《Complete // Stiles Stilinski [3]》6

Wanna hear something weird? Like weirder than our usual weirdness that happens around here?
So when I woke up this morning I wasn't in my bed. No. I woke up outside of my apartment, in my car. How I could have possibly slept walked out of my room, down the elevator and outside to my locked car, amazes me. I don't think I've ever been the one to sleep walk.
Lena was even more shocked when I walked back inside and greeted her while walking in the front door, instead of from my bedroom.
She was more terrified than I was. She thought that something could be controlling me again, enough to make me sleep walk. She only thinks that because Stiles sleep-walked when he was being possessed by the Nogitsune. But no one has been sacrificed recently so I really don't think that's the case.
"So something weird happened last night," I said to Lydia and Malia as I followed them through the front doors of the school.
"Weirder than Malia finding this in Tracy's room?" Lydia handed me a small paper back book.
"I dropped you off at home. How'd you get to Tracy's?" I asked while holding the book up to my face. "The Dread Doctors by T.R. McCammon." I gasped and looked at the cover picture. "These are the masked people!"
Lydia took the book from my hands and studied the front of it, then stopped in the middle of the hallway, making me run into her back.
"What is it?" Malia asked.
"I don't know." She began walking again. "There's something about it. Has anyone actually read it yet?"
"Just me. And I didn't understand any of it," Malia replied.
"We should probably all read it," I said.
"Kira's working on that."
We stopped at Malia's locker as she dug through it and got her books and binder out.
"Stiles says he can't find anything on the author. He thinks it's a pen name," Malia explained.
I wondered why Stiles didn't tell me he already knew about the book. But then again, since I wasn't even in my room last night, I didn't hear my phone go off. When I check it this morning I had a miscall from Scott and Kira, then a text from Scott saying that someone was taking the bodies. Also, Lydia and Malia are the first of my friends I've seen or talked to all morning.
Lydia flipped the book over and read aloud," In a small New England town, teenagers are taken in the night and buried alive. Days later they emerge transformed, wreaking havoc and spreading terror, commanded by an ancient order of parascientists known only as the Dread Doctors. Sounds vaguely familiar. How does it end?"
"It doesn't. This is supposed to be volume one," Malia replied.
"Oh, let me guess... There is no volume two?" I asked sarcastically.
"I think we're living volume two."
"Then maybe the real question is, is this a novel or someone's prediction?" Lydia asked rhetorically.
I grabbed the book from her hand and began flipped through the pages. I got to the very last page and my heart sped up and my eyes widened.
"Why is your heart beating so fast?" Malia asked.
"Look at this," I flipped the book around to show them. "Look at the 'Acknowledgments' page."
Malia held the book closer to her face and read aloud, "For providing scientific perspective and invaluable insight... this book is dedicated to Dr. Gabriel Valack."

"You've got to be kidding me..." Lydia sighed.
"So what's your weird thing?" Malia asked.
"Well, not weird than that," I pointed to the book. "But, it's weird for me. So I woke up in my car this morning." I clapped my hands together and nodded.
"You slept in your car? What's wrong with your bed?" Malia asked.
"Nothing. I slept walked last night. Didn't even know it till this morning. It was so weird because nothing like that has ever happened to me. Also, I've been having nightmares again but I don't remember them when I wake up."
"How do you know their nightmares?" Lydia asked.
"Well, I wake up in a jolt and i'm covered in sweat. Stiles says I scream sometimes."
"That's not normal. Just, if it keeps happening, let us know," said Lydia.

"Brianna... I'm going with you," Stiles argued and picked up his jacket that was laying on his bed.
"I thought you said you were sick. That's why you stayed home today."
He avoided eye contact with me and said, "Slightly under the weather."
"You don't have to come. Malia isn't going either."
"Malia isn't going because she knows that place is a nightmare asylum of insanity and death, okay?"
"Maybe it's best if I just go by myself. Last time we were both there together, bad thing's happened."
"That's exactly why I'm going with you. Let's go." He winced a bit as he put his jacket on.
"What was that?" I asked concerned.
"What was what?" He asked like he had no idea what I was talking about.
"You winced."
"I have a bad elbow," he remarked and zipped up his jacket.
