《Son of Chaos || Percy Jackson》First Day In Camp

There was something very familiar about Alpha and Omega, it's like I've been in their presence before. It made me question who these people can be, or men, I could call them - they were clearly male. Especially Omega, he was definitely a male. But just who they are just seem to make me question every man I've ever encountered, both human and magical.

I watched Omega tighten his fist and Jake charged, but I secretly knew Jake already had no chance against Omega even before he got closer to the other male. Omega tsked as he step sided a stumbling Jake, shaking his head as he gave the male an annoyed look. He sucker punched Jake in the gut, quickly ending the entire thing as Jake staggered back, gasping for air like a fish out of water. Omega grabbed Jake by the neck, slowing pulling him back up on his feet, but went further then that until he hover two feet off the ground.

Omega looked at me dead in the eye and he softened a bit for some reason, making me tilt my head in confusion as he looked away. Turning back to face Jake, tightening his grip, choking the poor boy ever so slightly. Huntress appeared behind Omega and placed a hand on his. "Omega, enough." she ordered, and Omega seemed to hesitate before he dropped Jake, who gasps for air as the man stared down at him with pure disgust.

I looked down at the pathetic mortal before I sighed, looking at Amber as she gave me a look. "I think you should rest." She said softly and I nodded before I face the campers and Olympians, ignoring their looks as I cleared my throat and stood straight again; giving them an awkward and forced smile underneath my hood

"I'm sorry. I easily forget how weak mortals can be." I said as I gave Jake one last look before I cleared my throat, letting him scramble away like a rat as I gave everyone a look. "My army and I shall be staying here, in our own cabin. And I do not want any of you entering the cabin unless you want to be disintegrated into dust." I said and nodded at Amber, who snapped her fingers at my command.

The ground shook beneath us and suddenly a new cabin appeared, the exterior made from Chaos metal and the front door flanked by two burning torches. I nodded at my army before I bowed at the others mockingly, giving them a smirk as the others retired to the cabin. "If you need us, just yell or knock on our door." I said before I turn away from the crowd, following the others as I entered the cabin and slammed the door shut behind me.

The modest looking cabin was definitely a lot larger inside then the outside lead on. There is a living room, kitchen, meeting rooms, training room, even a weaponry and forge. We all had different rooms, each individual getting a room for themselves due to privacy reasons. Plus, three idiots (Jason, surprisingly Luke and I) in the same room causing chaos would mean others will have no sleep at all.

"Amber, do you have any idea when will the enemy strike and where would they strike?" I asked and she nodded before she pulled out a small square piece of glass, which projected a huge replica of Earth as she placed it on the dining table. "Okay. So, if my sources are correct, they would be assuming Camp Jupiter is still there. So, that's where they would be heading to first." She said and tapped on a particular place on the map, before it showed us the full scale of the former Roman camp.

"We can put our soldiers here, here and here and...here." She said and pointed out a few parts of the camp, which glowed on the map under her touch. I nodded, examining the camp with my arms crossed against my chest as the original Perseus said, "What about weapon wise?"

"I bet you that they left the Lightning Eagle and most of their weapons and armour there. If we can defend the camp, we can bring back the weapons. Plus, there should be a few other Roman soldiers who are still against the ideas of the Greeks and Romans, so I can assure you the camp isn't abandoned at all." Jason said as I nodded. "Wait," Lee jumped in before he looked over at us with a confused look. "How the heck do we even know when they're attacking?" He asked as Amber shrugged, biting her lip nervously. "We don't. But it's better safe than sorry. If there is no monsters there when we send the soldiers, they should have no problem retrieving the weapons and Lightning Eagle." Amber said before she turn to face Beckendorf. "Do you think you can strengthen the barrier here using our technology?"

"I can attempt to do it." He said with a shrug, not really promising but I nodded anyway. "Okay, if anyone decided to attack Camp Half-Blood, we have the higher advantage. The only way to reach this island is by the ocean. So, if there is a disturbance in the ocean, I might be able to sense it." I said as the others nodded, while Amber slashed her hand through the hologram, making it disappear.

