《The Devil I Love | Jikook Smut |》Chapter 47: Playing His Game

After a long day of work, Jungkook returned to his apartment building and walked up the stairs. Letting out a sharp exhale the moment he reached the floor he lived in. As soon as he turned to his hall, he was breathless and dropped his gaze onto a bouquet of roses sitting at his doorstep.
"Another batch of roses, hm? Oh, Jimin..." Jungkook said into a breathless smile followed by a red blush painted over his soft skin so suddenly. "I bet you can't stop thinking of me too..."
Jungkook picked up the first batch of roses this week and set it onto the counter of the small kitchen area. Recalling the strong memory he had of Jimin cooking for him and smiling. It was no secret that he was very fond of Jimin and adored him after seeing him every now and then. The young photographer just knew that his feelings would grow stronger if he got to know more about Jimin. So, taking that job offer would bring them closer and that alone made Jungkook smile and grow excited for the coming week.
"He must miss me... I should call him," Jungkook said to himself before taking his phone out and wandering to his bed before throwing himself on it; smiling like a child that had endless joy filling his mind despite such a hardworking day.
Meanwhile, Jimin was alone on his wide bed. He was wearing a long t-shirt over his underwear and his light blond hair was damp and resting over his pillowcase. Within the dark room, nothing else could be heard but the cries that echoed along the huge room. Through the endless rivers of tears, he hugged the oversized sweater in his arms. Wanting to feel the slightest bit of glee as the memories of the early morning came hurtling towards him. Even if this was something he did every night without Jungkook, it was a hard feeling to avoid when he was always miserable.
As he continued to cry, his phone unexpectedly began to ring, causing him to flinch as a chill ran down his spine.
"Please... I hope it's not him...please don't let it be him again..." Jimin whispered to himself until he sat up. Hoping it wouldn't be the Director again, but to his surprise, it was someone far more better than that. Jimin quickly sprung up and picked up the phone. Drying his tears quickly and smiling through his pain before answering the moment he knew it was Jungkook calling.
"Jungkook! How are you? I missed you..." Jimin said happily into the call, not being able to hide the quavering voice from Jungkook.
"Jimin... are you okay? Your voice is a little shaky..." Jungkook instantly caught onto the sound of Jimin's voice. Certainly, the young man enjoyed Jimin so much, he took the time to get used to every tune to his soft voice. So, he was well aware of when Jimin's voice sounded a little different. "Talk to me, Jimin... I'm here..."
"I... I was sleeping without a blanket!" Jimin lied again. It was as if every lie he told Jungkook, harmed himself even more, but he couldn't dare to have Jungkook worry about the many things he went through after a long day.
Jungkook wanted to know so much more, but the mere thought of Taehyung's wise words hovered within the back of his mind, so he took a moment to accept that being patient with Jimin was going to be difficult, but never impossible. The young man was ready for the challenge and hoped to have Jimin trust him with his all, so he accepted it when he knew this was going to lead him to something greater at the very end.

"Then... wrap yourself up in my sweater and a few blankets, okay?" Jungkook wanted to make Jimin feel calm with him, not force anything out just like Taehyung said, so Jungkook remained patient.
"Okay..." Jimin replied and didn't seem to catch onto the smile he had over his own face. "Did... Did you get the roses I sent you?"
"How could I not? It's the first thing I see after work. I told you not to spend any money on them, I won't be here to take care of all the roses you sent me when I'm there with you."
"I-Oh! It doesn't matter, I can have someone take care of them for you, or you can take them with you to my place! Just so they won't die out... if you need to-"
"Ah, Jimin... don't send me any roses, I know how much you miss me, no need to send any more, okay?~ I'll be there with you... no need to send someone to my place just to take care of these roses, I'll bring them with me."
"Oh.. okay, whatever you say, Jungkook..." Jimin whispered into a smile and pressed the side of his face against a pillow and continued to smile until a charming giggle escaped from his mouth. "I... I had a terrible day... but you made it better..."
"I'm glad I could make your day, Jimin...Do you.. want to talk about it?" Jungkook asked and waited for Jimin. But before the young man knew it, Jimin began to speak.
"I had a meeting... with the Director... It was tough at first, but I didn't leave until I was sure you would be working with me. Now, it's official, I'll have you here with me when I close my eyes and even when I'm at work!" Jimin opened up a little. Even if it wasn't a lot, to Jungkook, this was better than brushing off the conversation and switching into a more naughty one. This was the progress Jungkook hoped for and smiled to himself. Glad to know something more than the many things Jimin wanted to do with him in bed.
Their conversation carried on and Jimin did allow the young man to ask questions concerning their favorite things. Just making sure nothing too difficult was said into the call. On the other hand, Jimin never knew how much he truly needed to hear the sound of his happiness speaking to him. It was enough to make him smile until his cheekbones began to hurt. This was a closer step into their friendship becoming so much more than just two souls becoming sensual and having nothing else to say.
At the same time, Namjoon walked within the club he took Jimin to before and sat at the bar. Having so much on his mind concerning Jimin and the Director; he wanted to escape from it all and maybe, come around to it with another idea to help Jimin. There was never a moment where the manager didn't care about his friend.
"Glenlivet twelve on the rocks... just the way you like it," The familiar and comforting voice called out to him carefully as he looked up to see the handsome prince, Kim Seokjin once again. Sliding the drink within a beautifully decorated glass. "Didn't think I would see you here on a weekday, Namjoon!"
"Jin, you know I come here on the weekdays when I can't get my mind off things," Namjoon stated. Trying to speak loud enough so Seokjin could hear him through the loud music and the people singing and dancing on the dance floor.

