"Hi mom" Yoongi smiled big, showing every tooth he had and a plethora of gums
"Ah Yoongi!" she screamed then attacked him with a hug. I let his hand go so he could properly hug his mother "You need to call more" she fussed and slapped his arm.
I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. A brief moment of sadness washed over me but I quickly pushed it away before either of them could notice.
"Mom this is Ma-ri, our eighth soulmate" he said, making me look at the smiling woman before me with her arms open for a hug.
"Oh my, you're even more gorgeous in person. Call me mom, I'm very happy to finally meet you" she gave me a good squeeze and I wanted to burst into tears. The fact that I haven't hugged my mom is 12 years and never will again suddenly made it self present
"Th-Thank you" I said, clearing my throat and forcing a smile. "I'm happy to be meeting you as well. Yoongi has told me so much about you all" she patted my back and let me go to hug Taehyung
"Hey mama" his boxy smile making his eyes close as he embraced her lovingly "Where's dad?"
"Come in, he prepared lunch" she waved us in. Taehyung walked in with his arm around her shoulder while Yoongi took my hand again
"Everything okay?" He asked me with crinkled eyebrows
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just feeling a little emotional suddenly"
He stopped up from going in and told me "If this is too much for you right now I will tell my family we need to le-"
"Absolutely not! I will be okay, I promise. Sometimes I get a little sad when I see people interact with their moms, just makes me miss mine but I'm okay"
"Aww, I'm sorry but you don't have to hide that. We know that you miss your parents dearly and know that all of our parents will treat you as their own. You are family after all" He said then threw his arm over my shoulder
"I love you" I smiled at him then kissed his cheek as we walked in
"I love you too"
"Ooh it smells like we are right on time" The mere smell of spices and meat made my stomach grumble. I removed my shoes and followed behind Yoongi as we walked towards the kitchen where his dad was stirring the contents of a large pot
"Hey dad, it smells amazing in here" he took a big whiff of the heavenly aroma. His dad pulled the ladle from the pot and set it to the side then turned around with a big smile on his face
"Hey son" they embraced one another, rocking side to side "Good to see you"
"You too" he pulled away and pulled me in front of him "This is Ma-ri, our soulmate"
"Nice to finally meet you" he pulled me in for a bear hug.
"Nice to meet you too Mr. Min, thank you for having me"
"Mr. Min? Sweetheart, call me dad" he laughed while patting my head "You're already bonded to my son and my boys for life, formalities have no place here"
"Okay" I blushed. I didn't know why I am or if I should be surprised by their kindness and immediate acceptance of me.
"Pops, what's for lunch?" Taehyung asked, bumping shoulders with the man of nearly equal height.

"He made a feast, like he's trying to feed the entire Korean army" his mom piped up.
"You know these boys can eat" he shrugged turning off the heat and giving the pot one last stir "Okay, everything is ready"
I offered to help Yoongi's mom set the table but she told me not to move a muscle. I felt awkward doing nothing while everyone else had a task. When she was done she pointed to the seat she wanted me to take which was in the middle of her and Yoongi. She also mentioned her eldest son was joining us for the meal as well. With the table set and the food spreading over it I was excited to eat but we had to wait for his brother, well my brother-in-law to arrive.
A loud grumble from my belly was heard by his mom and I covered it out of embarrassment "Hush, you" I said, looking down at my shirt
"Did these knuckleheads not feed you breakfast?" she chuckled.
"She said she could wait" Taehyung frowned taking his seat across the table from us "And she slept the whole way here"
"I was tired and it was a near four hour drive, what did you expect?" he stuck his tongue out at me so I did it back to him
"Leave her alone Taehyung, you should have packed some snacks or stopped by a convenient store"
"Yeah" I chimed in.
"Oh you forgot about the rest stop?" he smirked. My eyes bulged and my lips folded in, does this man have any shame?
"Hey everyone!" Yoongi trailed behind a slightly taller, slim man that resembled him but not exactly. He greeted his parents with hugs, Taehyung with a pat on the back and me with a handshake. "Nice to meet to Ma-ri"
"You too"
He sat down next to Taehyung, landing him in the middle seat on their side of the table. After a quick thanks for the food we were able to dig in and I couldn't hold back if I wanted to. Not only did the food smell amazing, it was equally as delicious. Nothing beats the taste of homemade food, in my opinion. The freshness of the dumplings, saltiness of the pork and the warmth of the stew all made for a hearty and filling meal that I was all too happy to have been partaking in.
"So Ma-ri, we all saw your television appearances and I have to say I love your fire" Yoongi's mom said
"Oh, umm, yeah I'm not usually like that. I've never really had anyone to be protective of so I didn't even know I could be like that. Not something I plan to make a habit of"
"She deserved it" his brother, Jun-ki, said in between chews "I texted Yoongi-ah almost right after telling him you were impressive"
"His exact words were 'Holy shit, your girl soulmate is fiesty and hot'" Yoongi laughed, exposing his elder "And I agreed"
"Ugh, that's going to haunt me forever
"Maybe but I think it will be advantageous for you, people will think twice before speaking to you and about you. I'm sure no one else wants to be embarrassed like that on international television" His dad explained. I wanted him to be right, hopeful that people would remember that moment and leave me alone.
