《Son of Chaos || Percy Jackson》The First Attack

...The Next Day...
"Bitch, wake up!" I heard Luke and Jason scream as they threw the door open, marching in and dancing around the room loudly as laughter came from the doorway leading into the common area. Groaning, I rolled over onto my stomach, covering my face with my spare pillow as I muttered into the mattress, "Leave me alone, assholes."
"Breakfast is in 30 minutes." I heard the familiar voice of my younger sister before the sheets were pulled away from my body, revealing my pyjamas bottoms and my shirtless back as she shook me gently. "C'mon, lazy. Get up." Amber said with an amused edge to her voice and pulled me up as I grumbled and sat up, yawning and stretching as Jason and Luke had the nerve to look offended.
"How do you wake him up so easily?" Luke said as she gave him a look, one that screamed 'you are an idiot'. "I'm more gently." She said and stuck her tongue out a the offended boys as I chuckle softly, shaking my head in amusement as I led her and the others out of my room, being more gentle with my sister. "Alright, let me get ready." I said and she closed the door before I went to do my morning routine in my bathroom.
I threw on some fresh clothes and slipped my cloak on before I grabbed my twin swords, Yin and Yang, strapping them to my belt. I slipped Riptide into my pocket as my good luck charm before I walked out of my room, throwing my hood up moments before walking out into the bright morning in the camp.
Walking to our table, I next in between Amber and Bianca, who was were chatting up about something about god knows what as they ate their food. We were halfway through our food when Annabeth came marching over with Piper by her side. "We don't trust you." Was the first thing Piper said as she looked down at me, making me stop mid way cutting my pancake while Amber shrugged carelessly. "The feeling's mutual."
"How do we know you aren't helping End?" Annabeth ordered as Amber gave her a look. "Please, that old man? If we worked for him, we'll end up falling into the pit of Tartarus every time we screw something up. And I do not need to have that in my mind every time I did not do some old man's deed." She said and Annabeth visibly shuttered at the name 'Tartarus'. "But we don't know how you look like. How can we trust you if we aren't even sure if you're monsters or not?" Piper butted in as I gave her a mischievous smirk.
"Piper, we all are monsters. Remember, we aren't fully human." I said as she look taken back for a moment, making my smirk deepen even more. "But just for reassurance, why don't you show us who you are?" Annabeth challenged and I hummed in amusement, looking up at the two women who were once my friends. "You still haven't change much, Annabeth." I mused as Annabeth frowned slightly confused to what I mean as I can't help the grin of pure delight to spread on my face - I like pissing her off more then I thought. "As for our identities, we wear our hoods so our victims do not know who we are. And it's also to not allow people who hate us realise who we are." Amber said as Annabeth looked at her for a moment with a challenging look. "But can't you willingly show us?"

"God dammit - will you shut up if someone shows their face?" The original Jason said in annoyance as Annabeth stood there for a second, blinking in shocked at his sudden outburst, before she tensed up and nodded firmly. "Yes, I will." She said as Amber MMed (mind messaged) I'll do it, it's not like I know anyone here.
Ok, be careful. I replied before Amber stood up. "Very well, I will show you." Amber said before she slowly reached towards her hood, making it dramatically slow to take the piss. At this point in our lives, we plan to just try and annoy and have fun as much as we can, nothing is going to last forever anyway, so why take everything seriously?
I examined the campers closely as Amber removed her hood, giving everyone a small smile as she spread her hands out to show everyone. "My code name is Huntress, but my real name is Amber." She said as I saw Jake checking her out. "Now that we have shown you we aren't monsters, please leave us to enjoy our breakfast in peace, Ms. Chase." I said with a wave of my hand as Annabeth looked at Amber, clearly jealous for god knows what reason before she turned to walk away, Piper following behind her slowly.
"Actually, we have to get going." Perseus said as the others nodded and some people (Ethan (Pirate), Jason (Forgotten), Bianca (Angel), and Zoë (Arrow) stood up and their plates disappeared. "Alright, be save." Amber said seriously and they nodded before Zoë created a portal as they stepped through it, the portal closing behind Bianca. "I worry about them." Amber said with an adorable frown as I chuckled, ruffling her hair playfully. "You worry about all of us."
"Well, no duh; you're our leader. I worry what will happen if I don't have a say in your decisions." Amber sassed and elbowed me with a smirk. Jason snorted into his eggs and said, "We'll probably be stuck somewhere on Planet 342."
"Planet 342?" Someone said behind us and we turn to face a surprise looking Reyna. "Yeah...Planet 342." Amber said with a awkward smile, awkward that people heard out banter out loud. "It's called the Illusion Planet. We were there once to help some people and, well, Commander Omega isn't the best when it comes to plans." Amber said as I chuckled lightly, putting my hands up in surrender.
"I used to know someone else who is horrible at plans." Reyna said with a sad smile as she sighed, looking down with a soft frown on her face. "After he left, the Romans arrived and we were furious at them for making Percy leave, then Jason. Now we're going to lose the war for sure; those two, despite the fact they are best friends and are sometimes idiots, they are the most powerful people I've ever met." She said as she looked up at the sky for a moment, the anger in her eyes evident as we shared a look between us.
After some awkward silence, with Jason looked down at his meal awkward, he finally looked up and face Reyna. "M' Lady, you shouldn't beat yourself up because of Jason and Percy's disappearance; they left with their own reasons." He said as Reyna sighed, facing Jason with a look of pure heartbreak. "You might be right, Thunder. But I wished I could have helped Percy; that boy was our backbone." She said before she turn away and ran towards God knows where, not before showing us just how me running from the gods really affected her.

