《Providence [Naruto Fan Fiction]》Chapter 9

This is the most humiliating D-rank mission for a ninja. Baby-fucking-sitting. Great, we're going to gain something good about this, just great! Just where the fuck is this baby's parents? Sigh. I looked at the infant who's now looking back at me as if he understood that I'm against with this mission. Yeah, child, this is irritation.
Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke were out of the house to take care of the dogs and have them walk and poo-poo outside the compound. Great, while Kakashi, he's probably out, reading his favorite book while sitting pretty on a branch of a tree. I lifted the baby up when I heard him cry. He's grumpy – perhaps he's hungry? So, I made him a milk. I carry him on my arms and made his back touch my lap before feeding him his bottled milk.
"Child, don't you dare become a ninja in the future, huh?" I talked to him. He just looked at me. I turned my face sideways when I felt Kakashi's presence beside me. "And why is that, Kashina? Hmmm?" He asked with his famous closed-eye smile. He heard me talking to this child. I just shrug my shoulders on him – didn't bother to answer. "Just why the hell I'm taking care of this child, Kakashi-nii? I want to take care of the dogs." I pouted. Well, I enjoy taking care of this kiddo. He isn't just a toddler who'll go all out and destroy everything. He is calm even though I'm a stranger to him although whenever he's hungry, he's crying. "Or just summon Pakkun, Kakashi-niisan" I overjoyed.
But he shook his head on me, disagreeing. "Pakkun isn't a dog for entertainment, Kashina." He scolded. Phew, what a drag, besides, pakkun and I were buddies! Kakashi's being a dork, yet again. "Arara, you're thinking of something rude about me, ehh?" I ignored him. He's Hatake Kakashi for reason, he can easily read me whenever were in this kind of situation. I heard him sigh so, I looked at him. "After this mission later, meet me after the report, we'll grab some ramen and dango." Well, this is something I've been waiting for! Whenever I ask for pakkun and he disagreed – this is the dead end! FREE FOOD!
"All right, I'll stop being grumpy." I said wearing my most shit eating grin. He just tapped my head to scold me before facing the toddler. Then few hours have past, those idiots came back – messy. I guess, Naruto being eccentric plus those bulldogs, combined. The three of them took a rest for an hour while waiting for the owner of the house – the parent of this child.
After the mission, both Kakashi and I went to the Hokage office to report while the three dorks, wait, what did happen next after this mission in the series? Was it the meeting with the sand kids? Whatever, I'll check them out later. First things first, the report.
"I see, you have finished the mission, ehh? Good job, team 7." He complimented while looking at the written report that I made because Kakashi forced me to do so! He's so troublesome. "Thank you for the compliments, Lord Third." Damn, I'm getting excited over our training. After the meeting with the sand kids – the recommendation of Hatake Kakashi is up! Then my Training! Damn, I'm excited. It's an honor to be trained by the great Lord Third.
"We'll be going now, Lord Hokage." Kakashi stated after our short discussion but Lord Hokage gestured us to wait for a while. He went to the cabinet inside his office to grab 4 scrolls which made me look confused for a bit. "This is the B-class techniques for Lightning, Earth, Water and Fire. If you're able to perform one of each release – I'll train you before the Chunnin exams begin." After saying that he laughed. "Sorry, I spoiled the fun." No, you didn't. I just know that Kakashi will recommend our team to join the exam. "You may go, just come to me if you're done learning those technique"

"But Lord Third, those are B-class. She doesn't have enough time to train and learn those before the Chunnin exam-." Kakashi was cut off by the Lord Thirds chuckle. "She asked me, the Hokage of the Leaf, it's for me to test if she's capable of being my student for a meantime, Kakashi. Do you understand that?" That made Kakashi shut up. Well, I understand his reasoning, no need for Kakashi to worry since I just need to utter those names and the viola. I'll be needing to perform them privately so I wouldn't be surprised about the technique. As of now, I need to find the good spot to train. I'm sure the training ground 55 is occupied since it's for the genin teams/individual ground. Training ground 1 is highly restricted since it's for the Hokage only. Sigh.
"I won't disappoint you, Lord Third." And then I bowed my head to acknowledge his challenge. This old man is underestimating me! Well, I still love him as my grandfather so, I'll let it slide. "Let's go, Kakashi-niisan. We're going now, Lord Third." And then we said our goodbye and went outside the Hokage Tower.
