《Son of Chaos || Percy Jackson》Double Trouble

The sound of dripping water woke me up from my slumber, my eyes squinted as I let out a groan of pain; my head throbbing in pain. Gingerly pushing myself up, I went to touch my head, only to pull back with a hiss at the sudden stab that ran through me. My fingers, now stained in my own blood, made me wince as I tried to look through the darkness, trying to find something that would give me a good grasps on where I was.

Only the sight of metal bars greeted me, the room beyond that barely lit by torches hanging off the walls, the fire within illuminating what seems to be a long winding hallway that let upwards. I gently ran my fingers over the hard and brittle surface of the stone beneath me, immediately being able to catalog the stone from memory. "Obsidian." I mumble softly to myself just as I heard the sound of loud clapping, making me wince as I held my throbbing head, slow turning to face the source of the sound. "It didn't take you long to figure that out. Then again - you are a daughter of Athena."

The very voice seem to send a wave of rage through me as Jake walked into the light, smirking at me smugly while I slowly got onto my feet, trying not to show him the shakiness of my legs from the blood loss, and from still being groggy from all the sleep. "Let, me go." I seethed as I reached for my dagger on reflex, only to find my sheath empty. The man before he smirked before he reached behind him, pulling out my dagger from his sheath as he turned it in his hands, the bronze glittering under the light. "Quite a shame..such a beautiful weapon, was bestowed on a girl like you."

"Give it back, Jake." I said calmly, barely being able to mask my suppressed anger at the man before me as he gave me a cocky look, pointing the tip of my dagger towards me. "I would, if you take up my offer." He said simply, resting the dagger on a desk that materialised behind him, making me pause as I stare at him, giving him a moment to say what he has to say. "That man, Commander Omega as he is called...he's got quite the personality, doesn't he?" Jake started, making me scowl at him, my eyes narrowed in anger when I realise he was stalling me. "It's very weird to me, if I am being honest with you - how similar he was to an, old friend of ours."

"What are you going on about?" I snapped at him, my temper slowly climbing as I watched him walk towards me slowly, myself barely holding myself back from running towards him and try to attach him through the bars. "You know exactly what I am going on about." Jake said with a smirk, watching my reactions that I guarded carefully to make sure he doesn't see the rising doubt in me.

"Don't you think, it is strange, how Percy just seemed to..vanish, out of the blue? No body? No soul in the afterlife?" He continued, stopping a few steps before my cell as I kept my eyes on him, feeling the sense of dread inside of me as he smirks; clearly being able to see through my breaking walls. "You and I both know the Gods would never ignore an opportunity to brag about their achievements. Don't you think they would have paraded Percy around, showing the world their power to be able to capture the greatest hero of our time? The man who survived Tartarus himself...letting him escape would bring such shame to them all, don't you think?"

My silence answered his question, making him chuckle darkly and tilt his head, watching my resolve crack before him. "Come on now, you're smart enough to put it together - you can't deny it anymore. He hides himself beneath a hood, their characteristics are the same. You yourself have been doubting his real identity for months now." He said in a quiet tone, one that made my resolve break as I slowly felt the world around me shrink, my eyes watching his every move as he turned away with a soft chuckle. "Lord End has been waiting for this very moment, watching as the two rascals destroy all of the work he has done, saving the pesky low lives and scrapers that live on planets that don't belong to them." Jake explains, keeping his back to me while I examined the room, trying to find any form of weaknesses in the design. "He can't deal with them himself, not only are they not worthy enough for him to even grace them with his presence, he also cannot risk tipping the fragile scale of Order. Gods know the consequences that comes with it."

"For a man who claims to be almighty, it's quite pathetic how he is beaten by two teens." I couldn't help but jabbed back at him, making Jake turn to me with a scowl on his face as I gave him a sarcastic smile. "I mean, if you do make it sound like Amber and...Percy, are not worth his time, he seems to be quite obsessed over to two." I managed out, my voice faltering at the mention of Percy, something I refuse to believe, yet know in my heart. Jake himself confirmed it. "Judging by this elaborate set up, I am assuming that you want something from me."