"It was your shoulder."
"Pain radiates. It does that." He avoided the whole thing and tried to leave, but I crossed my arms over my chest and stepped in front of the door.
"You are not going without me," he said. "You remember what happened to Deaton when he talked to Valack?"
"One, Scott, Kira, and Lydia are going. Two, don't lie to me."
"Lying? I'm not lying. Listen, I'm not letting you go anywhere where an orderly drugged and locked you up in a room."
"They did that to you too," I said raising my voice.
"And look, we're both okay! See? Teamwork," He pushed past me and exited from his room.
I stepped in the hallway when I smelled blood. It was just a small amount, but I could honestly smell blood from a mile away.
Stiles didn't know I stopped so he kept walking. I let him be and followed the smell. It lead me into his bathroom, and to his dirty clothes.
It was gross digging around his clothes but it was worth it when I found the shirt he was wearing yesterday, stained with blood right around the shoulder. The place where he winced.
I threw the shirt back into the hamper and ran after him.
"I thought we weren't gonna do this anymore," I said to him before he climbed into his jeep.
"Do what?" He asked.
"Keep secrets from each other. We agreed on that. It's what kept us apart the first time."
"W-what... I don't know what you're talking about," he denied.
"Fine, if that's how it's gonna be." I sighed angrily and got into the passenger side of his jeep, slamming the car door closed.
"Brianna-"
"Just drive. It's getting dark."

"Hello?" I pressed the buzzer again and waited for a response. "Any one there?"
We waited a second longer before the gates of Eichen buzzed and finally opened. Scott opened the gate wider and we all walked in. The second we stepped inside I immediately started having flashbacks. My heart was racing but I acted like I was calm.
"Please empty your pockets into the container," The front desk orderly said and placed a plastic box in front of us. Oh, I remember this bitch. I hated him from the start.
"We're here to see..." Scott started but the orderly interrupted him.
"Please empty your pockets into the container."
I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone and keys, the only things I had, and threw them in, everyone following my lead.
The orderly looked at Kira and smiled, "Please remove your belt and place it into the container."
"I kind of need my belt. I mean, it's crucial to the outfit," She lied stupidly.
"Please remove your belt, which patients will attempt to take from you and use to strangle themselves or others."
I leaned closer to Kira and whispered, "He's not wrong. I saw it happen."
"Right. Got it," Kira nodded and pulled her belt off, then threw it in the container.
He stared at me for a second then laughed, obviously remembering who I was. Stiles glared at him and took a step closer to me.
"I'll remind you that I'm only doing this as a favor to Deaton," Dr. Fenris explained as he lead us down the long stairwell to the ward where they held Valack. "And I'm doing it against my better judgement."
"Hey, what's the etiquette for talking to this guy?" Stiles asked. "I mean, do you ever look at the other eye?"
"I wouldn't. In fact, while you're down here, try not to make eye contact with anyone or anything," said Dr. Fenris.
"Why's that, sir?" I asked.
"It's better off just to keep to yourself." He pulled out his key card as we jumped off the last step. He made his way over to a gate door with Stiles and Lydia.
Scott, Kira and I both had to stop since something was holding us back. We looked around in confusion.
"You didn't think you were all going, did you?" Dr. Fenris asked rhetorically.
"It's Mountain Ash, isn't it?" Scott asked.
"Everywhere, but heavily concentrated down here," he slide the card in the slot and pushed the door open for Stiles and Lydia. "Valack's cell is the last one at the end of the hall."
Stiles and Lydia both looked at us with concern and worry. Scott assured them that were would be here the whole time.
After they passed through the gate, I could no longer hear their footsteps. I sighed and slid down the wall, putting my knees up to my chest.
"I can't hear anything," said Scott. "Must be the Mountain Ash."
"I feel it, too. To be honest, I feel a little weak," replied Kira.
"Brianna?"
"Yeah, I feel it," I opened and closed my hand. "It's like being sedated."
"This was a bad idea, wasn't it?" Kira asked.
"They'll be okay without us. They both can handle it," Scott replied. "No super strength, no samari swords-"
"No fast healing ability," I piped up.
Scott smiled and nodded, "But they stay alive."