"What do you do for work Ma-ri?" his mother asked while getting more stew

"I'm, well I was, a book editor. I have not been able to get a job since I moved back but I'm sure something will pop for me eventually"
"You plan to go back to work?" Tae asked, looking as if the news was new to him
"Well, yeah. That was always my plan but things were pretty hectic so I chilled for a bit but I fully intended on getting back to work as soon as I can" I replied before stuffing my mouth with a dumpling
"That sounds boring, no offense to you, but reading books all day? Just thinking about it makes me sleepy" Jun-ki fakes as if he's falling asleep at the table. I just giggled
"I love books so it's the perfect job for me. I love reading, I tried to dabble in writing before but I'm not as good at writing my own content as I am at recognizing the brilliance in someone else's. I don't just read books and manuscripts but I help make good stories great. My work is also my passion so it doesn't feel like a burden"
"Wow, I've never heard you speak about your profession like that." Yoongi grinned "I definitely relate to everything you just said but, obviously, from a musical standpoint"
"Well I guess it would be selfish of me to not want you to work" Tae frowned "Can you at least consider a job that allows you to work remotely? I'm spoiled with having you so close and accessible all the time"
"I'll think about it" I teased "But yeah, my work is cool to me"
"That's great, not many people actually love what they do or get the chance to do what they truly love. I know you'll be get a job soon" Dad nodded in agreement
"Thank you. The food was wonderful by the way, I loved everything" I said, patting my stomach that was nice and full.
"Glad you enjoyed it, there is plenty more" he offered
"Oh no, I cannot eat another bite right now but if I could take some home I would be so grateful"
"Of course you can. I'll make you a nice to-go bag" Mom nearly jumped up to start packing up the food "Since my son and your boyfriends don't feed you" she said smacking his shoulder
"Mom!" Yoongi shouted "Who said we don't feed you?" he frowned looking at me with squinted eyes
"Hm? You know, I think I hear your mom calling me. Coming!" I got out of the room as quickly as I could hearing them laugh as I escaped.
In the kitchen with his mom I helped her pack up most of the leftovers, creating a separate bag for Jun-ki to take some as well. As we were finishing up she asked me a question.
"Ma-ri, I don't mean to pry but Yoongi told me you lost your mother as a teenager, can I ask what happened?" I should have expected the topic of my parents to come up but I was wishing it would be during another visit
"Uh, sure" I became nervous all of a sudden "My-my mom took her life"
"Oh honey, I'm so sorry" next thing I felt were her arms engulfing me in a motherly hug. "I hope with time you'll come to think of me and the rest of the boy's moms and dads as your own. Not like replacements but as bonus parents, I can't imagine how that must have been for you but I hope you'll grow comfortable enough with us to rely on and trust us to be there for you as a friend and a mom"
"Thank you" I whispered with a shaky breath. I tried to hold in my emotions but a few stray tears made trails down my cheeks. She held me a minute longer then released me, wiping my tears away with her thumbs
"Welcome to the family my beautiful daughter" I gave her a smile and
"Hey baby, is everything alright in here?" Tae popped his head in
"Yeah I'm good, thanks for checking on me. "
"You go it" he winked and disappeared
Throughout the day I got to know Yoongi's immediate family really well. His mom and I really hit it off and it made me wonder if meeting all of their families would go so smoothly. Jun-ki and I had a good conversation, I even recommended some books I thought he would like. Their dad was pretty funny, an avid soccer fan that gave me a detailed history of its impact in South Korea. I now know more about the sport than I ever needed or wanted to know but he is a nice man that loves his family dearly.
As the day wound down, Jun-ki went home and we all sat in the living room watching tv. I was sitting on the floor with a blanket, nestled between Yoongi's legs. Every now and then he planted sneaky kisses on my cheeks. Tae sat beside him with his head laid on his shoulder and their fingers intertwined. Finally night fell and I was getting sleepy and my butt was starting to hurt from sitting on the floor for so long. I yawned and relaxed into Yoongi more
"Tired?" he asked in low voice to which I nodded affirmatively "We can go to bed"
"If you're not tired, don't go just because of me"
"He's almost asleep too" he said, moving his shoulder slightly, causing Taehyung to groan, then exhale as he settled again "Mom, dad, we are going to call it a night"
"Already, it's not even ten yet?" his dad questioned checking his wrist watch
"My loves are sleepy and tired and I should take advantage of being able to go to sleep at a reasonable hour while I can"
"Goodnight" I yawned again "Excuse me."
"Night mom, night dad" Tae grumbled then shuffled towards the back where the bedrooms were.
Taehyung decided to sleep in Jun-ki's old room since Yoongi's bed would barely fit two people let alone three. I changed into one of his oversized t-shirts and a pair of cropped pajama bottoms while he donned boxers and a long sleeve t-shirt. We got situated in the bed, almost morphing into one body to fit.
"I really don't remember my bed being this small"
"I'm too thick for this"
"Yes you are" his big hand palms my butt cheeks and squeezes causing me to laugh "Today went well"
"It really did. Your parent's and brother are so down to earth and welcoming, I hope everyone's parents respond to me the same way"
"They will, love. Don't let that worry you." With both of his arms wrapped around me I snuggled into him and nestled my leg between him
"" he chuckled