Jake gave me an innocent smile, one that made me roll my eyes in annoyance as he gave me a lazy smile. "You and I both know that Percy and you..what you two share just doesn't vanish with time." He started, making me pause as I watched him closely. "No matter how cold of a shield he puts on, how indifferent he acts around you...you know that it's still there. The love, the bond that you two share...it never went away." He explains simply, and even though I try to stop it, a tear slide down from the corner of my eye, one that I swiftly wipe away before he noticed. But judging from the smirk, it was obvious he knew that he had the upper hand. "You suddenly going missing will pull something from him. It may not be love in his eyes, but deep down, the pull of needing to know where you are, to make sure you're safe, is going to lead him right to me."

"..What do you want?" I asked in a soft voice, making Jake pause as he smirks, looking back at me as he gave me a satisfied look. "I knew you were going to come around." He purred, making me scowl at him as he walks towards me again, his hands behind his back. "What I want in exchange, is simple." He said, stopping before my cell, keeping his eyes on me as I stared back, refusing to be the one who breaks eye contact first. "All I need, is for you to comply to my very simple terms." He said, giving me a look as he stops right before the cell, my eyes watching him closely. "All I need for you to do, is vanish, disappear from distant memory. Then..I'll let you go."

I frown in confusion as he takes a few steps back, watching as a black blob came sliding off the wall and making his way towards him slowly, the substance sliding on the floor slowly as he patiently waits for it. "You want me to hide? Where? I can't hide in the mortal world without someone noticing who I am." I said with a frown, watching how the blob of darkness seems to stop beside him and formed what I think looks like a human body, or the shape of it - two legs, arms, and an misshaped head. "Figure it out - it's none of my concern. I already got what I wanted from you."

Frowning, I watched as he pulls out a small vial, one containing a suspicious red liquid as Jake gave me a casual smile. "I hope you don't mind, I helped myself to some of your blood while you were passed out." he said with a sarcastic smile as he uncorks the bottle, tipping it and letting the blood hit the head of the blob, which slowly started to take on a more solid form. Tan skin started to appear, the blob slowly taking form of a female, curly blonde hair sprouting from its head, before a pair of grey eyes staring back at me.

Screw that - I was staring back at an exact carbon copy of me.

"What is this?!" I yelled out, staring at Jake in anger as the man smirks, the woman smiling back and curling up into his side while I stare in horror. "Are you telling me you just created another version of me because I rejected you - that is the most saddest thing ever." I sad with wide eyes, making him scowl as he look over at me. "You seriously - you know what, I am not going to answer that." He snapped, making me bite back my smirk - I love it when I can get under his skin. "You remember our deal? You stay out of all of this, and you'll live.."

He pause for a moment as he stares at me, as if they could tell immediately what is going to happen if he lets me go, looking back at me. "Then again..knowing you, you can never stay away from trouble." He said simple, turning to face me as I take a few steps back, watching him as he smirks a little; his eyes scanning around while the other one, whatever it was, just smile at him dreamily, stroking her hand up and down his arm like he was a king. "I think, putting you here would be a more...interesting option. I'm sure you'll find ways to entertain yourself until someone arrives. If anyone arrives."

I stayed silent, knowing that giving him any more ammo would just give him more power, or what he thinks is power over me. "It is quite a shame..we would have made quite the couple." He said with a sigh, giving me a disappointed look while I visibly gag at the idea, making him scoff in annoyance. "Very well then, love...if you ever change your mind, just scream my name. You know I'll give in those pretty little puppy eyes any day."