Kakashi crossed his arms on me before looking at me with his irritated eyes. "Woah, woah, Kakashi-niisan, I didn't know that you can lose your cool." I laughed nervously. "I'll be fine, anyway, let's go grab some lunch! I'm hungry and I know you're too!" I told him before grabbing a hold on his vest to drag him. As we reached the dango shop, we ordered for two and take it out before deciding to go to the Ichiraku Ramen Shop for our lunch. Kakashi's still mad about me accepting the challenge from the Lord third.
"You know nii-san, stop being a worrywart! I'll be fine! I'm a Nara and Hatake Kakashi's student! Don't underestimate me!" I scolded him. He's being worrywart for no reason. He should be worry about Sasuke by now since Orochimaru the pedophile's coming to give him a hickey. That dumbass. "Who says I'm worried about you." Yeah, that's definitely the Kakashi I know. I shrug my shoulder on him before making a face. We both order our favorite Miso Ramen with so much fishcake for me since I'm a bit addicted to that.
After eating, Kakashi left to finish something that I didn't bother to know. Probably Jonin business and our team's recommendation. I teleported to where Naruto and Sakura are – well, to be surprised that Kankuro from the Sand Village is gripping tightly on Konohamaru's collar. Temari on the other hand wasn't doing anything to stop this idiot so, I did. I gripped on his arm that holds on Konohamaru's collar. I tighten my grip until I heard his screams and made him let go of Konohamaru's collar.
"Bitch!" He hissed and I smirked on him. I'm now feeling Gaara's presence even though it's faint since he's suppressing his chakra and presence. What a drag. "You should know that this kid is the grandson of the Hokage. I'm sure you don't want to start a war right now, right here, right?" I told him with a cold voice. It made him sweat drop for a moment until he regains his composure.
I faced Konohamaru who's now shaking in fear. "Naruto take him for a while. Don't worry about them, they're from the Sand Village and they're allies of our Village. No need to fear." I explained to them.
"Oho, you're quite knowledgeable, Lady." Temari said so I faced her and gave her a very meaningful smile. It contains a threat and danger since they're going to invade our village with the help of that fucking Orochimaru. "Well, knowledge is quite a weapon." And then I winked on her.

"Kankuro, apologized to them. You're embarrassing our village." And here's the Gaara of the Sand making his own entrance by hanging himself upside down to the tree. Wow, what a cool red headed maniac. Well, I admit that I have a thing on him especially when he became the Kazekage. I'm not lying, he's so handsome! Kyaaa! I want to hug him right now! He's being cute although he's a bloodlust maniac at this timeline. Why do I feel like I'm cheating with Itachi?! T^T
"B-but Gaara, they started it first!" Kankuro retorted only to be threthen by Gaara. "Apologize or I'll kill you!" He utters in a cold and low voice. Kankuro apologized half-heartedly since it was forced but yeah, we, Leaf villagers were understanding. I didn't leave Gaara's gaze until he met mine. His cyan colored eyes met my eyes and it feel so majestic, connecting his eyes and mine together was like the feeling that I felt with Itachi before. I wasn't ready to break our eye contact when I heard Sakura's dumb remarks about Temari being here.
Yeah, she's dumb, pardon me Temari. "Sorry about her, she didn't know about you guys participating Chunnin Exams. Pardon her." And then Sakura looked down, feeling defeated. "I'm sorry about Naruto too, they're a bit eccentric but they're good kids. Anyway, I'm Nara Kashina. Nice to meet you, Sand people." And then I bowed. Temari and Kankuro also bowed their head on me to acknowledge each other. "I'm Temari, this is Kankuro and that's our little brother, Gaara." She introduced and I smiled to them, especially to him, Gaara.
"You can get down now, Sasuke. Don't think of throwing that stone to them, they're our guest." I spoke. And Sakura being Sakura, she squeals. Goddamn, is that all she can do? I mentally facepalm. "Tch." Is all he can say before getting his ass down to level us.
"Let's go, Temari, Kankuro. We didn't come here to play." Gaara said with his deep voice. They're about to leave when Sasuke adopted Sakura's dumb thinking. "Who are you?" He asked in a serious manner. "Me?" Temari asked. "No, the one with a gourd." He's referring to Gaara. With that, little by little, his sands coming out of his gourd because of Sasuke's attitude. He's being an idiot right now, he didn't know how his bloodlust can do yet he's being a dumb in front of a stranger. Arrogance, Uchiha thing. Just why did Itachi didn't teach this kid about this? Hays.