"I feel bad for Reyna." Jason mumbled as we sat there in pure silence, watching her retreating figure in the distance. "She was a great friend, one who I can really trust." He said silently before he let out a sigh. I was about to say something when suddenly, I heard the familiar sound of a war horn slicing through the nosy air, signalling that there is danger.
The remaining warriors stood up and I turn to face them with a serious look. "End has made his first move. Alpha and Thunder, go and help the campers. Huntress, you're with me." I told them firmly and they nodded. Amber threw on her hood and we spread our wings, jumping up into the air as we flew towards the incoming army.
There were hundreds of them; starting with Cyclopes and ended up with Satyrs, that were still drinking from metal canteens and stumbling as they made their way towards the camp from the base of the hill where Camp Half-Blood was located. Amber grabbed her bow and three arrows, sending them flying towards three Empousai, turning them into gold dust immediately. "How many do you think they are?" Amber asked as she notched three more arrows, sending them towards a Hellhound which howled out in pain before the monsters noticed where the arrows were really coming from. "Honestly, I don't know." I said as I unleashed my sword, giving her a look as the other campers finally came running with their own weapons drawn. "But let's hope the others return soon." I said and made a dive for it, landing in the middle of the fight.
I sliced and hacked through all the monsters, not letting any one of them escape once they are in the radius of my swords. I heard a bunch of feet running towards my direction before I heard a blood curling scream. I looked at the direction of the scream, to see Amber clutching her shoulder, an arrow protruding from between her fingers. Her wings flapped a few more times before her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she fell, plummeting towards the ground beneath. "Amber!" I exclaimed before my vision grew red, and I sliced through all the monster with new vigour.
A few more minutes later, the hill was covered in gold dust as the campers kicked them around so the monsters can't reform again. But I quickly flew towards Amber, who was being healed by Lee, watching the man try and pull the arrow from her shoulder anxiously. "This is bad." He said as I landed next to Amber, my wings folding back into my back as I craddled Amber's head on my lap gently. "The arrow is made by Adamantine. The exact metal that is used to make Kronos' Scythe." He said as I gave him an impatient look. "Can you just remove it from her? The longer it's in her, the effect will be stronger." I said and Luke kneeled down on her right, and Jason on her left. "Right. Hold her down, this might hurt. A lot."
I pressed down on her arms along with Jason and Luke as Lee wrapped his hands around the arrow, tugging it up and out of her shoulder forcefully. Amber let out an agonizing scream, making all us of exchange heart broken looks between us as she let out another agonising scream.
Even though she is the mother of the group, all of us are highly protective over her. None of us will forgive ourselves if she ever died. She was the glue that held us together, and I was not willing to let her go when I know I can save her. It will tear the team apart, something we can't risk right now
Lee tugged one more time before the arrow came out and Amber opened her eyes, gasping out like she was awoken from the land of the dead. "What happened?" She groaned out as Lee poured Nectar over her wound, making her moan out pitifully before he wrapped her wound up securely. "Not much." Jason with a weak shrug as I cradled her body in my arms, her wings brushing against my hands softly as we walked back towards camp. "Just the fact you almost died on us."
"God, I feel like shit." Amber managed out with a weak groan as Lee gave her a look. "You should. But you should also be healing up soon enough." Lee said simply as we pasted the invisible border back . "That arrow is mad powerful." Luke said as Amber mumbled something and laid her head on my chest, too weak to reply properly. "I should help the wounded." Lee said and walked away, still clutching the bloody arrow in his hand as I walked towards the Chaos Cabin.
Jason opened the door and we entered the cabin, walking towards Amber's room. I laid her down on her bed, tucking her in, all of us wishing her well before we walked out of her room quietly. "Well, since End made his first move, I think this is the best time to panic." Luke said as I gave him a look once the door was closed and Amber can rest. "No. We are going to panic. Get yourself together, commander. We're just going to work twice as hard." I said sternly and the two nodded, both of them still nervous but it's something we'll handle later..
"Why don't we go and check on the campers?" Jason suggested and we nodded before we walked out of the cabin, towards the Big House where most of the wounded were being tended too as we helped as much as we can, going back from time to time to take care of Amber.

When the world was on the brink in the 1940s a group of men and women with uncommon ability pulled the world from the brink. They inspired generations to come and led to a golden age of vigilantes protecting the world. Times change. By the early 2000s almost nowhere was willing to tolerate unregulated men and women dispensing their own form of justice. The dawn of the internet made operating in the shadows virtually impossible. Everyone thought the days of vigilantes were done but presidential candidate Richard Hughes, riding a wave of populism, has promised to bring these men and women into the light and empower them to keep us all safe. The passing of the Vigilantes Making Us Safe Act changes everything. All teenagers feel like they don’t fit in at times. Ryaan Asfour knows the feeling well.