He gave me a sarcastic smile before he walks out, waving back at me as I watched him walk away in silence. "It was nice working with you, Wise Girl." He calls back with one last infuriating smirk, winking at me before he walks away, the sound of soft giggles from the weird blob echoing behind his fading steps - Gods, if that wasn't scary enough.

Sighing tiredly, I slowly sat down on the floor, feeling the fight drain out of me immediately once I know he was out of sight. Now all I can do is wait, and pray to to Gods above that someone would come and safe me. Feeling the sense of hopelessness slowly starting to consume me, I sighed to myself and pulled my knees up to my chest, my face buried in my knees.

Percy...I am so sorry..

I was taking another sip of my morning coffee when the door of the cabin was slammed open, revealing a wide-eyed Amber who was panting wildly, looking like she was running from the other side of the camp to reach us. "Amber? What's wrong, what got you looking like a wild kitten?"

"End is planning on an attack today." She pants out as I immediately snapped back into reality, getting up before I grabbed my hood and pulled it up, following beside her as we swiftly made our way towards the Big House. "How did you know about this? What came up?" I asked her as she walks beside me, looking over at me with a grim expression on her face as we made it to the Big House, opening the door to walk in. "One of our scouts spotted an army making their way towards us. Oceanus sent me an IM moments ago to warn us."

Nodding grimly, I turned to face Luke and Jason, who gave each other a look when they noticed how serious I look. "Alpha, Thunder, I need you both to get the Spartans ready for battle. Split them up among you two, and get the others to coordinate for the safety of the younger kids on camp. Hide them and get them out of sight." I commanded, making the two men nod immediately before they went to do my bidding. Amber watched them for a moment before she nods towards me, the head of each cabin starting to usher the children to safety while the older campers geared up, Bekendorf standing in the middle of the chaos to make sure everyone gets the weapons they needed while Selena ushered the kids towards the woods, where we had set out a hideout for them.

In the distance, we heard the dreaded sound of the war horn being blown, making grimace before I gave Amber a look. "Make sure you make it out alive?"

"Always." She said with a smile, squeezing my hand before he quickly ran out towards the battle field, where the Huntresses were already forming a line at the back, shooting a hail of arrows towards the front row ranks of the incoming army, the Spartans letting out a loud chant before they dove head first into the battle, Luke and Jason doing the same.

I unsheathed my twin swards, Yin and Yang - one made of Chaos metal, a deep black metal that was forged only in Chaos' realm, the metal gleaming with galaxies and stars that disappear and reappear on the surface, and the other, forged from a bolt of energy, compressed down into the shape pf a blade, that alone can kill enough enemies, but working in tandem with Chaos metal, seems to do enough damage to level out an entire kingdom, void of life.

Giving Amber a nod, her and I shared a look before we ran straight first into the enemy ranks, letting out a roar of anger as my swords stabbed into an enemy Hell-hound, one that howled out in pain before disappearing into a column of golden monster dust.

Without missing a beat I stabbed the next monster in line, a huge group of grain demons that tried to claw me while scrambling around to climb up to my height. Knowing how they would sneak past the Spartans and cause chaos for the efforts of the others, who were trying to protect the kids, I knew I had to handle them first. At first they did start to overwhelming me, but eventually huge plumes of different wheat started to appear around me.

Once they've backed up, I barely dodged a screaming Empousai, stabbing her in the back and reducing her to ashes. I was in the middle of stabbing someone when I heard a familiar scream of pain, along with Thalia's furious yell. Stabbing the Chimera before me, I turned back just in time to see Artemis falling to her knees, her eyes rolled back into her head as she falls forward. Without a word, I ran straight towards her, grabbing a dagger and tossing it straight at the attacked, only for them to teleport away, the dagger hitting a drakon, who lets out a howl of pain just before it disintegrates into dust.

"Annabeth?"

Annabeth turned towards me, a face void of emotion, not noticing how Thalia has dragged Artemis away to Lee, who immediately tried to heal the wound, the sword being used laid beside the goddess; the stars and galaxies winking back under the sunlight, its bright hue darkened by the stains of blood along the blade.

