《Complete // Stiles Stilinski [3]》18

"Still nothing from Scott and Liam," Stiles told us as he re-entered his dad's office.
How stupid and desperate do we have to be to trust Theo? It was Scott's big plan to finding Mason in Theo's murdering hands. Are we really that desperate?
"Are we really sure this is a good idea?" Lydia asked.
"Uh, no," I said and crossed my arms over my chest. "No one thinks this is a good idea."
"But you're trusting Theo, anyway?" Sheriff Stilinski asked.
"I don't trust him." I shook my head.
Stiles sent me an annoyed glare and said, "We're not trusting him, we're using him."
"What if he'd using us?" Lydia made a good point.
"We can never trust him," I said again.
"Well that's probably a givin," Stiles moved his hands in a circular motion. "But, look, we're just trying to cover every place Mason could show up. Malia and Braeden are at Scott's house."
"Melissa's got the hospital," Sheriff nodded.
"Hayden and Corey are at the school," Lydia confirmed.
"Somebody's gotta find him," Sheriff Stilinski stated with a shake of the head.
"Let's just hope they find Mason, and not the Beast," I said and took a seat on the couch in his office.
***
"What if I need you over here?" Malia asked through the phone.
"It's still daylight, Malia. The Beast only come's out at night. Beside's, you've got Braeden and all her guns. You also have claws and fangs."
"And what if something goes wrong?" She asks.
I looked behind me and saw Stiles and Lydia talking in Sheriff Stilinski's office.
"I need to be here. I should be keeping Stiles safe," I whispered, even though no one was around me to hear. "And Lydia too," I tried to cover up.
"I thought you were over him," She said. I could just hear the judgment in her voice.
"I am. I'll come over when it get's darker. Just, stay behind the Mountain Ash and I'm sure everything will be fine."
"Nothing at the Hospital." I turned around and saw Stiles leaning his head out with his phone to his ear.
"Nothing at Scott's," I told him. He nodded and went back inside his dad's office.
"And I'm going to lose my mind if I don't get out of this supernatural cage," Malia groaned on the other line.
"The Mountain Ash if there to keep you safe," I heard the click of Breaden's gun. "And Braeden. I'll call you back in about an hour but call me if anything happens."
"Yeah, whatever. Bye," Malia hung up the phone before I could say bye.
I ran my fingers through my hair and say on the bench outside of the office. I heard the door open as smiled as Lydia sat beside me.
"Now it's just a waiting game. Let's hope Scott and Liam find him," Lydia says.
I sighed and leaned my head on her shoulder. She layed her head on top of mine.
Her and I carried small talk. Talking about school and our future. After a while it got silent and we just sat there, enjoying each others company.
I got up to stretch my legs. I looked behind me and saw that Stiles had fallen alseep on the couch in his dad's office. I walked in the open doorway and stared at him.
He's so cute when he sleeps.
Lydia walked in behind me and poked his forehead.

His eyes shot open and he inhaled really deeply, looking around really confused.
"Hmm? What? What happened? Who's dead?" He sat up and saw Lydia and I staring at him. He looked away embarrassed and made room for us to sit with him.
"No one," Lydia replied and sat down beside him, pulling out her phone. "Well, at least not yet."
I did the same and sat beside her, checking to see if I had any texts or calls from anyone.
Lydia sighed and put her phone down. Stiles also sighed and put his back in his pocket. I raised my eyebrow at him. He literally just copied her.
"I'm still trying to figure out why Mason?" Stiles said after a short silence. "I mean, he wasn't even on the genetic chimera list."
"He is now," Melissa said walking into the office. He walked over to the desk and opened up a folder. "Mason was born with twin embolization syndrome."
The three of us stood up and went to go look at the folder.
"You mean fetal resorption?" Lydia asked and Melissa nodded. "He had a vanishing twin in utero?"
How the hell does she know all these things?
Melissa looked at her, "Which account for two sets of DNA."
"Can someone please say it with words that have less than three syllables?" Stiles pleaded. I totally agree with him.
"He ate this twin," Melissa dead-panned.
