《The Devil I Love | Jikook Smut |》Chapter 57: A Jealous Man

Namjoon smiled to himself the second he accessed the laptop, however, he knew he couldn't take long to pat himself on the back now. The young manager anticipated the laptop to start up and within seconds, he was already in.
"Now, I just need to find some foota-" Namjoon's thoughts went silent the second his eyes latched onto the screen once it loaded. Instantly, he was greeted to the home screen which had a picture of Jimin and the Director together at a restaurant. The sight of it sent a shiver down Namjoon's spine and wiped out all of the words he tried to assemble in his head.
Namjoon continued to glare in disgust at the old picture until his curious gaze locked onto a folder where it had Jimin's name written on the label. With the sight of the folder listed afar from the others, Namjoon believed this one had to be special. The manager had no idea what he was getting himself into, so he braced himself and double clicked on the folder.
Once the folder opened, Namjoon's eyes widened at the many pictures of Jimin that were saved onto the folders. Some were photos from shoots and some were photos he took with the Director long before they broke up. The first few scrolls were innocent until... it wasn't. Namjoon's eyes widened at the video footage hiding at the bottom after a good minute of scrolling through the top layers of photos. It was like an iceberg to the man, the tip of it only revealed innocent pictures of Jimin and further down, there were things Namjoon just couldn't form into words.
"There's many saved videos here... but which one is the right one? I can't sit and watch them all, I won't have any time for that!" Namjoon told himself as he looked over a few covers of the videos to see one of Jimin resting his head over the Director's desk. It was a specific spot on the desk Namjoon would recall watching the Director run his hands along during a weekly meeting. With that, Namjoon instantly pulled his hands back and shivered in disgust.
At the time within the video from years ago, Jimin was sitting over the office chair the Director would sit in; resting his head over the desk. With the sight of this finally grabbing the attention of Namjoon, he decided it was best to gather the footage he found and save a copy of it all into the drive. Only then will he go through the footage when he wasn't in the office.
Namjoon made sure he gathered all of the videos from the camera and transported them safely. Not knowing what they contained and feared what his eyes would meet when he would be looking through those videos for evidence of abuse. Even then, Namjoon was afraid to sit down and watch every second of them when the previews of the videos seemed to have parts with Jimin looking sad or even afraid.
"This is all for Jimin. I need to save him from this man. Whatever I see in those videos, I have to be strong enough..." Namjoon told himself. Finally, he managed to save the videos onto the drive. Not even bothering to look into the program that controlled the security cameras. At this point, he was already getting too anxious to even check anything else. Next, he turned the laptop off and stood up with the drive in his hands. Just as he was about to leave, he turned to the nearest camera and stuck his middle finger at it without hesitation.

"You can't threaten me anymore, you're going down Sung Joo-won... that I promise."
Back at the studio, the rest of the members in Jimin's team were far from his shoot. Making sure Jimin doesn't constantly feel uncomfortable with the sense of everyone staring at him while working. The only one he was comfortable with was Jungkook, so he was able to smile in every picture in the beginning.
"It feels great to finally work after so long..." Jungkook mentioned but Jimin only smiled at Jungkook, no longer looking at the camera. Gazing at the young man's eyes in which he longed to tell him the many ways he yearned to chase happiness with him for an eternity.
"You didn't enjoy being with me for a few days?" Jimin asked and continued to distract Jungkook with his soft voice.
"Of course I enjoyed it! There will never be a moment where I don't enjoy being with you, Jimin," Jungkook added on and pointed to the lens of the camera before blushing with a grin over his charming face. "Look at the camera, Jimin~"
Jimin turned his face away to hide the red hue of his face. Unknowingly, he was already smiling at how Jungkook's perfect words were arranged together, but even with that, he still tried his best to hide every blush that surfaced on his cheeks. Looking at Jungkook was what caused his heart to race when he hoped it wouldn't.
"Jimin, look over here~" Jungkook called out to the model happily. The young photographer continued to look through his camera as Jimin finally turned his face to look in the direction Jungkook stood. The moment he gave into his contagious smiles, Jungkook couldn't help but to continue his loving gaze at the one he wanted to protect forever.
Jungkook's thoughts on Jimin remained in one place; protecting him from the world was the young man's main priority, but he knew he shouldn't allow Jimin to depend on him completely. Jimin, of course, would have to get stronger on his own in order to be independent for the times Jungkook wouldn't be able to stand by his side. The young man knew his limits on this but just for today, he wanted to keep the beautiful model safe from the Director.
Jungkook tried his best not to think of that man. The Director was a very manipulative person and knew when to fake a smile so easily even in the presence of Jimin's happiness. With the thought of the Director blocking Jimin from his view and whispering something to him, Jungkook became worried in seconds and pulled the camera from his eyes.
"Jimin..." Jungkook called out and with that, Jimin fixed his eyes on his hero with such an innocent gleam outside of the bedroom. It was the wondrous stare that was hiding his misery every time and the second Jungkook thought back at how scared Jimin was before, he only hoped to avoid bringing it up when he had to take good pictures of Jimin now.
"Yes?"
Jungkook thought long and hard in that second. Could he risk asking Jimin about the Director? He just couldn't bring it up and ruin the beautiful smile over the model's face and finally decided to continue taking pictures of the man. Brushing off the concerns he had for him, but he knew better to bring it up one way or another soon. Hopefully, Jimin wouldn't long to avoid the conversation with sex again. That was something Jungkook couldn't handle anymore.