"Gaara of the Sand, you, and you?" Gaara answered and then asked me and Sasuke. "I'm Uchiha Sasuke." Sasuke answered, note the hint of being proud as an Uchiha. "Nara Kashina" I told him without breaking my eye contact until Naruto spoke. "I guess you're dying to know my name, huh?" He asked proudly, note the sarcasm on his voice. Oh my God, I'm surrounded by these dumbasses.
"I could care less about you, let's go." BOOM!
Gaara has no chill! He and Iruka can make a tandem of brushing Naruto's ass off! They got no chill, aren't they? And before the Sand Sibling make their way out of our sight. Gaara's eyes and I met again before fleeing away. I'm hundred percent sure that my heart skipped a bit! Oh, My God! I'll definitely tell Kakashi about this! I'm so flustered.
I sighed. "Next time, don't be too harsh guys. Be humble, always. Arrogance won't lead you to something pleasant." I scolded them before I decided to disappeared on their sight. They're acting like a child. Well, they shouldn't! they're a ninja for Pete's sake! What they did earlier is a very bad idea! I just happen to stop Sasuke for throwing his stone on Kankuro. They're difficult to handle, ehh?
As soon as the night took over the light. I went outside the house and didn't let mom and dad know that I left. I need to find Gaara, he's probably somewhere since he cannot sleep because of Shukaku. That damn Tanuki. I widen my senses when I reached the Academy's rooftop. The academy is one of the highest building in Leaf so it's easy for me to spot Gaara if ever he decided to place himself in the roof.
"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" I told him as I found him sitting on the roof near the town. His sand became alert because of my presence but I didn't budge. I just sat there beside him and didn't bother his sands lurking around me. I tilt my head upside to look at the moon above me, just like the other day, I started to mesmerize its beauty. If only I was born with Sharingan, I can record the beauty of the moon above me. "Shukaku must have giving you a lot of pain, isn't he?" I told him without taking my eyes off the moon. He seems frozen because of my statement. Well, it's not everyday thing for him that someone will come sit with him without killing intent and tell him that Shukaku is hurting him so much.
"h-how d-did you know?" The crack on his voice made my heart sting. This is the future Kazekage of the Land of the Wind. He may become successful in the future but... seeing him like this, unable to sleep and having nightmares and insomnia. I can't. "I just know." I told him. I can feel my eyes burning, damn it. "It must've hurt, nee, Gaara? It... must have hurt you so... much." I can't hold it anymore. I can't hold my tears anymore. I can't hold my pain anymore. I manage to save Naruto but I... I can't even save Gaara from his dark childhood.
"Y-you're n-not s-scared?" He asked. His KI suddenly went off as well his sands earlier, they went back inside his gourd. I wiped my tears and let out a concern smile to him. "Why would I? You must be thinking that you're a monster because you have Shukaku inside you. But you're not, I'm sure you still have your humanity." It's not my job to talk to him like this, it's Naruto's but I don't want him to feel alone. "For now, Gaara, let's just continue our moon-watching. Sorry for crying earlier and sorry about Shukaku, he's a bit eccentric you know? He didn't want to be in cage. In the first place, they shouldn't. All of the tailed beast shouldn't." And then we both went in silence. We let the silence roared between us.
It wasn't awkward. It was a very comforting silence. Gaara manage to calm down so we continued mesmerizing the moon until we satisfy ourselves.
"Good luck on the Chunnin exams, Gaara. Hope you'll pass. I'll see you again tomorrow evening, I'll be with you for the time being." I... I don't want you to feel alone. "Why are you doing this?" He asked stoically. I gave him my sweetest smile before patting his back. "Because I don't want you to feel lonely anymore. I'm sorry that I was born here in the Leaf and not on the Sand but what done is done. For now, I'll be with you." I told him. Our gaze met again so I had to bit my lower lip to stop myself from hugging him. It's rude.
"I'm going now, it's already 4:00 AM, I should catch some sleep." Besides I need to try those scrolls before meeting Lord Third. Hays, it'll gonna be a long day. Well, as long as I get the chance to meet Gaara tomorrow evening. "Take care." is the last thing I said before disappearing in front of him.
As soon as I arrived home, I immediately laid down my body and let my consciousness be swallowed.