"Oh, God," Stiles said, his eyes bugging.
"But did it help?" Lydia asked.
"I don't know," Melissa sighed. "But it's just bizarre enough to sound like it might be important, right?"
"It has to help. There has to be something."
Melissa flipped some papers around and showed us the ultrasound of two fetus's. One bigger than the other.
"We should get these to Deaton. He should be able to help," I said and picked up the folder.
"I'll come with." Stiles held up his keys.
I looked at Lydia and she nodded, "I'll be fine."
"Call me if anything happens," I told her and she nodded.
***
"Vanishing twin syndrome..." Deaton read aloud.
"This is part of your expertise, right?" Stiles asked, not sounding so sure of himself.
"Not particularly, no." Deaton spread out some of the pictures on the table examining them. The door of the vet then opened, gathering our attention to the doorway.
My eyes widened as Scott and Liam carried in one of the Dread Doctors.
"What the..." I trailed off.
"He's still alive," Scott said.
Scott and Liam layed him down on the metal table and Deaton examined him. How the hell did they even get one of these guys?
"Can you keep him alive?" Scott asked Deaton.
I kept my distance from the thing, biting my nails nervously. Something is going to happen, I just know it. I mean, look at this thing!
"I'm not sure he technically is alive," Deaton put on gloves and started messing with the clothing of the Doctor.
"Screw keeping him alive. How do we get him to talk?" Liam asked.
"Personally, I don't we utilize torture nearly enough," Stiles said sarcastically.
"Come..." Someone whispered far away. Everyone stopped what they were doing and listened.
"Did you hear that?" Liam asked in a whisper.
"Come to me... To me." The Dread Doctor sat straight up, sending off a high-pitched noise. Everyone stumbled away from him, shielding their ear and trying to block out the noise.

The whole room began to shake, things fell off shelves and tables. The Dread Doctor jumped off the table and began to walk out.
Liam ran straight for him.
"Liam, wait!" Scott yelled.
Without even looking back, the Dread Doctor's arm shot out and he sent out a wave of frequency so strong it sent Liam flying backwards and he got away.
The noise stopped but the shaking didn't. All of the sudden everything that was made of metal flew in in air and magnetized itself to the doors and the lights blew out.
Liam got up and ran for them but Deaton yelled at him to stop. He pointed up to the sparking light. "It's electrified," He said.
"The cane," Scott said quietly.
"What?" Obviously I should have been listening to to the man and the Doctor outside.
"But they took it. They took the cane," said Liam.
***
Scott began to look through Mason's file. "Maybe there's something in here. Something about how he was a genetic chimera."
"Mason had a vanishing twin," Deaton explained.
"Now we've got a vanishing Mason," Stiles said jokingly.
"What's that have to do with him turning into a 250-year-old French guy?" Liam asked. "How does that even happen?"
"Hold on, Scott might have something," Deaton stopped Liam. "Mason's twin wasn't entirely gone. That's what made him a genetic chimera."
"The DNA was still there," Scott figured out.
"Metaphorically speaking, the DNA of Mason could still be inside Sebastien as well."
"How?" I asked.
"Life is energy. Energy doesn't just disappear. The Dread Doctors may have found a way to break the rules of the supernatural world, but there are some rules they simply won't break," Deaton explained.
"So Mason can't just be gone?" Liam questioned.
"Somewhere in Sebastien he has to still exist in some form. A spark of energy, a flicker of memory."
Stiles picked of the Doctor's mask and held in in his hands. "Hang on..." he stopped Deaton. "Liam, you said Mason said something right before he turned."
"He said, 'That's not my name.'" Liam repeated.
"He finally remembered his name," Scott said.
"Damnatio Memoriae," I said.
"That's what they wanted. They wanted Sebastien to remember his name."
"Scott," Deaton looked at him. "You know the myth of what happens when you call a werewolf by its given name?"
Scott nodded, "It turns back to human."
"What does that mean? Someone can just walk up to the Beast, yell Mason's name and turn him back?" I already knew where this was going the second Deaton said 'call'.
"Not someone..." I smirked. "Lydia."
