《Breathe Princess (Daryl Dixon Love Story)》Chapter Twenty Nine

''You never said. How the hell did you get in here in the first place?'' One of the prisoners spoke up as we stepped out on the field. I had the balls to make a decision that i would tag along with Daryl, Rick and T-dog. Even with Daryl disagreement, i wasn't going to stay back there because one i don't think i'm going to be helping around as much as i think i would right now plus Carol was there so that was going to get my mood messed up. And like i said, i was willing to prove my point to Daryl; that he couldn't control me anymore.
''Cut a hole in that fence over there by the guard tower'' Daryl pointed out making one of them chuckle.
''That easy, huh?''
''Where there's a will, there's a way'' Daryl quoted making me look at him for a moment before turning away ''Easy for you to say''
''So what is this like a disease?'' The big guy asked poking one of the workers.
''Yeah we're all infected'' I said quietly chewing the inside of my mouth. shivers running down my spine.
''What do you mean, infected? Like AIDS or something?'' The southern one questioned.
''If I was to kill you, shoot an arrow in your chest, you come back as one of these things. It's gonna happen to all of us'' Daryl responded making me frown. This is one of the fears i have that i would never admit to anyone, death.Even though i came close to it in past experiences the emptiness and idea of just not existing or feeling anything anymore is scary, getting separated from your family and loved ones and not being able to be enjoy the joyful and happy moments with them anymore is heart breaking. And when you die in the world like this, getting turned into those flesh eating monsters? That experience would be a lot worse than having to do it in a normal world.
''Where do you come from?'' The leader of their ground asked stepping closer to Rick.
''Atlanta''
''Where you headed?'' He questioned making me glare at him.
''For now, nowhere'' Rick replied.
''I guess you could take that area down there near the water. Should be comfortable'' He suggested making me raise my eyebrows.
''We're using that field for crops'' Rick stated trying to keep his cool.
''We'll help you move your gear out''
''That won't be necessary. We took out these walkers, this prison is ours'' He shot.
''You snatched the locks off our doors'' One of them jumped in standing beside his leader.
''We'll give you new locks'' I reasoned putting my hands on my hips.
''This is our prison. We were here first'' He argued taking a look around him.
''Locked in the broom closet?'' Rick laughed ''We took it, set you free, it's ours we spilled blood.''
''We're moving back into our cell block'' He stated making his point clear ''You'll have to get your own''.
''It is mine. I've still got personal artifacts in there, that's about as mine as it gets!''
My breath hitch as he suddenly pulls out a gun making both Daryl and i react pulling out his crossbow and my gun aiming it at them.
''Whoa, whoa, whoa, maybe let's try to make this work out so everybody wins'' The southern one suggested making me chew the inside of my mouth of nervousness.

''I don't see that happening'' The leader shot making Rick agree.
''There are other cell blocks'' I spoke out taking a deep breath my gun still raised.
''Or you could leave. Try your luck out on the road'' Daryl growled from beside me.
''If these pussies can do all this, the least we can do is take out another cell block'' He spat ''With what?'' The other big guy spoke up.
''Atlanta here will spot us some real weapons. Won't you boss?''
''How stocked is that cafeteria? Must have plenty of food, five guys lasting almost a year?'' Rick asked.
''It sure as hell don't look like anybody's been starving'' Daryl put it.
''There's only a little left'' The leader answered tilting his head to the side.
''We'll take half. In exchange, we'll help clear out a cell block'' Rick offered making the small guy butt in ''Didn't you hear him? There's only a little left''
''Bet you've got more food than you've got choices. You pay, we'll play. We'll clear out a block for you, then you keep to it'' Rick comforted making him nod.
''Well, let's be clear. If we see you out here, anywhere near our people, if I so much as even catch a whiff of your scent, I will kill you'' Rick announced making the leader look at me, scanning me from head to toe. I put my gun down, grabbing a hold of Daryl's vest hiding behind him using him once again as a human shield. He finally tore his eyes off of me
''Deal''
We have gotten half of our promised food back in the cell clock, Daryl ordered me to stay back but i simply ignored him because i still want to prove my point to him. I walked away towards Rick and told him that i was going and i pretty much made that clear to Daryl that i was going, now he can go kiss Carol's ass.
''Why do I need this?'' The leader said picking up one of the weapons ''When i have this?'' He picks up a gun.
''You don't fire guns. Not unless your back's up against the wall. Noise attracts them, really riles them up'' Daryl's deep voice answered him making him put them down.
''We'll go in two by two. Daryl will run point with T take Annora too, I'll bring up the rear with you (points at the little guy). Stay tight, hold formation, no matter how close the walkers get. Anyone breaks ranks, we could all go down, anyone runs off, they could get mistaken for a walker, end up with an axe to the head'' Rick explained earning a scoff from someone.
''And that's where you aim. These things only go down with a head shot'' Daryl added in tugging of his crossbow.
''Ain't gotta tell us how to take out a man'' The leader didn't seem that pleased with what he was being taught.
''They ain't men. They're something else'' T-dog said.
''Just remember, go for the brain''
''It's coming'' One of the men yelled making Daryl shush him. Two walkers step in, Daryl started counting. He reached number two when all of a sudden the prisoners all run towards them, screaming, trash talking and beat them down without killing them. Us four stood there watching as the idiot prisoners who clearly have a listening problem failing to kill walkers.

