*Thomas pov*
I woke up this morning and again mom's not, here again, so I just got up and head to the roof and watch the sunrise. I think about yesterday and I never show my feeling to anyone I feel like a weight was lifted off of me.
*Flashback*
Don and I told our survival stories, we try to talk about something else to lighten the mood it eventually it did, we talk about stories before the outbreaks and play games, we ate dinner before I have to go back to my room. when I left Tammy ran up to me and kisses me on the cheek it catches off guard stunning me.
Tammy: Maybe we can hang out sometime in the future.
Me: U-uh y-yeah sure.
Tammy: *giggles*I'll see then.
She ran back to her room I was still stunned by what had happened and never in my life, a girl kisses my cheek.
Me:*blushes*W-Woah.
*Flashback End*
I rub my cheek as I blush thinking of the kiss.
Me: You are something else, Tammy.
I look up to see the beautiful Sunrise.
Me: Beautiful.
I kept looking at it until the high and about to leave until I notice something moving on the ground, I notice figures on the ground.
Me: What?
I grab binoculars from under the pipe looking through getting a clear view of who they are.
Me: Tammy and Andy why are they up early?
I watch them sneak from building to building and then I realize what they are going to do.
Me: You guys are sneaking through the guard post and into the infected zone.
I quickly went to the same pipes grabbing a 1911 pistol.
I check the clip and see the rounds are there before I cock it.
Me: *sigh* I can't believe I'm doing this, and I hope the snipers see them.

*Timeskip*
I sneak past security entering mainland Britain, I sneak from building to building checking my corners even though the infected are all dead, you never know what might be out there. I kept moving to see the old building remembering what was life before the outbreak, I find a scooter with the keys in the ignition and turn it on driving (Just some fact you can't just drive an abandoned car during the apocalypse due to the gas would be bad) it throughout the city passing some buildings burn down, cars packed together creating a blockade, and some wild dogs around. I eventually made it to a street of a neighborhood and I slow down to their old house.
I got off of the bike turning it off, taking out my gun.
Me: *takes the safety off* Ok take it slow.
I walk up to the house I notice the door was open enter the building, I see the living room which no one was there, continue forward to enter an open kitchen and dining room, again no one was there.
Me: Tammy Andy?!
I whispered no hear me, I went into some hallway that downstairs I called out this time a little louder.
Me: Tammy Andy ?!
I hear movement in one of the rooms I slow a broach the first room, I took a deep breath before I rush into the room while aiming my weapon. I hear a gasp and turn to see Tammy with clothes in her hands a surprised look on her face.
Tammy: Thomas, what are you doing?!
Me: Me!! What are you doing here?!
Tammy: To see our house and why do you have a gun!?.
Me: Are you completely mad!!
Tammy: There no infected it's safe.
Me: You don't understand even though the infection is gone but the virus is not one drop of blood or saliva you are done. Animals can carry it.

Our argument was interpreted when we hear yelling upstairs.
Me/Tammy: Andy!!!!
We both run out of the room and to see him running towards us.
Andy: Tammy! Thomas how-
Me: No time for a question let's get out of here.
We run out of the house but-
???: Stop where you are!!!
We see four armed soldiers in a hazard suit with a helicopter above us. I soon realize that we just uncover something and it's bad really bad.
*Timeskip**Third pov.*
Three teens soon return to the green zone but they're in a detain room, three has nothing to is to wait for their release, Tammy is sitting on a bed, Andy laying down, and Thomas put a chair wedging into the door.
Tammy: Thoams, what are you doing?
Thomas: I'm taking precautions so should you.
Andy: There's nothing to be afraid of-
Thomas: Nothing to be afraid of! You found a person!
Tammy: That's our mother!
Thomas: Listen you don't understand, have you ever thought that she might be infected. One BLOOD... ONE SLIVA! It's over for all of us! How would your father feel to hear after survived the outbreak just to find his children are infected!
Both teens look down in shame realizing that this virus is a serious matter and they could have got themselves killed. Thomas looks at and feels down that he yelled at them, they didn't know nor experience the infected.
Thomas: Guys I'm sorry, I-I watch people around me died or turn including my dad and a father figure. I don't want to lose you guys.
The teens look at him with sympathy so they went up to him and hug him as he hugs back.
Tammy: I'm sorry Thomas.
Andy: Yeah we didn't know you feel that way. We're sorry.
Thomas: It's ok, can you forgive me for yelling?
Both: We forgive you.
The three keep hug before hearing a voice clearing thier throat getting thier attention, they broke up the hug to see Andy and Tammy's father and he's not happy.

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!

Living as a Demon
Jonathan was living the life of a normal human male in modern-day society, until he was rudely awakened one night by a summoning circle that ripped him out of his reality and dumped him into a new world filled with magic, demons, and…mouthy young orphan girls?! Now Jonathan must navigate the trials of playing guardian to a preteen, learning to unlock his inner demon, and somehow managing to find a dang pair of pants! Welcome! I'm E.O. Tenkey; thank you for considering Living as a Demon, my third released work here on Royal Road (following Not a Manga and Mr. Familiar)! Let's set some expectations, shall we? • Not much hard profanity (chapter 1 is the exception!)• Human MC! Our protagonist is a bona fide homo sapiens. Which is not to say there won't be demons, demonic powers, and what-have-you, but this isn't some grimdark exploration of the life and times of a nihilistic, amoral killing machine.• Slice of life. My previous works always ended up there, so might as well get ahead of the curve!• Weekly updates, and a completed story: I will post a single chapter per week on Wednesdays until the story is complete (extra chapters are rare, but do happen).