"Nothing..." Jungkook spoke up nervously. Taking pictures of Jimin as they continued to work together. They remained far from the judging stares of everyone and worked together in a vacant studio. Even then, Jungkook just couldn't stop thinking of the Director and having to protect Jimin from a man who is supposed to direct the model's career from afar.
"Alright, we should hurry up. The sooner we finish today, the sooner we can hurry back to the house! I want to leave already, I'm so tired," Jimin replied into a soft giggle. "I also have a surprise for you!"
"What is it? I hope it's not a-"
"No, I won't say! You will have to see when we get back home~"
"Oh... we'll be finishing soon, don't worry." The tone of Jungkook's voice when he spoke to Jimin was warm and comforting. He never hoped to speak to Jimin in any other way since he didn't want to add onto anything he has been through. With the sight of Jimin's smiles and the sounds of his endless giggles, Jungkook felt his heart ache when he recalled the Director standing in front of him and causing fear to race through Jimin's blood. "Oh, Jimin... What did he do to you? What did that man do to make you fear his very existence? I want to know so badly but wonder... if you're going to let me in if I asked..." Jungkook pondered on in his mind filled with endless thoughts. "Please let me in soon... I care about you."
After hours on the set, Jungkook finally concluded and watched the smile erupt from Jimin's face right after. With their shoot concluding, Jimin walked off to change out of the clothes and alert his team that he was already done. Jungkook continued to look through every photo until he listened to the many people walk in just to close the set after Jimin's shoot.
"Such an amazing shot... too bad I couldn't focus on him completely," Jungkook whispered to himself. Unaware of the footsteps approaching him instantly.
"Jungkook," Namjoon spoke up and smiled at the young man. "How was your first day?"
"It was great. Are you... okay? You were in a rush earlier..." Jungkook pointed out as Namjoon kept his hand in the pocket of his black slacks and made a smile at Jungkook.
"I'm feeling way better now, Jungkook! How was Jimin today?"
"He's well... I'm waiting for him so we can head back together," Jungkook mentioned. Only then, he couldn't help but to ask Namjoon about the Director even more. The pain in his heart that surfaced the second he thought of something dark between Jimin and the Director left him wanting to cancel out that image entirely, so he pushed himself to ask the manager about it. "Namjoon, what do you think about the Director?"
"What do I think?" Namjoon asked and rubbed his thumb along the drive in his pocket as he tried to ease the horrid words he had in mind to say, but figured that he couldn't say them all at once. At the end of the day, Jungkook didn't see what the older man had seen.
"A very... unprofessional man... strict, cruel, manipulative..." Namjoon whispered. "Jungkook, whatever you do, don't ever agree to join him for lunch. Even if he's the boss and you have no choice when he demands it, don't do it. You'll only torture yourself further with that man.
"That... I am slowly beginning to understand... he seemed very odd today and I can't help but to wonder if that's what makes Jimin scared of him. I only hope to ask Jimin about it and offer my support," Jungkook replied and looked up to see that the Director was staring at him with his arms crossed. The cold glint in his glasses would send shivers down someone's spine, but not Jungkook. He wasn't afraid since he knew he had to be brave for Jimin. Since Jungkook caught on to the idea that the Director was trying to catch onto what the two were saying, he slowly raised the camera up to Namjoon, offering him to browse through Jimin's pictures in a way to steer the Director's mind off.
"I'm glad you're willing to ask... even if I'm his friend, Jimin is very tough to get through to. But of course, there's a reason for everything. I hope you can talk to him and assure him many things. Life is very difficult for him so please be careful, okay?" Namjoon replied. Lowering his voice and looking through the pictures. "Jimin is a very closed off boy, but if you could break through to him... everything will be clear. Until then, make sure you keep an eye on... you-know-who... that man can't be trusted."
"I hear you... I will have a talk with Jimin soon... hopefully," Jungkook replied. Then, he listened to the silent echo between the two, feeling the stare of the older Director peer into his soul until the soothing call Jimin made to him, soothed every discomfort that came along with it.
"Jungkook!" Jimin called out happily and walked up to the young man standing with Namjoon. "Let's make something at home for lunch!"
"That's perfect, let's go," Jungkook replied and as he looked forward, he noticed the Director standing and glaring at the two. Jungkook was curious to see if the man would react if he interacted with Jimin in a way, so the young man threw his arm around Jimin. Instantly causing the Director to quickly look away and walk into another direction. Jungkook not only gained a reaction from him, but he also proved that Director Sung was a jealous man when it came to others being so close to Jimin.