I stared at her in horror as she smirks and winks at me, pretending to blow a kiss and ducking into the crowds, and without missing a beat I ran after her, only to be stopped by a hand latching onto my arm. "Not now Percy!" Amber said firmly from beside me, breaking me from my trance as I look back at her, noticing the firm look she was giving me. "Chase her later, get your heart in the game, or we are all dead!" She said firmly before she pulled an arrow from her sheath, shooting a golden arrow at an incoming Laistrygonian was about to break the ranks of a few campers.

Nodding at her, I shake my head before I grabbed my swords again, Amber giving me one last serious look before she ran away, hopping onto the back of a Pegasus and flew upwards, shooting down at a few enemies below with the children of Apollo, who had been shooting from above along with other fighters. I blinked my eyes to clear my head before I sprouted my wings out, jumping up into the sky so I can scan the army below.

We were winning the battle, yet at the same time, that doesn't mean we didn't have casualties; I could see where a few campers were pulling their fellow siblings or friends towards the healing tents, which were set of tents set at the end of the forest, before the entrance of our safe holds for the children. I snapped back into reality when I heard the Spartans let out a yell of fury, having just been disrupted by an enemy war elephant before I flew towards them, blades drawn. Killing the driver, I nicked the elephant on the back of the head. This made his rear up in pain as it let out a loud trumpet before it starts to stampede over its own troops, trying to shake me off.

"Woah!" I yelled out in shock and tried to hold on the reins, stirring it so it reared backwards and starts to step on the groups of people beneath, who all screamed and yelled at the elephant, the not so lucky ones becoming pancakes under the weight of the elephant. At a sudden hard buckle, my balance was knocked off and I landed straight in the water, being thrown a little further away from the elephant, whose herd was now also panicking.

I got up and was about to take a step forward when I felt a sword buried into my stomach from behind, making me let out a gasps of shock before I grunted, a wave of pain hitting me when my attacker pushed the sword deeper into me. "Not do tough now, are you?" A familiar voice sneered into my ear, a voice that I immediately put a face to as I slowly fell to my knees.

Jake walked up from behind me and smirked, his eyes glowing for a moment as I blinked away the black spots in my eyes. "Look at you - how pathetic." He grins just as someone yelled out and slashed behind him, making Jake howl out in pain before he disappeared, his sword releasing me from its hold. I fell forward and fell my eyes rolling into the back of my head just as I landed in someone's arms, the last thing was someone screaming for help before darkness consumed me.

"Help! Commander Omega is down!"

The first thing I felt when I regained consciousness again was a stab of pain, making me groan out as I slowly opened my eyes, blinking the dots out of my vision as I shifted in the cot I was laying in, my skin sticky from the overly warm tent. What happened? All I remember was a battle, and then a huge stab of pain, followed by a face that just keeps swimming away from my memory. Blinking hard, I groaned and tried to roll onto my side.

"Don't do that - you're going to undo your wrappings."

I turned to face the voice to find Amber smiling down at me softly, grabbing bucket that was placed beside me and wets a towel that was laid next to it, soaking it in the water. She presses the cold cloth against my forehead while I smile a little and gently laid back, wincing in pain. "Sorry.." I mumble softly, making her give me a soft but sweet smile. "It's alright."

Slowly, she got out and sits beside me on the bed, gently pulling me into my lap, giving me a partial hug as I wrapped my arms around her waist, burying my face into her stomach. We didn't say a word, Amber not saying anything as she lent me her silent strength; reassuring me in silence that everything was fine, my mind swirling with all the memories of what happened, of who I saw. Never would I thought something like this happened - that she'd choose the dark side over ours. What happened?

Amber ran her fingers through my hair as I sighed softly, closing my eyes as I heard her hum softly, gently playing with my hair as I took silent comfort from her. "Amber-"
