rejected by people who are supposed to love you, again. When I found out how they felt about you, I asked them to meet you and gather their own opinion of you instead of basing it on ignorant and false stereotypes"

"I can understand being embarrassed and that's exactly why you should have talked to me first, Jimin, I'm not so fragile that you have to lie to me about people liking me. I grew up a biracial child in America-I'm used to being disliked and judged based on the way I look. It's unfortunate but ignorant people aren't a new concept to me" She expressed, her eyes boring into mine "Yeah it sucks but that's world we live in, I don't blame you for how your parents feel, especially when you tried to make a negative situation into a positive one, but I do blame you for lying to me... I thought our bond made it impossible to lie to one another"

"It's not impossible but it's usually harder to do because our emotions would usually give off a signal that one of us is lying but we haven't been linked long enough to detect that signal when it's very faint. I understand how I handled the situation as wrong, but I was coming from a good place Ma-ri and I thought I was saving you from more rejection and heartache by not telling you how my parents really feel about you. In my mind I figured if you met them once we could kind of use our busy schedules to avoid them since I rarely see them much when we are working and traveling. I hope in time you can forgive because I am truly sorry and I really do love you" I kneeled in front of her, taking both of her hands in mine

"I love you too Jimin. I also know you're sincere in your apology but it's going to take some time for me to fully trust you because you took advantage of something special to us." I had a feeling she'd say that.

"That's fair, I betrayed you and I'm so sorry. You mean the world to me princess and I hate that I made you feel like you don't because that is simply not true. If you want me to return this stuff I will, I wasn't trying to use money to manipulate you into forgiving me"

"Now, I didn't say all that" she giggled which lessened the tension between us. I stood up and pulled her chair towards the foot of her bed "Oooh Dior, Ugg, Gucci and Tiffany, after only two days of the silent treatment" she sang with a snide smirk

"Felt like two weeks, I hated it." I watched as she opened and unwrapped everything set in front of her, her eyes widening and shimmering as she saw the expensive items that were now hers.

"This is all beautiful Jimin, thank you very much" she said standing up

"Thank you" I emphasized, wrapping my arms around her soft body giving her a comforting hug.

"But as lovely as all that is, this is my favorite of them all" she cheesed, showing all her teeth as she ditched me for the giant 7-foot tall, stuffed teddy bed, snuggling into it as if it was her bed

(This is for size reference)

"I already knew that" Ma-ri hummed in content "Congratulations on your new job too, I'm happy for you"

"Thank you Jiminie, now help me up, this thing is like comfortable quicksand" I pulled her up, holding onto her hand

"I have one last surprise for you"

"Damn, you were down bad" she teased but followed me anyway

"You avoided and ignored me for two whole days, two and a half if you include the day you and Joon got back. I did what I had to do. Sit here and close your eyes" She parked herself on a stool at the counter and covered her eyes with her hands "Ready?"

"Ready" I pulled the caked and cake pops out the fridge and grabbed a fork from the utensils draw then set it all in front of her

"Okay, you can look now" Ma-ri's hands fell away, and she blinked at me then looked down.

"Is this triple chocolate cherry!" I nodded "Ohh, you're good Park Jimin", snatching the fork off the counter she stabbed at the decadent dessert, tearing away a large chunk and placing it in her mouth, moaning from the taste. Her eyes closed and she chewed slowly, savoring the bite until it was all gone "You are SO forgiven, oh my god" she groaned taking another bite.

I grinned and stole a cherry from the side she wasn't eating from, gaining an intimidating glare from my actually happy girlfriend. After eating the sweet, red fruit I tied the stem in my mouth and displayed it on my slightly stained tongue with a wink.

"You enjoy your dessert now; I'll have mine later" I said, walking out the kitchen without breaking eye contact and wiggling my tongue between my index and middle fingers.

: Jimin has apologized. Do you think he was sincere? We're the gifts necessary? Would you have accepted them? Did Ma-ri make him sweat enough or should she have held out longer?

I've always wanted a giant teddy bear. I'll get one even if I have to buy it for myself.
