《The Devil I Love | Jikook Smut |》Chapter 58: Crossroads

"A Jealous man... How is the Director so jealous when it comes to Jimin? Does he want him? That's not professional at all. I can tell why Jimin feels uncomfortable speaking about him and work... and like an idiot I am, I would call Jimin the Director's angel as a joke, unaware of how creepy that man truly is," Jungkook thought as he kept his hand over Jimin's shoulder; walking out of the vast studio together.
All while Jimin believed this was Jungkook taking a stand against everyone and hoped to display his love, Jimin blushed. His face carried a vibrant red hue and for a moment there, he was in love with the idea of being affectionate with his happiness at a workplace. On the other hand, as quick as that thought came in, it was gone the next second when his fears made him doubt so much.
Jimin gulped and looked up to the young man standing close to him. Then, Jimin grabbed Jungkook's hand while it rested over his shoulder, and slowly moved it off. Letting out a sharp exhale while Jungkook quickly snapped out of his own thoughts; finally realizing what Jimin did the moment his hand touched his own side.
"Come on, Jungkook... not in front of everyone~" Jimin whispered to the young man. Turning his face towards the direction Jungkook stood in.
"Right, sorry."
Jungkook however, couldn't focus on that small interaction. His mind travelled around the Director and he closed his eyes. Wanting to forget the horrid thoughts his mind could even think about when it came to Jimin hiding so much from him. Could all his secrets come from the Director? Jungkook knew better not to ask at this very moment, but hoped to bring it up as they cooked together. Asking when they were completely alone, was what felt safer to Jungkook.
Along the car ride, Jungkook listened to the gentle breathing Jimin had. He rested his head over the young man's shoulder and kept his eyes closed the whole car ride. Jungkook finally set his thoughts aside and looked down at the older man. Blushing at the way Jimin completely felt safe with him despite their relationship starting off with just sex. Jungkook was well aware that he didn't know his crush's secrets, but it didn't bother him. He wanted to wait yet, when his own mind pushed him into darker thinking, he wanted to make sure Jimin was alright at the end of the day.
When the two finally arrived at the penthouse floor, Jimin walked in happily and stepped in by pulling the young man by his hand; guiding him in with giggles and a gentle hand hold.
"Be quick!" Jimin spoke happily, pulling Jungkook in with quick tugs and causing the young man to blush and smile to himself.
"Jimin, what is it now?" Jungkook asked. From the way Jimin continued to guide him in until they reached the kitchen, Jungkook only wished this feeling could last forever.
"I'll be right back!" Jimin released Jungkook's hands quickly and then rushed over to the hallway where his room door was left open. "Close your eyes!"
"Jimin, please don't tell me it's another surprise gift!" Jungkook called out from the kitchen area. His eyes closed as he began to feel guilty. He had rather hoped Jimin wouldn't surprise him with another gift he knew he couldn't repay since it would always be too expensive. "Jimin?" The sound of Jungkook's voice called out to Jimin, followed by energetic footsteps approaching him instantly. Within seconds, he had Jimin's soft and warm lips pressed against his own. Just this was enough to ease his guilt as if this was truly the gift, however, it wasn't.

"Open them..."
Jungkook hesitated at first, but once the young man opened his eyes, his gaze latched onto a black garment bag being held up by Jimin's small hand. With this, he was speechless when Jimin moved it forward and deepened his smile.
"Well? Pull the zipper!" Jimin continued with a giggle. But, Jungkook began to feel guilty. Looking back at the second he walked into the studio and felt uncomfortable for coming underdressed for the photoshoot for his first day. There, he recalled telling Jimin and assumed he must have ordered one of his team members to purchase the formal attire for him.
Jungkook moved his hand up and right before he pulled down the zipper, he stopped and pulled his hand back.
"Jimin...?"
"What are you waiting for?" Jimin asked excitedly, but Jungkook continued to look at the black garment bag that concealed the attire in a concerned look.
"Don't tell me... you bought me this after what I said in the studio..." Jungkook whispered as Jimin slowly lowered the bag down and tilted his head. Still holding the smile he kept for his happiness.
"Look..." Jimin whispered and turned the bag before pulling the zipper and showing the beautiful grey coat and matching slacks. "It's formal attire! I felt bad that you became uncomfortable at the studio so I made sure one of my staff members went out to pick out the nicest suit! It looks amazing and you need more clothes to stay here too so I will order more and-"
"Jimin, I...I don't want you to keep buying me things like this..."
"Why... why not?"
"I told you before, I just don't feel comfortable getting so many expensive gifts and not being able to repay you like this..." Jungkook replied as he watched Jimin continue to look at the suit and cling onto it silently. "Hey... it's perfect and I love it!"
"Then... wouldn't you want to keep it and wear it?" Jimin asked and continued to look at the suit. "I just thought... you would be happy if I gave you what you wanted."
"Do you... think I want gifts? Do you think that's what makes me happy?" Jungkook asked.
Even if this conversation bothered him a little bit, he never wanted to make Jimin feel horrible, so he spoke to him normally; not too tough and definitely not too gentle. He avoided being too soft towards him since he knew Jimin was a grown man, and he strayed away from doing what could make Jimin feel horrible for what he did. At the end of the day, Jungkook had told Jimin this before and would normally get impatient with Jimin, but he didn't. He never took a second to make him feel horrible for doing something with good intentions.
"I just- I'm sorry..." Jimin apologized and avoided eye contact with the young man. "You... you make me feel happy, Jungkook. I just wanted you to feel the same way."
"The fact that you think this is what makes me happy, worries me, Jimin," Jungkook claimed. Following his words, Jimin never dared to look Jungkook in the eyes. "I don't want you to spoil me or give me things like this, I told you now that I don't want things like these. First the roses, the money for the hotel, the meal at the diner, the expensive equipment, and now this... Jimin, I love all the things you give me, but that's not what makes me happy..."