"Oh, I figured. Tell me what's on your mind. Do you need a little joke to get you going?!"
"Ah, no not at the moment... I just... I'm really... really worried.." The charming young man spoke up as Seokjin finally caught onto the atmosphere he gave off and leaned in to listen to Namjoon.
"Is something wrong with Jimin?"
"Yes. He just keeps getting worse and I know it has something to do with that Director," Namjoon told the man and watched Seokjin tilt his beautifully sculpted head to the side and raise a sharp brow. "I've seen the way Jimin runs out of that office in tears. The way I saw that man fix his tie last time when I interrupted their meeting was concerning... he... he had Jimin trapped against that chair and quickly got up the moment I walked in and he was upset when I interrupted. Then just today, Jimin had no other choice but to see the Director. He made it his top priority to make sure Jimin was to see him alone and not talk over the phone concerning business..."
"Wow... he's insane!"
"He is... and get this, he was in a relationship with Jimin for five years! Director Sung says he loves him like everyone else, but if he truly loved him, he wouldn't make Jimin cry like that!"
"What the fuck... do you think they had an abusive relationship?" Seokjin asked in concern, still looking around to make sure no one would sit at the bar and order at that very moment.
"That's what I think. Jimin is very anxious around that man and he cries every time he knows he has to see him. That boy is afraid of that man and I feel terrible that I can't protect him! He doesn't want my help and distances himself from me, it's not like him to act this way... I know he is a sweet boy, I've seen him happy before."
"What makes him happy? Maybe if you give him what makes him happy and talk to him more, he will-"
"That's the thing, a photographer is what makes him happy... I can't give him a person and bond with him the next like Jungkook is an object. Jimin enjoys being around that photographer so much, he smiles like he never did before. He told me the first day he went to his studio that he liked him. Jimin has never opened up to me on someone like that... Jungkook could change him but I also hope Jimin doesn't depend on him for that happiness..."
"You're right, I had my fair share of that before... depending on someone for that happiness isn't the best thing to do. It's like using someone for that purpose... I just hope he doesn't get too obsessed over the feeling," Seokjin mentioned and rested his face against his hand as he continued to look at the young man before him. "With that being said, I apologize for that, Namjoon..."
"It's fine now, we talked it over, you shouldn't feel sorry about that," Namjoon assured the man and reached over to pat his hand carefully. "I said I forgive you, don't hold it against yourself."
"Ah, It's really been a long time, I can't help but to feel guilty for using you like that," Seokjin replied before he shook away the thoughts and continued to speak on Jimin. "Anyway, Jimin... will have to learn that on his own or with Jungkook if it ever gets to that point.
Gaining a feeling like glee from someone is amazing, but depending on that specific person all the time isn't the best."
"Right. I just wish I could help him in some way..."
"For starters, what are you going to do with your boss? It's obvious they're no longer in a relationship but for him to continue to torment Jimin like this? The fans will kill that man if they find out he makes Jimin cry!"
"That... I don't know what to do. Jimin wouldn't let me in on anything, so I can't prove or do anything to make Director Sung stop," Namjoon said with a sigh before taking a drink out of the glass and looking around at the people dancing.
"Why don't you... play his game?"
"What are you talking about?" The manager asked as he turned around to face Seokjin.
"Surely he has something to hold above Jimin's head and that's his position along with the contract! What you need to do is find something that you can hold against your own boss and use it against him," Seokjin mentioned and gave off a daring smirk.
"Easier said than done, I don't know what I can use against that man to make him stop. That man is very obsessed with Jimin to the point where anything I say, he will turn it around and make it seem like he isn't. Director Sung is a master at manipulating others."
"Well, think again," Seokjin spoke. Leaning over to nudge his head in the direction of the ceiling way above the many people to show a few security cameras within the club. Recording and ensuring the safety of the people who went in to have fun. "Cameras are always vital evidence in most cases..."
Namjoon looked at the security camera and suddenly recalled the one sitting in the corner of the Director's office. He never thought of it this way and sometimes would doubt it just because he believed that the Director would never leave anything suspicious. But yet again, the Director was in control of all the footage and there was no doubt that he had a few footage saved when it came to the idol. That's how obsessed the Director was towards Jimin.
"Seokjin... you're a genius! A beautiful genius, I know he must have some footage when it comes to Jimin, he has surveillance cameras everywhere Jimin goes! There has to be something there... maybe a conversation he had with Jimin before. Ah, why couldn't I think of this sooner?!"
"You're very welcome! What are your plans now? Surely it won't be that easy to get the footage, right?"
"Right... I will have to wait for our weekly meeting concerning Jimin's career before I can set up a pointless appointment so soon. Then, I will try to get him to talk when the cameras are rolling. Playing his game to find so much and hold it against him, will ."