Daryl shoots an arrow into the walkers head as soon as we started moving along ''It's gotta be the brain, not the stomach, not the heart, the brain''
I grabbed one of the walker by it's collar stabbing it in it's head after my mind had to process what i was doing. It was definitely a slow process for me but i got the hang of it. I didn't do great since Rick and Daryl where covering my ass at times but i did good.
I jumped up as i suddenly heard gun shots, Daryl and T-dog finished the last three remaining walkers. We all headed back as i saw their leader staring right into Rick's soul. We all watched as the big guy touched his shoulder and revealed down his blooded hand.
''I'm telling you! I don't feel anything, it's just a scratch'' He said standing up tall.
''I'm sorry man'' Rick frowned looking down ''I can keep fighting''
''You cut that old guy's leg off to save his life'' The little guy said.
''Look at where the bite is'' I said pointing to his shoulder.
''Guys, I'm fine!! Just... I'm fine. Look, look at me, I'm not changing into one of those things'' He breathed in making me shake my head and back away beside Daryl.
''We gotta do something! Why are you just standing there, we gotta save him''
''There's nothing we can do'' Rick barked.
''Son of a bitch'' I see the leader in the corner of my eyes walking towards him, he all of a sudden start to stab in over and over again making me cringe in disgust. He looks up face all bloody and starts walking away.
''You see the look on his face?'' Daryl asked Rick as we continued walking.
''He makes one move'' Rick stopped what he was going to say next.
''Just give me a signal'' Daryl nodded to Rick as we continued walking.
We arrived in the a room which was the entrance of the cell block that had to set of doors and which the prisoners would be living in. Daryl throws out the keys on the ground to the leader, i sarcastically chuckled at Daryl's polite manners.
''I ain't opening that'' He refused making me sigh putting my once raised knife down.
''Yes, you are. If you want this cell block, you're gonna open that door. Just the one, not both of them. Because we need to control this'' Rick commanded making him sigh. He picked up the key putting it in.
''You bitches ready?'' He called making me roll my eyes, he tried to open the door but it wouldn't. ''I got it'' He took a break in before opening both door making me panic as more walkers start to appear.
''I said one door'' Rick yelled anger seeping into his voice.
''Shit happens'' He yelled back as we tried fighting off the walkers.
''Annora'' Daryl yelled making me look back as i see this walker comes flying towards me. I fell down feeling like this scene happened a thousand times already. Daryl stabs the walker in the head, and helps me up but damn i wish that didn't happen.
I felt someone grab me by my waist and put me in a headlock with a knife pressing on my face. I felt the knife go deeper into my cheek, i held on to my tears refusing to let tears of pain to fall down but i couldn't help it but let them fall.
Daryl stood in front of me pointing his crossbow towards his head ''Let her go''
''Let her go'' He repeated, his accent thicker than usual. He sounded angry , so mad that i think he was going to burst out in any moment. Everyone was now pointing guns and weapons, i moved my head groaning in pain as the knife dug deeper. Daryl glared at him ready to pull the trigger, the man pushed my away grabbing my arm taking the knife slicing it on my wrist. I fell on the ground holding my wrist going in shock mode as i saw rainfall of blood spilling out on my clothes and on the floor and it suddenly felt like my heart froze. Everything was blurry for a while before i heard Rick yelling. I looked at the leaders body on the ground and then at the scene in front of me.
''T-dog take her back'' That's what i heard before i froze looking down on my bloody wrist making me panic as more blood spill out. I felt myself being picked up and being run away with. ''Guys open up'' T-dog called slamming on the bars.
''What happened?'' Lori panicked as they rushed me to my cell, he sat me down and i just stared into space having a hard time processing what's was going on.
I felt this sting making me jump up at the sudden pain ''It's okay, you'll be fine''.
Carol said making me chew the inside of mouth as she continued treating my cut on my wrist and face. I was slowly recovering from the shock i just went through. And her i am, sitting down staring at Carol's face trying to keep my anger in and not loose it She bandaged my wrist and got up to leave ''You''ll be okay, take these and you'll feel good in no time'' She smiled at me handing me pain killers making me give her a fake smile back.
I took the pills before i stripped down out of my bloody clothes sighing regretting my decision on going. I wore this , not bothering to wear pants on since i was huge on me.
''What do you want Daryl'' I mumbled as i finished taking the rest of my medication feeling someone watch me. There was no reply, i huffed out as i turned out meeting his eyes.
''What do you-'' He crashed his lips on mine adding so much force, pulling me closer by my waist. I kissed back with the same force as he did gripping tightly on his hair.
''Next time when i say no, that should be clear to you. You're not ready to go out there not right now in the state you are in I mean it Annora'' He said making me nod and pull away from him.
''I'm still mad at you'' I mumbled walking away from him
.
He grabbed me by my waist, pulling our bodies closer. He caressed my cheek to where the cut was crashing his lips on my mine giving me the best kiss i have ever had. I kissed back wrapping my good arm around his neck enjoying this moment and making me forget why we fought at the first place.