"But the campers have to do something." Zoë as Bianca nodded. "I am not going to fight this whole war for them." She said as Amber shrugged, not knowing how to tame the clearly annoyed girls. "They can help with the defense at camp. We need everyone we can get." She said before everyone muttered in agreement, but that doesn't mean everyone was still fond of the idea of helping the camp that once threw us away like trash. "So it's official; Waves, Arrow, Angel and Pirate will go to the Roman camp to retrieve whatever and whoever is there, Healer will stay here to help the Apollo cabin, Huntress will stay and plan out the war with the gods and campers. Alpha, Thunder, and I will stay here and hold up the camp in case of any threats that come our way." I said and everyone nodded.

"We will begin our plan tomorrow at sunrise." I said before I heard the lunch bell ring, signalling lunch was being served and that we had to join back and socialise with the campers again. "There goes the lunch bell." I said with annoyance as we fixed out hoods and walked out again, with me taking the lead like usual

I snapped my fingers before a table for us appeared, as I was definitely not gonna sit with the others for no reason. We sat down and food appeared in front of us, making us serve ourselves a portion each; Amber having to stop me from being sad that Jason was eating seafood in front of me. Although I am no longer the Son of the Sea, the fish was once my friend, and that makes me sad regardless. While we ate, the other campers went to sacrifice their food, following their tradition.

Ever since we've joined the army, Chaos has never allowed us to burn any offerings. "That's so old." He said once we asked, so we never offered anything to the gods from that day on. It's not like we would do it anyway, why give the assholes the attention they crave?

I was halfway through my food before Amber pulled out her map again. Ditching her food and pressed a button, the hologram of Camp Half-Blood appearing again as I watched her with a raised eyebrow, my spoonful of mash hovering in front of my mouth. "I have an idea."

"What is it?" Jason asked after swallowing his bite of food as Amber spun the map, watching it spin for a moment before she stopped in front of the forest. "The forest is another way in; by shadow traveling." She said as I placed my elbow on the table, looking at her through my hood as she looked at the hologram, my spoon dropping to my plate slowly. "So we shouldn't fan out our security too thin; we might need the help from the Spartans. But other than that, the only way to come in is through the barrier." She said as I grin a little, knowing that I can trust her no matter what to think of things I can never think of. "You've outdone yourself again, baby sister."

You are aware that there is most likely a spy here, right? I mind massaged her as she nodded slightly, giving me a look as everyone tuned into our conversation. 'Uh, rude much?'

Of course I am. That was the small part of the plan; I will tell everyone once we enter our cabin. She replied back before she went back to her spaghetti and meatballs, eating them neatly while I went back to my mash and steak; trying not to spill sauce on my shirt because there is no way I am going to embarrass myself like that.

While we ate our food and talked among ourselves, I heard the campers whispering things behind our backs, and the way their gaze burn holes into us from behind made it hard to ignore them even though I am trying so hard.

"They look like assassins...."

"They might be evil...."

"Why do they have hoods on?"

"Should we trust them?"

"Crazy people who thinks they run the camp...."

"Might be a good ally in war...."

I ignored them as I saw Annabeth walking over, making stiffen in my spot as I awkwardly shove some broccoli in my mouth. "What is that?" Annabeth said as she looked at the holographic map, which Amber forgotten to off moments before. "This? This is just a map." Amber said and she swept her hand over the hologram, shutting it off as Annabeth stared at it in awe. "I invented it myself."

"That is actually really cool." Annabeth said in awe as Luke snorted, shaking his head a little. "Huntress is always cool, Athena spawn." He said as Annabeth frowned. "Why did you call me that?" She said as Luke shrugged, giving her a bored look. "I didn't quite catch your name." He said simply and Annabeth nodded slowly, looking slight suspicious at that as Luke kept a casual look. "My name's Annabeth Chase."

"Okay." He said simply before he went back to his food, making me cough awkwardly as Huntress turn to face her with a small smile, as if she was apologising from how cold we were treating them - can't blame us, after all the shit they put us through. "Is there anything we can help you with?" She said as Annabeth looked away from Luke, looking quite heartbroken as she bites her lip nervously. "We were wondering....well, have you ever seen Percy Jackson while you were on your travels?"