Jimin's heart began to race as his eyes widened on the ground. He became anxious as Jungkook slowly stepped forward and took the garment bag from his hand and hooked it over the handle to a cabinet.
"Jungkook..."
"Jimin, I don't want to be a toy to you. I don't want to be someone you spoil. In what world do you think that makes me happy?" the younger continued to ask, but Jimin only silenced him right after as he ran his hands up his hips carefully. "Jimin..."
"Jungkook, let's... let's talk about this later!" Jimin continued and leaned in; racing his hands up the young man's body and hugging him close. Only an innocent hug slipped into Jungkook's mind, but then, Jimin carefully began to kiss his neck. Trying to steer Jungkook away from the conversation at hand, but, the young man just couldn't give into Jimin's temptation when he noticed that this was him avoiding further words that needed to be said. "I want you..."
"Jimin... no..." Jungkook whispered and slowly pulled himself away when he got a hold of Jimin and held his wrists within his own hands. "I don't want this... I don't want to sweep this under the rug anymore, Jimin."
"What are you talking about, Jungkook?~ you worry about the wrong things, that's all!"
"No, Jimin, please... I don't want to avoid this. I know what you're doing and I don't want to feed into it. We have to confront this situation. I don't want you to think I need gifts to be happy, I don't want you to think of me as some toy you can play with and not say anything else to. I want to be more than that..."
"Jungkook, come on~"
"Stop, talk to me..." Jungkook continued to speak to Jimin. Trying to let him know about his feelings but he knew Jimin was still trying to avoid it all. "Jimin, I don't want to be someone you spoil, fuck, and smile at without anything else... Jimin, no amount of expensive gifts would ever make me happy, Jimin... you make me happy."
Jimin became silent as he stared at Jungkook and pulled his own hands back. Finally looking at Jungkook and feeling a chill race down his spine. Something in him told him to run away, but the other that was suppressed this whole time was his growing love for his personal photographer. But, his fears were bigger than that and caused him to remain speechless when the words that seemed too familiar, began to surface. He was afraid to love Jungkook after being trapped for so long.
"Jimin, not only do you make me happy, but... I feel so connected with you, I don't want to say it too soon and confuse you, but if I don't I feel like it won't be fair to me at all! ... I love you and only you! I don't want any expensive gifts, I don't want to just touch every night and remain silent on certain things... I don't want you to use me anymore in order to avoid these things. I want us to bond over anything, enjoy a meal together, smile and hug each other close when we haven't seen one another other in so long!" Jungkook said as he began to reach out for Jimin's hands, wanting to interlock with them. "You don't have to say anything to me, I just need you to know. I don't want you for all of the pretty things, I need you and only you..."
Jimin began to tear up as he looked to the side and pulled his hands back. Refusing his touch. What he feared finally began to surface and he began to think to himself. He was broken after so long, he couldn't remember how to put all his pieces back together now that Jungkook confessed. Jimin slowly backed up and couldn't dare to look Jungkook in his eyes when the broken man himself was already in tears. He didn't want to trust him, but he also didn't want to let him go.
"Jimin, please... talk to me, I don't want this to end here. I want to know what hurts you so I can help make it stop," Jungkook continued, but Jimin only remained silent and continued to cry. This caused Jungkook to slowly make his way to the man and bring him into his arms carefully. Not forcing himself, but offering himself to ease his broken soul that bled right through his mask. "Jimin, you haven't been putting yourself first, haven't you? It's always been me... you've become obsessed with something of me and I've noticed. You avoid many things with sex and I've noticed. I'm patient for you, Jimin. The many things that I've seen from you worries me so much that I wonder what goes on in that mind of yours... please, don't push me away, you have to meet me halfway in this or else, I'll be the only one running after nothing. You have no idea how much I care about you..."
Jimin desperately tried to dry his own tears. The many things he couldn't say to Jungkook refused to spill as he closed his own eyes tightly. Not wanting to hug the young man in return. At this point, he was standing at the crossroads he hoped never to stumble upon. he didn't want to say anything, so when his words tried to assemble in his mind, he broke it down over and over again.