Stiles phone began ringing. He told us it was his dad and he walked away to talk to him privately.
"Lydia is at the Station. We meet there and explain the plan to her. Simple at that right?" I asked Scott and he nodded with a shrug.
"Lydia's hurt. We gotta get to the hospital," Stiles said frantically, putting his phone back in his pocket.
Scott looked at me with wide eyes, "Not simple as that."
***
We all rush into Lydia's dark hospital room. She layed there with her eyes closed and a bandage on her neck. Sebastien slit her throat at the police station. I felt nothing but guilt for leaving her there. I shouldn't have left. I should have stayed to protect her.
I rushed to her side and took a hold of her hand. "I'm so sorry, Lydia," I whispered.
Her eyes slowly fluttered open and her gaze meets mine. Stiles comes and stands next to me.
"Hey. You all right?" He whispered quietly.
Lydia dismisses his question as she tried to speak, "D-did you find something? A solution?"
I nod and grip her hand tightly, a smile forming on my face. "Yeah. It was you. It was you, Lydia."
***
Scott and I help Lydia to sit up as Stiles and Melissa enter the room. "Lydia, this is gonna' have to stay between us since I can get fired for it." Melissa tells Lydia, a syringe in her hand.
"It's a cortisone shot. It's gonna bring the inflammation down," Scott explains.
Lydia nods slightly and takes her hand out for Melissa to inject her with. "Not there," Melissa tells her and pulls back the bandage on her neck making Lydia wince in pain.
"Oh yeah, okay, I'm gonna need to leave," Stiles squints his eyes and he looks like he's gonna throw up.
"You're not going anywhere. Someone hold her hand," Melissa orders and I immediately grabbed onto Lydia's hand. I'm not going anywhere this time. I'm going to be right by her side.
"Okay. Here we go," Melissa says softly and right before she injects the syringe, there's a thud behind us. We all look over and see that Liam had fainted on the ground. Hm.. I expected Stiles. Scott leaves Lydia's side and rushes over to Liam.
"Okay, Lydia. This is gonna hurt like a bitch." Melissa positions the syringe in her neck and then injects the medicine. Lydia squeezes my hand tightly and I wince in pain. Damn I did not know she was this strong.
There's another thud and I look to see that Stiles was no longer standing. Yeah, I called that.
After that Lydia got dressed back into her clothes and we snuck her out of her room without getting caught. Scott and Stiles had to help her walk so she wouldn't fall.
"Shit," I whispered under my breath.
They all stopped and turned around to me.
"I told Malia I would be there with her," I groaned and ran my fingers through my hair.
"Go, we'll be fine," Scott told me and I looked at Lydia.
I shook my head, "I can't."
"Bri..." Lydia said barely above a whisper. "I'm okay."
I clenched my fists together and paced slightly, having a mental battle with myself.
"Fine."
"I'll go with you," Stiles said and grabbed me by the arm, pulling me along with him. "Text me when you find Parrish," he told Scott.
"Hold on," Scott called after us and pulled out something from his pocket.
I pulled my hand out of Stiles's grasp and took the weird object from Scott's hand. It looked like something was rolled up in paper.
"What is this?" I asked him.
"Something I've been working on for a while," Scott said with a smile. "Just make sure Malia gets it."
"Okay, is it a plan B?" Stiles asked.
"It was plan A."
"Plan A never works," Stiles said.
Scott nods, "This one will."
Stiles and I shared a look and then we shrugged at the same time. We ran till we got to the parking lot and jumped into Stiles's jeep.
Stiles revved out onto the road and drove quickly to Scott's.
I unrolled the thing from the paper and held up the small jar to the light so I could get a good look at was inside.
"It's the talons," I said in shock.
"What the-?" He grabbed them from my hand and looked at them.
He pulled up in Scott's driveway and put the jar in his backpack. We ran for the front door and the second he swung it open, he face was met with the front of a gun.
"Oh, damn," he mumbled. Malia jumped out and threw him into the wall, away from her mother. He screamed and fell to the ground.
"Stiles!" I yelled and tried to jump through the doorway but I was pushed backwards.