Everyone went quiet around as Huntress sighed and placed her fork down, looking quite sad like she hated to be the one delivering the sad news to a sad child. I felt my heartbeat quicken in fear as Huntress nodded, giving her an apologetic look while I prayed to Father that Amber knew what she was doing. "Yes, I have. But Percy Jackson....He is sort of like a myth to us."

"Myth?" Annabeth said with a frown, clearly confused by her words and I let myself relax little, because my dear sister was clearly making some story up. "Yes, myth; Perseus Achilles Jackson, a boy who was betrayed by everyone he ever knew, suddenly having to run from the people that he would sacrifice his world for. He flee from Earth 190 Earth years ago, and rumour has it that he has traveled all over the galaxy to help people in need."

"Maybe Omega has seen him." Annabeth said hopefully, turning to give me a hopeful look and I felt everyone's eyes on me, making me sighed dramatically. Time to give them the pen. I thought to myself as I reached into my pocket, and pulled out a pen I've sworn to never use ever again.

Gasps were heard around the camp as I uncap the pen, watching it grow into the familiar bronze sword in my hands. "This was a gift from Perseus.....or Percy as he wanted me to address him." I said with a sigh, trying to keep my emotions in check so I don't blow my cover. "I met him once on a planet that has been forgotten." I said as I placed the cap on the sword again, making it turn back into a pen and swirled it between my fingers like I've always done. "It is where the forgotten usual end up, going to rot there for the rest of their time before dying as peacefully as they can. I was there to do my month recruiting when I met the young man, heartbroken and worn out.

"He was crying his eyes out, so I asked him what was wrong. He told me his story, how he ended up here, and how much he wished he was dead." I said as everyone sat there in silence while I patted my back for being able to bullshit something on the spot. Please don't let me jinx myself. "He grabbed my sword and told me to run it through him." I said with a sad sigh, shaking my head dramatically. "I didn't do it. And that was my worst mistake I've ever made." I said with a voice heavily laced with sadness, so real that Amber hugged me tightly as I looked at Annabeth dead in the eye. "He grabbed the knife and stabbed himself."

Everyone gasped in shock again as Annabeth teared up, making my heart clench at the sight of her on the verge of tears. "I held him as he died in my arms. I watched as the light in his eyes slipped away. Felt as his body began to lose his warmth. Saw how he smiled like he finally found relief, and I heard his last words, he said, 'Tell my Wise Girl, that no matter what, I will forever be her Seaweed Brain.'...." I trailed off and every soldier looked down at their food, knowing that it was partly true.

I used to be consumed with dark thoughts, the memories of camp and what happened before I came to the Void used to haunt me every night as I slept. I remember how I stabbed myself, how Amber heard my screams from my bedroom where she found me after Jason broke the door, how she held me as Lee healed me, how she cried and told me to hold on while I was on the verge of blacking out forever.

"Hold on, Perce. Don't you dare leave me again, you idiot boy."

I remember looking up at her with a small smile as I said, "I will never leave you, Amber. But I need to release the pain. It's too much...."

I shook my head to rid myself of these thoughts and got up suddenly, looking down at Annabeth without any emotions as she started back up at me with tears training down her face. "I need to be going, Ms. Chase." I said politely and the others stood up as well, following me as we entered our cabin without sparing a glance at anyone. "Percy-"

"Don't, Alpha." I said as I threw off my hood, showing them my watery eyes as everyone paused in the living room. "Meeting will be postponed until tomorrow. Now, if you'll excuse me." I said hastily and turned around, entering my room as I sniffled softly and closed the door behind me. Just as the door closed shut behind me, I felt my tears slide down my face, the memories of their betrayal fresh in my brain as I walked around my room, sitting down on my bed silently.

I placed my head in my hands, my tears landing on the floor as I let thousand years worth of painfully kept tears break through the surface and haunt me all over again.

I heard someone open my door before a weight sunk down next to me on the mattress. "Leave me alone, Amber." I said in a small voice, not in the mood to deal with anyone as i heard a sigh, a pair of arms wrapping around me and a warm cheek pressing against my shoulder. "It's okay, Percy. I will never leave you. Just let it out....let it all out." She said in a kind and gentle tone, rubbing small circles on my back as I leaned into her, crying my eyes out as she cooed and sooth me into a silent and deep sleep.
