After the day was over, I went to meet up with Namjoon before he had to stay after for detention.
I knew he wouldn't be too happy there with Jay for hours but there wasn't really much he could do about that now.
At least there would be a teacher there to watch them in case something happened. That would probably be the only thing that kept them from fighting again.
"Hey." I say once Namjoon finally gets to me. "Hey." He says, seeming a little annoyed. I wasn't sure if it was because of the detention or what.
"You okay?" I ask, a bit worried. "Yeah, it's just Brittany." he starts and I instantly feel a little jealous.
"What happened?" I ask, fearing the worst. "She came into the bathroom while I was in there and tried to make a move. Of course, I shut that shit down but the fact that she still thinks she has a chance baffles me."
"That's annoying." I say, feeling irritated that she was still trying to make moves on him knowing he was with me. Of course, I figured that wouldn't stop her, but it was still irritating.
"I have to get in there but once it's over I'll text you, alright." Namjoon says as he leans down and pecks my lips before heading into detention. I sigh before I make my way out of the building to go home.
All I could do now was hope detention goes well and doesn't get him another one.
-----
As soon as I walked into the classroom I instantly scoffed as I saw both Brittany and Jay. Of course, they were both here.
That was just my luck.
I slid into a seat across the room so I wasn't near them then I pulled out my homework, using this as the perfect time to get it done.

Just as I pulled out my paper, I hear the two of them laughing then getting shushed by the teacher. That didn't stop them though.
I glanced over to see them looking at me and whispering. As much as I wanted to say something I wasn't going to let them get the better of me.
Plus, I didn't want another detention so I would stay silent and ignore them. Besides, they just wanted to get a rise out of me and it wasn't going to happen.
After multiple hours it was finally time to go home. I tried to gather my things up slowly so they would leave before me but of course they waited around.
I figured this would happen and I was right. I knew Jay wasn't going to stop and he really was going to make my life a living hell.
As I finished gathering my things I stood up and headed out, the two of them trailing behind me talking to one another in a whisper.
I ignored them as I made my way out to my car. Of course, the two of them followed right over to me.
"Going home? You don't want to come have some fun with us?" Brittany asks as she pushes herself between me and my car door, blocking me from getting inside.
"No thanks, move." I say but she doesn't. "Oh come on, you don't wanna both go at her, Joon?" Jay says and I scrunch my nose in disgust.
"Definitely not." I say and Jay laughs. "Why not, you've done it alone why not together." He says and I grit my teeth, beginning to get annoyed.
"Get the fuck out of my way, Brittany come on." I huff, taking every ounce of patience I had not to just push her out of my way.

"He's trying to get home to that little virgin of his. Still haven't gotten any yet, huh. Explains why you're so grouchy." Jay laughs as he leans against the back of my car.
I bawl my fists up, taking everything I had not to pounce at him again. He really knew how to strike a nerve. He knew anything he said about Y/n would make me angry and that's exactly why he was doing it.
"It's too bad really. I was hoping I'd be the one to hit it first but props to you, I guess. Come on, Brit, Let's go." Jay says as he flicks his finger, causing her to obey straight away.
Once the two of them are out of sight I let out a loud groan as I kick my car in anger. My blood was boiling at his comments.
The thought of Jay ever even laying a finger on y/n disgusted me. I would kill him if he ever did.
Now very annoyed, I head home, knowing a shower and being alone would help me relax. I would text y/n once I calmed down so that I didn't take my anger out on her in any way.
Upon getting home I instantly hear the sound of Leah and her boyfriend laughing. They were always so loud when they were together but I guess as long as they were having fun it didn't matter.
I set my bag down in my room then went to take a shower. I didn't stay in there long so once I finished up, I went downstairs to grab something to eat.
As I got downstairs, I was shocked to see my mom sitting at the table and a very excited Leah beside her. Ki-hyun was sitting at the table as well but he looked very nervous.
"You're home." I say happily as I go to hug her. "I heard the news, I'm so happy." My mom says with a smile from ear to ear.
"What news?" I ask as I look over at Leah who's also grinning widely. "That you're dating Y/n! She's liked you since you were kids you know." My mom grins and I feel my cheeks heat a little.
My mom had always loved Y/n and multiple times in my life I had heard my mom talk to Y/n's parents about how she wanted me to date Y/n and how cute we would be together.
"Where is she? You should invite her over I want to see you two together." My mother smiles as she and Leah giggle together.
"I can call her." I say and she's fast to say okay. I pull out my phone as my mom watches eagerly. After a few rings Y/n picks up.
"Hey." She says and I can hear the smile in her voice. "Hey my mom is home and she wants to see you. Can you come over?" I ask as I glance over at my mom who's waiting for her answer.
"Of course, I can. I'll be there soon." Y/n says, and we say our goodbyes before I hang up.
"I'm so happy for you, son. I do have to ask though, you two are being safe right?" My mom asks, her words serious.
I instantly knew what she meant and I felt myself becoming flustered. Shaking my head, I let out a breath.
It was going to be a long night.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

File under: sky pirates, guild level-ups, and true companions (nakama) The problem isn't her, it's her folks. Seren is tired of living a lonely life on the island, but every time she brings up the lack of community to her parents, they tell her that it's better that way. Better not to have anyone else around. Better to have dad-vetted "friends" in touch only by mail. Better to not go near the transportation area and to report anything "strange." And she tries. She really does. When it becomes crystal clear that nothing will change, the lure of far off horizons is louder than ever. The last straw is when an attempt to abide by the rules fails and even small pleasures are taken from her. Opportunity knocks and she throws open the door, determined to prove that she can take care of herself. Too bad the world is just as determined to prove otherwise. (Story is aiming for PG-13 levels of content. Tagged with Profanity & Gore just to be safe.) (weekly update at Friday midnight PST / Saturday 4pm JST)