I looked down and saw a line of Mountain Ash. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me!"
I pushed on it, trying to break through like Scott did that one time. I watched Malia and the Desert Wolf fight.
They both fell into the glass coffee table in the middle of the living room, shards of glass flying everywhere.
Corinne got up and threw Malia into the wall. Stiles grunted as he got up. Him and Corinne stared at each other before he jumped up over the couch but she grabbed a hold of him and threw him right into the glass.
I screamed in frustration as I was trapped on the other side. There was nothing I could do but watch my friends get hurt.
Malia groaned as she got up, her eyes landing on Stiles. "Stiles?"
He turned over onto his back, a huge piece of glass just sticking out of his chest.
"Oh my gosh," I whispered.
Malia sat up and crawled over towards Corinne's gun on the ground. Corinne acted faster and picked it up and aiming it as Malia. She pulls the trigger and shoots Malia in the shoulder.
Malia grunts out in pain and stumbles all the way back to the wall. Corinne looks at me in the doorway and laughs at my inability to help.
"Stay tuned, sweetheart. You're about to watch your best friend die," she laughed out and shot Malia again.
"No, please!" I pleaded.
"It's not the full moon, Malia," Corinne said, following Malia down the hallway. "But you know what? It's close enough."
I looked to my right and saw Stiles sitting up.
"Stiles, the talons," I whispered to him.
"Stop..." Malia whispered out.
Corinne shot her again and dropped the gun to the ground.
Stiles scooted across the floor so he was closer to her. "Malia!" he called out and flung the jar to her. Malia caught it and opened it up.
Corinne's eyes glowed blue as she extended her claws and stabbed them into Malia's stomach. "I wand my power back," she said.
Malia dropped the empty jar, the talons already on her claws. The talons glowed a bright blue as she stabbed them into Corinne and said, "I want my family back."
Malia's eyes glowed blue as she took whatever power Corinne had left. Corinne gasped and her blue eyes faded back to their normal color. Malia pulled out her claws sending Corinne to stumble backwards.
Braeden came out from the kitchen and hit Corinne right in the face with the back of her gun right as she turned around.
Braeden grunted as she put her shotgun on the ground, turning around to me, she broke the seal of Mountain Ash.
I looked back and forth from Malia and Stiles. My eyes met Malia's and she nodded that she was okay.
"Can someone please come and take this gigantic shard of glass out of my chest?" Stiles asked with fear in his voice. "Please?"
I ran to his side and dropped onto my knees.
"Okay when you get this out, it hurts like shit so can you give me your blood or something?" Stiles groaned out.
"Of course," I laughed. "But it's gonna hurt even more as I pull it out so, brace yourself..."
I pinched the glass between my thumb and my pointer finger and pulled it out slowly. Stiles tried to hold back screaming. I think he was trying to look like it didn't hurt and not embarrass himself.
"It's okay if you need to scream," I said to him, almost taking the piece.
"Oh, thank God!" He let out a loud yell as I finally got it out. I placed my other hand that wasn't holding the glass on top of his wound to stop the bleeding.
"Holy shit look at the size of this thing!" I held it up to Braeden and Malia.
"I'm gonna pass out," Stiles eyes began to roll to the back of his head.
"Hey, no, don't pass out." I threw the piece of glass behind me and patted his face to keep him awake.
"Yup, I'm gonna-" I bit into my wrist and placed it to his mouth before he could pass out.
I pulled it away and helped him sit up. I pulled his collar down and watched as the wound began to heal.
"Wow, that's weird. I think I'm still gonna pass out."
***
"Oh, I'm so glad you're all okay!" I looked around at all my friends. They did it.

The Mortal Acts
The Mortal Acts is an epic progression fantasy with a lower focus on training aspects and a great focus on discovering new ways of using powers intelligently. I've always been drawn to stories where characters use their powers creatively to overcome opponents and obstacles, and I think all the possibilities can provide a great playground for twists and turns. It's inspired by a variety of media, including Will Wight's Cradle, Hunter x Hunter, and Bioshock, so if you like the creative power use elements from those, come check it out.