"You know Lydia pretend not to be smart?" Scott asked.
"Our Lydia?" I laughed out.
"Yeah, Stiles was the only one who knew."
"D-does he still like her?" I asked nervously. I remember Allison telling me that he used to have the biggest crush on Lydia.
"Not the way he use to. He's to in love with some other chick," Scott laughed.
I smiled and moved my hair behind my ear.
The lights flickered on and off, electricity crackling.
"Did you see that?" Scott asked with his back towards us.
My eyes widened and I stood up quickly as I watched Kira's hand glow blue, electricity running on them.
"No, but I am seeing this," Kira said while staring at her hands.
Scott turned around and stared with wide-eyes.
Soon, Kira's whole body had blue electricity running all around. Scott and I both held out our hands and began to back up wearily.
"Kira, what ever you're doing, please stop," said Scott.
"I'm not doing anything. It's just happening."
All of the sudden, all the light bulbs in the corridor got really bright, before exploding. I bent down and shielded my head from the glass.
I blinked and let my eyes adjust to the light. I could see Scott, but I didn't see Kira. That is until I saw her body on the ground, electricity still flowing.
"Kira?" Scott looked down at her and ran to her aid.
"No!" I screamed. But it was too late. The electricity radiated off of her and sent Scott flying backwards, hitting the door and falling down.
I ran over to him and helped him up to his feet, asking, "Are you okay?"
The door squeaked up, in walking Dr. Fenris. He asked if Scott was alright, which Scott replied with a nod.
"Somethings happening. And I think she's causing it," said Scott.
"We need to get her out of here right now," Dr. Fenris said.
"Yeah, well, how do we move her if I can't even touch here?" Scott asked.
There was a thud behind us. We all turned around and saw all 3 Dread Doctors standing over a dead orderly.
"I think you better run," said Dr. Fenris.
"I can't leave her behind," Scott said while looking at Kira.
"I can." Then Dr. Fenris ran away.
"Let me take her. I'm stronger, faster, and I'll heal. If it kills me then I'll be okay," I said quickly.
One of the Dread Doctors lifted his hand up to the door, his fingers glowing blue as he somehow un-locked it.
I acted quickly and bent down beside Kira. I let out a loud scream as the electricity made contact with my skin, then ran through my whole body. I wanted nothing more than to let go but I knew I had to get her out of here.
I could feel my skin burning and I could smell it. Tears ran down my burnt face as I ran with her up the stairs.
I could hear Lydia's banshee scream in the distance, scaring the shit out of me. Are they in trouble?
I kept running though. Every light I passed, crackled and exploded. I finally made it to the main entrance, kicking through the front doors and down the outside stairs. I let out one final scream of pain before setting her on the ground.
I slowly moved down and layed down on my back. Wincing and hissing any time my burnt skin touched anything, which was the whole time.
"Brianna, you did it," Scott said, finally catching up to us.
"Scott, it hurts. I think I'm gonna pass out," I cried out.
"You're gonna be okay." I felt Scott place his hand on my forearm, which made me scream. But then I could slowly feel some of the pain leave my body. I lent my head up slightly and saw the black veins run up Scott's arm.
"S-Scott. I'm fine. I'll heal," I breathed out.
"You're still in pain," was all he said.
"Is Kira o-okay?" I asked.
"I-i'm okay," I heard her choke out breathlessly.
"St-stiles and Lydia, where-?"
I heard two pairs of feet running in our direction. I didn't even have to open my eyes to know it was them.
"Oh, my gosh. What the hell happened?" Lydia gasped.
I immediately felt Stiles beside me, brushing the hair out my my face with one hand, and holding onto my hand with the other.
"I'm okay. I can already feel my body heal." Stiles stared into my eyes for what seemed like eternity before kissing my lips.
"How can you kiss me when the smell of my burning flesh is all around us?" I asked, making everyone laugh. I laughed also but it only hurt. I winced and closed my eyes.
"What happened in there? I heard Lydia scream."
"We'll explain everything in a bit. I think we need to get away from this place," explained Lydia.
I gladly nodded and wrapped my arms around Stiles's neck as he picked me up bridal style and carried me to the car.
